Synopsis: where you try and break up with your boyfriend.

"I JUST WANT TO TALK."
When he said that, you froze up and anxiety lurched at your stomach. You're standing in his modern office like a statue. You're just frozen.
Jay gives a quizzical look and he fixed his blazer. You don't miss the outline of the gun hiding in the belt of his trousers. Your breath stops for a minute.
โLook at me,โ He commands sternly, and you do. You try to hide the subtle shake of your hands and your flickering gaze, but you're afraid he caught on.
โSit, baby. I just want to talk.โ Jay sighed, leaning back against his chair. The only thing that convinces you to do so is the thick desk between you and him; it managed to give you a weak sense of security.
With a slow movement, you sat, and he poked the inside of his cheek.
You don't have the privilege of even thinking straight right now. Since when were you so afraid of your boyfriend?
Was it when he nearly bruised your wrist the other day because you gave attitude.
Or was it when he confiscated your phone because you were on it โtoo much'?
What was it?
Or was it when he confessed for the first time, eyes glittering with expectancy you never wanted to meet.
โI was looking through your phone, you know?โ Jay started, opening a drawer and digging into it. You kept silent, biting your inner cheek.
โAnd, I've discovered something quite interesting. It's quite a shock, really..โ
You don't want him to continue. You can already feel the condescending words about to prick you.
โBut apparently, you want to-" he chuckled in a hollow manner.โ-break up with me?โ
There it was- the sound of your heart sinking, thoughts crashing over each other. Your gaze falls to your lap. Okay- now you regret even texting such words. Not because you feel remorse or guilt of saying them, but because you regret even texting such traceable words.
Unpredictable he was.
โDid I say you could look at your fvcking lap?โ
With a swift motion, you glanced up at him, swallowing hard.
โCare to explain, love? These diabolical texts to your friend?โ He carelessly slid the phone across the table, showing your recent messages with Minji. You have nothing to say, your eyes fixed on the cracked screen, anxiety simmering slowly at your guts.
Your thoughts formulate something to say, something that could please him, but you find nothing but the dirt of the truth.
Silence.
โAre you going to explain or-.โ
โit's true,โ you cut him off softly. You looked up from the phone to see his glower, his frown.
โI want to break up. I've wanted to do it for a few weeks now..โ you trailed off, staring at him straight in the eye.
Jay blinked, tilting his head as he nodded, as if he understood. Though, you knew his buried feelings were igniting right now.
โWhy? I give you my love, gifts, I let you even talk to your friend,โ Jay listed, voice growing louder each time. You swallowed hard again, eyes flickering to the desk.
โI just need space.โ
โSpace? Space, did you say?โ Jay stood instantly but he walked to you slowly, as if to agonise you. It was working because you flinched, breath escaping in short circuits.
โI'm your boyfriend, Yn. Since when do lovers need space from each other?โ Jay scoffed, now standing in front of you. You chewed on your cheek again, eyes downcast.
โYou'reโฆ controlling,โ You uttered so quietly that Jay stepped closer, practically exploding with ferocity.
โWhat did you say?โ Jay snarled, arms trapping you as they rested on the armrests of the seat. With your nerves jumping all over the place, you flinched. Though he doesn't care as he continues to stab your gaze with his.
โControllingโฆ you're controlling,โ You said a bit louder this time, though the smallest tremor accompanies your tone. And, you thought you imagined, but you saw the small smile curl at his lips. Jay puts a soft hand to your cheek, rubbing his thumb right under your eye.
You flinched away a little, but he tightened the grip on your jaw, almost forcing you closer to his face as he tilted his head. โDarling, I'm trying to keep you safeโฆโ
That was his pathetic excuse? His reason to build this wall around you and totally trap you in.
Inhaling sharply, you pushed his hand away, a spark of determination igniting in your eyes. You weren't going to let him do this once more. To trap you within these walls.
Jay almost glared.
โYou're notโฆ trying to keep me safeโฆ we both know that,โ you said sternly, finally holding longer eye contact.
Jay could almost laugh at the confidence, but he finds unimaginable rage washing over him, taking him to a path of darker thoughts. โYou just don't understand. I'm trying to keep. You. Safe.โ
And you shook your head in frustration.
โFrom what?โ You snapped at him, and Jay smiled, eyes leaving yours for a minute.
Before he even met your eyes, you felt a cold metal push at your chin, and your eyes widened a little, a short breath leaving you. You felt your head tilt up, and Jay smiled in a cruel way when he saw the shock that swept over your eyes.
โI'm keeping you safe, baby. From thisโฆโ Jay clicked the metal, sending you to shut your eyes tight, chest tight with distress.
โI don't want to hurt you, Ynโฆ I want you to be unscathed, safeโฆโ Jay continued, the gun now tapping your cheek lightly and you were frozen, voice buried beneath that fear.
You didn't think your boyfriend would ever pull a gun on you, but here you were with his own nefarious weapon pressing on your cheek.
โJ-Jay-.โ
โShh, baby. I know, you don't like this, but I'm proving my point, right? You and I both want you safe, right?โ Jay leaned in closer, gun at your jaw, and your skin burns with terror, shoulders tensing up. When you stayed silent, he pressed the barrel at your jaw more causing you to whimper.
โAnswer me. Don't you want to be safe?โ
โYesโฆโ
Jay gave a soft smile in this dark situation, and he removed the gun from your jaw, causing you to breathe a little, but Jay leaned in, right to your ear. You flinched away, but he doesn't care.
โSo, are you still going to break up with me, baby? You still want to leave my safety?โ He asked lowly, threats falling over your ears. Tears stung your eyes, a shudder pricking your spine.
Biting your lip to shut yourself up, you let out a sniffle; Jay chuckled, still next to your ear.
โDon't cryโฆ it's just better this way, baby. Do you understand?โ Jay gave a deceiving gentle kiss to your ear, making you tear up more.
You can't take this anymore. You just can't. Though, he saw everything through tinted glasses and, instead of wiping your tears, he gripped the gun to your thigh, barrel threatening to bruise your skin underneath and spoke.
"The next time you have such a bizarre idea, I'll be forced to use this,โ Jay said, putting the gun to your shoulder, right at the joint as your breaths became shaky.
โAnd I'll shoot.โ
At this point, your voice was gone, it ran away from reality. You couldn't speak, to which he smiled, kissing your forehead before saying words that flooded you with distress.
โI knew you would understand. I love you, baby.โ

YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU SCREAMED FOR LONG, but one thing you did register is Jungwon's fingers curling around your arm, pulling you back.
Your eyes was fixtated over the bloodied skin, his open eyes staring at the night sky.
"Shit, come on, Yn, stand up!" Jungwon said, his voice trembling and you found the strength in your legs.
Your thoughts were just tangled and intertwined, you couldn't hear a single coherent thought.
"Yn!"
You stood, the sheer shock freezing your nerves as you clung onto Jungwon, and you find yourself and him backing away.
What the fvck just happened? The red lights from his car didn't help. It only added to the darkness surround you and him.
You could almost hear your own heartbeat, staring at the body bag...
"Get in the car." You pulled on his arm. Jungwon nodded wordlessly and he gave you a little push as well.
You barely registered how badly your legs were melting as you pulled the car door open, entering the warmth of the vehicle, but everything felt so cold inside your muscles.
With a slam of his door, Jungwon shakily clutched his phone.
"Um, what happened? We heard you scream?" Yunjin asked, oblivious of what your mind was just tainted with. And you didn't speak for a second.
"Yn, Jungwon?"
Jay gazed at you and him, watching how Jungwon fumbled with his phone, typing in the 3 numbers and latching the phone to his ear. Instinctively, he locked the car doors, realising how they were utterly drowned in darkness, the dark road isolated, crops and plants on either side.
You rubbed your eyes, swiping a hand through your hair and you felt the flashes of the body shock you.
"What the fvck is going on?" Yunjin said again, leaning off her backseat.
"It's... there's a body..."
Yunjin stilled, words and thoughts freezing for a good moment. It wasn't quite processed in anyone's brain. It didn't sound real.
"You're kidding-."
"I'm sorry, did you say body- as in, a dead body?" Jay spoke up but he was in disbelief.
And Jungwon started speaking into the phone, eyes flickering here and there, feeling a little sick. He could almost smell the lingering stench of blood.
"Hello, I need to report something..."
Whilst Jungwon discussed with the police, you couldn't help but feel the looming darkness. The eerie night hung over the car more heavily. You couldn't find your words that were buried deep in your chest.
There was something peculiar about the man. The little stubble on his chin, the wrinkles dented underneath the eyes, the blue fabric over his once-alive body.
The realisation dawned upon you, and your breath came out shaky as you heard Yunjin speak again, trying to ask if you're okay, her hand shaking your shoulder a little.
"I recognise him," You said quietly, staring ahead in the darkness. Yunjin and Jay became quiet, bewildered.
"What do you mean?" Jay murmured.
For a few seconds, you heard Jungwon speak frantically about what he saw into the phone, and then you turned to the two in the back, anxious knots tightening your chest.
"The man... the d-dead body... its the school Janitor."
After a few minutes of waiting on the line and staying frozen in the car, your heartbeat calmed a little. It was still racing, but your nerves weren't going insanely crazy, and your fingers tangled over each other.
Yunjin and Jay kept silent, their head occasionally turning towards the back windshield, seeing the blurred outline of the body bag within the red lights.
And Jungwon's eyes darted around, his fingers picking at his sleeve, his phone heating his ear, but he couldn't even register the increasing warmth over his igniting thoughts.
You couldn't help but try and make yourself feel better, words coming out before you registered them.
"Since he's dead, do you think Jungwon will get arrested?"
Everyone turned to you in silence. Jungwon furrowed his eyebrows, disbelief sweeping across his gaze.
"What the fvck?"
"Sorry."
Their phones light up simultaneously, reminding them that they were somewhat connected to reality outside of the traumatic event you and Jungwon witnessed.
Though it was just Heeseung asking about desserts and Jay scowled, muttering a "he just doesn't give up".
Where you did find Heeseung to be comforting in... strange ways, you found it more comforting when flashing blue and red lights caught your gaze from the mirrors of the car.
The sirens peirced the silence of the isolated road, 2 vehicles pulling up in front of Jungwon's car, securing the area. Everyone practically deflated, you and Jungwon especially.
A few officers exited, talking into their radios as they sauntered to the windows, knocking thrice. Jungwon instantly put the windows down, heart racing.
They started off introducing themselves, one officer at your side and another at Jungwon's. They asked for names first before everyone had to get out the car despite the creeping anxiety.
Hugging yourself, you stood next to Jungwon and Yunjin, the air growing chilly. Maybe it was only colder because you refused to move a muscle.
More police officers gathered around the body, their radios buzzing as messages were transacted. You're glad Yunjin and Jay didn't need to witness that.
You were snapped back to reality when a kind voice spoke to everyone. You glanced to see a young man, black hair and full lips. You saw his sympathetic smile and he held a little, black notepad.
"Hi, I'm officer Sim Jaeyun, I'm going to take in statements," He introduced himself. Though, Jay perked up, glancing at Jaeyun with a spark in his eye.
"Bro?" Jay uttered, stepping forward. The officer glanced, a similiar spark in his eyes.
"Braur?" Jaeyun said back, and everyone witnessed them approaching each other, dabbing one another. It was honestly the most weirdest thing to be fair.
Jay smiled a little before turning to you and the other two, sensing the confusion.
"Ah right, Jaeyun- I mean, Jake, used to be my study partner. We took different courses but they aligned pretty well."
Oh right- Jay took forensics before dropping out that path before he got hit with the difficulty.
It was a nice little reunion, but no one said anything, frankly too apprehensive.
"And they're my friends. We were about to get dessert, but y'know, those plans are ruined..."
Jake shook his head softly, smiling at everyone. He held his notepad, sighing.
"I didn't think my reunion with you would be at a crime scene." Jake breathed, looking at Jay and the others with concern.
An awkward laugh escaped Jay's lips and he scratched his nape.
"Yeah, it's not ideal..."
You stared blankly at the ground, mind slowly crumbling. You shuddered and Jay noticed, worry twinkling in his eye.
Jake spoke again. "I transferred a few weeks ago. So, to be fair, this is my first case right now."
Everyone kind of listened, the chill of the wind grazing everyone's skin, hair messing up slightly. Jake decided to set everything down to business as he cleared his throat, and flipped his notepad.
"I'll take statements. Who found the body first? I'll probably take their statement first."
You and Jungwon perked up. You don't know what it was, but the actual idea of seeing a dead body, a person that smiled at you this morning kind of haunted you. And for Jungwon, he didn't imagine his night turning out like this, the police making it so much more real for him.
"Me and Yn... found it," Jungwon chimed quietly, calmly. And Jake nodded, gesturing for you and him to walk closer.
Following his orders, the two separated from the other two, and feeling as if the air escaped their lungs. Even if it was windy and there was plenty to be shared.
Keeping his professional stance, Jake clicked his pen and looked at Jungwon.
"I guess you were the one driving?"
Jungwon nodded, eyes flickering as if his thoughts were drawn to some other place in his head. "Yeah..."
"And, where were you going?" Jake inquired, writing down briefly with a brisk scribble.
Now that you thought about it, you felt bad for prompting this whole trip the dessert shop- you only planted yourself in trouble and now, you were stuck with a memory you and him never wanted.
"A dessert shop. We were going to the new one that opened up.." Jungwon uttered, gaze shifting again, arms playing with his long sleeves.
Jake just nodded and he continued with the generic questions of did you see anything suspicious and all of that. But you stayed silent, reality becoming a fuzz to you. You didn't even hear Jungwon calling your name.
"Yn?" Jungwon said sternly, nudging your side and you flinched, eyes snapping back to Jake.
"Oh.. sorry," You murmured, finding yourself inhaling deeply, the anxiety fogging up your lungs.
Jake nodded and just turned to you.
"Same thing, I presume?"
You honestly didn't hear Jungwon speaking.
"I... yeah. The dessert shop... and then we ran over something hard... and the body..." you trailed off, remembering the Janitor's gentle look before you left the campus.
It just didn't seem real. You must be imagining things...
"Yn? Are you okay?" Jake asked, inching closer to you and causing you to nod aimlessly.
"I recognise him..."
Jungwon gave you the same curious look as Jake began to listen closer.
"Really?"
"The Janitor at school. He.. I'm pretty sure it's him..."
"And what school do you guys go to?"
"Youreun University," You replied automatically. It just terrified you that someone you met this morning had completely been robbed off their life.
With your growing apprehension, Jake nodded and wrote down the scribble. "Thank you. Do you need some water or anything? You look a little... dazed."
Jungwon and Jake saw you shake your head, giving a grateful smile, but your eyes were glued back to the body bag surrounded by officers.
And suddenly, your urge to apologise to Jungwon kind of grew.
"You won't arrest us, right?" You said, and Jake had to restrain a smile.
"No, no, of course not. There's not really evidence you guys did anything. Besides, you guys have given me some alibis. We'll just check that and you will probably be free to go." Jake ruffled his hair in the wind, brown locks flying around.
Jungwon deflated at the news and you nodded, wanting to reach home. The sweet desire of dessert was completely dry in your head, and to be fair, you did need some water. And your bed.
"How do you recognise him? Are you related or...?"
"No, I just happened to bump into him t-this morning," You replied, rubbing your own arm, suddenly feeling the chill of the night.
Jake nodded and sighed, asking a few more questions before he relaxed on the statement-taking.
Jungwon's eyes trailed back to the body, being able to see the faint dry blood on the man's neck, and his eyes were forced closed. He shuddered.
After taking a short statement from Yunjin and Jay, they all stood on one side of the road with Jake giving a reassuring smile to everyone.
"So, are you here for good?" Jay asked Jake, arms crossed. Jake nodded.
"Yeah, if I impress my boss," Jake muttered, suddenly having his face morph into somewhat distress at the mention of his superior. Everyone stared.
"You looked like you saw a ghost- is your boss bad or something?" Jay uttered, joking but when Jake stared back with the same startled expression, everyone kind of basked in the silence.
Sheepishly scratching his head, Jake gathered his words.
"It's not that he's bad... he's just a bit... how do I say it-?"
Before Jake could continue, a voice broke him out of his speech and a man approached them, tall with shoulders back, black hair, almost into a mullet with a blue jacket over his attire.
"Jake, I've been looking for you."
He winced and turned back to Jay with a whisper.
"Melodramatic," Jake finished his sentence and everyone heard it, a small smile tugging at the lips.
His boss sauntered over, a mask over his face, which he pulled down to fully examine everyone, obviously a little tedious at the sight. It wasn't everyday that you saw 4 university students and a dead body.
"Did they find the body, officer Sim?"
He was quick to answer, nodding. "Yes, sir. And I took the stat-."
"The statements? Good. You're kind of getting used to this."
Jay had to hold back a smirk as he gave a discrete side-eye to Jake. The officer simply smiled, though it was so little.
"And, do their alibis match? Do you think they're suspects?" His boss asked once more, looking at his phone momentarily. Jake shook his head, keeping up his polite stature.
"No, sir. I think they're all good to go. Of course, if you think so," Jake uttered, hands behind his back. Then, the man finally looked at you and the others, scanning each one before nodding, acknowledging.
"Nice to meet you despite such unfortunate events. I'm DCI Kim Seokjin, I'm leading this investigation," he introduced himself, bringing out these small business cards to hand to you and the others.
Hesitantly taking it, everyone just looked in silence, bowing slightly out of courtesy.
"Well, if officer Jake thinks you are free to go, I'll trust his word. And don't worry, we'll solve this quickly- don't dwell on it."
But that thought, for you and Jungwon, seemed to be much further than you could reach within an arm's length. The shudder that ran through your spine was noticeable and you hugged yourself tightly, the wind brushing your skin.
Seokjin nodded and gave a curt smile, thinking he was done here. "Please go home. I'm pretty sure university students don't want to be out this late after what you guys have seen."
The ride back home was silent to say the least. You couldn't even hear yourself breathe over the engine and the sound of the wheels rolling along. You sighed, rubbing your eyes briefly.
Yunjin couldn't dare to ask and interrupt your silent trance, wanting to ask much more. But she knew better and left you alone.
And Jay ignored how his phone kept vibrating with Heeseung exploding with tweets on twitter. Silently scowling, he turned his phone to silent before looking at Jungwon, who stiffly drove, lips tightly shut.
The apology was right at your lips, but you didn't really say anything, feeling sick. The smell lingered in your nose, forcing your stomach to shift.
"You okay?" Jay asked, breaking the brittle silence.
With a small sigh, you nodded with your head planted somewhere else. "Yeah.."
Jungwon couldn't say anything, eyes flickering around as if he was searching for something. Though, no one questioned it.
So when Jungwon dropped you and Yunjin home, he didn't say anything, eyes focused on his steering wheel. Jay slipped into the front seat, giving a concerned glance to his friend.
"You haven't said a word since we got in the car. You okay?" Jay asked, buckling the seatbelt. Jungwon responded with a sigh, nodding as he glanced around the street cautiously.
"I'm fine. I just need sleep to be honest," Jungwon murmured, which was partially true. After all that his mind was completely dragged through the mud, and he wanted to just get home and forget about it.
Jay understood and nodded, facing the front.
He didn't realise the way Jungwon shuddered when he started the car again, trying to get rid of the goosebumps flaring across his arms and neck.
It wasn't a long drive to Jay's dorm, and Jungwon couldn't even muster a wave before driving off, feeling the roads get lonelier.
He was just pondering, his gaze flickering back and forth. It just didn't seem real that he saw death again. The lifeless eyes.
He breathed shakily, gulping hard as he returned home, the goosebumps engraved in his skin.
He wanted to forget the look, the mere display of death and the paranoia that was starting to become more prominent the more he walked up to his front door and entered his home.
In the proximity of his house, he finally relaxed, absolutely withered and shaken with apprehension. To be fair, he didn't even think about brushing his teeth before he dropped to his bed and finally went on his phone.
He simply ignored the email regarding his film project and tapped onto twitter.

How you even made it to university the next day was a mystery. You and Yunjin sauntered through the halls, and you were tired.
Your eyes had slight bags under them, and you were still cautiously darting your eyes around the school halls. It seemed normal. Like the news hadn't slipped into the crowd.
And you were daydreaming so much, you didn't realise you bumped into Sunoo, who was leaning on the wall, playing a game on his phone and he made a little "oof" sound.
Yunjin tugged you back by the sleeve and glanced to your zoned-out state.
Upon seeing Sunoo, you sheepishly smiled.
"Sorry, Sun," You murmured, stepping back a little. He smiled, pausing his game.
"It's fine. You seem a little stressed. Or.. dizzy. Are you about to pass out??" Sunoo lists frantically, suddenly sending a hand flying to your forehead, checking for any temperature.
You flinched away a little, giving a roll of the eyes. "I'm not going to pass out," You said defensively.
Sunoo took his hand away, pouting. "You certainly look distracted. What's up?"
Yunjin and you exchanged glances, considering whether or not to tell him what atrocities was deeply buried in your memory. Sighing, you gestured for him to come closer until you, Yunjin and Sunoo were huddled in a bizarre circle.
"Don't tell anyone, okay?" You blinked at Sunoo.
Too eager to know, he nodded and his gaze was perplexed but curious.
You never imagined having to say these words in your entire life.
"Well, you know how we went out last night?"
Sunoo hums in response, tilting his head.
"Well, we were on the way to get dessert. We tweeted it, remember?"
"Oh, I wasn't really on twitter last night... I didn't see it," Sunoo said, smiling awkwardly. You shrugged and dismissed it.
"It's fine. But we maye have... um... how do i say it... ran over a dead body and... you know, we had to call a police-."
"I'm sorry, what!?" Sunoo exclaimed, startling both you and Yunjin. She shushed him, a finger on her lips and glaring slightly.
Sunoo covered his mouth, apologetic before he uncovered it.
"A dead body. Are you being for real?" Sunoo whispered in the little huddle. Yunjin nodded, shuddering a little.
"We called the police obviously... and we were let go." You sighed, playing with your hair a little. Though, Sunoo couldn't get the startled look out of his expression. It stayed firmly in his eyes.
"That's crazy. I can't... believe it," Sunoo muttered, stepping back from the huddle with concern. You and Yunjin stayed silent for a moment.
"Just don't tell anyone, Sunoo. I don't think we need people to look and point fingers at us." Yunjin sighed, eyeing the crowd around her as if they were discreetly listening.
Sunoo nodded slowly, taking his time to process the events.
In silence, you, Yunjin and Sunoo walk to class, expecting to meet Jungwon and Jay at the top where their designated seats are. But to your surprise, they weren't.
As you and Yunjin were about to follow Sunoo, the professor steps over.
Sunoo glanced over his shoulder quizzically and you stared back with a concerned shrug as to why you and Yunjin are being held up. The curiosity and apprehension bubbled in both you and Yunjin.
The professor smiles awkwardly.
"Miss Choi, Miss Huh, the principal wants to meet you in the office," He said quietly over the half-filled classroom. Although, you could definitely feel one or ten gazes pricking your sides.
"Did he say why?" Yunjin replied.
"I'm afraid not, but I was told to pass the message on."
And you and Yunjin give a little glance to each other, obviously cautious, but the professor ushers you and her away from the class, from Sunoo, who had already sat at his seat.
With the hallways nearly empty now that you and her were pushed out, she turned to you with a snap of a head.
"Are we going to get suspended or something?" She mumbled, looking with wide eyes. You honestly don't know- heck, your mind was still quite cloudy with everything from last night.
The weight of the situation kind of catches up to you. What if it was about last night?
"I... do you think its about last night?" You said whilst walking with Yunjin.
She sighed, puffing her cheeks momentarily as she was buried deep in her thoughts. "It could be. But... what would he say? I mean, the police said we're free to go.."
You thought it was ludicrous to be asked again about last night. You try not to imagine the bridge you're about to cross to re-enter last night's events.
Arriving at the office, there was already a faint mutter within. Yunjin gave a polite knock and, after a few moments, the door opened for them.
Inside, Jay and Jungwon were already seated on one of the couches, bodies tensed up. Yunjin and you blink a few times before seating yourselves on the opposite side.
Oh, here it goes...
The Principal pushed back his glasses over his elderly eyes and he stands in front of his desk.
"I'm sure you're aware of what happened last night..?"
Everyone hummed in a small response and nod, staring at the principal in silence.
"And I hope you all are okay, right?"
Everyone gave a little murmur of agreement and the principal gave a sympathetic smile. He leaned on his desk, and it looked like he was searching for something to say.
"I'm sure you don't want to remember something so traumatic," The principal started, looking at you. You swallowed down the memory and looked at your fingers.
"And, since the police are investigating it, I'm happy to push this behind us."
Everyone stilled a little bit. You glanced at the principal with a hint of disbelief. You wanted to forget about it.. but you didn't expect the principal himself to throw away the key for you.
And Jungwon gave you a skeptical glance, equally as confused.
"So... you expect us to forget about it? You're telling us not to talk about it?" Jay chimed up with confusion.
The Principal sighed a little, expecting this little arrow of doubt. And he nodded in agreement. "I understand, Jongseong. But, we have a few events and festivals coming up. And I'm sure... you do not want to talk about it.."
Jay stared at the ground, pondering. And everyone considered that not talking about it was the better side of the fence. You didn't want to have that news spread around, but you also hate the paranoia that bit you when you thought about the Janitor's body.
"So, do we agree, dear students? I don't want this to affect your grades if people start bringing it up. Awkward, is it not?" The principal pressed on it even more.
Since no one protested anymore and argued internally, he nodded and smiled at everyone. Though, you know that your friends were all flooded with the same kind of bewilderment you had.
"I know it may be hard to forget. But, the police have told me everything. It's in my greatest confidence that nothing like this will happen again. So, if we are all happy here, you can go now."
When the four were walking to English, no one said anything, the conversation lingering in the air. And it bothered you greatly.
Jay huffed, gripping his backpack a little tighter and scoffed.
"Forget about it? We're just supposed to shut up about it because of the upcoming festival," Jay interjected, clearly astonished.
"Apparantly. What do you expect from Yoreun?" Yunjin uttered, walking along still.
What were you expecting? The police were investigating, they talked to the school and they also tried to reassure you and the others once again. You kept your thoughts spinning and sighed, finding the logic within all this.
"I guess I can't blame them." You said softly, changing your mind from before. Perhaps forgetting was better for you and for the school.
The others looked at you quizzically, eyes stuck on you.
"You can't blame them?" Yunjin chimed, looking forward again, an empty smile on her lips.
"I mean, I don't think I want to talk about it anyway."
Maybe it was because you didn't want the school to email parents, to email your dad that the university his daughter was going to, was being targeted by a killer. Sounded dramatic in your head, but you don't think you could find the energy to actually build a speech to give to your dad to say why you're completely fine where you were.
Jungwon could get what you meant, and he shrugged. "I guess they need their cash. And this festival is their way."
"I guess so- greedy school. How could I forget?" Jay spoke, joking a little bit.
"Still, it feels wrong to just ignore it, you know?" Yunjin said again, the weight of the situation dawning on her. It was a literal murder of someone that went to this school.
Shouldn't there be a few misses days, more police cars around the University campus? But there were no cars shielding the area- it was a normal day.
English literature was as boring as ever. As you typed on your computer and tried to concentrate, you caught a glimpse of Sunoo sneakily on his phone, scrolling through something with blaring headlines.
'Man found brutally murdered'
It caught your eye and you turned your head fully to gently nudge Sunoo. He turned in response and saw your eyes glued to the article.
With a silent exchange, he slid the phone over to you and you immediately read through, putting yourself in the memories of last night again.
It was on the news. Heck, it was trending. You recognised the road and the silent video played, showing a news reporter in front of yellow tapes and roaming officers. You felt like you were there again as you held your breath.
And a picture popped on screen, showing the Janitor's once-alive face, a smile that he once gave you when he opened the door for you.
A shudder crept up your spine as you paused the video and slid the phone back wordlessly.
As much as you wanted to forget, you don't know if you could.

"I'm not going to lie, yn, how are you in school today?" Sunoo chirped up as soon as class ended. His gaze focused on you, but they were concerned.
You shrugged, rubbing your exhausted eyes, not knowing what to rebute his statement with.
"I can't miss class."
"Yeah, but you can't just ignore what happened," He remarked, taking out the white medicine bottle out his bag before packing everything else up.
You packed up as well, and students slowly left their seats in a line. You stared, waiting and noticed Sunoo taking 2 pills this time. And you raised an eyebrow.
"2 pills?" You spoke without thinking, eyeing the white tablets. Sunoo smiled awkwardly and gave a dismissive wave.
"I haven't been sleeping well to be honest," He replied but he was neutral about it as he zipped his bag.
You nodded, letting him do what he needed before turning to the others who were lazily packing up. Your gaze went to Jungwon right next to you as he sighed, eyes focused on his bag and getting his belongings in.
With a quiet voice, you spoke.
"You okay, Jungwon?"
With a quick turn, he glanced at you and sighed, nodding. "Yeah."
He still looked deep in thought despite his clear answer.
The mood was turning heavier, clouding that positivity you were trying to hook on to. So, understandably, you try initiate a joke, you know, to smoothe out this thick gloom hanging over the friend group.
"At least no one knows you're in your hit and miss phase-."
Before you could finish the sentence, his finger collided with your forehead to give a stinging sensation at your temple. You hissed, whining as you recoiled back a little bit.
"Jungwon, what the fvck?" You snapped at him, holding your forehead as if you were hit with a stone. Though, he gave a little shrug, that look of smugness creeping in his unbothered smile.
"Stop making these stupid jokes. They're ass," he spoke, tilting his chin up and ignoring the glare you threw him.
Though, you couldn't argue for long before psychology was in about 5 minutes. So, without getting your desired revenge, you waved by to the others and walked to psychology.
How you managed to balance the two was still unknown. It took a lot of all-nighters, coffee and a dream.
Upon entering psychology, the teacher hadnt arrived, meaning you could actually settle down before the class started drilling information in.
Of course, you sat next to Minji, Heeseung and Chaewon; they sat at the back, conversing in their own little circle, particularly interested in Chaewon's phone.
"Hey, guys," You greeted them with a small smile. Minji ushered you over and so you listened, hunching over the phone to see what they were so deeply invested in.
And your heart sank a little, seeing the familiar face of the Janitor loom on the screen and your heart shook a little. Today was just not going in your favour.
Though, the other 3 were silent- even Heeseung- until the video ended and he sighed, letting out a puff of air. Minji and Chaewon have this blank look in their eyes, but Chaewon grabs your hand, tugging you to sit down.
"Have you heard about it? It's literally all over the news," Chaewon said, eyes doe in shock.
Oh girl, you have no idea, you thought.
"That's so crazy, I swear I have seen him somewhere before," Minji commented, sat back in her seat and she was dazed.
"Well yeah, the news reporter said he worked here as the Janitor." Heeseung ruffled his hair.
Your eyes were downcast for a moment before you chewed on your lower lip.
"Have you heard about it, Yn?" Heeseung chimed, focusing on your docile state.
But, you snapped out of it, ignoring the foggy thoughts in your head. "Yeah... I have heard of it. But let me tell you guys a secret."
They all turned to you, intruiged and you leaned forward, concealing the conversation to this inner circle.
"What secret?" Minji urged on, her eyes brimming with curiosity. And it seemed that Heeseung and Chaewon also leaned in.
You took a deep breath and told yourself, you could trust them.
"I was there. You know the tweets last night about how Jungwon ran over something?" You turned to Heeseung.
With a nod, he urged on, but you felt like he already knew.
"Well, it wasn't just anything. It... was him. The Janitor. We found him last night," You said slowly, hiding the tremor in your voice.
The silence hung in the air, all of them processing it but Chaewon's jaw dropped a little before she let out a forced puff of air.
"You're kidding. Are you being serious?"
"That's why you couldn't get me ice cream.." Heeseung mumbled, distraught. And Minji scowled.
"Will you shut up about the ice cream?"
"Yeah, it's kind of embarrassing considering your tweets last night," Chaewon grumbled, reminding Heeseung of his little series of grateful confessions
"Never. I was anticipating that. I didn't know that would happen," He defensively exclaimed and you gestured to him to keep the sound down.
Right now, the news didn't say who found the bodies, so you would like to keep it that way, locked away from the world.
"Yeah. We were en route to the dessert shop when... we found it. We went home straight after."
"Which is understandable. Oh my gosh, you saw a dead body... of someone who worked here..." Minji added on and she gave a little reassuring pat on the arm.
You smiled softly, hiding how your mind was still buzzing with the images of the grotesque body.
"Yeah... me and Jungwon uncovered it but..." you shuddered a little, failing to hide the shiver sweeping your body. All of them were obviously concerned but Heeseung sighed.
"Me personally, I would never think about going to dessert shops ever again," He said, eyes widening. And the girls glared at him with a slow turn onf their heads, to which he shrunk back in his seat with a guilty smile.
He didn't try to save himself, but you smiled at his comment. Because you think it's true- you would think more than twice before trying to go to a dessert shop and not expect to think of this moment.
Sighing, you patted the girls' arms and you huddled in again.
"Just... don't tell anyone. Please." You looked to them, eyes landing on Heeseung. And he nodded, as he glanced down.
"Don't worry about it."
Chaewon hugged your arm, pouting with her concern rising in her grip. "Don't worry about the death either. I'm pretty sure it's a one-time thing."
Everyone murmured in agreement, attempting to drain the tension surrounding the news. You were somewhat grateful they were trying, and it worked for a few seconds as your muscles relaxed.
"Yeah, it has to be a coincidence... we have that fundraising festival coming up. I don't think the school would want to cancel it." Heeseung reassured your composure.
"Yeah... a coincidence." You heard yourself mutter, once again sensing your own uneasiness.

THE THURSDAY MORNING YOU WENT BACK INTO SCHOOL WAS PEACEFUL.
Yunjin was at dance club this early in the morning, so you were walking into campus by yourself. English was in a few minutes, and so you decided to go pick her up from the dance studio.
You tried to drop the idea of the murder circulating on the news and sauntered through the halls whilst you gripped your phone.
Students chattered normally as you checked your phone, seeing an email saying, 'CLUBS'.
Curious, you tapped on it and it ended up saying how sign-ups for the clubs were happening tomorrow. It would allow some extracurricular activities which would 'bedazzle' someone's resumรฉ, and also would help out at the fundraiser happening some point this month.
You sighed, shutting off your phone only to see the same exact message on the main school bulletin board, the poster summarising better than the email.
Perhaps a club wasn't so bad. Maybe it could decorate your skills. You shrugged and sauntered to the busy dance studio.
Music blared from inside, the melody becoming more audible the more you neared the doors. The Thursday sounded much more energetic that what you felt on this school morning.
Not 5 minutes after, the music absfuptly stopped; she came out whilst zipping up her crimson jacket and waving to you with an eye-smile.
"Let's go~," Yunjin sang and pulled you along with her.
"How do you even get energy to dance in the morning?" You sighed. She replied with a chuckle.
"Well, we have no other time where our schedules line up. I know Kazuha has law when we finish English," Yunjin said casually, and she started talking about her dance and the moves they were doing.
You were listening intently, you really were. However, you were pulled away from the course of the conversation when you saw a few intrusive gazes pricking your figure. Not just yours, but also Yunjin.
Glancing around, you then heard the whispers passing by the students and your heart felt a sting of anxiety. What the hell were they looking at?
"Yun?" You snapped her out of her talk, making her glimpse at your concerned expression.
"Call me crazy, but is everyone staring at us?" You asked her quietly, shying away from the gazes of others. With a swift look, she did indeed see that people were glimpsing at you and her, as if to confirm your identity before falling into complete shock.
"Yeah, you're not crazy. It's happening. But why..?" Yunjin replied, voice shrinking down as you listened. You gave a shrug and headed over to English, trying to block out the not-so subtle stares.
At least they could have been more secretive about it- this whole attention caused the type of warmth in your cheeks that came from humiliation. Something you loathed feeling.
Yunjin pretended not to notice as she linked arms with yours, wanting to also move on with the day without her ears tinting pink. You appreciated her comforting touch, and walked towards the English classroom.
Not before you turned a corner and bumped into someone. More like 2 people- ones that made you scowl.
Minhee and Han.
Both of them returned an insipid glare, making you step back from them, and Yunjin rolled her eyes.
"Well, well, well... if it isn't Yn... surprised to see you here," Minhee started, voice dipped in venom in an attempt to intimidate you.
Turns out that even university kids could be absolute pricks with their personalities being more thorny than ever.
With a sigh, you quirked an eyebrow at this sudden statement. "What do you want?"
"Hey- don't get sassy on me, I just wasn't expecting to bump into you and Yunjin."
Yunjin clicked her tongue, grinding her teeth before speaking. "What the fvck is that supposed to mean? Why wouldn't we be in school?"
Minhee and Han give a little face of realisation, fake epiphany as they looked at each other with a secret conversation between their eyes. Han turned to you, to both of you, to reply.
"I mean, after all that, I wonder why the school let you come back." Han smirked a little, causing the confusion to cloud your fraught thoughts.
"What do you mean?" You glared at him again with confusion. What did they even mean by that? What could they possibly be thinking of that made them conclude you wouldn't be allowed back at school?
Minhee chuckled and crossed her arms, brown eyes scanning yours meticulously to see that you were genuinely lost at sea from their words. Sighing, she stopped grinning.
"Don't act dumb. You were at the crime scene, right?" Minhee accused.
Your heart froze a little and Yunjin visibly stilled as if she wasn't breathing. With bewilderment, you just stared at Minhee.
This must be a joke...
"That must mean, yes?"
"How did you even hear-?"
"People talk," Minhee abruptly said, cutting you off. She scoffed. "Like you talked, didn't you?"
Fvck. Your eyes flickered, remembering you told Minji, Chae and Heeseung yesterday. It was the matter of which one actually revealed it. You still stayed silent, and you could feel Yunjin staring at you.
"Who the fvck told you anyway?" You snapped back at her, making her glare momentarily.
"Who? I heard it start in the computer science majors. They seemed hot about the topic, and I just couldn't help but stop by their table. And they mentioned the crime scene."
Now who the fvck was in computer science and how did they attain the information you passed on? The regret bit back at you harshly, gnawing at your brain as you kept your teeth clenched.
"Yn, you told someone?" Yunjin asked softly, not mad, but rather a bit apprehensive.
"I.. I told Minji, Chaewon and...." you stopped talking, and then your fists clenched.
"Heeseung."
For the life of him, Heeseung could never sew his mouth shut- why did you even trust him? He may not tell a throng of people through a megaphone, but he would run his mouth to one of his other mates in the other classes.
The betrayal anchored you a little before feeling your own fingers fiddle with the corroded surface of your green nails.
"I mean, why the school let you in? They haven't even completed the investigation and you're back in school? That's bizarre," Han added on, pondering with insincerity.
The urge to cuss at them shot up exponantially, but you kept your lips shut and now, you just want to get to class without the mass of people throwing their arrows of accusation at you.
"Maybe because we didn't do it?" you retorted to the two. They didn't make sense- at all. Oh gosh, this was everything you didn't want in the week.
Minhee and Han struggle to stop smiling and their grins stay prominent.
"Oh please, you just conveniently found a dead body?" Minhee taunted, stepping forward a little. You're not wavering and you stood your ground with the firm glare.
"Unfortunately so. But we didn't do it. There's no evidence to point to that. Thought you should know that from how much you run your mouth about taking law," you remarked, the bitterness stinging your tone.
Her gaze flashed with plain irritation at your words. "Watch your words with me- what are you? Some psychologist? A poet? I could be the one ruining your life later on."
"From what? Get a grip, Minhee," you muttered back to her, not leaving any stone of your anger unturned. Han and Yunjin watched whilst you and Minhee give verbal rebuttal to each other.
"Watch it, yn. You're getting so mad over the truth," Minhee scoffed, tilting her head. And it did piss you off, your chest tightening with curses and frustration.
"Well guess what? We're not suspects, none of us are."
And you nudge past her shoulder with Yunjin before turning around and saying one more snide remark.
"Oh, and no one likes lawyers anyway."
.
.
.
After that eventful affair of texting, you and Yunjin finally made your way to English. No doubt that people were staring at you, and unfortunately, the twitter post actually blew up.
So, you and Yunjin only attracted whispers and gazes as if you and her were magnets for drama.
Pulling silently on Yunjin's hand, you climbed the steps and went to your designated seat next to Jungwon and Sunoo. With the same bewildered gaze, Jungwon turned to you discreetly.
"So... everyone knows." Jungwon breathed next to you. You felt the tickle in your ear, but you were so anchored by the stress, that sensation was crushed.
"Yeah... I may have told my psychology friends."
"Yn, are you serious?" Jungwon raised an eyebrow, rosy lips in a slight frown.
"But, wait- i told them not to tell anyone," you remarked quietly before he could even let that anger hit you. Jungwon scoffed, looking briefly back at his computer.
"And how did that go because now we're trending on twitter." Jungwon gave a stern side-eye, to which you pursed your lips.
Regretfully.
You sighed before grabbing your laptop and nodding. "Look, I fvcked up because I told Heeseung. On that note, hold on."
You grabbed your phone from your pocket, and your main goal was to hunt down where the heck Heeseung was to have a courteous and firm conversation.
-----
The cafeteria was a nice place to relax after class, and you practically ran to the usual corner to avoid people's stares. It was like the walk of shame going through those hallways, even though you and the others haven't done anything remotely wrong- you guys weren't even suspects.
Even with that reassuring conclusion, your fingers couldn't held pick at your lip, peeling off the dried skin and then eliciting a sting in your flesh. And your nails were eroding from their pretty green colour.
Though, you didn't wince, you simply sat down and melted into the grey couch, and so did the others. Yunjin was next to you, leaning on your shoulder, and the boys were on the opposite side.
"I'm sorry, guys. I shouldn't have told Heeseung..."
Jay kind of snickers and shrugs, whilst Jungwon played with the sleeves of his black hoodie.
"I mean, it was bound to happen. You just catalysed it," Jay said, glancing at you for a moment, a small grin on his face.
Still, even if it was inevitable, your skin crawled with guilt: yesterday, you wanted to fully forget about it, but now it was practically being shoved in your face by other students because of your careless action. Not just you, but to all your friends.
"Not the day i imagined to be having," Yunjin chimed, looking at her phone, seeing that the 'meya' user got about five thousand interactions with her exposing post.
Meaning that five thousand (and more) saw you tell Minhee to kill herself.
You groaned into your hands, body slipping and slouching down the couch in pure embarrassment. The others chuckled.
"I mean, if you're worried about Minhee, she's a bitch anyway. That tweet was pretty deserved to her," Jay said, looking at his phone and snickering at the screen.
"Yeah, I know she is, but I acted out of impulse." You sighed, uncovering your face. Jungwon peered at you, mischief sparkling in his eyes.
"For once," Jungwon scoffed, giving a small smirk at you. Raising an eyebrow, you glared at him.
"What's that supposed to mean? You find it funny?"
"I mean yeah- you never go off on people like that. But this time you did, it's actually amusing."
Yunjin and Jay rolled their eyes at this arising bicker, already sensing the series of pointless insults about to be thrown.
"Are you saying I'm not funny right now?" You sat up in your seat, crossing your arms, to which Jungwon tilted his head, hid black locks sweeping over his head. And it made you want to grab his hair-.
Woah- that's another impulsive thought. Your neck crept with an unfamiliar heat.
"You said it, not me. You're kind of stuck-up, robotic, if you ask me," Jungwon remarked, the smug smile never leaving his festures even thought it was small. With a scowl, you glared more.
"Robotic? Bruh, I'm logical. There's a difference."
"Yet they sound the same coming from you," Jungwon retorted, challenging your word. If you weren't infuriated before, you were now. You saw him cross his arms, tipping his chin up at you in confidence.
As if he dared you to even talk back to him.
Before you could even throw another insult, Yunjin held you back. "Have you guys heard about the clubs?"
"Ah right, I mean it doesn't matter to us. We have dance," Jay said, finally remembering the email sent to everyone this morning.
You glanced at Jay and Yunjin, envious that they did have something to call their hobby.
"I want to join a club, but I don't know which one? It helps us look better," You said, giving one last glare to Jungwon as he rolled his eyes.
"I can help you find out tomorrow once the sign-up begins," Yunjin suggested, lifting her eyes to meet yours. Giving a smile, you nodded.
Whilst that talk went on with what clubs to even take, your phone vibrated in your pocket.
You excused yourself and stood up, taking your phone along and stood in a much quieter corner of the cafeteria and saw the screen before answering it.
"Hi, Abba." You chimed into the phone, already having a hint of what was about to happen.
"Hm- yn? Can you hear me?"
"Yes, I can hear you." you chuckled softly. He clearly wasn't used to the call system on his phone. Your dad hummed in response, but he didn't laugh back.
"I called you because I heard that there was a really bad murder around the area? Are you okay- what happened?" Your dad asked repeatedly, bombarding you with questions, his worry becoming evident.
"Oh, you do know?"
"How would I not? It's all over the news, yn." Your dad sighed over the phone, already sensing his prickling stress.
"Okay, yeah there was a murder around," you breathed, and you bit back your tongue on telling that you and your friends were the ones to actually find the body.
If he found out that you discovered the body, he wouldn't hesitate to talk your ear off and coddle you with his protection; you know he would mean well, but that meant going back home instead of staying at your apartment with Yunjin.
"Why do you sound so casual. Apparantly he worked at your university- do you know how dangerous that is?" You heard him ramble on anxiously.
"Abba, I know. But the police are investigating it, okay? Nothing bad will happen to me," You reassured him, talking softly. Though you could sense your father's lingering worry over you.
"I know, but I don't want you to get hurt, okay?"
"Hm, I know. I won't get hurt," you said, smiling into the phone.
"Well, keep me updated. You know how much I care for your wellbeing," he said, voice soft and it pulled at your heartstrings.
"I promise to keep you updated."
"Okay... have a good day at school," your father said before ending the call.
With your shoulders deflating, you relaxed; that went much better than you expected. It wasn't as histrionic as you thought it would be and he took it well. At least.
Walking back to the others, Yunjin quirked an eyebrow. "Who was that?"
"My dad. He found out, about the whole incident" You answered her, plopping to the couch again and sighing.
"Does he know you and Jungwon found it?" Jay looked at you. Everyone glanced, and you only shook your head slightly.
"I know he would freak if he knew so I just told him there's nothing to worry about." You saw them fall silent a little. Yunjin lifted her gaze to you again.
"You sure? What if he finds out but not from you?" She uttered, leaning onto your arm again. It was a possible option, but you blocked that thought out your head.
"I hope not. And I'll keep it that way."

When you arrived to the cafe, it was quite busy since customers were scattered everywhere. You thought you would get a break just before starting, but that didn't happen.
Briskly walking to the back, you waved to Jimin and Taehyung, who gave a brief wave whilst arguing, and you went into the staff room to collect your brown apron.
When you tied back your hair, Mia, the general manager of the cafe was gathering her stuff, putting her apron off as she sent a smile.
"I'm off. Good luck with the two idiots," Mia said, referring to the two men arguing at the counter.
"Yeah, thanks, Mia." You sighed and walked out with her to the front counter where Taehyung was mumbling something and Jimin whirled around from where he was making coffee, and pointed a finger at him.
"Say that to my face, Taehyung, because you're shit at whispering," Jimin sneered, causing Taehyung to scowl before going to the till and taking someone's order.
You waved bye to Mia and then walked to the two.
"Good afternoon, you two," you said, walking to the bunch of papers at the corner of the counter. Jimin and Taehyung stopped fighting and bowed slightly with sudden cheerful looks.
"'Afternoon, manager," Jimin chimed as he cleaned the counter from some spilt coffee. You scoffed.
"Don't call me manager, makes me sound serious."
"Well you are, you just check on the face quality over our lovely cafรฉ." Taehyung smiled.
The two were older than you, bickered a lot more, but they took care of you so much. You don't know why the two of them rejected the front of house manager position, but since they rejected it, you gladly took it as a way for extra money.
However, that meant having to work on late evenings on weekdays, which always left a little cloud of sadness over your head at the end of the day.
"Yeah, but it's not much. Anyway, when is Eunchae getting here? I was going to train her," you said, lifting your gaze from the papers and tapping your pen repeatedly on the surface.
Jimin looked around, and then his eyes lit up as he pointed towards the door, seeing a girl with black hair, doe eyes and a shy smile on her face.
You perked up, sending a smile to Eunchae. Another fun thing of possessing the 'manager' title, you get to train the new baristas or waitresses that signed up for it.
The 3 of you at front introduced yourself to her and she was just as polite. With her in your supervision, the day quickly moved on, the sky tainted a dark blue already, the sun long gone past the buildings as the street lamps shimmered.
Taehyung and Jimin were talking as they cleaned the coffee machines, whilst you were crouching in the floor, checking the stock and pots.
Eunchae brought a ladder, perching it next to you as she climbed up to get to the jars on the higher shelves.
"Thanks, Eunchae, just refill them for me," you said without looking, too busy in the pots beneath the counter.
Sighing to yourself, you kept looking at your phone, wondering when Yunjin would come and accompany you to the route home.
All the while, you continued shuffling the pots on the floor, and you felt all was peaceful.
Though, within a second, you gasped when a soft, grainy shower of powder floated onto your head. Out of instinct, you braced yourself, covering your hair, but feeling your nose tickle from the sudden substance submerging your whole face.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, Yn!" Eunchae gasped from above you, stepping down the ladder.
Briskly, you wiped your eyes and face, standing up slowly and turning with a dismissive wave of your hand. Raking a hand through your hair, you tried to blink.
"It's fine," you uttered, smiling weakly and tasting chunks of flour on your lips. But you could see Eunchae clearly distressed.
What you didn't expect to hear was Yunjin's shrill laughter along with someone else echoing through the empty cafรฉ.
Instantly, you turned and your heart dropped when you saw Jungwon and Yunjin bursting into laughter, doubling over as they held their stomachs. The embarrassment flooded your cheeks as you quickly bent down behind the counter to conceal the shame that was your newly-white face.
And you're pretty sure Taehyung and Jimin were laughing to their heart's core, but you were utterly shocked.
"Shut up!" You snapped at all of them. They ignored you as Yunjin looked over the counter.
"I'm so glad you asked me to come today," she said, giggling. Jungwon saw you over the counter, bringing his phone in your face.
"Don't you dare take a photo of me!" You yelled, covering your face with your hands, aware that there was still some flour all over your face.
Though it was too late when the sound of the camera shutter went off, and you were horrified, immediately standing and trying to tackle for Jungwon's phone over the counter. In defense, he stepped back, still chuckling and showing the photo to Yunjin.
"Oh my gosh, Jungwon, delete it!" You exclaimed, exasperated at this. Your friends laughing at you after a long day of work was not something you needed.
Eunchae crept up to you again, bowing a full ninety degree angle and profusely apologising with red embarrassment across her cheeks.
"I'm so sorry," she meekly said, and you smiled at her with a face of white, and shook your head in another dismissal, even if you wanted to climb over the counters and whack your friends with a mug.
Yunjin and Jungwon finally stopped laughing, their gaze stuck on his phone before breaking into a fit of giggles. Sending a glare to them, you heard your phone vibrate, and a furious shudder runs along your body.
You're going to kill both of them.

RUNNING FROM MINHEE WAS NOT THE BRAVEST THING YOU COULD DO.
But, seeing her approach from the end of the hallway made something indescribable flare in your system and your body automatically lunged for the first door to your left.
When you lurched the door open, a scent of flowers and pollen washed over you, making you flinch a little. It was strong- and it made sense since the room was flooded with emerald vines and leaves with vibrant petals unfurling from them.
Hearing Minhee laugh, you hastily shut the door with a click and entered the somewhat silent room. You thought you heard a rustle, but it ceased within seconds.
On one of the tables, you saw a sign in felt tip saying: "Welcome to the gardening club!" with a register for new names.
From the tranquility alone, your previously fervent heart beat was slower; moving further into the room, shelves and shelves stacked besides each other of incessant greenery.
It was incredible if you had to say so yourself.
With your phone still in your hand, you sauntered around the corner, eyes focused on the potted plants on a tall shelf and didn't realise you bumped into someone.
With a startled gasp, you went to apologise and bow, but stopped when you whirled around and glanced at the familiar cat.
The apology died from your lips, and instead, your eyes raised.
Though, this familiar cat was holding a cactus, in the middle of patting the dry soil and his brows sunk into his face. When he saw you, his frown also sunk his lips.
"Jungwon?"
You gave a light scoff, looking him up and down when you crossed your arms.
He sent a look of bashful annoyance as he grumbled under his breath. Of course you had to be there when he was.
Jungwon cleared his throat and sent a side-eye.
"Yn... what are you doing here?"
"Looking for a club." You looked at him, lying completely. Though, he scoffed and eyed you again, turning to face you completely with his adorable potted cactus.
"Looking for a club to hide in?*" he corrected, asking you once more for that confirmation. He must have seen the group chat, and you rolled your eyes.
"Yeah yeah. I'm hiding," you mumbled, raking your eyes over to his hands, the plan carefully clutched at his fingers. It caused a little tickle of a smirk to appear at your lips.
Yang Jungwon- the callous and stoic member of the friend group tending to a tiny and spiky cactus? It sounded bizarre. But, it somehow fits his personality- something you can hold in the palm of your hand, yet maintain the spiky exterior.
You supposed Jungwon is just like that.
You couldn't even help yourself from taking a picture of him holding this adorable cactus, the size of his palm, paired with the confused frown.
When the click went off, Jungwon grew increasingly embarrassed and put the cactus down into a nearby table.
"Gee, Jungwon, I didn't know you're a garden boy?" You laughed, reviewing the photo, and backing up hastily when Jungwon approached with his swiping hands.
He attempted to grab your phone, his hand missing yours by an inch as he stumbled forward, and you laughed more, stepping back, zooming in on his face to really rile him up.
Turning the phone to him, you displayed the photo showing him holding the cactus and he scowled.
"Delete that shit."
You giggled, backing even more and shaking your head as you gave a mischievous glint.
"Payback for what you did yesterday," you said, remembering the horrific picture of you doused in flour. When you tried to get it back, he used his height to protect his stupid phone from your reach.
Jungwon rolled his eyes and stalked towards you, to which you retreated even more with an infuriating smile upon your lips.
"It's not that deep, yn. Just give the damn phone," Jungwon whined, his hand shooting out and missing by an inch whilst you held your phone behind you.
"Then why can't I keep this picture. Don't you just look adorable with your little cactus?" You remarked, smiling as you held the phone in the air, shaking it, and Jungwon swiftly snapped forward.
Before you knew it, your back hit the wall, and you gasped as Jungwon slammed one hand beside your head, and the other gripping your wrist in a soft, but firm manner.
His gaze narrowed when he looked down at you, your thoughts halting all within a second as he stepped forward, closer and glanced to your phone.
"Let go of the phone." Jungwon inched closer, causing you to retract your head as far as you could.
You don't know if he notices it too, but the proximity grew an uncomfortable heat up your neck, but you managed to grip the phone tighter.
"No."
"You're such a brat," he mumbled, his hand unfurling to wrap higher up and around your own fingers as if he was holding your hand.
Giving a glare and ignoring the subtle way his hand engulfed yours, you gave another infuriating pout with your bottom lip jutting out.
"Gosh, it's not that deep, Jungwon. Have a little fun," you murmured as his fingers kept trying to coax your own hands to loosen around your phone.
You and him were now holding hands and fighting for your phone.
"Yn, just give it," Jungwon muttered, his body pressing up against yours as he easily overpowered your raised arm and tried to pry your fingers up.
But, you're not a quitter. And you held onto the phone like iron, stiffly wrapped around your device. Besides, blackmail material is blackmail material. You and him are technically even.
"I told you, no," you repeated again, causing him to lean closer, a stern look boring right into yours. It was the only thing you could see in your vision- those dark, brown eyes and his double eyelids, brows furrowed with frustration.
Only now, you realised him towering over you and his hand fully enclosed around your grip on the phone; your neck crept with another wave of heat. It didn't seem like he noticed with the way he tightened his hold on your hand.
Your breath caught in your throat, the silence prolonging the longer you stood there with the weak defense that was your hand.
"Um... are you guys okay over there?"
A voice snapped both you and Jungwon out of a daze, his eyes scanning you and realising the proximity. With a jerk of his body, he moved away and bowed slightly to the girl with space buns.
Lowering your hand, you bowed as well, embarrassed.
"Yeah, I wanted to join."
She smiled despite the awkward situation and nodded, gesturing for you and him to follow. Not before you sent a petty glare; he gave one right back.
"I'm Danielle by the way, but call me Dani," she said, introducing herself as she snatched up the clipboard by the makeshift sign
"I'm Jungwon."
"I'm Yn, nice to meet you," you gave a timid smile at her emanating positivity. Her smile 3ased you up a little, and her space buns gave way to her bright personality.
Danielle nodded in acknowledgement.
"Well, thank you for considering the gardening club. Not many people join in but we manage most of Yoreun's plants and decor around school. And, we are actually participating in the whole fundraising festival in a few weeks," Danielle explained, grabbing a blue pen from her pocket.
The fundraising event- right. You nearly forgot about that.
For Jungwon, he didn't mind helping out and getting out of that shell of his house. He needed some fresh air.
"What would we do at the fundraising event?" Jungwon asked, scanning the flourishing plants on the metal shelves once more.
"Selling plants, of course. Seeds acquired here and stuff like that. Also, a little gift bag. It doesn't seem exciting, but we have so many varieties and guess what..?" Danielle leaned in a little and dropping her voice to a low, mischievous murmur.
You and Jungwon also leaned in curiously.
"The mothers and aunts love plants," Danielle said, looking between the pair of you before chuckling. You smiled a little. She leaned back.
"But of course we need to prep for all of that gift bags so, the next few weeks is making gift bags and deciding prices. But don't worry- I won't make you guys be the treasurer. I have Dokyeom for that."
You tried to follow along, nodding appreciatively. It sounded like a lot of work, but you ignored the desire to be lazy and you stepped forward.
"I'll sign my name," you said, grinning kindly at her before taking the pen and clipboard.
"Perfect!" Danielle exclaimed, clapping her hands once in triumph as you wrote your name.
Jungwon glanced and you gave it over, raising an eyebrow. The sudden picture of him and his cactus flashed across your head, causing you to stifle an amused scoff.
After you signed your name, so did Jungwon- only after he gave you a stern look because of the photo.
Danielle took the clipboard and beamed at you and him.
"Okay, I mean... do you guys want to start right now? It would really help beforehand to set up the gift bags and stuff," she said, leading you and Jungwon to a bunch of cardboard boxes in the corner. There were about 3 stacked on top of each other.
The both of you gave a murmured agreement and Danielle grinned again before clapping her hands in joy.
"Alright, I'll go get some scissors."
Danielle explained that each box contained about 100 gift bags each, and that you and him had to simply open the boxes and take out the individual paper bags.
That's how you found yourself in the sea of opened paper bags, sat on your knees as you worked your way through one box.
Jungwon sat on a chair, swiftly taking out the bags and unfolding them to make them stand on the ground.
It was a comfortable silence for now, even though Jungwon had a thousand sparks flying up his neck, flooding his ears with warmth.
Only now did he think of the photo and the way his hands stubbornly grasped yours. He internally cursed at himself for being so bold and getting caught by someone as well.
Jungwon clenched his jaw, wanting to rip his hair out from how he caged you against the wall. With an exasperated sigh, he ran a hand through his hair.
"You good? You look a little stressed," you asked, hiding the mischief under your tone. He raised an eyebrow and continued unfurling the folded paper bags.
"Yeah, but i still want that photo," Jungwon mumbled, remembering the way he clasped your hand to get to your phone.
A little chuckle escaped you as if to ridicule his statement. "Not happening. We're even now."
Jungwon scowled at you. Of course you were as stubborn as a brick wall. And he wasn't bothered to break it down.
After completing the task of unpacking 300 paper bags, Danielle explained the days of the club, appreciating that first year students had a lot more on the shoulders than expected; she thanked you anyway and both you and Jungwon exited the room.
Jungwon checked his phone for the time and clicked his tongue.
"Jay hyung is done with his club. Yunjin is in the same place, right?" Jungwon inquired as he walked away from you, probably in the direction of the dance studio.
To keep up with him, you ran a little and nodded. "Yeah, she is."
As you and him walked to the dance studio, you didn't miss the fleeting glances of others, causing you to grip your backpack tighter.
You hoped people would forget by the end of the week. It's not like they cared about the poor man, but rather that they fed on drama and rumours that cloud their uninteresting lives.
Once the dance studio was in sight, the music boomed passed the walls and Jungwon perked up, recognising the song. Since Jay was always practicing, he often ingrained some key movements in his head.
The door was slightly ajar and you peeked through the glass, seeing Jay with another tall dude, their movements fluid and sharp to the music.
You watched in awe, and Jungwon stood behind you, gazing at Jay, his hands mimicking the movements.
The song was "Bad Boy" by Rain, and the bass practically vibrated from your feet to your head. In the corner, you saw Yunjin and her dance mates all huddled in a circle, probably watching their own choreo.
Jungwon being so close behind you made you turn and realise his imitated moves, eyes focused on Jay and his other friend. You couldn't help but notice the moves coming naturally to him, without reluctance.
"Why don't you join the dance club?" You asked out of the blue, turning back to stare at the dance studio.
Embarrassed, Jungwon stopped his imitated gestures and ran a hand through his hair. Though, he didn't answer immediately.
Only when you gave him another questioning look, did he sigh.
"I don't think I'll be all that good. Besides, I have to maintain my body well and I don't think I would," Jungwon answered blankly, his voice a little muffled over the music but you heard.
There was always some unease within Jungwon- something you noticed. From how he would always be on his laptop to tweak his videos, you could tell he was a perfectionist, failing to fall below his standards.
"But you seemed interested in it. Who cares if you're bad? You seem to know it as well," You commented with an earnest shrug of the shoulders. Jungwon didn't say anything again for a few seconds.
"It's not about whether I like it or not. If I don't feel good, I won't like the club," Jungwon murmured again with his eyes focusing in and out of the dance room.
"Have you ever been in a club to attain that fact?" You chuckled slightly, raising an eyebrow at the taller boy. His bangs fell over his eyes, hiding the slight discomfort flashing in his eyes.
"I have. A Student Debate Club and a student council club. It's not that I didn't enjoy it or something, I just felt like it wasn't for me," he said, his sigh coming right after as he continued standing behind you and observing Jay and his friend.
The song was coming to an end, but you turned to Jungwon again with an amused glint sparkling in your eyes.
"So gardening club was better?"
"Shut up."
"Seriously, it's ironic. You went for a gardening club, and your name is Jungwon? I should have seen it coming." You laughed slightly as you teased him.
Jungwon rolled his eyes, giving you another dirty glare. "Do you ever shut that mouth of yours? It's like you're made of caffeine or something."
Giving a mocking look of offence, you gave a scoff.
"I do work in a cafรฉ so, it's expected. Besides, I have a lot of energy to be productive."
He simply didn't agree to your statement as he did side-eye you, crossing his arms over one another. "Ah yes, caffeine equals productivity, and not uncontrollable shakiness and energy."
Pouting at him with a stubborn glare, you nudged his arm. Gosh, he was like a brick wall- physically and mentally.
"And what- I should stay like you?" You remarked quickly, crossing your own arms.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Boring, grumpy, and boring."
"Of course you would say that, you nutjob."
"Excuse me, you asshole-?"
Jungwon snapped his eyes to you, leaning his face to yours with a firm and daunting stare. "Asshole? gosh, you're actually insane."
This time, you nudged his shoulder softly, not enough to throw him off balance, but enough to startle him.
"You started it," you said through gritted teeth, brows furrowed in slight annoyance. Jungwon simply rolled his eyes, the irritation in both sparking dangerously.
"Was i lying though?" Jungwon tilted his head with his boring eyes darting right at yours, not even blinking. With a huff, you stepped forward, arms crossed to show you're just as firm as him.
"Yes. You can't admit you just like being sad. Is it an aesthetic or something, Jungwon? A phase?" You urged him on more, practically throwing gasoline at his sparking irritation.
"If anything, you do most shit for the 'aesthetic'," Jungwon rebutted, making quote gestures with his fingers as he leaned closer, making you arch your neck up more to meet his gaze.
You found that totally untrue as you scoffed, and laughed it off. Mockingly patting the side of his arm, you grinned again.
"It's okay if you're in your emo, alpha phase."
"My what?" Jungwon raised an eyebrow, a look of disbelief crawling up his face that made you laugh a little.
Riling him up just gave you instant serotonin.
"I don't think you have ever smiled-."
Jungwon cut you off, crossing his arms tighter as a look of irritation sparked in his eye. "I do smile."
"Yeah, maybe at the start of the year. If you weren't depressed then, you definitely are now," you remarked again, scanning his face again, his brows furrowed even more, lips sinking into a frown.
Your voice was like an annoying alarm that repeated after every 2 minutes. You just wouldn't shut up and his jaw clenched as you yapped on.
In the middle of your teasing session, Jungwon retaliated by tugging a strand of your bangs and you yelped, slapping his hand.
He winced.
"Jungwon, the fvck? You need to stop pulling my hair," you exclaimed, brushing down your locks with your fingers.
"Maybe shut the fvck up," Jungwon sneered, rubbing the spot where you slapped him off.
With a scowl, you rubbed the spot on your head, wondering where he had picked up the habit from, but turning away when the glass door opened and footsteps padded out in front of you and Jungwon.
From the way both of you were rubbing a spot on your body from attacking each other, Jay and Yunjin gave each other a knowing look before shaking their heads and dragging you two along.

"Yn, want to go to the study cafรฉ?"
It was the next day and Sunoo came up beside you when walking out from psychology. His blond-ish hair fell over his forehead, a little messy as he smiled at you.
"Sure," you said, nodding at him. "Can I invite some friends?"
After a few seconds, Sunoo nodded once and didn't say much, but you didn't pick up anything from it as you started texting a few people to meet up.
After 10 minutes, Minji, Chaewon and Heeseung decided to tag along. Heeseung decided to drive everyone there.
Even if you were tired, the energy was able to keep you in the conversation until getting into the cafรฉ.
It was the regular one you usually hung out in, and the corner of the cafรฉ was the one space you always headed to. Everyone took their seats; Sunoo sat on your left, Minji on your right with Heeseung and Chaewon opposite you.
With everyone's laptops out, screen blinking at their owners, you started typing, about to plug in your headphones.
"Hey, yn?" Sunoo asked you, a twinkle of curiosity and uncertainty in his eyes. You halted your actions and nodded, gesturing for him to go on.
"Promise you won't judge?" Sunoo laughed a little under his breath.
"Nah, I won't. Promise," you said, smiling a little as you nudged him with your elbow.
Sunoo sighed a little among the small conversation between the three others, and nodded. Perching his chin on his knuckles, he glanced at you.
"Sometimes.. I don't know- maybe I'm being dramatic-."
"Sun, just say it," you cut him off, sending an encouraging smile. Even then, Sunoo hesitated and gave a tight-lipped smile.
"I... I feel like Jungwon doesn't like me," Sunoo finally mumbled, his eyes cast on his laptop. Those words caused your smile to drop, confusion bubbling in your stomach.
You patted his arm once and tilted your head. "Why so?"
You could tell he felt a little stupid now since he looked down towards his fiddling fingers, sheepishly smiling.
"I don't know, I feel like he's judging me all the time. I feel a little stupid everytime He looks at me," Sunoo explained, looking at you with earnest eyes. The words in you dissipated, trying to dig in your head to find what to say.
Though, Jungwon was just naturally closed off, and his affection towards you and the others were like a closed gate, but that didn't go beyond 'not liking'.
Trying to lift the mood, you shook your head and sent a comforting smile. "He just has a resting bitch face, it's nothing. He doesn't 'not like' you."
Sunoo still had the tight-lipped smile, eyes focused on his laptop before glancing at you. There was still a doubtful cloud hovering in his eyes, and you forced yourself to look away.
"Don't worry, Sun, I feel stupid everytime He looks at me as well. But it's not what you think it is," you reassured him, and went back to typing on your computer.
Sunoo hummed and eventually agreed with you. Which, you were glad about because you're not the best at persuading others of opinions of other people.
The conversation came and went by and you could tell Sunoo caved into his little shell a little more; to ease his silence, you started talking about joining gardening club but that it was to simply run away from Minhee.
He listened attentively and, at the mention of Minhee, a determined look flickered in his eyes.
"She seems to bother you a lot," Sunoo said, once again resting his cheek on his palm. You chuckled a little, typing away on your notes.
"Yeah, she does."
"I wish I could deal with her... do you want me to?" Sunoo asked again, eyes focused on the computer as his voice came out low and discreet.
Upon hearing him say that, you looked with bewilderment. Sure, she's a talker and most likely a bully, but you're sure she would find a new target, or even tone down her behaviour in a few weeks time. You sent a timid smile to Sunoo, who glanced at your silent response.
"No, I'm okay, Sun. Promise." You went back to typing your messy notes, not looking at him despite the lingering and worried stare.
You didn't think much of it.

You had it all planned out. Sunoo's birthday had to be something unique, something you haven't done before. You want him to melt into butterflies once he sees what you have planned.
Therefore, it brings you to now. You're waiting for Sunoo to come out the shower, swinging your legs off the bed and pouting deeply.
The plan should get to work if Sunoo ever came out of the damn bathroom.
"Sunoo?" You called out from the bed, whining almost. A hum came from the bathroom, as if to let you know he was right there. You gave out an exasperated groan, whining his name once more.
"Sunoo, baby?"
"Yn, I'm right there, I swear." He reassured you and came out as he sensed your growing impatience. Once the door opened, Sunoo appeared with his green sweater, denim jeans, and blonde locks that unfurled messily over his forehead, but it made him all the more adorable.
"Finally..." you pouted as you got up, throwing your arms cheekily around Sunoo's neck, your soft smile reflecting the crescent appearing in his eyes. He bent down to kiss you on the nose before playfully scowling at you.
"Why are you so eager, angel?" Sunoo inquired, tilting his head and giving the perfect angle to see his amber eyes.
Before you got distracted, you poked his full cheek. "It's a surprise. A double surprise."
"A double surprise?" Sunoo repeated incredulously, running a hand down your sides to rest on your waist. Enthusiastic, you nodded, to which he nodded in defeat.
"I'm sceptical, but I trust you."
"Good, because I'm your girlfriend," you snorted before leaving his embrace to, instead, intertwine your fingers with his and pull him along.
---โโโโโ
"Yn, where are you taking me? People are going to think I'm being kidnapped," Sunoo murmured with a demure chuckle following after. You slapped his back lightly at his joke. He whined.
"Ah, yes, a girl is definitely kidnapping her boyfriend. You're so dramatic, Sun." You pulled his hand as he had a hand over his own eyes. He didn't dare disobey you, knowing how sulky you would become if he had 'ruined' the surprise.
"Okay, well, don't trip me, angel," Sunoo uttered dramatically as you dragged him along. In return, you gave a scoff. You are always careful with Sunoo, you thought as he tripped when he stepped into a pothole.
Sunoo yelped, stumbling as you mercilessly pulled him along. "Yn- slow down-."
"We're here! You can open your eyes," you said, totally ignoring his pout. Begrudgingly, Sunoo uncovered his eyes to see a photo booth studio, the brown letters staring out to him in the reserved street.
When he looked inside, it was scarce of people, only the receptionist walking around. Peering at his face, you saw the ghost of a tender smile lingering on his lips, the face he had when he saw the sunrise for the first time.
"Do you like it?" You asked quietly, glancing up at him. He only replied with a dramatic gesture by cupping your face, looking serious as ever.
"Angel, I love it. I love anything you give me," Sunoo replied with the utmost firm voice ever. It made a deep flutter in your chest emanate across your body, and a heat grew up your neck from how he was holding you.
With a shy smile, you took his wrists and detached his hands from your face. "I'm glad-."
Before you could finish, Sunoo was the one dragging you inside, and impish grin on his plump lips.
After quickly registering your name, you and him entered a small room with one side having accessories of vibrant colours, including sunglasses, plushies and bizarre hats, and the other side with a camera that had the small remote attached. The backdrop was a simple white, and Sunoo led you in further, totally gravitating towards the colours like a child.
"Angel, we need to try these sunglasses!" Sunoo exclaimed as he ran to the accessories and held out red love heart glasses, the tinted glass having 'XO' on separate panels of the plastic. You giggled as he slid them on you, and he did the same.
"Do I look good?" Sunoo leaned down to your height, making you leave a fleeting kiss on his lips as a response.
"You always look good," you said, ignoring his flustered, little smile as you pulled yourself away to explore. The 1 hour session made you eager to start the pictures, wanting enough memories to be made and engraved in your heart.
So, you and Sunoo began taking pictures. With the remote in his hand, he took many: he took one standing behind you, giving the warmest hugs around your waist, his chin on your shoulder. Another one where you were on his back, and he carried you (though you helped take the picture since he was doing the work).
And another where he was sitting on a stool, his gaze on you when he craned his neck up, amber eyes fluttering to meet yours. Before you pressed the button to take a picture, you leaned down and found his rosy lips before the flash went off. His sneaky hands pulled you between his legs, encircling around your waist and continuing a heartfelt kiss, lips moving softly.
"You're so sweet, angel, just like your lips..." Sunoo murmured against your burning face, eyes closed even when he left a minimal gap between the two of you. A flutter erupted from your stomach, and you tightened your hold around his neck, hugging him.
"You deserve it, Sun. Seriously." You kissed his nose, running your fingers through the unkempt but charming mess of his blond hair, and he hummed, a smile tugging at his lips.
You took the photo, and he chuckled. Spinning you around, he made you sit between his legs on the small available space for you. Obliging, you sat there comfortable, his broad torso pressed against your back, a hand resting softly on your thigh.
"You're a little handsy today," you commented, teasing him as you readjusted your hair on your shoulders to frame your face right. A bashful giggle escaped his lips, pressing against the soft skin of your neck, the warmth of his breath making you smile.
"Can't help it when you're so pretty. And when I love you, you know?"
You shook your head in feign annoyance, a smile betraying how your heart ached for more of his precious words. Fiddling with the remote, he finally got into position, chin resting on your shoulder, 1 arm around your waist whilst the other rested on your hip. And honestly, it was one of your favourite pictures when you and him were choosing which ones to take away.
It was strenuous to choose which ones to take home. It felt as if you had to choose your favourite kids (if you and Sunoo ever had any) and you failed to pick a small amount.
Even if you had a similiar one of him in the same position, the only difference being his chaste kiss on your neck, you still bought both.
---โโโโโ
"What else are you planning? I swear, Angel, if i don't see gold in my present, I would be thinking you're ignoring me." Sunoo rested his back against the door. You were currently locked in the shared bedroom, not letting him in, but he heard an awful lot of scurrying within.
"Angel? What are you hiding in there?"
"Sun, be patient! I'm nearly done!"
Sunoo gave out a doleful and exaggerated sigh, loud enough for you to hear.
Deciding you were done with your present, and his sighs, you went to the door and opened it, welcoming him in. Sunoo finally pushed himself off the wall and glanced at you.
"Finally, Angel. What were you-."
Sunoo paused when he saw something on the bed. Surrounded by scraps of paper, there was a book, little bits of paper sticking out. It was a ringed book, a plastic cover encasing it. Enraptured, Sunoo sat on the bed, nearing the small, ringed object and seeing his name in a green gel pen. And below that, a polaroid stuck beneath displaying you on one of your first dates.
You watched with a held breath as Sunoo opened the book, eyes glistening with interest as he peered into the first page. All pictures and words of affirmation and memories written into the paper, the ink and the washi tapes with a multitude of stickers stuck in the corners, displaying each milestone of yours and his relationship. Each one revived a memory locked away in his mind, reliving promises and shared, intimate moments.
His silence was a little nerve-wracking, and you thought that he was going to give you a deadpan expression of disappointment. But, upon reaching the last page, he saw the pictures you and him took today, and he froze. A little message was written on the side.
'Dear, Sunoo.
Before you cry because I'm an AMAZING girlfriend, let me appreciate you first. I enjoy your clumsy moments, and the photos you send me when you're away, and your long voice messages that exceed 5 minutes (idc because I love your voice), and your hugs.
I wouldn't trade it for anything. I realised how important these photos were to me. And how else to show my happiness than through scrapbooking it? I purposely got a ringed notebook so we can add more photos. And made sure it was small, so you can carry it around when you miss me.
Kim Sunoo, I declare I love you more than anything (tho, you already knew that). Happy Birthday, my love <3
When Sunoo finished reading the message, he sniffled, his eyes already blurring with tears, an endearing pout on his lips. You thought he was upset, but when you approached him, he immediately tackled you to the bed and you landed with an 'oof'.
"Fvck- Sunoo, are you okay?" You lifted your head from the bed to see him buried into your neck, hugging you as if you were his saviour. Only then did you feel the tears on your shoulder. In an instant, you sat up.
"Sun..?" You lifted his face, and he wiped his tears with your thumbs, an earnest smile on his lips as he cupped your face back, memorising the way you gazed at him with worry and genuine concern.
"Do you like it?" You asked quietly, holding onto his wrists gently. Sunoo scoffed, wiping his tears and started attacking your face with elated kisses at every corner and surface of your skin.
"Okay- you do like it." You laughed as he kissed your jaw with pecks of his heartfelt love and gratitude. Finally, with one swift movement, he kissed you deeply on the lips, hovering over you on the bed with his fingers cradling your face.
The butterflies fluttering in your stomach could not be contained, and you breathed into the kiss, your hands clutched his green cardigan that fell off his shoulder. A warmth sparking undeniable electricity from you to him, and in that small gesture of one kiss, you felt as if you didn't need a photo to capture this particular moment because it was already burned into your mind.

A STUDY CAFร AFTER TWO HOURS OF CLASS WAS A BREATHER. A way for everyone to cool the foggy effect of lecture notes and the languid speech of the professor. You could have almost fallen asleep atop your laptop hadn't it been for Jungwon clearing his throat.
Jay stated that he needed to tell everyone something, so no one could resist the urge to gather together in the neat and cream-coloured, study room. The large, white table was soon littered with laptops and the recent book everyone was reading; eventually, everyone sat down.
Jay leaned forward on his elbows once he caught everyone's attention. "I was talking to Jake this morning, and guess what?"
No one spoke a word upon seeing the slight dapple of despaire on Jay's face so, he continued.
"The case where we found that dead man, may be closed, like, forever."
The heavy silence was suffocating, so many unspoken words mixing in the air as everyone stilled. Jay could have thought he was staring at a paused video until Yunjin scoffed, brows buried deep downwards, reflecting yours and Jungwon's reaction.
"You must be kidding," she said quietly as she crossed her arms and quelled the silence. The unpleasant news forced your eyes to wander anywhere but Jay, rocks of anxiety anchoring your mind down. Jungwon remained silent.
"Yeah, I'm not kidding," Jay declared once more to everyone's dismay, gazing back at his lit laptop.
Jay continued to explain that in the whirlwind of the murder case, the route to who the culprit is was hidden by too many obstacles that the police didn't know how to tackle: no footprints, no cameras and no witnesses. It was a dead end.
Scaring yourself was not an option, so you tried desperately to subdue that train of thought and grasp at anything logical despite your own intuition.
"Well, if they closed down the case, I guess, they tried to take everyone's interest at heart." You fiddled with your pen, flicking it vigorously to-and-fro as silence pervaded the study room once more.
"It's just strange. They couldn't find... anything?" Jungwon urged Jay, confusion entangled in his tone. Uncertain, his friend let out a shaky sigh.
"It's probably nothing, as Yn said. Maybe it is genuinely not a threat to us or the university," Jay insisted, trying to put confidence in your weak excuse. Not much was said as Yunjin shrugged, languid.
"I guess so. Whatever. I'm done with that shit. Let's just work," Yunjin announced with a new determination, swerving away from the morose topic and onto becoming academic weapons for the rest of the semester.
Everyone agreed and dived into their work. Ten minutes passed and Jungwon decided to call his good classmate for the upcoming film project. Through the screen, he saw Taehyun's boba eyes and the profuse blinks to make sure the actual facetime was working.
Jungwon wasn't looking but he swiped a hand through his hair and allowed Taehyun to catch a glimpse of Jungwon's meticulously clean nails. Taehyun snickered, causing Jungwon to incredulously raise an eyebrow to the other.
"What are you laughing at?" Jungwon asked, bewildered. Taehyun waved a dismssive hand, clearly trying to conceal his humour. Upon seeing Jungwon's unyielding expression, he finally gave in.
"No - I just saw your nails and they look pretty. Are you going to do them again," Taehyun chimed with mischief, making you, Yunjin and Jay chuckle a little under your breaths. Only Jungwon forlornly crossed his arms and directed his glare at the latter on the screen.
"Seriously?"
Within a second, Taehyun's smile dropped and nodded with a deadpan expression. "Yes."
Whilst you and the others were laughing at the comical situation, Jungwon found it far from that; irritated, his frown remained as he pulled up the page for the assignment.

Days passed and you were walking along with Minji, Chaewon and Heeseung. Psychology class evoked a session of inevitable ranting that everyone thoroughly required. It was a routine to go through.
The front area of the school was where you and the others were headed, the breeze brushing through your locks; it was a refreshing way to liberate the clouding information from the unpleasant lectures.
More booths and kiosks littered the place, colours displayed from the banners hung meticulously on the stands. Each one delivering the name of the club and the unavoidable prices to capitvate the future customers.
You walked longside Chaewon until you reached the wooden table that was occupied by Yunjin, Jay and Jungwon. Apart from your friends, there were definitely more people out there - more near the platform resembling the stage. Your gaze was not stuck there for long to see who was on it, but you were drawn back to Yunjin and Chaewon squealing in delight.
You stood beside Minji and observed them fussing, a small speck of apprehension seeping into their faces from the way Yunjin ran a hand through her hair.
"I cannot believe we get to dance at the festival, Chae."
"You're dancing as well and I didn't know?" you exclaimed to the blonde girl, your jaw dropped. Chaewon nodded with a modest smile.
"Yeah, Yunjin and I dance with some other girls," She said and was accompanied with an enthusiastic nod from Yunjin. Crossing your arms, you sent a cheeky smile to Chaewon.
"I didn't know you dance."
Chaewon shrugged, almost innocently with her eyes morphing into cheerful crescents when she grinned - as if she didn't know what you were even talking about. "I thought I said so."
On the other hand, Jay placed his phone down with a knowing smile when he glanced ateveryone. Heeseung, sitting opposite him, grimaced at the expression Jay had.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Heeseung asked, disgruntled. A glare was all that Jay delivered to the latter.
"Well, I am also expressing my excitement since I'm also dancing - but with a dude called 'K'," Jay explained with excitement tainting his voice. The name threw everyone, but Chaewon and Yunjin, off.
"K?" you uttered, not even burying the incredulity that crept up your tone. Even Heeseung tilted his head, but Jay dsmissively waved his hand.
"I wasn't the one that named him - anyway, it's short and snappy."
"Yeah - in text," Heeseung remarked with a snort, resulting a terse slap in the back of the head by Minji. A yelp slipped past his lips as he pacified the slight pang in his skull.
"Ow, what the fvck?"
When the conversation reached its end and everyone was about to art their ways, a static screech washed over the entirety of the courtyard. Everyone curtly halted, heads turning, and a wince escaped your lips.
The source was at the stage, the speakers blaring a man's voice; the male figure had black-rimmed glasses, jet-black hair brushed in a tiny man bun and brown eyes that held this hollow calmness in them. When you scanned over his features more, you discovered he was middle-aged and he was flanked by some other people behind him. There was this unnerving, small smile he had that disrupted the serene waves of thoughts within you.
The man patted the mic softly and soft bass sounds followed after it, catching the attention of everyone there. You couldn't look away now that the uncertainty simmered in your stomach.
Who the fvck was this?
As if the man heard your inner monologue, his voice dispersed from the speakers.
"Hello. You are probably wondering who I am. I want to introduce myself as Moon Minseok, the sponsor of the school."
Those eyes that were roaming from booth to booth landed on you and the others. No words were exchanged but everyone acknowledged the dubious shiver prowling down everyone's spine.
It forced you to swiftly divert your gaze into something that was not worthy of attention - much like everyone else. You tried to drown out the remnants of the speech.
You don't even know when the speech ended, but you and Jungwon departed ways together to get to the gardening booth. Danielle was already there and directed you to simply tag the prices to each gardening product before she also sauntered away.
It was easy enough.
So, you and Jungwon found yourselves sitting in the comfortable silence, the subtle breeze caressing yours and his clothes whilst the sunlight feebly seeped through the thick blankets of clouds.
The little cactuses and ferns were adorably small, the plastic wrapped around it in a way that didn't bend their leaves or figures. You couldn't help but smile at the miniature, clay pots.
It was almost calming in a way until a multitude of nefarious footsteps approched the gardening booth, making you and Jungwon curiously glance up.
There was clear tension in your muscles when those empty eyes, of none other than Minseok, landed on you and Jungwon. Behind him, the same people flanked him, tablets in their hands, and the principal also accompanying him. The headmaster looked as if he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
It appeared amusing to you, but you didn't react and, instead, gave a short glance to Jungwon, who also gave a sceptical look back.
With the oncoming footsteps, you and Jungwon politely bowed despite the clear tension pervading the air. It was almost difficult to even make eye contact.
Minseok had a confident gait, each step on the grounds of campus made his; this mellow smile curved onto his lips whilst he had his hands behind his back. His eyes possessed that icy calmness that made your voice dig back into your throat.
"The gardening club," the principal spoke, gesturing to you and Jungwon awkwardly standing there behind the table full of tagged garden products.
You didn't want to speak, neither did Jungwon. Both you and him had your thoughts drifitng into space. Realising you were just tentatively staring, you captured the wandering thoughts and brought yourself back to reality.
"Um... hello," you uttered, voice coming out much quieter than you wanted. Jungwon was about to give you a relentless side-eye but Minseok stepped forward and ran his gaze over the various assortments of petite plants commonly grown within the university.
The silence seemed to disturb the principal a lot more, the nervousness dissolving into his face; he shifted in his place, hands rubbing over the knuckles of his other. Maybe he was sweating if you observed closely enough to the crown of his head.
Minseok met your eyes in a second and you swear your heartbeat spiked up, clutching your vocal chords and forcing you to just awkwardly smile. You had the fierce urge to run away.
"My mother would love these. These are lovely," he began to say. There was a insincere smile in your smile, but he didn't need to know that. Shrewd, Jungwon fiddled with the sleeves of his hoodie, nails digging into the plush fabric.
"She has good taste in plants," you stated whilst your own gaze ran over the green stems and the soil. Minseok gave a small, humoured laugh.
"She had good taste," he corrected you and immediately sending heat to flood your cheeks and neck. You could tell the principal was probably itching to take Minseok away from your clumsy obliviousness.
"I'm so sorry," you mumbled, bowing in slight apology. You just wanted the eart to swallow you up. Minseok shook his head as if it was nothing serious, and smiled with that tranquil expression again.
"It's fine, she can't hear us, " he responded with mirth to your humiliated state. Jungwon could have scoffed to your mistake, but his muscles were too frozen with tension to even move. And, he didn't know why.
After Minseo recieved silence from you, he picked up one of the plastic-wrapped plants. "She was a lovely woman. She tended to her garden, decorating the house with ridiculous kinds. It's endearing now since she is now buried with them."
It was a depressing conversation so much so that you were holding a breath as Jungwon gave a subtle side-eye.
"I learned from that moment that people must treasure what they have. You may lose the," Minseok added on, gaze flickering to Jungwon. Following his gaze briefly, you noticed the way Jungwon's eyes darted nervously, jaw slightly clenched.
You didn't have the time to ask if he was okay since Minseok dug a hand into his pocket and pulled out some notes to hand it to you. It was a little daunting, and you didn't know whether to take it since he was offering money that was worth more than what was displayed on the small plant.
From the corner of your eye, the principal gesticulated that you should take it. Not wanting to embarrass yourself anymore, you gave a small smile before taking the money.
"Keep the change," he said, holding the plant.
"Thank you," you murmured, to which Minseok curled his smile a little more, eyes scanning over your features as if he was trying to grasp something off it.
The brief silence was cut off when one of his advisors sauntered to Minseok, a ringing phone in hand. Minseok's gaze faltered before he gave a courteous nod to you, a brief glance to Jungwon and taking the advisor's phone. Then, like the wind, he walked away with the principal.
When they were far enough, you looked to the 10,000 won worth of notes. It was a simple interaction but enough to leave you still drifting in your thoughts. Curious, you glanced to Jungwon, who was still frozen.
You wondered if he was even breathing.
"Jungwon?" you nudged his elbow a little, causing him to flinch and look down at you. The brief discomfort stayed rooted in his eyes, jaw still clenched.
This time, you wrapped your fingers gently around his forearm to nudge him again with bewilderment. "You okay?"
Jungon snapped out of the foggy daze and nodded. A deep breath escaped him, shoulders sagging finally and discomfort melting away when he registered the soft grip of your hand.
"Yeah, I'm fine. He just seems a little... odd, don't you think?"
The return of his voice did addle you a little, but you didn't dare mention it, not wanting to ignite whatever worry was just extinguished. Your hand stopped holding his forearm.
"Yeah," you agreed, seeing Minseok and the principal in the far distance, "I think so too."

3 POINTERโ๐งกเฉญ jake drabble #1
the echoing of basketballs bouncing was so familiar to y/n by now that they didnโt get annoyed by it anymore. their boyfriend, jake sim, was practicing before the big game in the school gym, while they were supposed to be at cheer practice.
โhey sweetie,โ he greeted you with his signature smile. he almost went in for a kiss before you got a sniff of his body odour.
โno no, no kisses until youโve had a shower.โ
โso no kisses until after the game? thatโs in like two hours,โ he complained. you dropped your bag which contained essentials like your cheer uniform, water, and deodorant. you held out your hand for him to grab and kiss, and he immediately did. it was like he could read your mind. his slightly damp dark brown hair falls into over his eyes, causing him to brush a hand through it. you shake your head and nod to your bag,
โi mean, i could give you some of my hello kitty deodorant if you want. then youโll not only get a kiss from me but from your teammates as well.โ
he rolls his eyes, โdonโt you have cheer? iโll feel bad if iโm the one taking you away from practice.โ he noticed you already had your shoes on and started to turn you towards the glass doors you came from.
you look down at the ball held on his hip. โgive me one shot, then iโll leave.โ you bargained, wanting to stay with him a little more.
you had played basketball for most of your life. but when your casual job demanded more hours, you had to quit. so instead you took up cheer seeing as practices happened in school time. jake reluctantly gave you the ball, crossing him arms causing his biceps to flex under his warmup shirt. you immediately dribbled up the the three point line and got balanced, shooting a perfect swish.
you look back at jake as the sound of the ball landing under the hoop echoed. his mouth is agape and his eyes wide, it makes you laugh. โwas that good?โ
โhow did you do that? youโre aโฆ cheerleader?โ
โdid you forget i used to play?โ you smile at his still face and wave a hand in front of his eyes before he laughs in shock.
โi am like, super in love with you.โ
your cheeks feel hot and turn love washed and you lightly punch his left shoulder. โchannel that into the game tonight.โ you give him a kiss on the cheek even though you had rejected one only a minute ago, and pick up your bag. โgood luck jake.โ your fingers flutter in his direction as he waves goodbye, stupid expression still stamped on his perfect face.
โyeah.. good luck.โ
TRAIN โ๐เฉญ jungwon drabble #1
you rode the bus to and from college with your boyfriend, yang jungwon, every day. and today, you had to take a later train. jungwon had a late class and anybody could guess it just by his tired and dragging face. it wasnโt too busy so you both got a seat.
the moon was shining onto jungwons pale face, eye bags shadowing across his cheeks. you thought he looked so perfect yet so different from what he usually did. the class he attended must have been difficult, i mean, studying music seemed easy to others, but from what you saw sprawled on his face and desk at home, it was the opposite.
looking up to him with a worried look shading your face, you chewed your lip before whispering. โjungwon. are you awake?โ
he turns his head over to you, smiles with his eyes closed and adjusts himself in his seat. โof course i am.โ
you laugh, taking his hand in yours and warming up to him. โyou donโt seem to be.โ you whisper again. he doesnโt respond and instead opens one eye to look at you. all he saw was perfection. your small smile, your long lashes and smudges of charcoal still present on your upper lip.
โyou have a moustache.โ your smile dropped and you subconsciously brought your hands up to your lip, before he grabbed them. โitโs charcoal. why do you keep forgetting to wash your hands after classes?โ you look down at your fingers which are indeed covered with black smudges. you look now at his own hand, the one you were holding before, and your bag. itโs everywhere.
โoh. oh no.โ he silently laughed and shook his head, taking his only clean hand away and wiping your upper lip. you gulp and it makes him drop his eyes, giving you a quick peck on the lips. โthanks.โ you say quietly.
he nods and turns back forward, now slumping to the side, deciding your shoulder would be the best pillow for the next 15 minutes. it was also one of the only places that didnโt have charcoal on it.
as soon as you got home, you both showered, ate, and passed out.

safe โโ sim jake
synopsis โ a night out turns short when someone you deeply dislike tries to talk to you.
pairing โ fem!reader x bf!jake
genre โ angst, lovers to even better lovers, fluff
word count โ tba.
warnings โ reader has a douchebag ex, drinking, allusions to the devilโs tango, sexy jake and not so sexy ex, swearing, intended lowercase
a/n โ ehe. of course i had to write this trope at some point, and of course it had to be with jake. sorry this is bad btw i pulled most of it out of my asshole. have fun !!
โyou look perfect baby, stop fiddling with your hair.โ jakeโs thigh squeezes your thigh across the carโs console when he notices the sun viser being lowered and the mirror being opened every 30 seconds.
โiโm meeting your brothers at a business party. how am i supposed to be calm right now?โ
โby reminding yourself youโre the most perfect, loving and beautiful woman in the world?โ he lifts his eyes from the road and shoots his signature smile at you, and it makes you redden.
his hand is placed on top of your red silk dress as your matching red heels tap on the floor of the car to the beat on the radio. you wonโt deny youโre looking particularly outstanding tonight, you look invincible and feel it too. it goes well to match with your partner, sim jake, who too looks incredibly amazing in a jet black suit and dark red tie just to match you. he spent 5 minutes finding it just so you guys could look good, knowing presentation matters to you.
entering the large centre, the scent of expensive perfumes and red wine explodes, causing you to slightly grip at his sleeve. your arm is woven into his as you walk - more like he walks and you drag along - toward who you assume are the other sim sons. they look nearly as handsome as jake and people could probably mistake them as triplets, not only by looks but personality.
โjames, jaxon, this is y/n. my partner.โ he smiled wide as he somewhat presented you to his brothers. they shake your hand one by one as you bow, careful to place a hand on your chest to cover your deep cut dress.
โwow, there was definitely a theme when naming you three.โ
the night goes on, laughing, drinking. and as you here more drinks clink together, you finally decided to address the burning stare that wasnโt coming from your own boyfriend. all night you felt stares, which was normal, but it was off putting and uncomfortable.
โyou feel it too right?โ jakeโs voice is hushed in a whisper as he bends down to ask, his slicked back, dark brown hair falling down to curtain his dark eyes. you look up, placing a lip between your lips and nodding. he smiles reassuringly and places a hand around your waist. โletโs go get a drink, then weโll leave okay?โ you smile and walk together to the bar, sitting down on the stools and ordering two last drinks.
โi think you just look too pretty, everyone canโt take their eyes off you.โ
โi donโt think anyone has that problem except you.โ
โoh you know me so well.โ he smiles and leans in for a kiss, sliding a hand to the small of your back as his soft lips plant onto yours. the bartender breaks it with a cough, announcing the presence of the drinks. โsorry.โ he smiles sheepishly and slides your drink to the table in front of you.
after a long sip, he whispers, โiโll go say goodbye to my brothers, while you stay here and continue looking pretty.โ
you smile and nod again, eyes following the handsome man before you turn your attention back to your drink.
your attention is quickly caught by another hand on your waist.
you quickly spin your head around, and suddenly a weight plummets down onto your shoulders and stomach. your ex is there, and you canโt believe he works for the same sort of company jake works for.
โy/nโฆโ
โjesse..โ you reply monotonous.
โyou look amazing.โ you silently snarl and swat his hands away from your waist, turning towards the bar to show disinterest.
โi know, my boyfriends already told me.โ
you notice his face turn sour and you smirk, taking a sip of your drink and praying to the gods that he leaves. the atmosphere tightens as he places a hand on your shoulder and swipes your bouncy hair off your shoulder.
โdonโt touch me dickwad-โ
โwoah woah woah kitten. i was just helping you.โ
โiโd rather peel my skin off, honestly.โ
he takes a quick breath in before displaying an ugly smirk. he places a dirty hand on yours and you stand up immediately, chair scraping the floor and bringing attention to you and your ex.
โi said donโt fucking touch me.โ now, the scent of strong alcohol reeks off of him, and you can see his half lidded eyes. you search for jake with a gulp before jesse grabs your wrist, tight.
โshe said donโt touch her.โ jake rips his hand off yours and pushes him into the bar, leaving the man utterly shocked and scared at the deadliest stare a man could give. โfuck off.โ
you widen your eyes at jake as your ex begrudgingly leaves, staring at you both as the attention dies down. the crowd was probably used to it, sadly.
jake grasps your shoulders and pulls you to a quiet part of the centre, he looks over your with panic in his eyes, mouth slightly agape as he scans you for injuries or bruises. โare you okay? did he hurt you?โ he asks, gulping and pushing some hair behind your ear softly.
โiโm fine jake, he didnโt hurt me. he was just being a dick.โ you answer with a shaky breath. jake looked as though he didnโt believe you as he did another look over. the encounter made your shoulders tense and your head hurt, all you wanted was to go home. and he understood that without a word exchanged.
jake leads you out to the car park, trying to find where he parked the car as he speaks.
โiโm so sorry that happened baby. did you know him?โ
โhe was my..โ you sigh, โโฆ my ex.โ you admit. he turns his head and stops both of you in place.
โhim? your ex?! oh, baby, no. how could you possibly be with him?โ he places his hands on your waist and you rest your own on his biceps.
you half laugh-half internally cry at his questions, knowing yourself that you had stooped too low in that era of your early 20โs. โi know. i canโt believe i was so blind to date jesse.โ
โjesse!? oh god and he has a lady name.โ
โhey, his name was the only redeemable quality about him. but trust me, i found way better guys than him after we broke up.โ
jake frowns, โwho?โ
โyou, dumbass.โ you giggle and laugh, happy that the only hands touching you now were jakeโs, it almost erased the dirty feeling completely. he smiles and leads you to where he guessed he had parked, whispering an oh, good.
as he takes your hand in his, you whisper,
โthank you for saving me. i mean, i couldโve done it myself but thank you.โ
โi know you couldโve. but my emotions got the best of me. who could let a beautiful woman get touched up by some random guy?โ he chuckles and kisses you on the forehead as you keep your head down to hide a blush. even though you two have been together for months over a year, he still made your heart flutter.
โi always feel safe around you, i hope you know that.โ
โthatโs always been my goal. to make you feel safe.โ

genre drabble, fluff with light angst in the beginning || w.c 1.1k || warnings like one curse word, lowercase intended
goosebumps raised on his skin as the cold breeze continued to graze against him. the roses he had gripped in his hands were long forgotten on the ground, so was the female he had asked out on a date. he silently cursed the female population for being so demanding, wanting so much yet giving so little. the female he had asked out on that specific day was meant to be the dream he had always been pondering. she was crowned prom queen in high school and knew exactly how to capture any man's heart, including his. to say she was his type was an understatement. she was beyond his type, from her feminine fashion sense to the red soled heels she wore daily.ย
his eyes wandered away from the misery unfolding in front of him, cold breeze thoroughly piercing through the layers of his skin as he shivered in the freezing night. the moon was shining so brightly he swore it could light up the shaggy town he resided in. his gaze managed to slide into the convenience store he stood in front of, eyes lingering on an unsuspecting female who was checking herself out through the convex mirror of the store. her face was extremely distorted from the curved mirror, making her look large since she was directly below it. it was a sight to see that managed to make him let out a chuckle of some sort.
the miserable moon began to rise higher as he realised it had been a whole hour since he was stood up. the lack of human activity in the area irked him, aside from the gothic looking female in the convenience store. boredom took over his mind as he delicately placed a cigarette between his chapped lips, lighting it with his disposable lighter. puffs of smoke began arising from his lungs out into the midnight air, calming his nerves. he was in a position where he had full authority to be upset and yet he didnโt feel an ounce of anger seep through his bones. it was probably the nicotine altering his thoughts.
the female in the convenience store thought it was amusing. you had been eyeing the male outside of the obnoxiously commercially large windows the store owned. you saw his steps towards the spot heโd been standing for an hour too long, his excited face and lit up eyes. his lips curled in a cute way you couldnโt put it to words. all that went out of your head the second your eyes landed on the roses he gripped in his hands.
ah, heโs waiting for his girlfriend.
you disappointedly went back to doing whatever you were tasked to do that night as the thoughts of the male had completely escaped your mind. that was until 30 minutes after his initial arrival. no sight of another female lurking in the area were to be found. at this point, you could tell he was stood up. by the way his eyebrows slightly furrowed and his pretty plump lips began to chap from the freezing temperatures outside. you contemplated on inviting him into the store where the heaters were on, but that would mean youโd have to exit the store without your bundles of clothing draped around you. and you were prone to getting sick, so that was a no go.
you came to the conclusion to wait a little longer, shamelessly eyeing him from the counter. he didnโt seem to be budging from his spot. in fact, he seemed to have adapted to the specific patch of snow as he was already starting to smoke. usually, youโd go out of your way and scold whoever smoked in front of the store during your shift hours but you decided to let it slide. he was an attractive stranger that served as great eye candy during your boring shift after all. it wouldnโt hurt to drive away customers (if there were any) at the moment.
another 20 minutes go by and the man seems to have no plan on stopping the lung damage he had committed in front of the store. as if it was a mere coincidence, your shift was about to end in 10 minutes. a smirk plastered on your face as you began loosely draping your jacket and scarves around your body. you had 0 care about the fact that you were clocking out way too early as your manager would say. well fuck your manager, no one was coming by anyways. you exited the vicinage with a smile plastered on your face, the door making a slight ding as it allerted the male by the door.
your gaze turned to him, taking in his appearance fully now. man was he one heck of an attractive male up close. he seemed to have noticed you shamelessly checking him out, waving his hand awkwardly with his cigarette between his fingers. you simply smiled back, inching closer to where he stood.
the first thing he noticed about you was your striking graphic eyeliner, it complimented the eyeshadow you had lightly patted onto your eyelids perfectly. even if you looked like some sort of vampire out of a 90โs magazine. you had a retro aura surrounding you, from the lowrise jeans to the cropped puffer jacket you wore. he found it quite cute how you were practically freezing with the thin articles of clothing you had around you, when he himself only sported a black tee with jeans and still managed to stand outside for an hour or so.
โyou do know smoking is bad for your health, right?โ you started, eyeing the wilted roses he dropped onto the ground. it seemed like he got frustrated at some point and threw them down. the male chuckled at your words, taking in another puff of smoke while shrugging. he exhaled the smoke, watching as it floated gleefully into the air. โnever really cared,โ he mumbled, mostly to himself. it was your turn to chuckle, kicking the roses beside him playfully.
โI saw you moping around from inside, did you get dumped or something?โ the male tensed up at your straightforwardness, eyes lingering on your boots as you continued to play with the snow covered roses with them. โmore like being stood up from a date,โ he mumbled yet again, eyes not daring to meet yours. you smiled a genuine smile, finding him way more adorable than the males youโve ever encountered. โwell, what about you taking me on a date?โ
his eyes widened at your bold statement, face snapping towards you as words failed to spill from his lips. โy/n.โ you introduced, holding out a hand for him to shake. he hesitantly stared at your hand, pondering if it was a good idea to go with the flow or stay where he was situated this whole time. his mind settled on the previous option, clasping your miniscule hand in his with a smile plastered on his face. โjay.โ

โwhat if you bought her coffee everyday from now on, with me?โ
stranger!leeheeseung x gen!reader
genreย drabble, fluff ||ย w.cย 0.7k ||ย warningsย lowercase intended
you clumsily entered your order into the kiosk your local starbucks had just begun to implement into their already confusing system. you were never one to buy coffee in starbucks, always opting to make your own coffee the way you liked it. you were pretty specific when it came to your coffee. it needed to be bitter to some extent but also have an underlying sweetness to it. surely, you werenโt situated here in starbucks for no reason, right?
yeah, of course you wouldnโt be. you had lost a bet the previous day and was now forced to buy coffee for your best friend, heejin. she had a major sweet tooth and was actually (and possibly) clinically obsessed with starbuckโs java chip frappuccino. sheโd have it everyday before your morning classes that you shared with her, occasionally gushing about the taste of whatever sugar concoction she drank religiously. it was terrifying, honestly.
in the end, you had to ask help from a nearby waiter on how to operate the machine you were struggling on. at this point, you had managed to create a line of thirsty and possibly angry customers behind you. you were damned and completely red with embarrassment. luckily, the waiter was kind enough to guide you through the whole process, even guiding you to an empty seat by the window. after all that humiliating situation you had put yourself into, you finally had time to relax and unwind from the stressful events about to happen by the window seat.
the view outside was immaculate, people wearing tote bags rushing to get to their morning classes in the university closeby to the starbucks, the traffic outside never failing to daze you from how busy it is at 8 am and the evil pigeons that drop their bombs every few minutes on unsuspecting passersby. it was quite amusing to say the least, just seated in a cafe while you watched the world unfold itself.
your train of thought was cut the second you heard your order and name being called. โjava chip frappuccino for hee!โ the piercing voice of the barista in charge ricocheted across the cafe which instantly made you jolt up and towards said barista. to your surprise, another hand reached out for the coffee cup simultaneously as you. hands accidentally colliding with each other, you instantly retracted your hand with your eyes wide open as you stared at the handsome stranger in front of you.
he too seemed fairly surprised at the incident, bambi eyes staring straight at yours. he gave an awkward half smile when the barista pushed another drink towards the two of you with a smirk on her face. โanother java chip frappuccino for hee.โ was all she said before she continued on with the other drinks piling up. the male awkwardly pulled you to the side, giving way for the other customers to get their drink. this time, a genuine smile plastered across his face as he reached out a hand to shake yours.
โlee heeseung,โ he stated, emphasising the โheeโ. you let out a small chuckle, shaking his hand before introducing yourself as just y/n. he stared at you for a bit in confusion, indirectly asking for an explanation. โI lost a bet to my friend heejin and I had to buy her her daily coffee.โ you explained, an awkward grin stretching on your face. heeseung nodded, smiling at the thought of you being upset at losing a bet.
to be honest, the second his hand grazed yours, he knew he was in for a surprise. the way your hands felt extremely delicate and soft under his hands even if it were for a slight second was enough to drive his brain insane. when he turned to face you was even more of a shock, you had a face that was sure to be ingrained into his mind for the rest of his university life. the fact that your eyes were widened and your lips slightly parted made his heart melt right then and there.
a sheepish smile crept upon his face as he raked up the courage to spill out what he had been thinking of the second his hands grazed yours, โwhat if you bought her coffee everyday from now on, with me?
