I seriously hope that Doakes is forced to question his hypocrisy regarding the Bay Harbor Butcher (aka his coworker). After Dexter, Doakes has the most kills and he kills for the same reasons Dexter does. Doakes could resolve his dissonance by saying he did it in the line of duty. After all, at least he was willing to face punishment for his crimes. That defense doesn't mean much when you consider Doakes' superior was his partner/ lover. When the system is rigged in your favor, it doesn't take much courage to submit yourself to it. This conundrum actually reminds me of Chip Zdarsky's Daredevil run; it deals with the conflict between vigilantism and the legal system.

I've been rewatching Dexter, and I love the show, but he acts sooo suspicious in every episode it's crazy!!! How did only doakes figure him out??? They're all detectives and would probably clock in that he freaks out so much??? Like I'm at ep 6 of season one rn, and every mention of this new case they've found (that he did) he looks like he's gonna throw up and starts stuttering.
no but ppl who are mad that dexter is dead and didn't get to have a father-son bonnie and clyde thing going on with harrison have the same energy as destielies throwing a fit bc dean died instead of living a long life with cass making sandwiches together in a pretty little cottage
