June calendar is here. This time, it is a book from my country. The title is "Bulan" (Eng : moon) by Tere Liye. He is one of my favorite Indonesian author. His works are always soulful, about life, and contains advices.
Bulan in the second book of the Bumi (Eng : earth) series. There are seven books in total. This series tell the stories of 3 best friends and their adventures trying to save their pararell world. As far as know the first three books of the series have been translated to english.

you can divide all avatar characters into "thinks sokka's funny" and "doesn't think sokka's funny" and i'm 100% convinced piandao is in the former category. like katara and bato and gran-gran and all the other cool people who love him but roll their eyes at his jokes assume this serious fire nation swordmaster is on their side but sokka makes the stupidest sword pun one day while he's training and piandao laughs so hard he snorts

Okay, but hear me out; Zuko adoption fic, Bumi adopted him.
Freshly banished and high off his gourd, 13 year old Zuko stumbles onto the wrong ship when his uncle stops to resupply, manages to wriggle into an exotic pet of some sorts cage, and falls asleep.
Enter King Bumi, opening his cage for his newest pet and finding it curled around a kid.
Does he know this is the Fire Prince? Yes.
Does he know where said kids uncle currently was? Also yes.
So what was Bumi gonna do?
Adopt the kid, obviously.
"King Bumi, that child just firebe-"
"I know! Can you imagine, an AIRBENDER in MY line?"
"What no that was fi-"
Followed by cackling from Bumi.
Zuko keeps trying to escape, he really does, but Bumi keeps trying to escape with him and thats not the goal-
Idk, I think it'd just be fun for the whole "someones going to die." "Of fun!" Dynamic.
Bumps favorite past time being pretending to be incompetent at war councils and letting Zuko just go off, cuz that kid has a set of lungs on him and does not know when to shut the hell up, and also its good to work through trauma by screaming at it.
