remember kids if you think your life sucks:
Percy Jackson was once a gerbil
Jason Grace ate a stapler
Thalia Grace was a tree
Frank Zhang is pretty much a furry
Something I noticed about the pjo series is that Percy never really stopped holding up the sky.
In book three, he does end up tricking atlas into taking it back, but he doesnāt actually relieve himself of the burden. When he tells Nico about his sister and chooses to be the child of prophecy, he accepts the weight of his entire world on his shoulders as the hero. Being the person who decides the fate of the world has to be terrifying for someone so young, yet he willingly chooses the prophecy as a way to both punish himself for Biancaās death and protect Nico.
Percy Jackson is still holding up the sky, and he is still bearing the weight of the world so that the other demigods and immortal beings donāt have to. I look forward to the day that Percy actually gets to live his own life and finally shift that burden to others, but I also know that Percy has to trust someone to give them that weight and if he trusts them he might also want to protect them from the fate like Nico.
After all, his fatal flaw is loyalty.
fondly remembering that time I was working as a cashier when I was 19-20 and my former bus driver and his wife came through. He says to me "Hey, you look familiar" and I reply "Yes, I was one of the bus kids you drove, specifically the one you screamed at and threatened to ban from the bus and make walk home because I was crying out in pain while the other kids were ripping huge chunks of hair out of my head but you did nothing about them." and his wife slowly looked at him like this

Hello Deadpool and Wolverine fandom

I'd like to bring this golden post back in light of the Honda Odyssey scene
Tbh he was real for that tho-

āelevate necromancy to an art formā he is the most insufferable motherfucker in the world im gonna kill him
Friendly reminder that names have meaning in the pjo universe.
Percy/Perseus- to destroy or avenge, a Greek hero with a happy ending.
Leo/Leonidas - a spartan king who sacrificed himself to save his people.
Jason- healer/to heal, lead the argonauts to the Golden Fleece but died a painful death.
Thalia- an immortal muse of comedy and idyllic poetry.
Castor- to excel/to shine, killed while his twin brother survives (in the most common version of the myth).
Pollux- Crown/ very sweet, survives after his twin brother is killed.

Nico and Will would listen to AJJ-
Change my mind <33
Adding to this bc why not š¤·š»
We see how having powers that can cause harm can affect you psychologically (mainly with Percy and Nico).
Imagine Will growing scared of his own powers, not knowing weither heās healing someone or making them worse.
Imagine him looking at the blood on his hands and thinking about how maybe he killed them. Maybe he lost control of his abilities.
Imagine the fear of helping anyone, using ambrosia or nectar if mortal medicine isnāt good enough.
Imagine him being too scared to touch anyone because he doesnāt know what will happen.
Imagine him hiding his struggles behind a fake smile because heās meant to be the happy, sunshine, healer boy.
Imagine him wishing he could talk to Micheal or Lee about this and remembering he canāt.
Imagine him looking at his blonde hair with hate.
He looks like a much younger version of his father.
The father who curse him with hands that can heal and hurt.
The father whose traits he inherited.
āNo bad, all goodā
Are plague powers good?
Is hurting people good?ļæ¼
Soon he can no longer even look at himself in the mirror without feeling disgust at what he can do.
Even if he eventually learns to live with the knowledge that he can hurt almost as good as he can heal, there will always be a small voice in the back of his mind telling him that maybe someone he loves is next.
Demigods never live that long anyway-
<33
Iāve seen a few headcanons (especially in fics) that Will solace actually is naturally brunette but when he was claimed by Apollo his hair turned blonde (weither itās over time due to sun bleaching or straight away).
And I just wanted to say I love this so much purely because of how heartbreaking some of the implications can be. š¤
Itās never happened to any Apollo campers before, Will doesnāt know why it had to happen to him, his one sense of normalcy taken away so quickly, his one connection to his previous life- gone.
Will starts to pick up quite quickly heās not like his other siblings, heās canāt write and is average at archery. But he can heal, better than anyone else can.
He was different from the start, he was claimed differently, and his gift was different too.
And while still struggling with what to do, at the ripe age of 12 heās now in charge of a cabin full of kids younger than him, because he was the oldest to survive.
Just imagine how the plague powers would also affect him. Apollo himself said that it seemed Will had gained all of his good qualities and none of his bad.
How would this 15 year old feel that the same hands that can heal can cause harm?
<33
Plus Jason and Luke looking quite similar-
Friendly reminder that Thalia had to lose Jason twice.

AW, WHO WOULD EVER WANNA BE KING?
I hate, especially in the pjo fandom, when people cut characters down to 1 trait. Sometimes it's a trait that isn't even one they have!
Like Percy, Will and Leo being seen as dumb erks me to no end. Especially Leo.
I know they're incorrect quotes but I saw one where they used the "7x7" "stuff she knows!" audio with leo and I'm just-
He knew collage level math at 8!!! What you mean he wouldn't know 7x7.
He could probably recite 100+ digits of pi. He built a whole ship!!
Same with Percy and Will. Like Percy is not dumb, he's just someone who thinks on his feet and isn't book smart like Annabeth.
Will runs an infirmary and cabin by himself by 13. He immediately finds a way to check on Nico's condition and chides him for risking his health. He's working with no weapon as a field medic, he has to be smart enough to avoid attacks.
Nico isn't just the emo sad kid. He is quick to make friends with those people tend to be wary of. He's just getting use to people again after being on his own for so long.
Jason isn't just some boring/ lesser version of Percy. He has a detailed past and motives even without most of his memories.
Michael isn't just attitude and starting fights. The only fellow camper he actually fights with is Clarisse and he's pretty chill for the rest of the book other then just being sassy sometimes. He's usually just matching energy.
Stolls aren't all stupid either, they were 12-13 when they became hcs of the largest cabin at a camp. A cabin, mind you, that was recently ran by a 19-almost 20 year old. They're poster children for younger siblings suddenly forced to mature.
Maybe it's just me and my love for psychoanalyizing characters, but really like most people forget how 3 dimensional these characters are.
Do not get me started on characters like Drew and Octavian or how many of y'all forget Annabeth(and every demigod other than frank) also is dyslexic and not just the ones the fandom deems as "dumb".
