poe thoughts/hcs?👀

GOD I REMEMBER WHEN HE WAS MY FAVORITES :(( i don't think much about him now please, BUT. BUT. i have a couple thoughts and hcs!

OKAY FIRST OF ALL

i love him sm??? i just might reread all the chapters he's featured in because again, when i first got into bsd, him and ranpo were instantly my first favorites (hence my ranpoe blog theme for a long time) because he's just so??? he's so funny to me. "he's like me for real" kind of moment everytime i think of him because i too dislike large group settings and push myself to working hard at my passion!! but that's neither here nor there

maybe it's changed now, but like, i guess my problem with him is how he's kind of viewed as an extension of ranpo by both the fandom and the story? i won't say that ranpo uses him like a tool because we do know that ranpo does respect poe and his skills quite a lot, it just happens that his gift is incredibly useful for his plans for the agency. and honestly good for them! poe gets to have his gift be acknowledged by ranpo, and ranpo is able to include himself in the fight despite his lack of an ability.

i don't know... i just want him to be his own person!! he's really entertaining and interesting on his own with his dramatic dialogue and his mood swings (same) and i want him to be appreciated for him!!!

yes i'm aware that there is a chapter with him welcoming mushitaro into his home, and like?? this part?? always gets me PLEASE, he's the sweetest ever

OH YEAH ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE IS HOW, just like the rest of the guild, HIS DESIGN WAS DONE SO DIRTY. WHERE'S THE CHAIN ON HIS COAT, THE INTRICATE WEB LIKE PATTERN ON HIS COAT, THE PIN STRIPES IN HIS PANTS? he's arguably one of the best designs among the guild members and he got done ridiculously dirty.

anyway i love him! onto some hcs i guess?

there's no way this man isn't some level of fan for musicals. literally no way. i'm not sure what kind of musicals he'd like because i'm not a musical fan myself, so let me know what you think he likes!

i think he's a sour/savory type of guy. like. i feel like he'd love pasta and bread a lot? he's definitely a food critic internally

i feel like he's the type to keep a decently sized stationary collection! he's more into dark academia style stationery, but that doesn't stop him from eyeing the halloween/orange and purple stationery in his online shopping!

i think he's 50 50 at homemade and takeout. he does have the money to always buy takeout, but cooking is his little passion when he's not writing! i'm really pushing my poe cook/food critic agenda here, aren't i

he's not exactly high-maintenance, but he will do absolutely everything for his hair. absolutely high maintenance just for his hair, it's gotta look messy but kind of cute, you know?

also super personal design hc i might incorporate when i draw him again: his hair is definitely a gradient from purple to a darker purple.

the villain(ess) and the commoner

this is from the ship requests over on twitter, as i take a short break from drawing the hunting dogs. i genuinely had fun with this and it was a breath of fresh air i definitely needed for the sake of my art journey. 

[id:  bungo stray dogs fanart. includes the ship "ranpoe", which consists of edogawa ranpo and edgar allan poe. ranpo is shown to be carrying poe with both hands, while beaming proudly at poe. poe is shown to be holding on to ranpo by his shoulders and looks severely flustered by the gesture. they are wearing clothes based on the light novel / manga entitled "the villainess wants to marry a commoner!". ranpo is drawn to wear the same commoner attire as ursch-kun, from the light novel. from what can be seen, he wears a plain white button up, baggy brown pants that stop at his knees, black stockings and brown boots. poe is drawn to wear the same gown as isabella, from the light novel. instead of the blue gown, he wears a wine purple gown that matches his hair color. a part of his hair is also tied up to a flower-shaped bun at the right side of his head. /end id]

had so much fun drawing ranpo so i decided why not doodle margaret for this ask, andd i had too much fun

before i caught up with the manga last year, the guild was actually my favorite organization! poe and margaret were my favorites at the time (and now lucy!) especially in the design aspect because both poe and margaret Scream bougie, which was the exact vibe i wish every guild character emanated from their outfits, even if they come from different backgrounds

i don't have a lot of definitive thoughts on her because realisitcally, we don't know much about her

she does appear arrogant and dramatic yes, we've seen her dedication in salvaging the reputation of her family and how that affects how she treats her co-workers (like when she continuously protected hawthorne during his fight with akutagawa) but other than that? i don't have much i can say

i know the guild characters are stuck in the shelf, but if ever we get to explore them again even just as a side story, i'd love to see how she became a guild member, especially her partnership with hawthorne because clearly they've been partnered enough times that she's willing to take the role of defense for hawthorne to the extent that she was sent to a comatose from an extremely fatal attack

like?? even if you don't see her as much during the fight, the times we did see her, she was defending for his sake, not attacking alongside him or even battling without his cooperation like you'd expect from the arrogant woman, i'd love to learn more about how they've come to this type of battle dynamic as a duo

CAN WE TALK ABT HOW HER LIKE IS "ANOTHER DAY" AND DISLIKES ARE "WAR, BETRAYAL"? like i know these info pages are just trivial but i need to know if this is closely related to why she operates the way she does

hcs:

enjoys window shopping or going into boutiques just to admire the clothes she can find! she definitely has an eye for fashion but i don't think she'd put money on herself more than her own family, so she resorts to admiring and dreaming instead

has trouble being alone for long periods of time

has a noticeable accent (sorry her EN dub voice captivated me)

does anyone remember when i used to just color doodles with a gradient

BSD + Pokemon Pt. 2 (Guild + Special Division + Extras)

Yo. I'm back. XD And I have moreeeee as well as some extra folks

Guild

Fitzgerald: Persian (Three words. Rich man vibes. Anyways.)

Louisa: Noctowl (Basic, I know, but it just feels fitting for her. Not to mention, the Pokemon twists its head 180 degrees to increase intellect, similar to Louisa able to use her ability to its fullest as long as she's alone in a private room. That, and owl, and she uses a quill to write. What's more to love? [sidenote, it's actually a pretty big birb, this birb's at least 5". *it's taller than me by an inch or two.*)

Margaret: Altaria (Margaret's ability is basically wind, Altaria might be the closest thing to something related to wind/the sky. And to be honest, I'm kinda proud of this one. I thought Margaret's was gonna be hard, but each time I keep thinking back to flying Pokemon, fluffy cloud birb came to mind and just "done. dusted. stop here, that one.")

Hawthorne: Aegislash (Not my best, once again. Given Hawthorne's ability and his person, I couldn't really find one best suited. Not to mention his ability is quite specific. So I had to go with the fact he could use his ability as bullets and a shield. Offense and defense? Why not change the bullet part to a sword? and boom, Aegislash.)

Twain: Swellow (At first I was gonna go with Talonflame, but then I saw Swellow. And then I keep running into more bird Pokemon. The only reason I stuck with Swellow was because [looks back at bulbapedia] yada yada yada- "It never misses its targets". Compliments his ability well.)

Steinbeck: Arboliva (Terrifying olive tree and the only one I could think of that could fit Steinbeck's ability. Siderant: I ran into these guys when I first played Pokemon Violet, and it was so ANNOYING. I hit it. It hits back. Harder. AND THEN IT SELFHEALS. "But Lavender, you could just run-" It was a trainer battle.)

Lovecraft: Tangrowth (Going with Lovecraft's... [looks at bsdwiki] uh- hm... non-ability, with him able to use his tentacles, Tangrowth does the same with their vines. And similar to the tentacles able to regenerate, Tangrowth losing their arms doesn't trouble them.)

Herman: Wailord (*Gestures at Moby Dick* Need I say more?)

Poe: Corvisquire ([ . . . ] Look it was either going to be a raccoon [Zigzagoon], a cat [none fit the "black cat" aesthetic except maybe Litten], or a bird [Corvisquire or Murkrow]. My guy already has Karl, he could be the Zigzagoon at default, and there are no Pokemon related to books hhhh, so he gets a bird.)

Lucy: Gothorita ([inhalesss] [exhalesss] My first choices was Banette. [looks at Q]. My second choise was Magearna. [looks further down this post]. Then I see Dollive. [Looks at Steinbeck's Arboliva]. Of all that I can manage through skimming serebii's national pokedex, I came across the Gothita line. At first, I felt bad that it was sort of a last ditch plan for Lucy, but looking at the two together, they sort of compliment each other? Maybe? And yes, Gothorita specifically.)

Special Division

Ango: Reuniclus (Just like Mori, I had trouble with this one, but in which aspect. His occupation or his ability. In the end, I grabbed a small aspect of his ability where it does quite the mental strain on him, and this Pokemon line [or rather the second evolution] has that brain aspect. Other than that, though, I have thought of Klefki [for some reason???], Munna/Musharna[what is with these pokemon-?], or just any psychic-type Pokemon.)

Tsujimura: Darkrai (Now I know what you're thinking. "WHY GIVE HER SOMETHING OVERPOWERED?" Well, not only is Tsujimura's ability Yesterday's Shadow Tag something similar when it comes to shadows and Darkrai *is* shadows, but the thought of it comes to the fact that she got her ability through her mother, just like Kyouka with Demon Snow. The idea of someone having such a powerful ability/Pokemon in their hands but is ultimately nerfed due to the fact they're inexperienced, or in Tsujimura's case, unable to control it.)

Taneda: Espeon (Don't know much about the man, but his ability lets him know the nature of another's ability upon its activation. So my guy rolls an active perception check. And of all that I've seen that could "sense intention" were either Raltz/Kirlia, Lucario, and Espeon. And I was tempted in choosing Espeon not by bias, but that they passively have perception check running [odd words there, friend-]. And ye owo)

Extra

Mushitarou: Phantump (Ignoing the Pokemon's pokedex and the implications of a Phantump coming to be, the little guy just keeps reminding me of Mushitarou's little ghost buddies of his Perfect Crime ability. So have the little guy. It he.)

Ayatsuji: Magearna (Yup, pulling these guys up. Again, I don't know much of the other light novels, but I knew enough by the fanwiki. And one thing in particular I noticed besides Ayatsuji being a detective was that he likes ball-jointed dolls. So, Magearna! And to be honest, this Pokemon was what I had in mind to give Lucy but... yeaaaahh that went well-)

Kyogoku: Ghastly (I went all out, 'cos I pulled up articles for this one. Not only is Kyogoku's ability "Possession Drop" said to be of a Yokai Possession, I went to see about Pokemon that are based off on Yokai. And it says here that Ghastly are based off from "Onibi" or just souls that turn into small flames that wander, detached from their bodies. And reading about Kyogoku, it makes sense. Oh, and that generally ghost-type Pokemon are capable in possessing people.)

Next up will likely be DOA and the Hunting Dogs with a few more extras weeeeeeee

I convinced my brother to watch bsd. After he started season two he ran into my room to kiss my Fitzgerald flag good night.

I need to know if everyone’s style and fashion drastically improved or changed after you started to watch/read bsd. I know it happened to me and I saw some other people say it happened too, but I need to know if this happens to everyone or just a few people.

Today is the one year mark of me starting bsd and I can’t believe that i’m still just as obsessed
