Lyanna Stark Appreciation Week || Day Four: Family

A bit off topic but it just makes me think about all the hate Sansa Stark is getting.

Tyrion murders a girl, rapes another and laughs at a brutally murderd women? -cool.

Sandor follows orders and kills a little kid, cutting him into pieces until his father can’t recognize him anymore? -no problem. Theon kills and rapes. -totally fine (the worst thing he did was clearly betraying Robb, not you know actually getting two children and their mother brutally murderd or anything). Oberyn forcefully takes Obara from her mother and just let’s the woman drink herself to death weeping for her child? -fine.

Benjen never telling 14 year old Jon what the Night’s Watch is really like? -no big deal. Stannis kills his little brother with a shaddow? -just peachy.

But sure the 11 year old who didn’t want to move away from her crush and told his mom is the worst person that ever lived in Westeros and deserves more hate than all of those men combined.

And I like those characters, they are so well written, Theon is my favourite asoiaf character but boy has he done some f-d up stuff and Sansa is still getting more hate.

people will be like “i love redemption arcs” but hate characters who have ever done bad things before. what are they being redeemed from?

Robert had been jesting with Jon and old Lord Hunter as the prince circled the field after unhorsing Ser Barristan in the final tilt to claim the champion’s crown. Ned remembered the moment when all the smiles died, when Prince Rhaegar Targaryen urged his horse past his own wife, the Dornish princess Elia Martell, to lay the queen of beauty’s laurel in Lyanna’s lap. He could see it still: a crown of winter roses, blue as frost.

JON SNOW APPRECIATION MONTH 2022 ↳ Day 6: Family

The last of the high lords to enter were his uncle, Benjen Stark of the Night’s Watch, and his father’s ward, young Theon Greyjoy. Benjen gave Jon a warm smile as he went by.

Jon looked up happily as his uncle Ben put a hand on his head and ruffled his hair much as Jon had ruffled the wolf’s.

“Father took the king down to the crypts this afternoon. The queen didn’t want him to go.”

Benjen gave Jon a careful, measuring look. “You don’t miss much, do you, Jon? We could use a man like you on the Wall.”

Jon swelled with pride. “Robb is a stronger lance than I am, but I’m the better sword, and Hullen says I sit a horse as well as anyone in the castle.”

honestly i think the most accurate casting for a stark (appearance-wise) is probably benjen. he’s got the long thin face, the long dark hair, the sharp nose.. idk i just like it
