Ok you know what SanSan shippers send me your highest recommended SanSan fics please I wanna give it a chance
Geralt of Rivia 🤝 Sandor Clegane
caring about no one except for
their horses and adopted highborn
daughters they would die for
a while back i asked sansan shippers for their best sansan fic because i always found myself disgusted by the ship and couldnt understand the appeal and many people were nice enough to actually send me the links to some genuinely well written fics. and the whole time whilst reading them i could only think to myself was “damn...this is really good...i just wished it wasnt sansan...”
when somebody asks me about who i think is the hottest asoiaf character:
like sandor has literally killed a child. murdered him in cold blood. he has lusted after a young girl and either did sexuality assault her at the botb or at least traumatized her into a state where at least thats what she remembers(not to go into if he actually did it or not -- the fact that she has this memory of some kind of assault says a lot). he is a morally grey character, and also widely well liked throughout the fandom -- people talk about all that he had to endure and the torture he experienced at the hands of his brother.
people literally want sansa to die because she was mean to her sister. they literally despise her. i’ve seen people even (in the context of the show) say that “it was satisfying to see what ramsay did to her”. many see her and catelyn as two of the most hatable and vile characters of the books (catelyn’s war crime being, mind you, that she didn’t love jon and was mean to him).
it’s fucking despicable.
if you want any proof that this fandom is misogynistic just look at how people talk about sandor vs catelyn or sansa
Alright I know that it’s very cool and everything that asoiaf is in a medieval fantasy setting but can you imagine how cool wild west westeros would be????? (the WWW ;) )
sandor clegane being a gun slinging outlaw...winterfell being set in like the dakotas with buffalo and wild horses...cersei lannister in 1890s dresses...jon snow shooting wights in the head and becoming the fastest shot in the west...(eros)
like imagine how much better these books would be if arya stark had a gun.
Okay this won't happen but if it comes to a fight between the Hound and Robert Strong/the Mountain just imagine
Sandor losing, getting kicked to the ground, his brother ready to throw down the sword for the final strike
And then a black shape jumps from the ceiling and lands on the Mountain's face, meowing and scratching and blinding him enough for the Hound to get back on his feet
How amazing would it be for Balerion the cat to turn the tide of the battle. For the sweet princess' grumpy, old, grudge-holding cat to be the one to avenge her after all these years. I would give anything to see it
This is entirely too long, but I'm obsessed! 🖤
Drawing questionable characters is cathartic.
damn bro your dog is huge what breed is he
"Joff had been fond of the Hound, to be sure, but that was not friendship. He was looking for the father he never found in Robert."
I’m obsessed with SanSan

An unequal marriage in Westeros.
I had been planning to make this little tribute to Pukirev with Sansa and Joffrey since January, and since then I have been thinking from time to time about which characters to include in the background and where to put them.
The only character who had a guaranteed spot from the beginning was Sandor, and it was where Pukirev had portrayed himself, precisely because of the rumors around him and what he felt for the bride in his painting, and also because there he is watching Sansa's back, as he somehow said he would do in the TV adaptation. I mentioned the rumor about Pukirev on my Twitter. I'm glad other people noticed it.
So, even though the ones who are marrying are Sansa and Joffrey, this is kind of a Sansan fanart, somehow
An unequal marriage in Westeros.
Sandor Clegane:
“There are no true knights, no more than there are gods. If you can’t protect yourself, die and get out of the way of those who can. “
2 chapters later:
“I could keep you safe,” he rasped. “They’re all afraid of me. No one would hurt you again, or I’d kill them.”
the universal experience of trying to figure out why the Hound is being so gentle to that one girl
“I could keep you safe. They’re all afraid of me. No one would hurt you again, or I’d kill them.” - Sansa Stark, ACoK
La Belle et la Bête (1946) by Jean Cocteau.
And then, in A Game of Thrones:
Sandor Clegane snarled at her. "Spare me your empty little compliments, girl... and your ser's. I am no knight. I spit on them and their vows. My brother is a knight. Did you see him ride today?"
