I love this.

I’m not quite sure what the hooks are (perhaps the hooks of duty tying them to heal others, perhaps the hooks of fate tying them to the Town, or simply in reference to how some people in the Town say there’s fish hooks in the Gorkhon? Just some theories) but I find them ~very interesting~ and absolutely gorgeous.

The detailing - especially in the fur of Artemy-bear and the scales of Daniil-snake - looks ~incredible~, and bull skull dripping blood? Just feels so ominous? I love it

I’ve been staring at this the last five minutes, and my brain? Going b a l l i s t i c.

I’m just ~loving~ all the little details and care put into this - like- Artemy being positioned so the first thing he sees is the bull - the Town, the earth, etc. - being hurt by the Polyhedron, seeing the Polyhedron as a parasite of sorts, feeding off the life of the Town (the Polyhedron stabbing the heart of the bull), and thus wanting to destroy the Polyhedron so the Town can heal. Daniil being positioned right next to the Polyhedron because he’s first and foremost awed by it, by what it represents as a triumph for humanity over nature, and thus wants to preserve it, even at the cost of the Town.

And Clara, overlooking it all, able to see the whole picture: that the Town and the Polyhedron support each other. (But unrelated, but I think I see a Steppe symbol on the Town-Bull’s shoulder/upper leg? I might be seeing things that aren’t there, but if it was intentional that’s cool as hell)

Sorry if I got any of it wrong - I need to brush up on the Pathologic lore and such. Just - really love this. It’s making my brain overthink. In a good way.

Look: I get I’m looking too far into this and probably need to go to bed because it’s wayyy past my sleepy time. But. The framing. Is so good. And the color. It just - all comes together to make Daniil look so alone, so small, so cold. He’s completely isolated here, both physically, through the framing and through the lack of physical contact due to plague precautions, culturally, and socially due to him being an outsider to the Town, and I ~adore~ how that’s all exaggerated further in this. So good.

Not only is the art ~beautiful~, but the lines, the story! It’s all done so well.

I love how earthy each panel feels - the colors have this- this distinct murk to them, in the best way possible. Really nails the Pathologic feel.

Just finished Chapter 3.

Overall, I gotta say — this entire comic? Incredible. The all the healers feel very in-character.

The blending of Patho 1 and Patho 2 designs + lore?Masterful. Like. When I read through Chap 2 my jaw was on the floor because oh shit? The designs have switched to Patho 2? Is this gonna be a merging of both Pathologics? And it IS?
