Creature Concept - Tumblr Posts
Another creature character, their name is Socky. they used to be human until something happened to them, now they're a winged creature called a csiiyrren (siren). that's what they call themselves, also they're not angelic, they are just socky. they hover most of the time and heights, only using their wings at higher heights or in the sky.
getting back into the beat of making lil creature/species of my own again, here's the first one, call it a Nagialpent, used a lot of crocodile and alligator arm references, but these dudes are big boys of m o I s t habitats or dry ones, depends if ether has a good food source, and they're like 3x the size of the anaconda python.
Another creature dude, it's a Baolft, if you can find out what word combination I used for it's name, but yea it's like canine wyvern with some long sharp claws, these guys are at least 2x bigger than the average grey wolf, also pretty territorial, but good boys.
new critter alert, this is the Boardog, about 9x the size of a malamute. these guys are pretty chill when no provoke, but if you piss it off enough it'll burst into flames and charge at ya!
here's Dolly, some cryptid i made, the floating creature of moss and mushrooms, i can say she was a forest ranger at some point. note:i never really drawn moss before so eh.
i finally did the redesign i was trying to do for a while, I redid one of the pictures from my species, the water skippers. the old design didn't feel like it properly held up what I imagined them to look like. also, the old design is a year old.

Bifanis chrysodora, the Glisamander:
A dopey-looking fish humbly transitioning into a truly amphibious lifestyle. He uses his double dorsal fins to help regulate heat and to ward off buzzy pests.
Mortuhaustus magnificus, the Devorabo:
A lethargic scavenging synapsid-like creature with a tremendous talent for swallowing old bodies whole. His shearing jaws work to separate limb from limb when he comes across something too large. Why worry about getting dirty when everything is bite-sized?
Frankly, I'm not sure who she is, but she's pretty.

Okay, that looks like it hooked you.
You're cool. You probably really like fantastic writing, unique artstyle, fantasy biology, characters with depth, and creative concepts that make you scream and shout. Maybe you like Pikmin, Subnautica, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Renfield, Hannibal, hell even Lethal Company (if you're like me). Maybe you like Star Trek or other SciFi shows (if you're somebody I want to try being one day, except I lack the time and dedication). I can't spoil anything, but if that kind of design or writing appeals to you,
YOU NEED TO WATCH SCAVENGERS REIGN.
I am the girl who can't get into many things. I am the girl who falls out of many more, as soon as they stop gripping at my attention. This show has me on the edge of my seat, screaming and crying and furiously typing and deleting drafts of unaddressed e-mails begging for MORE.
• Art Style & Animation: 10/10, focusing on all of the little gesticulative details that make these characters and creatures feel real.
• Voice Acting: 11/10! Need I say more? Whoever wrote these scripts did AMAZINGLY, and those who voiced them did even better.
• Creature Design: 10/10. All of them are unique and bizarre, with just enough hinting towards evolutionary cohesion to make me want a biological encyclopedia, and maybe three more.
• Sound Design: 10/10. This is your Subnautica. This is your Zelda. This is your Completely Unique From The Aforementioned While Still Making Me Want To Chew Through A Giant Sequoia With Excitement. Also, the sheer amount of detail is riveting.
• Character Writing: 10/10. I am gripped by every single one and I want 80,000 fanfics and I bet my only hand that half of them are going to be you guys simping for Kamen or Sam or literally everyone else oh my gosh. Brilliant representation of an ASD-coded character (and some narcissists with depth!) as well as very intriguing LGBT and heterosexual relationships (romantic and platonic! When was the last time we saw a girl and a guy act normal around each other?) with heartgripping writing and artistic cinematography.
• Literally everything else: 10/10

I also drew my wereleafling Olimar for a pinup zine (and honestly some practice for commissions). I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that I've done this, but hey, it was a very fun exercise.
