A Love Letter to LadyNoir

I said I was going to write an essay about how great LadyNoir is, and I wasn’t lying.

DISCLAIMER I: All sides of the love square are wonderful! I love them all a lot, and this is in no way hate for any side. It’s kind of hard to say “this side is my favorite” without comparing it to the other sides at least a little, but the other sides are still amazing and I love them to bits too!!

DISCLAIMER II: Yes, Chat Noir is an ass to Ladybug when it comes to being rejected. This is absolutely true and I’m not going to defend that. Ladybug has every right to not want to be with Chat Noir, and him repeatedly asking her out and then openly moping about it when she says no, despite KNOWING she’ll say no, is very Bad. I’m not here to defend that. However, Ladybug and Chat Noir are 14, and Chat Noir is not only navigating love for the first time, but relationships in general as well. I’m not excusing it, and this is Definitely and Objectively a flaw of his, but it’s something he can (and I expect WILL) overcome and grow out of as he matures and realizes the error in his ways.

And after he grows out of it? Once Chat Noir matures and learns to be more respectful to Ladybug’s feelings? You know what’s left? The best ship ever, that’s what.

Cat Noir Redesign :)

🇺🇸: My Cat Noir redesign. I didn't change him much because I already liked his original design, so I just tried to give a bit more color variation to him and simplify the stuff he uses in his hand and feet (I don't even know what this is lol, so I just tried to change/"simplify" this part so it would be easier for me to draw). I may re-do this design in the future because I'm not sure if I want to keep it like this (Specially the belt). I'm also in doubt if I should make the mask move to simulate the expression, if I should put eyebrows on top of the mask or alternate with both depending on the situation and intention. I saw a concept art with Cat's closed eyes being green, and I thought it was cool- but I'm not sure which one I prefer. I know the composition is kinda weird, I shouldn't have left that blank space in the top left lol, but it happens.

I'm always openings for sugestions, AND if someone knows a cool screencap of ladybug and cat noir, please send me so I can redraw it with those designs!

Ladybug redesign

🇧🇷: O redesign que eu fiz pro Cat Noir. Não mudei muita coisa dessa vez porque eu já gostava do design original dele, então eu tentei só adicionar um pouco mais de variação de cor nele e simplificar o coiso que ele usa nas mãos e nos pés (nem sei q bagulho é essekkkk ent eu só tentei "simplificar"/mudar um pouco essa parte pra ficar mais fácil de desenhar, pq eu nem entendia como aquilo funcionava). Eu provavelmente vou refazer esse design no futuro pq não tenho certeza se quero ou não manter ele dessa forma (especialmente o cinto). Ainda tô em dúvida tb se eu deveria fazer a máscara se mover pra replicar a emoção, se deveria colocar as sobrancelhas em cima dela ou alternar entre ambas ideias dependendo da situação, contexto e intenção. Eu tb vi uma concept art do Chat com os olhos fechados sendo verdes e achei bem daora, mas ainda não sei qual eu prefiro entre verde e preto (especialmente quando um olho ta aberto e o outro fechado). A composição tá meio estranha mesmo (e me incomodando kkkk), eu não devia ter deixado aquele espaço em branco no topo à esquerda, mas acontece

Sempre tô aberta a sugestões, E se alguém souber de alguma cena (um screencap, nem sei se tem tradução pra isso) com a ladybug e o cat noir juntos, pfv me mandem pra eu poder tentar desenhar com os designs que eu fiz! (O link pro redesign da ladybug ta ali em cima)

I made a version with my "normal" style and a simpler version- I really want to develop a simpler style so I can use it in some scenes IF I do the comic for my AU, so I'm doing some tests by now. I wanted to make the coloring more interesting than that, but I think it is ok.

Those designs are definitely not the final ones, specially ladybug's- but I knew that if I waited until I got satisfied with the designs I'd probably never post it lol. I also changed her hair a little bit.

At the same time that I do want to post a lot about my AU, most of it is either something I'm afraid to be a spoiler or something that can change/has not be fully decided yet. So it can take a while before I start posting actual relevant stuff about it.

Eu fiz uma versão com meu estilo "normal" e uma versão mais simples- quero muito desenvolver um estilo mais simples pra poder usar ele em algumas cenas CASO eu faça a comic pra minha AU, então tô fazendo alguns testes por agora. Queria q a pintura ficasse um pouco mais interessante que isso, mas acho que ficou ok.

Esses designs definitivamente não são definitivos, especialmente o da ladybug (inclusive, mudei o cabelo dela um pouco)- mas eu sabia que se eu esperasse até ficar satisfeita eu nunca ia postar kkkk

Ao mesmo tempo que eu quero postar bastante sobre minha AU, a maior parte dela é ou algo que eu tenho medo de ser spoiler, ou algo que pode mudar/que eu não decidi totalmente ainda. Então talvez demore um pouco até eu começar a postar coisas de fato relevantes sobre ela.

De qualquer forma, foi bem divertido de fazer :)

Okay I'll just keep working on miraculous arts.

So today I gave a birth to one little LadyNoir painting.

Called it "After the Strike back's ending scene".

I don't think that the MLB show will ever tell us what they did after all that we've seen, but in my belief they would sit together watching the starry night. Chat will obviously comfort LB till the last star disappears... They would discuss all that they've been through and felt, but Chat will obviously make his lady forget about everything and just laugh.

MariChat has always been my favourite, but today I think that this ship wins a special place in my heart. It just has so much ambitions and ways to develop my goodness!

Chat Noir has what every girl in the world wants, pockets.

This comic is 100% in character and no one can tell me otherwise.

Ok so we all talk about how Marinette and Adrien will react when the secret identies come out… but think of the crisis Chloe is going to have

The kids at work wanted a picture to colour so I sketched this, inked it with texta, and photocopied it 10 times. This is free to colour, so if anyone does please show me!!

Decided to put some colour on that Adrien sketch I did earlier this week

Snake noir redesign.

The biggest issue with the original design was the baldness, especially since aspik was bald with the snake miraculous so chat should have tried to not be bald to throw off any suspicions for him being adrien.

Besides giving him his hair back and making his mask black the main changes I made were to make him look more snakey since the cat theme comes through pretty strongly with only the ears and tail.

I added a scale texture to the more of the suite and made the torso look more like a snakes belly.

I also expanded the blue pieces on his forearms up to his biceps to look like snakes wrapping around his arms.

Finally I added a couple more small green accents to a few other parts of his costume to make it more cohesive ( tail and boots).
