anyways chat if Caleo is pedophelia despite the fact that Calypso has the mind+body of a teenager, and that time works differently on Ogygia shouldn't you hate Solangelo for the same reason? Nico didn't die. he's chronologically like 93 or something! but what's the solangelo fans reasoning? I hate how people accuse Percy of forgetting about Calypso. He made the gods promise to free her and he was under the impression that they would.
It makes sense that Calypso would be upset/angry with him because she's isolated and didn't know if he even tried to help her after he left. That makes sense to me.
But the gods went back on their promise. And everyone holds Percy responsible. He was just a kid, freshly turned 16. Like what was he expected to do? Babysit the gods to make sure they held up their end of the deal? He shouldn't be expected to do that.
Not to mention even if he would've thought to check up on Calypso, he spent 6 months of his sixteenth year with no memories of his past. He literally had no way to help her. Hera stole months from him.
leo should have gone back for calypso because he knew how it feels to be left out and ignored not because he needed to get a girlfriend to solve all of his problems. then he should have came back to camp, where he would have found his friends, that have been worried sick for him, that cared for him, he would have realized that he wasn't just The Seventh, but he was Part of The Seven. that's how leo's arc should have ended.
As much as I love the rrverse I think it would have been nice to see Leo learning to love himself and work through his attatchment issues in a more fulfilling way. Calypso is great but it sort of feels like she was just a convenient way to give him a girlfriend.
I propose a headcanon: Leo being frayromantic/fraysexual towards people, and Calypso never actually fell for him when he came back because at that point it was already in violation of her curse by Leo coming back. She was not forced to feel attraction towards him.
They would be equally valid as friends, plus it gets rid of the implications of Calypso's immortality with a mortal partner. Maybe Leo could work out his attatchment issues through friendship, and I think it would make an interesting story arc for him to finally feel safe, only for Jason to die and he has to deal with that grief as well, but this time he learns he isn't alone.
Again, this is just a headcanon or a suggested alternative storyline for Leo because Caleo isn't my vibe <3 no hate to Caleo shippers, they're still a great duo platonic or not.
So. Aroace/Frey[r/s] Calypso and Frey[r/s] Leo, anyone?
