A Month of Whump Day 5: Sickfic
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Summary: Cody falls in love and catches a certain flowery disease.
Love is such a strange thing. Cody didn't realize it could be so deadly. At first he was unsure of what was going on. He had just coughed up a few sunflower petals. Holding them in his hand he decided to go see Kix. It felt like something he shouldn't go to his medic for, why he wasn't sure.
Cody walked around until he found him. "Kix, I need to talk to you."
"What's going on Commander?" Kix asked.
The commander pulled Kix into a nearby empty hallway and showed him the flower petals.
"Sunflower petals?" The medic felt uneasy. Cody wouldn't get him for something that wasn't serious. "I don't understand."
"I...coughed them up." Cody looked down. "I'm not sure why."
The medic just stared at him for a moment, "you.. coughed them up?"
"Yes."
"Let me look into this. I'll come find you when I know. For now just drink water and let me know if anything changes." With that he left.
Cody walked back to his room. On the way he started coughing again. He felt the flower petals coming up and after a few seconds they were in his hand. This time the petals from a pink Dahlia.
Not quite an hour later Kix hunted Cody down. After checking just about everywhere he finally looked in the general barracks. There Cody was sitting with Waxer. The clone had a hand on his commander's back while Cody sat with his forearms on his thighs.
"I found out what's going on." Kix started.
Cody sat up and nodded his head. Waxer looked over at Kix, "good. So what is it?" The lieutenant had found Cody in the hall with the pink petals in hand. He didn't seem like he felt very well so he took him to the barracks.
Kix kneeled down in front of the bed and started to explain. "It's called Hanahaki disease. It comes from unrequited or perceived unrequited love. Flowers grow in the victim's lungs. There are two ways to get rid of it, surgery; which will remove your feelings for the person, and for the person to be in love with you."
"Love?" Waxer looked at Cody, "who are you in love with?"
Cody just looked at the two. What would they think? The man was in love with his superior. It was inappropriate.
"Someone I could never have." Cody sighed.
"What does that mean?" Kix asked.
"You love the general don't you?" Waxer stated. "I see the way you interact with him, the way you look at him."
Cody was quiet. Silently he nodded. "Your best opinion then is the surgery." Kix spoke.
"No, not yet."
"Sir, this can and will kill you if you don't act on it." The medic stood up.
"Have you told him?" Waxer stood as well.
"No."
"Well then you have to."
Cody didn't say anything. Instead he stood up and walked away. He couldn't tell him. He could tell his general that he fell for him. He would just have to deal with the flowers for now.
As time went on the disease got worse. Cody's lungs were being overtaken by Sunflowers and Dahlias. He was tired and in agonizing pain all the time. Breathing felt like he was being stabbed by a million tiny needles. The worst part was this cursed illness affected his leadership. The clone couldn't do as much as he used to. Some of his brothers caught on and tried to help where they could. No one knew what was going on and he wouldn't tell. When Obi-wan caught on he too did whatever he could.
Something about the feeling of dying calmed Cody. It proved he was alive in the first place; that he wasn't some droid. He was in love.
Waxer and Kix continued to press, trying to convince him to get the surgery or to talk to the general. He refused to do both. The clone commander was scared of the answer if he confessed. He was unsure of what would be worse, if Obi-wan didn't feel the same or if he did. The two would be stuck knowing that they loved each other but could never act on any of their feelings because of the Jedi code. Of course Obi-wan could always hate him afterwards. But if he got the surgery he wouldn't love Obi-wan and the thought of that was something he couldn't bear.
Now the battalion was preparing for battle. It was the night before and time to sleep. Cody couldn't really sleep anymore. His inability to breathe well kept him awake. When he finally did fall asleep he woke up to a stabbing pain in his neck. Rubbing his hand over it he paused. A flower had grown through his neck. It felt like a sunflower. Unsure of what to do he went to find Waxer.
When Waxer was woken up in the middle of the night he thought something had happened with the enemy. It wasn't until he was the flower that he understood what was going on. "What the fuck?" He sat up. "I didn't know it could do that."
"I didn't either. What do I do now?"
"How am I supposed to know? I'll call Kix."
After a moment Kix answered, "what's going on?" In the background the two could hear the sounds of war.
"There's a flower sticking out of Cody's neck." Waxer spoke quietly.
"Good Kriff."
"Can we cut it out?" Cody asked panicked.
"Yes but be extremely careful!"
"Got it. Be careful!" Waxer replied.
"Thanks Kix." Cody turned off the comm. Then Waxer went to find scissors or a small knife. Cody started coughing again. This time blood came out with a full Dahlia. The clone struggled to breathe, both from panic and the injury. His throat was raw and it showed in his voice.
When Waxer returned Cody was struggling to breathe. Not that he hadn't been but it was worse than normal. When he saw the Dahlia covered in blood and the sunflower in the commander's hand he commed the medic and the general quickly.
Boil had heard the noise and ran over to the two. He kneeled beside Cody and tried to help him breathe. After another flower escaped his mouth he started to breathe a little better.
Obi-wan was the next to arrive. "Waxer what's going on?" Then he saw Cody. Without thought he immediately rushed over to the man. Boil moved and Obi-wan took his place. "Cody what's wrong.?" The flowers took him by surprise. "Who?"
"Who?" Cody whispered.
"Who are you in love with?"
It clicked with the others before Cody. Obi-wan was a Jedi of course he knew what Hanahaki was. The disease would give away any Jedi that broke the code.
Cody finally gave in, "you, sir."
There was silence for a moment. "Dear, you should have told me sooner."
"That's a good sign" Waxer whispered over to Boil. He looked over to his brother confused, "Waxer what's going on?" Waxer would quietly explain the situation while the others talked.
Obi-wan moved closer to the commander and placed his forehead on the others, "I love you too."
Relief hit everyone. Relief turned into dread as Cody relieved something. The two were in love. Obi-wan was a Jedi and he was a clone. There was the code, their ranking, and a war stopping them.
"Are you okay?" Obi-wan asked. Cody broke out of his thoughts and opened his eyes. Looking into the Jedis bright blue eyes he felt safe. Kenobi had that effect on people.
"Yeah." The next day Cody stayed back by order of Obi-wan and the medic.
Time would pass and Cody would heal. It took about a week for all the flowers to get out of his system. It took a little longer for him to feel strong again. The lovers talked and decided they would act on their feelings, no matter how dangerous it could be. They loved each other and nothing could stop that. Sunflowers and Dahlias could grew around them until one day their love would kill each other. Hopefully it would never come to that. Hopefully.
Whumpril Day 13: Burry Vision/"I Think I Need to Sit Down."
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars.
Summary: Obi-wan gets wounded by Grievous. Cody's in there to just wait till closer to the end.
Blood poured from Obi-wan's head. He had been slammed into a nearby wall by General Grievous. The Jedi stood back up swiftly and pushed off the wall. He swung his lightsaber towards his foe.
As the fight continued Obi-wan's strikes became less coordinated. His vision started to blur. The nearby blaster fire mixed with the color of Grievous's blue lightsabers. It confused him. Using the force to find where the blades would be coming from, Kenobi looked for a way out. He had two goals now, don't let any more of the men be killed by Grievous and survive.
The 212th had the upper hand in the fight. The main issue was Obi-wan's injury. He hoped to stick it out until Grievous would eventually retreat. Blinking he tried to get rid of the blurriness.
A few minutes felt like an hour and Grievous was gone. "This isn't over Kenobi" he spoke calmly and angrily.
"Of course it's not" he whispered. Obi-wan wanted to come up with something to say but his splitting headache made it difficult to think.
Obi-wan stumbled around the area, trying not trip over droids and over his men's bodies. A shot from behind startled him. Turing around, lightsaber drawn, he heard a voice. "Obi-wan!"
He saw the white and he saw the orange meaning the voice had to be a member of the 212th. Which member he wasn't sure at first.
A new droid laid on the ground behind him. The clone jumped over it and ran up to his jedi. "Are you alright?" A hand carefully touched the man's upper arm and Obi-wan knew who it was.
"Yes, I'm alright. Thank you dear."
"Don't thank me; thank Wooly.
Obi-wan looked around, trying to find Wooly. "Thank you."
"That's not Wooly."
"Oh. Where is he?"
"I'm right here General. Anytime."
Obi-wan took a few shaky steps forward. Cody held his arms out just in case he needed to catch the other.
The Jedi stopped for a second. " I think I need to sit down" His legs gave out from underneath him. Cody slid and caught him.
"Wooly." Cody sounded scared. Woolly moved in and grabbed the general and took him to the triage. His wound would be taken care of there.
Later Obi-wan would wake up. His head throbbed but at least he could see clearly. Looking around he tried to find his commander.
After a little while Cody would appear to check on his lover. "Hey dear" he kneeled down to Obi-wan, "how are you feeling?"
"Better. That was a good catch."
"Thanks. I've gotta go but I figured I should check on you."
"Go on." Cody nodded and left.
Obi-wan could deal with a concussion. Cody would get him up every hour, even though he told him it wasn't necessary.
Tears welled in his eyes as he thought of the memory of his lovers kindness. The sandy planet of Tatooien was lonely. His vision blurred and he sighed knowing, even if he was never supposed to have it, he would never have it again. Cody was gone, not dead, but gone. He was forever out of reach. There was no one to help him, no one to dry his tears and there never would be again.
Whumpril Day 14: Holding back tears/"I said I'm fine."
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Notes: Bear with me. I hate dialogue. Also no beta reader we die like Mayday.
Mando'a used: Cyara: Love. Vod: Sibling
Summary: An unwanted visitor comes to the planet the 212th is on. After being separated from the others Cody and Obi-wan talk.
Obi-wan knew something was wrong when his commander and him had been separated from the others. What was worse was Darth Maul's looming presence. He wanted, more than anything, to keep his soldiers safe. Unfortunately the sith would have other plans.
Cody followed Obi-wan closely. They had gotten lost before, got separated from the others before. Why this time was so different, he didn't know. Obi-wan wasn't outwardly panicked but the man saw right through him. Cody tried to assure him that everything was going to be fine but he didn't seem convinced.
It felt like the two were wandering around aimlessly. Time passed and suddenly Obi-wan felt a disturbance in the force. Fear. Fear was followed by pain and death. It was familiar as in war it practically surrounded him.
Tears started to gather in his eyes. Once more Obi-wan had failed to protect the people he cared about. He failed to protect them over and over. Qui-gon, Satine, all the innocents that got caught in the crossover were gone and maybe if he had been stronger he could have saved them.
Obi-wan's pace started to quicken; not that he hadn't already been walking quickly. Cody took a few larger steps to get in front of the other. "What's going on?" He demanded. "We've been separated from the battalion before, what's nothing you.?" He came off rather harsh, though it wasn't attended to be that way.
Then he saw the tears that Obi-wan tried to keep from escaping his eyes. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." The Jedi pushed past the clone.
"No you're not. W-"
"I said I'm fine!" For the first time Obi-wan snapped at him. The man stopped walking.
"No you're not." Cody remanded calm. "What's going on? What are you not telling me?"
"Maul" he whispered, "it's Maul. I know I'm not supposed to be, but I'm scared, Cody; I'm scared of him. I can't save them, I've never been able to save them from him." Obi-wan started to walk again. "That doesn't mean I won't try." A few tears crawled their way out of his eyes.
Cody wasn't sure what to say. "Cyara, we'll find them. It'll be okay." Words slowly formed, "it's not your fault."
"He's here to hurt me Cody. Not physically. He already found some of the men."
Cody's fear rose. He loved his vods. "We find Maul. I'm not sure what to do from there but we have to do something." The clone was almost walking faster than Obi-wan now.
"Just try to stay close."
The two would walk to find Maul. Rather it was their last fight together they didn't know. Both were terrified, for the path in front of them was unknown. Whatever it was, they would face it together.
They wouldn't find Maul. The message had been delivered. No where was safe. The commanding officers helped the injured. The Jedi informed the council that someone else would have to be sent to the planet.
Tears would border his eyes once more, not brave enough to move any closer. They would betray him if they moved any closer. The Jedi are supposed to care for everything, but this would be different. His emotion needed to stay known to him and him only.
After the call he still couldn't let the tears fall. Obi-wan's men needed a strong leader. He walked out of the woods to the clearing the soldiers rested in. Now to take care of the aftermath of a man's hatred.
Whumpril Day 20: Waiting Room (Alt Prompt 4? 5?)
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Summary: Cody gets hurt and Obi-wan just wants him to be okay.
The waiting room was silent. Obi-wan waited for a nurse or doctor to come and tell him how his commander was. The Jedi was told that Cody had stopped a kidnapping but gotten beaten up and shot in the process. It was just like the clone to protect people. Obi-wan was proud.
The child was fine. The doctor, with parents permission, had told him that a few hours ago. Cody needed surgery for his injuries.
It was quiet, far too quiet. The off white walls felt suffocating. The chairs were hard and uncomfortable. Time felt like it stopped. The clock on the wall taunted Obi-wan. Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like days. Nothing else seemed to matter.
No one else was in the room. Obi-wan couldn't help but think about the people who had been in the room before him. They would've waited the same as him. The pain or relief they felt as the doctor walked in and informed them of how their loved ones were.
Waiting here in this room was painful. Kenobi was helpless, only able to sit and see if the walls would see another person's life fall apart. The four off white walls had watched hundreds of hearts crumble. As long as lives were lost and those walls stood, they would watch time stop and start for people they never knew the story off. They were unable to provide any comfort to the scared loved ones.
The general shifted uncomfortably. He leaned back and took a few deep breaths. Everything had to be okay. For now he would sit here; in this waiting room; using it for its intended purpose. Waiting.
Whumpril Day 21: Scars/Fracture
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Summary: Obi-wan and Maul see each other again. It wouldn't end well.
Obi-wan knew he couldn't outrun Maul forever. Anger was hard to hide from. Now the Jedi ran through the woods; his robes catching on briers. He tripped over a tree root and fell.
Kenobi's ankle had gotten stuck under the roof. Panicked he pulled at it but it wouldn't budge. "No, no, no" he whispered. With the frantic pulling he broke his ankle, but it was free. He yelled from the pain.
Maul closed in. Obi-wan tried to stand but fell back to the ground. Tears flowed down his face. He was tired.
When Maul arrived, Obi-wan readied himself to try to fight. As much as he wanted to just give up, to just stop fighting, he wouldn't; he couldn't.
"This should be fun" Maul hissed. Obi-wan didn't get a chance to fight back. Maul held him down with the force. He laid there in the dark woods as the Zabrak tore at his skin. He didn't use his lightsaber or a knife; but instead his talents.
Kenobi was helpless. Never before had he felt so much physical pain. He wished for it to be over. Death would be kinder to him and when Maul left his body in the woods the animals would treat him better.
Anakin had sensed his brother's panic and had already been looking for him when the sudden rush of pain flooded his mind. Now he ran faster then he thought he could. He couldn't let Obi-wan down.
As time passes Anakin could feel the hopelessness spread in his masters mind. Horse screaming came into earshot and the man used that to locate the other. He skidded to a stop and drew his lightsaber, "hey Maul!"
Darth Maul removed his talents from Obi-wan's skin and stood. "Hello Skywalker."
Anakin rushed Maul. The two's lightsabers clashed. Obi-wan tried to move but pain kept him in place. The younger of the Jedi position himself between the enemies. In the end Maul would be forced to retreat.
"Obi-wan" Anakin swiftly moved over from the injured jedi. Obi-wan tried to give an answer but couldn't. Then the world went black.
It had been a few months since this had happened. The scars that littered his body terrified him. Obi-wan couldn't look in the mirror much anymore. Basic things like changing and showering was difficult when he avoided looking at himself. He grew slightly distant from his loved ones. In his eyes the scars made him unattractive and revolting.
Cody had the combination too Obi-wan's door. It may have been early morning but his general was always up already so he just wanted to make sure he was okay. At this point neither of them saw a point in the commander knocking so he didn't.
The door slid open. Inside Obi-wan sat at the end of his bed, still in a pair of Cody's blacks in which he wore to sleep. "Hey, are you okay? You're normal up already."
"Yeah" Obi-wan answered coldly.
Cody walked over to the bed and sat beside him. "What's going on?"
After a little bit of dancing around the problem, Obi-wan finally opened up. "I just don't like looking at them."
Cody looked puzzled.
"The scars, Cody" Obi-wan sighed."I feel disgusting. I hate them."
Cody moved his hands to grasp the others, "But you survived and those scars prove it. They tell a story of a strong man who lived. Scars or not, you have always been beautiful." Cody cuffed his lover's face, "okay?"
Obi-wan paused. "I'll try to see it that way. You always know just what to say."
"Thanks. Now, you get dressed and we'll go get some breakfast?"
"Okay." After a moment to mentally prepare himself, the Jedi would undress and then dress for the day. The two would head down for breakfast and then go about their day. For the first time that night Obi-wan showered with the lights on. If Cody could still love him, even with every scar, then maybe he could find a way to love himself again the way he once had. For the first time in a while Obi-wan knew everything was going to be okay.
Winter Whumperland Day 9: Jólakötturinn (Left Behind)
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Summary: After Obi-wan and Cody are assumed to be dead and left behind, Obi-wan tries to find a way for the two to survive
Part 2: soon.
It was snowing. Battles in the snow were always somewhat strange. The snow was so elegant and pure yet so deadly. The stains in the snow as well as the footsteps had become something of a warning.
But as the others retreated, Cody wasn't sure what to do. He could barely move. He felt so cold. The snow fell around him, making him look like just another body in the snow.
He needed to get the general to safety. After the clone had been shot, Kenobi stayed near him. He had called for a medic but not to long after, he was shot in the side.
It was unusual for a Jedi to get shot when on the battle field. He had to have been destacted. Cody feared he had been why. They were close, too close for a Jedi to be with someone.
The man tried to call out for someone. His voice never left his throat. It had been a while. Medics had never gotten the chance to find them. The droids hadn't moved forwards yet.
Kenobi regained consciousness. He tried to look around. All he saw at first were bodies. When his eyes landed on Cody, he panicked at first. Then he saw him shift. He was alive at the very least.
"Co-Cody?" His voice shook as he shivered.
The voice brought comfort to Cody. He hadn't even realized Obi-wan was alive. Once more he tried to speak. He tried to stand or even sit up but slipped back into the snow.
Obi-wan looked around again. He realized they had been left behind. But they were alive. Now the two were on their own. He looked down at his injury then back to Cody. He needed to get over there.
Slowly he tried to stand. After a moment, Obi-wan was able to get on his feet. He only walked a few steps before falling to his knees in pain. He half dragged himself the other few feet.
"Dear?"
Cody looked at him. Again the Jedi looked around. The forest wasn't far. The droids would be less likely to find them there. But so would anyone else. Then again, I was likely no one was going to look for them anyway.
It was terrifying. They were alone now. It was cold, they were hurt, and there was no saying if the separatist would take prisoners or if they would kill them on the spot. More than likely, taking a Jedi would be more likely than taking a clone as well.
It looked like it was getting darker. The forest was their best bet for survival. So Obi-wan grabbed Cody's arm and started to drag him to the woods. He barely knew what was going on. The snow would hopefully cover their tracks.
It was painful, for both of them. It took a while to get into the forest and far enough away for Obi-wan to be comfortable resting. When they finally stopped, Kenobi collapsed.
Time passed and he woke up again. It was night now and there were clear sounds of battle droids nearby. Obi-wan looked at Cody. He saw the steady rise and fall of his chest, though he was nervous he was breathing too slowly.
Gently, Obi-wan draped his cloak over the other. He leaned against a tree and pulled him onto his lap, hoping their body heat together could help them.
There was nothing else to think about. The Jedi was left to grapple with the feeling of betrayal by the others. Cody and him were still alive. The two had done so much and had given up everything they could to keep the others alive. Now they were alone in the cold.
But Obi-wan also knew they had to. If they hadn't left them behind, someone could have died. They had to have thought that they had been killed. It was the only answer that brought any sort of comfort to the general.
It didn't change the fact that it hurt. It hurt in the same way the snow against his fingers hurt.
Frostbite was inevitable at that point. Hyperthermia would follow. It was freezing. Obi-wan laid his head against the tree and sighed. He watched his breath disappear. He looked down at Cody.
He was still alive. He hoped the same thing would be true come morning. There was nothing else he could do for now.
A few hours later, Obi-wan was still awake. He couldn't find a way to sleep. There was too much to try and plan for. Getting them out of there in the condition he was in felt impossible. He felt Cody shift. He looked down, tears in his eyes.
As they fell, his face burned. "I don't know what to do" he told Cody. "I'm so sorry."
The clone raised a shaky hand up to the other's face. He tried to dry his tears. Obi-wan smiled slightly. He took Cody's hand in his own and held it. It was more life than he had shown previously so that was at least something. Maybe morning would be kinder to them.
June of Doom Day 4: Punishment
Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars
Summary: After a night at 79s, Obi-wan and Cody are on their way back to the Jedi Temple when Maul Kidnaps the two.
Next part here: (at some point)
The memory of the evening was blurry. He had been near 79s, a popular bar among the clones, on Coruscant with his commander. The two had brought drinks for each other, trying to warsh away some of the terror of war.
It had been late when they wrapped up their night. The sky was as dark as it would be. Some 212th troopers talked to some Coruscant Guard members by the bars entrance.
The two lovers where around five minutes away from the bar when Obi-wan felt it; the looming presence of an old enemy. "Cody dear" he began, "something's not right."
"What wrong?"
"It's-" then strong hands pulled Obi-wan back into an alley.
"Obi-wan!" Cody tried to get to him. Before he could reach him, the world went dark.
The first thing Obi-wan noticed waking up was just how cold the floor Obi-wan sat up. His hands were chains to the wall. Across from him, just barely out of reach, laid Cody. The clones hands were also chained to the wall. Slowly, he sat up as well.
"Cody?"
Concern grew on Cody face. "Obi-wan? What's going on?"
"I'm not sure." On instinct, Obi-wan went to grab his lightsaber. His hands were pulled back by the chains.
The two listened as metal footsteps grew lower.
"Maul." Obi-wan whispered. Fear flooded his mind. Looking over at Cody, he sighed. "It will be okay."
Cody nodded.
"I thought you would be more careful" Maul scowled.
"Hello Maul."
"You took everything from me." Maul started to walk around the room. "I told you I would take everything from you."
"Maul, I believe we are even. Please, stop this. It's not good for either of us. Please, move on."
"You destroyed me!" He yelled, walking quickly over to Obi-wan.
"I'm sorry."
Maul kneeled down to the man and grabbed his face. "Lier!" Harshly, he shoved Obi-wan back into the wall.
"Obi-wan" Cody said, panicked. Maul looked at the clone.
"Just look at me" Obi-wan's voice shook. "Leave him out of this. Please, leave him alone."
"You care to deeply, Jedi."
"Cody has done nothing to you."
"He loves you. He allows you to be happy. That is what he has done to me. That is what I will kill him for."
Obi-wan's eyes glanced over to Cody. He looked frightened. Squirming, the man tried to remove the chains from his wrist. "It's okay" he whispered. "I'm okay." But Obi-wan knew he wasn't okay. Even if he was, he wasn't going to be for much longer.
Standing, Maul slowly walked towards Cody.
"Please, don't hurt him! I'm the one who hurt you, take me! You want us to be even, take my legs, kill me!"
Cody had never seen Obi-wan like that. The sith just laughed.
"It's okay."
"No" Obi-wan whispered. "I'm so sorry." The man's hands had started to bleed from the repeated pressure that were forced upon them as Obi-wan tried to free himself.
There was nothing he could do to stop Maul from hurting Cody. There was nothing he could do as he repeatedly hit him, blood spilling from every new wound.
This was his punishment. Obi-wan wanted it to be just his burden, but instead, the people who were close to him were punished for loving him. Had the Jedi known this would have been his future, he would have made sure to kill Maul. Even if it meant he had to go to the deepest pit of hell to kill him.
Finally, Maul kneeled down to Cody and shoved his cold hand to his face, holding him. Forcing Cody to look him in the eyes, he pressed his nails into his skin.
The look in Cody's eyes that Maul was meant with, was not one of fear, but one of anger. He eyed his crying lover and his gaze softened for just a moment. When Maul jurked his head, Cody spit in his face. Angered, the sith shoved Cody into the floor. Then he stood.
"Cody" Obi-wan whispered.
As Maul walked away, Obi-wan fought against his chains. "Cody!"
Maul chuckled as he walked. He disappeared as he turned the corner in the hall.
"Cody. I'm so sorry. Please, hold on." Tears fell down his face.
"I'm" Cody hissed as he tried to sit up, "okay."
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't ha- I'm sorry." Obi-wan cried.
Giving up on sitting up, Cody laid down. Trying to smile, he looked over to Obi-wan, "It's, not your fault."
"He's trying to get to me."
"Obi-wan" Cody said, his voice just above a whisper. "We'll be okay."
"I'm not worried about me."
"I'll be fine."
The two looked at each other.
Still fighting against his chains, Obi-wan sighed. "I love you" he whispered.
"I love you too." Now they just needed to figure out how to escape.
