extremely well-rounded characters that are at the same time both horrible and endearing people we can sympathize with by understanding some of their history and reasoning behind the bad behavior
there’s a lot of love in there for each other member of the gang but they still often exacerbate one another’s faults and are cruel because of their own
do you really think this was a public condemnation of both chardee and macdennis?
absolutely not. rather than criticize the romantic dynamics between the gang, i think the purpose of this episode was to provide commentary on how sexual harassment is still overlooked in many aspects of our society, as well as to elucidate just how toxic each individual member of the gang really is. they’re supposed to be each other’s closest support system but instead they treat each other like shit. tbh if someone watches this episode and their main takeaway is that their ship has been “publicly condemned” then i’m a little bit concerned lol
not to sound like i’m woobifying charlie or anything but that bit in dennis’ double life when charlie lies down next to dee and keeps saying “please don’t try to bang me again, dee” kinda really fuckin hurts now
