fairy lights strung across the hallway cast a warm glow on the gaggle of your neighbours crammed into the shared corridor. plates heaped with enough food to feed a small army overflowed from a makeshift table, the air thick with the aroma of baked ziti and something suspiciously like burnt brownies.

it was the monthly floor potluck, a supposed chance for neighbourly bonding. you, however, stood alone by the shoe rack, arms crossed and a scowl firmly in place.

the source of your discontent? lee heeseung, the new resident in 3B. he'd moved in a week ago, and in that short time, had managed to charm the socks off everyone else. mrs. kim from 3A gushed about his "angelic smile," mr. lee from across the hall swore he'd single-handedly fixed the perpetually leaky faucet, and even the ever-grumpy mrs. park from 2B had softened to his "polite demeanour." you, however, weren't buying it.

there was something… off about him. he was a little too pale, a little too perfect. the way his eyes seemed to glint in the fairy lights sent shivers down your spine, not the good kind. maybe it was the way he never seemed to eat anything, politely declining every dish offered with a charming smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. or maybe it was just a gut feeling, a primal instinct screaming that there was more to heeseung than met the eye.

as you nursed your lukewarm coffee, heeseung materialised beside you, a plate piled high with (uneaten) pasta in his hand. his smile, as always, was dazzling.

"hey there! i'm heeseung, from 3b. i’ve been meaning to meet you for a while! everyone's been raving about you."

you narrowed your eyes at him. "is that right?"

he chuckled, a sound a little too melodious. "absolutely! they say you make the best chocolate chip cookies on the floor." he gestured to the burnt offering on the table. "though, these brownies look like they could use some work."

a sarcastic snort escaped your lips. "they're mrs. park's. apparently, baking isn't her forte."

heeseung's smile faltered for a brief moment, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his features before he recovered. "well, maybe next time you could bring your famous cookies," he suggested, his voice smooth as silk.

you raised an eyebrow, suspicion solidifying in your gut. "maybe i will," you said, your voice devoid of warmth.

heeseung seemed to hesitate, the air crackling with a strange tension. then, with another dazzling smile, he excused himself and moved on to mrs. kim, who was already gushing about his "nonexistent" culinary skills.

you watched him go, a cold dread settling in your stomach. he might be fooling everyone else, but you wouldn't be swayed by his facade. there was something about heeseung, something dark and unsettling, and you were determined to find out what it was.

Teeth

weeks bled into months, and your suspicions about heeseung only intensified. he'd become the bane of your existence, a charming yet infuriating shadow that seemed to follow you around the building. every potluck, every hallway encounter was a constant push and pull between your icy suspicion and his playful facade.

he revelled in teasing you, his compliments bordering on flirtatious. "looking lovely today, aren’t you?" he'd purr, his eyes gleaming with an amusement that sent shivers down your spine. you'd counter with sarcastic remarks that usually sailed right over his head, leaving you more frustrated than ever.

one particularly rainy afternoon, you were rushing down the hallway, arms laden with groceries, when the treacherous floor betrayed you. your foot slipped, and you went sprawling towards the cold tile. but before you could hit the ground, strong arms wrapped around you, pulling you upright with surprising ease.

for a moment, you were trapped in heeseung's embrace. your ear was pressed against his chest, and a jolt of fear shot through you. there was no comforting thud of a heartbeat, just a chilling silence. his touch was icy cold, sending a wave of goosebumps erupting across your skin.

you scrambled away from him, a mixture of terror and anger twisting your features. "don't touch me!" you hissed, dropping a bag of groceries with a clatter.

heeseung straightened, his smile unwavering. "whoa there. just trying to be a good neighbour."

you glared at him, your voice trembling. "there's nothing neighbourly about you, heeseung. what are you?"

his smile faltered for a flicker of a second, a flicker you caught this time. but it was gone as quickly as it appeared, replaced by his usual charming facade. "just a guy who likes to help out a damsel in distress," he said, his voice laced with amusement.

but the amusement didn't reach his eyes. they held a glint of something predatory, something that confirmed your worst fears. he wasn't normal. and whatever he was, it was becoming increasingly clear that he was toying with you.

you grabbed the remaining grocery bags, clutching them tightly to your chest as if they were a shield. "don't think this is over, heeseung," you hissed, your voice surprisingly steady despite the fear gnawing at your insides. "i'll find out who you are, and i'll expose you."

he tilted his head, a playful glint back in his eyes. "is that a challenge, darling?" he asked, his voice a low murmur that sent shivers down your spine. "be careful what you wish for. you might just find out more than you bargained for."

with that cryptic message hanging in the air, he turned and sauntered back to his apartment, leaving you alone in the hallway, the weight of his words and the chilling memory of his touch settling over you like a shroud. you were determined to unravel the mystery of heeseung, but a new, terrifying question gnawed at you: were you prepared for what you might find?

Teeth

sleep evaded you that night. the unsettling encounter with heeseung replayed on a loop in your mind. you tossed and turned, the silence punctuated only by the rhythmic tapping of rain against your window. finally, unable to bear the tension any longer, you crept out of bed and tiptoed towards the door, hoping to get some fresh air.

just as you were about to unlock the door the ‘ding’ of the elevator’s arrival stopped you in your tracks. who could it be this late at night?

peeking through the peephole, you were met with a sight that sent a fresh wave of terror coursing through you. heeseung stood casually a few feet away from your door, the rain slicking his dark hair back from his forehead.

he was whistling a cheerful tune, completely oblivious to your scrutiny. but what truly sent shivers down your spine was the state of his hands. they were stained with something dark and viscous, drying in the cool night air. it looked… suspiciously like blood.

the blood ran cold in your veins. just as you were about to pull back, heeseung paused, his head tilting ever so slightly as if he could sense you watching. a slow, unnerving smirk spread across his face, his eyes seeming to lock with yours through the peephole. how? it was impossible.

panic clawed at you. you stumbled back, adrenaline flooding your system. you had to warn the others. heeseung couldn't be trusted.

the next day, you stormed into mrs. kim's apartment, her usual cheery demeanour replaced by a frantic urgency. you blurted out everything – the coldness, the lack of a heartbeat, and the bloodstains you witnessed the night before.

mrs. kim, however, listened with a furrowed brow. "blood? are you sure, dear? heeseung wouldn't hurt a fly."

heeseung, conveniently appearing in the midst of your outburst, played the part of the concerned neighbour perfectly.

"is everything alright here?" he asked, his voice dripping with feigned innocence. "seems a little tense."

mrs. kim just dismissed him, shaking her head with a small chuckle, “nothing dear, it’s not important.”

his smile was disarming, his eyes brimming with feigned innocence. "oh i see. what were you two talking about so intently then?"

you glared at him, your voice trembling with barely contained anger. "i was just telling mrs. kim about your… unusual habits." you recounted the previous night's events, your gaze flitting between mrs. kim and heeseung.

heeseung chuckled, a light, airy sound that sent shivers down your spine. immediately, his expression morphed into one of concern, looking at mrs kim. "hasn’t she been acting strangely lately? maybe a little… stressed?"

his words stung. he was twisting the narrative, making you seem paranoid and delusional. your frustration grew, your voice rising as you tried to explain what you saw, but your neighbour's eyes held only pity and dismissal.

mrs. kim patted your hand soothingly. "maybe you're just a little stressed, dear. heeseung's a good boy, always looking out for everyone. don't you worry about him."

shame burned in your cheeks. you were alone, your warnings falling on deaf ears. heeseung's smile widened, the glint in his eyes predatory.

"see?" he said, his voice low and menacing, but directed only at you. "sometimes, silence is the best policy."

with that, he turned and sauntered away, leaving you trapped in a nightmare you couldn't seem to wake up from.

back in your apartment, you sank onto the couch, a defeated sigh escaping your lips. you were alone, your suspicions dismissed as paranoia. but the image of heeseung's bloodstained hands, his chilling smirk, burned into your memory. you wouldn't give up. you had to find a way to expose him, to prove to everyone that the perfect neighbour was nothing but a monster in disguise.

Teeth

the bass vibrated through the floor, the air thick with sweat and the sweet scent of spilled cocktails. you were lost in the music, laughing with your friends, a rare moment of reprieve from the constant worry that was heeseung. the tipsy buzz from the vodka-cranberries only amplified the carefree feeling, pushing his unsettling presence to the back of your mind.

tipsy from a few too many drinks, you excused yourself, needing a momentary escape from the pulsating heat of the dance floor of the club. the cool night air was a welcome change as you stepped into the balcony, the cityscape shimmering under the neon glow. a sudden prickle ran down your spine, making you stop mid-step. it was the distinct feeling of someone's gaze boring into you, a predator sizing up its prey.

your heart hammered against your ribs as you spun around, searching the crowd. there, leaning against the wall opposite the club entrance, stood heeseung. his perfect features were cast in shadow, but the glint of his eyes in the darkness sent a shiver down your spine. he held a drink in his hand, his knuckles white around the glass, as if tightening his grip to control himself.

the moment you locked eyes with him, the air crackled with a tension so thick you could almost taste it. it wasn't just fear this time. there was a strange undercurrent, a dark energy that seemed to emanate from him.

your mind, fuzzy from the alcohol, couldn't quite grasp it, but your body reacted instinctively. panic surged through you, erasing the tipsy haze. this wasn't the charming neighbour; this was the dangerous entity you'd glimpsed before.

you didn't waste a second. turning on your heel, you practically sprinted back into the club, weaving through the crowd. your breath came out in ragged gasps, fueled by a cocktail of fear and the alcohol throbbing in your veins.

with a desperate lunge, you pushed open the nearest door, the sign above it proclaiming it a restroom.

just as you fumbled for the lock, a strong hand shot past your shoulder, wedging itself between the door and the frame. you froze, staring in horror as heeseung casually pushed his way in behind you. he slammed the door shut with a sickening thud, the lock clicking ominously behind him.

he cornered you against the door, his body acting as a wall and a scent that was both familiar and strangely intoxicating. the air crackled with unspoken tension, thick with the remnants of your fear and an undeniable spark of…something else.

“what do you think you’re doing?”, you winced at how weak your voice sounded.

he leaned impossibly close, his breath chilly against your ear. he seemed to be tipsy as well, with the way he stumbled and invaded your personal space.

the alcohol loosened your inhibitions, and his voice, usually smooth and playful, now had a dark, alluring edge to it.

"you looked beautiful dancing under those lights," he whispered, his words sending shivers down your spine. "such a shame you seem to hate me so."

his nearness was overwhelming. you couldn't feel any heat radiating from his body, but the way his lips brushed against your ear sent a jolt through you. his voice, usually smooth as silk, now had a rough edge, sending a shiver down your spine that wasn't entirely unpleasant.

your mind, fuzzy from the alcohol, struggled to process the situation. he was terrifying, yes, but a strange, confusing attraction warred with the fear simmering beneath the surface.

your gaze latched onto the physical beauty in front of you - the sharp angles of his jaw, the way the moonlight glinted off his dark brown eyes. all the warnings you'd tried to ignore hammered against your intoxicated mind, but for some reason, they held no power in the face of the undeniable magnetism of the man pinning you to the door.

“what do you want from me”, your words came out in a hushed whisper, scared as if speaking any louder would ruin the moment.

his gaze flitted down to your lips as he got closer to you, now only a breath away. he leaned closer, the scent of something foreign, yet oddly alluring, invading your senses.

his gaze dropped to your lips, painted a soft pink from the drinks you'd consumed.

before you could register the movement, his lips were on yours. the kiss was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions – the initial shock giving way to a surge of heat that defied logic. his hand slid down your back, pressing you flush against the wooden door.you clung to him, a confused mix of fear and a thrilling sense of forbidden desire coursing through you.

the kiss deepened, becoming desperate, hungry. he tasted of something sweet and metallic, a strange anomaly that sent a jolt through your system. you ignored it, caught up in the intoxicating whirlwind.

his body was freezing cold, save for his lips, his skin a contrast against the heat from your body which made a wave of concern rise up in the back of your head. but it was all forgotten as his hand moved to your neck, his fingers trailing a chilly path before dipping behind your ear.

you gasped at the sudden feeling, and heeseung took the opportunity to let his tongue enter your mouth. the kiss got messier and hotter, as if he was trying to devour you whole.

he rained kisses down your jawline, each one a searing brand against your skin. his touch sent shivers of anticipation down your spine, your breath hitching as you felt his teeth graze a sensitive spot.

it wasn't a bite, not yet. it was a brush, a feather-light caress that sent a jolt through your system. but it wasn't just the touch. there was something… different about his canines. they were sharper, pointier than human teeth, and the sensation sent a wave of surprise through you.

he froze, the movement of his mouth stopping abruptly. his breath hitched in his throat, coming out in ragged gasps like a predator startled mid-hunt. his eyes, locked on your neck, flickered with a mix of hunger and… something else. a flicker of remorse, a struggle you couldn't quite decipher.

the tension in the room was suffocating. you stared back at him, your mind a tangled mess of confusion and desire. but before you could form a question, before you could understand the shift in him, heeseung pulled away. his grip on your neck loosened, replaced by a cold indifference.

his eyes, once filled with a dark desire, now held a chilling emptiness. the warmth of his body vanished as he stepped back, leaving you feeling exposed and vulnerable. he stared at you for a long, agonising moment, his eyes unreadable.

then, in a swift movement, he turned and walked out of the bathroom, leaving you pressed against the door, the memory of the heated kiss a stark contrast to the cold dread settling in your stomach.

the heat of the kiss still lingered on your lips, a confusing memory tainted by the chilling realisation of what he truly was. you cradled your neck, the phantom sensation of his sharp touch lingering long after he was gone.

Teeth

days bled into a strange silence. the unsettling encounters with heeseung, once a daily occurrence, had vanished. you wouldn't normally miss his presence, but the sudden absence gnawed at you with an unsettling curiosity. you found yourself glancing down the hallway at his door more often than you cared to admit, the memory of the stolen kiss replaying in your mind in a confusing loop.

the thought of venturing to his apartment, of seeking him out after the charged encounter in the washroom, sent a jolt of nervous energy through you.

shame burned in your cheeks at the memory of the heated kiss, a stark contrast to the chilling way he'd left you. yet, a sliver of concern gnawed at you. his absence was unnerving.

finally, curiosity, laced with apprehension, won over your better judgement. you stood outside his door, heart hammering a frantic rhythm against your ribs. taking a deep breath, you raised your hand and knocked tentatively.

the silence stretched for what felt like an eternity before the door creaked open a sliver. heeseung stood there, his face pale and drawn, dark circles smudging the area under his eyes. he looked… unwell.

"heeseung?" you ventured, surprised by the concern that slipped into your voice. "are you alright? you look terrible."

he didn't answer, just stared at you with an icy indifference that sent a shiver down your spine. the playful glint in his eyes, once so unsettling, was replaced by a hollowness that chilled you to the bone.

heeseung scoffed, a harsh sound that scraped against your nerves. "i'm fine. now leave."

the hostility in his voice stung. the concern you felt evaporated, replaced by a cold anger.

"look," you snapped, "i just came to see if you were okay. but clearly, you don't want the help."

he scoffed, a humourless sound. "of course not. why would i need help from the likes of you?"

he slammed the door shut before you could retort, leaving you standing alone in the hallway, the echo of his harsh words ringing in your ears. shame burned in your cheeks, a confusing mix of hurt and anger churning in your gut.

how dare he act like you were the villain? he was the one who made your life a living nightmare, the one with secrets that sent shivers down your spine.

scowling, you berated yourself for your momentary lapse in judgement. you hated him. you had to.

he was a danger, a monster in disguise. yet, the flicker of something vulnerable you'd glimpsed in his eyes, the way he'd pulled away so abruptly… it was a confusing puzzle you couldn't seem to solve.

Teeth

heeseung stumbled out of his apartment, a desperate lurch in his gait that spoke volumes of his weakened state. he fumbled with grabbing his keys, nearly dropping them, before finally unlocking the deadbolt.

he needed to get out, anywhere but the suffocating confines of his apartment. he threw a glance down the hallway, hoping for an empty elevator, but his luck had run dry. the red "in use" light mocked him above the metal doors.

he slammed on the button, urgency pushing past the haze in his head. as the doors dinged open, revealing you standing there, his heart sank.

heeseung flinched back, shuffling into the corner like a wounded animal. "get… out," he rasped, his voice barely a whisper.

"seriously?" you scoffed, following him with your glare. "that makeout session in the club must have been rough if you can't even stand the sight of me now."

heeseung remained silent, the effort of breathing stealing his focus. you rolled your eyes, muttering under your breath about his lack of manners. you turned away, choosing to ignore him.

suddenly, the elevator lurched to a halt, plunging the cramped space into slight darkness. a metallic groan filled the air.

"great," you sighed, reaching for the call button. "looks like we're stuck."

a strained voice answered through the speaker, informing you that a technician would be on their way shortly.

"shortly?" you groaned. "how long is shortly?"

"it's hard to say, ma'am. there's been a minor fault in the system."

you groaned, sinking down onto the floor.

heeseung remained silent, his body trembling. every passing second felt like an eternity. hunger gnawed at him, a primal urge clawing its way to the surface. he gritted his teeth, fighting against the monstrous transformation that threatened to take over.

"hey," he rasped, his voice barely a whisper.

you shot him a sceptical glance. "what?"

shame burned in his throat, but the need for survival outweighed his pride. "do you… by any chance… have any blood on you?"

you leaned closer, your suspicions finally confirmed.

"about time you admitted it," you cheered, a triumphant smirk creeping across your face. "i knew you weren't normal."

heeseung let out a dark chuckle, a sound devoid of humour. "don't get too excited," he rasped. "you shouldn't be so happy about this."

"oh, come on," you scoffed. "spill it. what are you? some kind of freak?"

a tense silence followed, broken only by the hum of the faulty elevator. finally, he spoke, his voice barely a whisper.

"vampire."

shock flooded your system. it was one thing to suspect, another to hear it confirmed.

"no way," you scoffed, refusing to believe it. "vampires don't exist."

but his next words sent a shiver down your spine. "the reason i stopped you at the club… it wasn't because of the kiss. it was the smell of your blood. it was… intoxicating."

"ever since i've met you…" he began, his voice surprisingly soft despite the edge of desperation in it. "the smell of your blood, so sweet, has been driving me crazy. so different from anything i've ever encountered."

he paused, a tremor running through his voice. "for years, i've resisted feeding on humans. morality, you might call it. i rely on animal blood, a poor substitute at best. but your blood…" he took a shaky breath, "it was like a siren song. after that night, i can’t even smell any other type of blood without my stomach churning in disgust."

you listened intently, a strange fascination battling with the fear that coiled in your gut. this wasn't the heeseung you knew, the playful neighbor who reveled in teasing you. this was a creature raw and exposed, driven by a primal need he could barely articulate.

"years," he continued, his voice cracking slightly. "years of animal blood, a constant reminder of what i can't have. but then you…" he trailed off, the echo of that night in the club hanging heavy between you.

a shiver ran down your spine, but it wasn't entirely from fear. there was a vulnerability in his confession, a desperate need for something more than just sustenance.

"the challenge," he said, his voice gaining a tinge of bitterness. "the forbidden fruit. maybe that's what drew me in at first. but then…" he hesitated, a flicker of something akin to shame crossing his features.

"then what?" you prompted, your voice barely a whisper. this wasn't how you'd imagined confronting a vampire, yet here you were, drawn into his story.

"don't you see?" heeseung's voice rose, a tremor of desperation colouring it. "you make me weak, vulnerable. yet, your defiance only intensifies the pull. you're everything i shouldn't want, everything i crave."

the revelation sent a jolt through you, a terrifying mix of fear and… something else. the line between predator and prey seemed to blur in the confines of the elevator. you were trapped, yes, but there was also a strange sense of being held hostage by a creature consumed by a desire he both craved and loathed.

the silence that followed heeseung's confession stretched on, thick with a tension that was no longer just fear. you understood him, perhaps better than he understood himself.

taking a deep breath, you surprised yourself by what you said next. "maybe there’s another way."

heeseung's head snapped up, his eyes searching your face in the dim light. "what do you mean?"

"i can help" you held out your wrist, the moonlight filtering through a crack in the elevator door illuminating the delicate veins beneath your skin. "you said you needed blood. maybe i can…

he recoiled as if struck. "no. absolutely not. i won't—"

"heeseung," you interrupted, your voice firm despite the tremor in your heart. "look at me. i'm not scared. in fact…" you hesitated, a blush creeping up your neck. "maybe i… feel the same way."

the air crackled with a new kind of tension. heeseung stared at you, his face a mask of disbelief. "the same way? how?"

"like you said," you whispered, "forbidden. a dangerous attraction." you met his gaze, holding it with a newfound resolve. "if this is what you need, i… i consent."

heeseung's breath hitched. shame flickered in his eyes, quickly replaced by a raw hunger that made your own pulse quicken. "but," he said, his voice low and urgent, "i need more. much more. and from… a different place."

your stomach lurched. "different place?"

a flicker of vulnerability crossed his features. "my apologies," he murmured. "to properly sustain me, i need… the jugular."

the word hung heavy in the air, a primal request that sent a wave of apprehension through you. the image of a vampire sinking its fangs into someone's neck flashed before your eyes. but then, against your better judgment, you found yourself nodding slowly.

a surge of relief, tinged with desperation, washed over heeseung. he moved towards you, a predator closing in on its prey. the closeness brought back a memory - the night in the club bathroom, pressed against the wall, his chilly breath on your neck.

he trapped you against the corner, his body a wall of heat, completely different from the other day where he was freezing.

"please," he rasped, his voice raw with hunger and a strange, desperate plea. "i can't control myself much longer. let me…"

his voice trailed off, replaced by a whimper that both shocked and ignited something within you. this wasn't the cold, calculating heeseung you'd feared. this was a creature on the brink, his monstrous hunger battling with a threadbare shred of control.

"alright," you whispered, the word leaving your lips before you could overthink it.

he didn't hesitate. he leaned in, his movements a blur of desperation. kisses, hot and wet, rained down on your neck, each one a branding iron leaving a fiery mark. you closed your eyes, bracing yourself for the pain. but it never came.

instead, as his fangs pierced your skin, a jolt of something unexpected surged through you. it wasn't pain, but a warmth that spread through your body like liquid fire. your mind grew hazy, your senses overwhelmed by a wave of pleasure that originated from the very point of contact.

he moaned, a deep, primal sound that echoed in the confined space. "so sweet," he whispered, his voice thick with desire. "the best i've ever tasted."

he drank deeply, his body trembling with each intake. you could hear him purring, a low rumble that resonated deep within your core. the pleasure was overwhelming, a dizzying mixture of pain and pleasure that left you gasping for breath. your mind turned hazy, each noise tumbling out of his lips sounding like liquid gold to you.

when he finally pulled away, breathless and satiated, he looked at you with an intensity that sent shivers down your spine. he languidly licked away the remnants of blood from the wound, his warm tongue sending a jolt of electricity through you.

he didn't stop there. he swiped at the blood that trickled down your collarbone, his tongue making a suggestive swipe against your skin. a dangerous glint flickered in his eyes, and you couldn't help but lean closer, a thrill coursing through you.

the jarring hum of the elevator coming back to life jolted you both from your current position. heeseung, his fangs retracted, quickly pressed the button for your floor. a strange mixture of fear and elation bubbled in your chest, a sensation as unfamiliar as the pleasure you'd just experienced.

he turned to you, his eyes searching your face. "are you alright?" his voice was concerned, a stark contrast to his needy whines just moments ago.

you hesitantly reached for your neck, expecting a throbbing pain. instead, you found smooth, unmarked skin. a gasp escaped your lips. "it… it healed?"

heeseung nodded, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "vampire saliva," he explained casually. "has a few… interesting properties. speeds up healing, for one."

a blush crept up your cheeks as you recalled the wave of euphoria that had washed over you during his feeding. "and…" you stammered, "the pleasure?"

"speaking of pleasure," heeseung's voice dipped to a husky whisper, "vampire saliva has another... side effect."

he leaned closer, his lips brushing against your ear. "an aphrodisiac," he breathed, his words sending a shiver down your spine. "especially potent when mixed with a good dose of desire. all thanks to those initial kisses on your neck i had planted.”

"so that's why…" you mumbled, suddenly embarrassed.

the elevator doors slid open, revealing the familiar hallway. you stepped out, feeling oddly energised despite the ordeal. a playful smile tugged at your lips.

"so," you said, turning to face him, your fingers playfully tapping his arm, "how do you plan to repay me for that little… service?"

heeseung raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. before he could answer, he leaned down, his lips brushing against your forehead in a sweet kiss. pulling away, he grinned, his fangs catching the dim light playfully.

your heart hammered in your chest as he took your hand, his touch sending a spark of heat through you. stepping closer to your apartment, he winked.

"let's discuss repayment options in private, shall we?" he said, his voice dripping with a promise of things to come.

he took your hand again, his touch surprisingly warm despite his vampiric nature. before you could respond, he gently steered you towards your apartment, leaving you breathless and caught in the undercurrent of a dangerous, exhilarating game you'd just begun to play.

as you fumbled with your keys, trying to unlock the door in hurry, he leaned down next to you and murmured, his voice a low, suggestive rumble.

"i'm sure you taste just as good everywhere else."

Fatal Trouble

the soft glow of your laptop screen illuminated your face, casting long shadows across sunghoon's pristine white sheets. you were sprawled out on his bed, legs crossed beneath you, surrounded by a chaotic scatter of textbooks and papers. the quiet hum of the air conditioner filled the room, broken only by the intermittent clicks of your keyboard.

sunghoon sat at his desk, a silhouette against the darkened room, save for the focused beam of his desk lamp. his fingers danced across the keyboard with an almost rhythmic precision, the soft glow of the screen reflecting in his dark eyes. you’d grown accustomed to the sight of him engrossed in his work, a solitary figure lost in the world of ones and zeros.

you’d known each other for a few months now, the kind of acquaintance born out of shared living space and the occasional group project. as roommates sharing the same major, your apartment had become a de facto study hub. computer science had thrown you together more often than not, and tonight was no exception.

“hey, did you get the part about the algorithm?” your voice, a whisper in the quiet, cut through the comfortable silence.

sunghoon glanced up, his eyes a deep, almost unnatural shade of red in the dim light. for a moment, you were struck by how different he looked compared to the daylight. “yeah, i think so. isn’t it something about minimising the time complexity?”

you nodded, your eyes scanning the code on your screen. “exactly. i’m just having trouble with the implementation.”

a comfortable silence settled over the room as you both focused on your respective screens. the only sound was the rhythmic tapping of keys and the occasional sigh of frustration. you glanced up at sunghoon, his profile illuminated by the soft glow of his monitor. his long, slender fingers moved with an almost hypnotic grace across the keyboard.

there was something undeniably attractive about his focused intensity. his features, normally sharp and aloof, softened slightly when he was engrossed in his work. it was a side of him you rarely saw, and it was oddly captivating.

you shook your head, mentally scolding yourself for such thoughts. he was your roommate, nothing more. and besides, there was no way he could be interested in someone like you.

“hey,” sunghoon’s voice cut through your reverie, “i think i figured it out.”

you blinked, startled. “oh, really? want to explain it?”

he nodded, sliding his chair back and standing up. he walked over to your side of the bed, his tall frame looming over you. as he leaned in to point at your screen, his scent washed over you – a subtle blend of wood and something else, almost sweet, that you couldn’t quite place.

you felt a strange warmth creeping up your neck as he hovered over you. his proximity was unnerving, yet strangely intoxicating. you swallowed hard, trying to focus on the code in front of you.

sunghoon's breath was warm against your ear as he leaned in closer, his voice a low rumble, "try this." his finger hovered over your keyboard, about to demonstrate.

you felt a shiver run down your spine, not from the cool night air but from the inexplicable sensation of being so close to him. his scent, a mix of something woodsy and faintly sweet, was intoxicating. you tried to focus on the code, to ignore the way your heart was pounding in your chest.

he typed a few lines, his fingers brushing against yours. the contact sent a jolt of electricity through you. you forced yourself to concentrate on the screen, trying to understand the changes he made.

"see?" he said, straightening up. "it's simpler this way."

you nodded, still reeling from the physical contact. "thanks," you managed to say, your voice barely a whisper.

sunghoon stepped back, a small smile playing on his lips. "no problem," he said, turning back to his own computer.

you took a deep breath, trying to calm your racing heart. it was just sunghoon, your roommate. nothing more. but the way he had acted, the way he had touched you, it was making it hard to think of him that way.

the room was quiet again, the only sounds the soft clacking of keyboards and the occasional rustle of paper. you were deep in thought, trying to wrap your head around a particularly complex problem when a question popped into your head. on impulse, you asked, “so, sunghoon, what do you do in your free time, when you’re not, you know, studying?”

sunghoon paused, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. a flicker of something, perhaps surprise or amusement, passed across his face before he responded smoothly, “free time is a luxury for a computer science student, don’t you think? but when i do find a spare moment, i usually spend it reading or exploring new coding languages.”

his answer was polite, but it felt rehearsed, as if he'd prepared a response for just such a question. a sense of curiosity sparked within you. you’d always thought sunghoon was a bit of an enigma, but this was a new level of intrigue.

curiosity, a persistent itch, prodded you to ask something more than just about schoolwork.

“hey, i was curious about this” you started, your voice barely audible over the hum of the air conditioner, “where are you from?” it was a simple question, one you would normally ask any new acquaintance, but there was something about sunghoon that made you curious about his past.

he paused, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. for a moment, there was a stillness in the room that was almost palpable. then, with a casual shrug, he replied, "oh, just a small town. nothing interesting." the response was swift, deflecting your question with ease.

confused, you returned to your code, but your mind was racing. there was something off about sunghoon, something that had intrigued you from the moment you met him. you couldn’t quite put your finger on it, but there were strange little details that had started to accumulate.

there were those odd instances – like the time you'd woken up in the middle of the night to find the kitchen light on and sunghoon standing at the counter, completely motionless, his eyes glowing an eerie red. or the way he seemed to have an uncanny ability to appear and disappear without a sound. and then there was the peculiar lack of a reflection in any mirror in his room.

these memories surfaced, sharp and clear, as if your brain was piecing together a puzzle it didn't know existed. you shook your head, dismissing the thoughts as overactive imagination. after all, sunghoon was just your roommate, a fellow computer science student. nothing more, nothing less.

a yawn escaped your lips as you stretched, the late hour finally catching up with you. “i think i’m going to call it a night,” you announced, rubbing your eyes. the weight of the unanswered questions about sunghoon was beginning to feel heavy.

sunghoon nodded, his gaze fixed on the computer screen. “alright, good night then. i’ll probably stay up a bit longer.”

you nodded in response, swinging your legs over the side of the bed. as you stood up, you glanced down at the floor. something was off. the soft glow from sunghoon’s computer cast long shadows on the floor, including a distinct one from his chair. but there was no shadow of sunghoon himself. the spot where his shadow should have been was empty, an inky void against the illuminated floor.

a chill ran down your spine. your heart pounded in your ears. your mind raced, trying to come up with a logical explanation, but nothing made sense. you snatched up your bag, your movements jerky and panicked. without a second thought, you fled back to your room, the door slamming shut behind you. you fumbled with the lock, your hands trembling. only when you heard the satisfying click of the lock did you allow yourself to breathe.

your heart pounded in your ears as you leaned against the cool metal of your door. the realisation of what you had seen was slowly sinking in. no human lacked a shadow. it was impossible. a chill ran down your spine.

you tried to rationalise it away. maybe there was a draft, or a trick of the light. but deep down, you knew better. something was profoundly wrong, and it was connected to sunghoon. the friendly, quiet roommate you thought you knew was now shrouded in an unsettling mystery.

you glanced at the clock. it was late, and exhaustion was starting to creep in. you needed to sleep, to clear your head. but how could you sleep with this looming over you? you decided to distract yourself by pulling out a book from your shelf, hoping the words would drown out the unsettling thoughts.

as you turned the pages, your mind kept drifting back to sunghoon. his unusual behaviour, the absence of his shadow, it all fit together into a terrifying puzzle. you tried to shake off the feeling, but it was like a persistent itch you couldn't scratch.

sleep finally claimed you, but it was restless. your dreams were filled with shadows, long and menacing, closing in on you. you woke up with a start, your heart racing. the first light of dawn was filtering through your curtains. you got out of bed and went to the window. the world outside looked ordinary, peaceful. but you knew the truth was far from it.

something was wrong with sunghoon, and you were determined to find out what.

Fatal Trouble

the days following your unsettling discovery were a blur of forced normalcy. you tried to interact with sunghoon as if nothing was amiss, but the weight of your knowledge cast a long shadow over your interactions. you found yourself avoiding his gaze, your voice trembling when you spoke to him.

sunghoon seemed oblivious to your discomfort at first. he’d always been a quiet person, so his reserved nature didn’t raise any immediate suspicion. however, as the days turned into weeks, his patience began to wear thin.

"hey, are you free to study together tomorrow?" he asked one evening as you were both making dinner. his tone was casual, but you could detect a hint of underlying disappointment.

your heart skipped a beat. you’d been avoiding his study invitations, coming up with increasingly elaborate excuses. the truth hung heavy in the air, a tangible thing between you. you hesitated, your mind racing.

"i... i’m really busy tomorrow," you stammered, your voice barely audible. "maybe next week?"

disappointment flashed across sunghoon’s face before he masked it with a forced smile. "sure, no problem," he replied, his voice flat.

as he turned away, you couldn't shake the feeling of guilt. you'd hurt him, and you knew it.

the night was a descent into terror. you dreamt of shadows, long and menacing, closing in on you. sunghoon was there, but not as you knew him. his eyes burned with an unnatural light, and his form was distorted, monstrous. you were running, but your legs were leaden, and the shadows were gaining on you. a scream built in your throat, but no sound escaped.

you woke with a start, drenched in sweat. your heart pounded like a drumbeat in your chest. panic washed over you as you gasped for air. you were disoriented, unsure of where you were. a noise from the living room startled you, and you jumped out of bed.

the light was on, and there, standing in the doorway, was sunghoon, his face etched with concern. before you could react, you found yourself lunging at him, your hands grasping at his neck. he didn't fight back, instead, he held you tightly, his arms wrapping around you protectively.

your sobs racked your body as you clung to him, finding solace in his warmth. he shushed you softly, his voice a soothing balm to your frayed nerves. gradually, your breathing began to slow, and your body relaxed.

when you finally calmed down, sunghoon gently guided you back to bed. he sat on the edge, running a comforting hand through your hair. you clung to him, your fear slowly dissipating.

in the quiet that followed, you felt a strange urge to confide in him. your voice was barely a whisper when you began, "i dreamt of you... as something... different."

sunghoon stiffened, but his grip on you didn't loosen. something flashed behind his eyes, but he listened intently as you recounted the terrifying details of your nightmare. when you finished, he was silent for a long moment. finally, he whispered, "go back to sleep," and you felt him lean down to kiss your forehead.

with that, he quietly left the room, leaving you alone with your racing thoughts.

Fatal Trouble

the days that followed were a careful ballet of avoidance. you moved through your days with a practised detachment, constructing an invisible wall between yourself and sunghoon. the weight of your decision pressed down on you like a physical burden. despite the burgeoning crush that had blossomed in the quiet corners of your heart, you'd created a formidable wall between yourself and sunghoon. his enigmatic nature, coupled with the unsettling discoveries you'd made, had convinced you to keep him at arm's length. it was a lonely existence, a self-imposed exile that offered a semblance of safety.

your days were a monotonous cycle of lectures, assignments, and solitary meals. you'd found solace in the company of your classmate, lee heeseung, his cheerful demeanour a stark contrast to the storm raging within you. yet, even as you laughed and shared stories with him, a part of you longed for the quiet intensity of sunghoon's presence.

in the vast, impersonal lecture hall, you’d sought refuge in the anonymity of the crowd. but even here, you couldn't escape the weight of your decision. a persistent sense of being watched gnawed at you, a constant reminder of the eyes that followed your every move. and you knew very well who it was. it was during one such lecture that the tension reached a breaking point.

you were engrossed in your notes when a subtle shift in the atmosphere caught your attention. a cold prickle ran down your spine as you slowly turned your head. there, in the row behind you, sat sunghoon, his gaze fixed intently on you. his expression was a complex interplay of emotions - longing, pain, and a flicker of something darker.

your heart pounded in your chest as a wave of guilt washed over you. you'd hurt him, pushed him away without a second thought. in that moment, as his eyes held yours, you realised the depth of your own cowardice.

not to mention, with each passing night your nightmares had intensified. each night a descent into a darker, more terrifying realm. sleep, once a refuge, had transformed into a battlefield, leaving you exhausted and on edge. the physical toll was evident - dark circles shadowed your eyes, and your skin had started to take on a sickly pallor.

despite your deteriorating condition, you continued to maintain your distance from sunghoon. guilt gnawed at you, but fear held you captive. yet, in the aftermath of each nightmare, you found yourself seeking solace in his presence. he’d sit by your bed his silent vigil a comforting anchor in the storm of your nightmares. his touch, gentle and reassuring, had become a lifeline, pulling you back from the brink of despair.

one particularly harrowing night, you woke up screaming, your body drenched in sweat. sunghoon was by your side almost instantly, his arms wrapping around you in a comforting embrace. as your fear subsided, you began to recount the nightmare, your voice trembling.

"i... i dreamt of a place," you managed to say, your words halting. "a dark place, with... with strange symbols."

sunghoon's grip tightened around you. "and you were alone," he finished for you, his voice low and soothing.

your eyes widened in shock. how could he know what you had dreamt about? you hadn’t even managed to complete your story. yet, sunghoon had described it perfectly, as if he had been there with you.

a chill ran down your spine. you pulled away from him, your eyes filled with fear and confusion. sunghoon simply looked at you, his expression unreadable, before turning and leaving the room.

what did this mean? how could sunghoon know about your nightmares? the answers were as elusive as ever, but one thing was certain: the line between the ordinary and the extraordinary was blurring, and you were caught in the crossfire.

Fatal Trouble

the nightmares ceased as abruptly as they had begun. you woke each morning feeling refreshed, the spectre of terror finally lifted from your shoulders. a sense of relief washed over you, but it was tinged with a strange melancholy. the nightly visits from sunghoon, a comforting ritual amidst the chaos, were now absent.

initially, you welcomed the return to normalcy. the constant fear and exhaustion had taken a toll on you, and the ability to sleep soundly was a precious gift. but as days turned into weeks, a nagging sense of unease crept in. sunghoon's absence, once a welcome respite, now felt like a void.

you started noticing subtle changes in him. his eyes, once bright and alert, were now shadowed by dark circles. his once sharp features seemed softened by fatigue. it was as if a weight was pressing down on him, a burden he carried alone.

a pang of guilt struck you. perhaps your avoidance had contributed to his deteriorating condition. you wanted to reach out, to offer support, but fear held you back. what if your presence only made things worse? what if you discovered something terrifying?

you longed to reach out to him, to offer solace and support, but the words remained trapped in your throat. the fear of rejection, of further pushing him away, paralyzed you. it was a cruel irony that the person you yearned to comfort was the one causing you the most pain.

the afternoon sun beat down on the bustling campus as you made your way towards the nearest convenience store. the promise of a refreshing popsicle was the only thing that could lure you away from the confines of your dorm room. with a popsicle clutched in your hand, you emerged from the store, ready to face the world, one frozen treat at a time.

just as you were about to savour the first bite, heeseung materialised beside you, his infectious grin lighting up his face. "arcade?" he suggested, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. you nodded, the prospect of a distraction proving too tempting to resist.

you split the popsicle down the middle, the sweet, icy treat a welcome respite from the oppressive heat. as you handed one half to heeseung, a strange sensation washed over you. it was as if a cold draft had swept across your skin, a shiver that had nothing to do with the melting popsicle in your hand.

instinctively, you turned around, your heart pounding in your chest. there, on the other side of the road, stood sunghoon, his figure cast in the harsh sunlight. his eyes, usually guarded, were fixed on you with an intensity that bordered on hostility. a scowl marred his usually indifferent features, and his jaw was clenched tightly.

you offered a timid smile, a feeble attempt to bridge the chasm between you. but his gaze remained unwavering, cold and unforgiving. with a final, contemptuous glance, he turned and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.

a wave of guilt and confusion washed over you. you'd hurt him, you knew that. but the intensity of his reaction was unexpected, almost frightening. as you turned back to heeseung, you forced a smile, determined to push the unsettling encounter to the back of your mind.

the encounter with sunghoon left a bitter taste in your mouth. his hostile glare had shattered the fragile peace you'd been cultivating. as you and heeseung made your way to the arcade, your mind raced, trying to decipher the meaning behind sunghoon's outburst. had your avoidance pushed him to the brink? or was there something more sinister at play?

the arcade, with its flashing lights and the cacophony of sound, offered a temporary escape from the turmoil within. you lost yourself in the rhythm of the games, the competitive spirit temporarily drowning out the unsettling incident. yet, even as you laughed and cheered with heeseung, your mind kept drifting back to sunghoon, his angry gaze burning into your memory.

as the afternoon wore on, a sense of unease settled over you. the carefree atmosphere of the arcade couldn't mask the growing storm within. the incident with sunghoon had opened a wound, a raw and painful reminder of the complex dynamics between you.

you glanced at heeseung, his laughter infectious, and felt a pang of guilt. he was doing everything to lift your spirits, to distract you from your troubles. but your mind was elsewhere, trapped in a labyrinth of doubt and fear.

the walk back to your dorm was a solitary affair. the campus, usually bustling with activity, seemed deserted. with each step, the weight of your worries grew heavier. the encounter with sunghoon had forced you to confront the reality of the situation. you couldn't continue to bury your head in the sand, hoping that the problem would resolve itself.

the weight of the day pressed down on you as you unlocked the apartment door. exhaustion tugged at your limbs, but the lingering unease from your encounter with sunghoon kept your mind racing.

as you stepped into the living room, a jolt of surprise ran through you. sunghoon was standing in the kitchen, his silhouette outlined by the soft glow of the refrigerator.

there was an unnatural stillness to him, a predatory calm that sent a shiver down your spine. his eyes, when they met yours, held a strange intensity, a glint of something dangerous lurking beneath the surface. "fancy seeing you here," he said, his voice low and measured.

you forced a smile, your heart pounding in your chest. "just got back," you replied, your voice barely a whisper.

he approached you slowly, his steps deliberate. "we have that new assignment," he began, his voice low and seductive. "maybe we could work on it together tomorrow?"

your mind raced, trying to come up with an excuse. "i'm... i'm pretty busy," you stammered, avoiding his gaze.

sunghoon's expression darkened. with a swift movement, he closed the distance between you, cornering you against the kitchen counter, his hands grabbing your hips. his proximity was unnerving, his scent, a mix of wood and something faintly sweet, filling your senses. you could feel his breath on your skin, hot and heavy.

"don't lie to me," he hissed, his voice low and menacing. "i know what's going on."

his grip tightened around you, and you winced.

"it's nothing," you insisted, your voice trembling. "just... busy."

"busy with heeseung?" he spat out, his jealousy evident in his tone. his eyes narrowed, and you could see the anger simmering beneath the surface.

your face flushed with embarrassment. he was taking this the wrong way. “it’s not like that,” you stammered, your voice barely a whisper.

sunghoon's grip tightened, pinning you against the cool surface of the counter. his breath was warm against your skin, and a strange sensation, a mix of fear and excitement, coursed through your veins.

“don’t lie to me,” he repeated, his voice low and dangerous. “you're avoiding me.”

you didn't know why, but the power dynamic between you and sunghoon was intoxicating. he had never behaved this way before let alone showcase jealousy so blatantly. it was hot. you felt a blush creeping up your cheeks, a mixture of embarrassment and arousal.

before you could respond, you found yourself leaning in, your lips brushing against his. it was an impulsive act, a desperate attempt to silence him, to end the confrontation. but, to your surprise, he responded, his lips moving against yours with a gentle intensity.

the world seemed to slow down as the kiss deepened. but as quickly as it had begun, it ended. you pulled away, your heart pounding in your chest.

overwhelmed by a rush of emotions, you turned and fled to your room, slamming the door behind you. you leaned against the door, panting, your mind racing.

the realisation of what you had done hit you like a tidal wave. you had kissed your roommate, a person you were actively avoiding due to a growing sense of fear and unease. the implications of your actions were terrifying. you'd crossed a line, a boundary you had carefully constructed to protect yourself.

a series of frantic knocks on the door jolted you out of your stupor. it was sunghoon, his voice muffled through the wood. "open up, please," he pleaded. your heart pounded in your chest. you couldn't face him now. you needed time to process what had happened, to regain control of the situation.

the knocking continued for a few minutes before finally ceasing. silence enveloped the room, heavy and oppressive. you slid down the door, your body trembling. what had you done?

Fatal Trouble

morning arrived with a sense of foreboding. the thought of facing sunghoon filled you with dread, but the need to uncover the truth was stronger. you waited until the sound of his footsteps faded down the hallway, a sign that he had left for his morning jog.

with a deep breath, you crept into sunghoon's room, a sense of trepidation gnawing at you. the room was immaculate, a stark contrast to the chaos that often reigned in your own space. everything had its place, every surface spotless. there were no hidden compartments, no secret drawers, no clues to the enigmatic man who inhabited this space.

disappointment washed over you. you'd hoped to find something, anything that would explain the strange occurrences, the unsettling behaviour. but the room held no secrets, only a sense of emptiness.

your eyes scanned the room, searching for any hidden compartments or secret passages. everything seemed ordinary, almost mundane. disappointment was beginning to creep in when your gaze fell on a small cabinet tucked beneath sunghoon's desk. it was always locked, a tantalising enigma that had piqued your curiosity countless times.

today, however, there was a change. a key was lodged in the lock, an open invitation to delve into the forbidden. a wave of hesitation washed over you. you were invading his privacy, crossing a line you had sworn never to cross. but the allure of the unknown was too strong. curiosity, like a relentless tide, pulled you forward.

with trembling hands, you grasped the key and turned it. the lock clicked open with a satisfyingly smooth sound. you slid open the cabinet door, your heart pounding in your chest. a mini-fridge, small and unassuming, greeted you. a wave of relief washed over you. so this was the secret? a hidden stash of snacks?

you reached out to open the fridge door, a smirk playing on your lips. but as the cool air enveloped you, your blood ran cold.

inside, lined up neatly on the shelves, were rows of blood bags. the crimson liquid glinted in the dim light, a chilling contrast to the sterile white plastic. the sight was so surreal, so utterly horrifying, that for a moment, you thought you were hallucinating.

your mind went blank. a wave of nausea washed over you as you stared at the horrifying contents of the fridge. this couldn't be real. this was a nightmare, a twisted hallucination. but the cold, hard truth stared back at you, undeniable and terrifying.

the world tilted as your legs gave way, sending you crashing to the knees. blood bags. sunghoon kept blood bags. your roommate, the seemingly normal guy you knew, was a… vampire? the very concept seemed absurd, ripped from the pages of a fantasy novel. yet, the evidence sat before you, a stark reality that defied logic.

panic clawed at your throat, but a desperate hope flickered within you. maybe it was a medical condition. maybe he had a strange blood fetish. anything but a vampire!

"vampires don't exist, do they?", you mutter to yourself still in shock.

"yes, they do," a low voice confirmed, sending a tremor through your entire body. you spun around, scream caught in your throat. sunghoon stood in the doorway, his face unreadable, his eyes a bottomless well of emotions.

shame washed over you in a tidal wave. you felt exposed, not just for snooping, but for the fear and disgust that clouded your mind.

jumping out the window, a ridiculous notion moments ago, now seemed like the only way out. here, trapped in this surreal nightmare, your only escape seemed to be a dramatic leap from the fourth floor. it wouldn't kill you, right? you’d only break a few bones at best, which you were absolutely okay with.

with a burst of adrenaline, you scrambled to your feet and bolted towards the window, desperation fueling your actions. but before you could reach the latch, a hand clamped around your waist, pulling you back with an iron grip. "don't even think about it," sunghoon's voice was a low growl, the air crackling with unspoken emotions.

you were pinned against his chest, his warmth a stark contrast to the chilling terror that gripped you. his eyes, no longer cold and distant, burned with a mix of anger and concern.

his words hung in the air, a stark contrast to the wildness of your actions. you struggled against his hold, your fear fueling your resistance. but there was an undeniable strength in him, a power that held you captive.

"please, let me go," you gasped, your voice trembling.

sunghoon's grip loosened slightly, and he took a step back. his eyes held a mixture of concern and something else, something you couldn't quite decipher. "i won't hurt you," he said, his voice soft. "i need to explain."

your eyes met his, a mixture of fear and confusion swirling in their depths. sunghoon seemed to read your mind, his expression softening as he took a step closer. he sighed, a heavy exhale that seemed to carry the weight of centuries.

"i know this is a lot to take in," he began, his voice low and steady. "but i need you to trust me."

you nodded, your mind racing. there was something about his tone, a vulnerability beneath the hardened exterior, that compelled you to listen.

"i'm a vampire," he said, the words hanging heavy in the air. "it's not how i wanted things to be, but it's the reality i've been forced to live with."

he paused, his eyes searching your face for any signs of revulsion. but to your surprise, a strange sense of calm washed over you. this was the answer, the missing piece to the puzzle.

he went on to explain his existence, the centuries of solitude, and the desperate hope that had brought him to you. he talked about the blood bags, a necessary evil to sustain his life.

he continued, his voice laced with a hint of vulnerability. "i’ve been alone for so long. i've tried to live a normal life, to blend in. and then i met you."

his gaze softened, a tender look replacing the earlier intensity. "you're my anchor, my reason to keep going. your nightmares, the ones you've been having, are a connection between us. we share them, a soulmate bond, if you will. it's the only way for me to experience human emotions, to feel truly alive."

the revelation was mind-boggling. a vampire? your soulmate? it was a story straight out of a gothic novel. yet, as he spoke, a sense of peace washed over you. there was a truth in his eyes, a vulnerability that resonated with your own.

without thinking, you reached out and hugged him. your arms wrapped around him, offering comfort and acceptance. he froze, surprised by your sudden embrace.

"i don't care," you whispered, your voice muffled against his chest. "i'll figure it out. we'll figure it out together."

he returned the hug, his arms tightening around you. his face was buried in your neck, his breath warm against your skin. you could feel his heart pounding against your chest, a rhythm that mirrored your own. in that moment, surrounded by the warmth of his embrace, fear and confusion faded, replaced by a sense of hope and possibility.

"i'm so sorry about the nightmares," he murmured, his voice filled with regret. "i stopped sleeping for a while, trying to find a way to stop them. i hated seeing you scared, all because of me."

your heart ached for him. he had sacrificed his own well-being to protect you. anger and concern warred within you. how could he be so selfless, so reckless? you pushed against his chest, needing to see his face, to read the emotions swirling in his eyes.

"don't be stupid," you scolded, your voice stern. "you can't just stop sleeping."

you gently pushed against his chest, trying to create some distance between you. you needed to see his face, to gauge his sincerity.

"stop," he whined, his voice laced with playful annoyance. "just stay like this for a little longer."

his words were a stark contrast to the seriousness of the situation, but they had the desired effect. you froze, your body responding to the unexpected shift in tone. sunghoon's grip tightened around you, his face buried in the crook of your neck. his lips brushed against your neck, sending shivers down your spine. the warmth of his breath mingled with the scent of his skin, creating an intoxicating blend that clouded your senses.

you were caught in a whirlwind of emotions, fear and confusion replaced by a growing sense of intimacy. the line between platonic comfort and something more was blurring, and you were dangerously close to crossing it.

his voice dropped to a low octave, a husky rumble that sent shivers down your spine. "i can't stop thinking about how your lips felt against mine last night," he confessed, his breath warm against your skin. he pulled back, his eyes holding yours, a mischievous glint in their depths.

"can we do that again?" he asked, his voice laced with playful arrogance.

before you could respond, his lips were on yours, claiming your mouth with a fierce urgency. the kiss was a whirlwind, a tempest of emotions and sensations. his tongue explored your mouth, demanding entrance, while your hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer. the kiss was different from the one you had shared the night before, filled with a newfound urgency and intensity. his tongue explored your mouth, a dance of desire and longing. you could feel the heat radiating from his body, a warmth that was both intoxicating and terrifying.

his hands found their way to your waist, pulling you closer. with a swift movement, he lifted you onto the bed, his lips trailing a path of fire down your neck. he nuzzled your skin, his breath creating a tingling sensation. "you smell so good," he murmured, his voice a low growl. "i had to stop myself from pouncing on you the first time i saw you."

"from now on, you're sleeping in my bed," he declared, his voice firm. "i need to make sure those nightmares don't come back. and besides, i like having you close."

as he pulled you closer, his arms wrapping around you, you felt a sense of peace wash over you. in this moment, with sunghoon holding you close, everything else seemed to fade away. the line between reality and fantasy blurred, replaced by a single, undeniable truth: you were in the arms of a vampire, and you were dangerously close to falling in love.

his lips trailed down your neck, with such heat that it left you breathless. he nibbled at your skin, his teeth gently scraping against your sensitive flesh. the sensation was both painful and exhilarating, a heady mix of fear and desire. you gasped, your body arching involuntarily.

"i'm not going to bite you," he promised, his voice laced with a hint of mischief.

"not yet, at least."

Y/N rolled over on the bed, stretching out her short legs and arms. She opened her eyes, blinking a few times, attempting to adjust her vision. She quickly sat up, realizing she was in an unfamiliar location. Panicked, she continued to look around the strange room.

“You’re finally awake,” a girl said from across the room. “I was wondering how long you were going to sleep.”

Startled, Y/N jumped, turning around to face the direction that the voice was coming from while grabbing her chest. “Who are you?” Y/N asked.

The girl laughed a non threatening, almost inviting laugh before speaking, “I’m your new roommate, Ryujin.”

“My new roommate?” Y/N repeated. “I don’t understand. Where am I?”

“Where are you?” Ryujin repeated before laughing again. “You’re standing in your new room with the best possible roommate you could have ever gotten.”

Y/N stared with a look of confusion on her face without responding.

“Come on,” Ryujin motioned for Y/N to follow her. “I have specific orders to take you to see Mr. Kim whenever you wake up.”

“Who’s Mr. Kim?” Y/N asked, getting up off the bed to follow Ryujin out of the room.

Ryujin giggled, “you’ll get all of your answers in a little bit.”

“Am I dreaming?” Y/N wondered, following her down a long corridor.

“No silly,” Ryujin smiled, leading Y/N down a staircase and exited the building, making their way to another building.

“This is the Halls of Hades,” Ryujin explained with a huge smile on her face. “This is where all of our classes are held and the dining hall is in here too. But I’ll show you all of that later.”

Y/N silently followed Ryujin, listening to everything she was saying, attempting to absorb all of the information.

“You’re so pretty,” Ryujin announced as they started walking up a staircase located right inside of the lobby.

“Um, thank you,” Y/N sighed, not knowing what to say.

“The boys will love you here,” Ryujin smiled, leading them into an office on the second floor. “Mr. Kim, she’s awake.”

A man was sitting at a desk, looking down at a stack of papers he had laying before him. He removed the glasses from his face, gently laying them onto the desk before looking up at Y/N with a wide smile on his face. “Welcome, Y/N,” Key smiled.

“What’s going on?” Y/N asked.

“Please, take a seat,” Key motioned to the chairs in front of his desk. “Make yourself comfortable.”

“Why am I here?” Y/N asked, while sitting in one of the chairs. “And where is here anyways?”

“That’s an awful lot of questions,” Key continued to smile. “This is Athena Academy, it’s a school for the gifted and we are honored that you finally joined us.”

“The gifted?” Y/N repeated. “But I’m not gifted.”

“Sure you are. Everyone is gifted in some way. Some more than others though,” Key explained.

“How did I get here?” Y/N asked.

“Your parents thought it was a good idea for you to come here to further your education and I had to agree with them,” Key said.

“But I don’t want to be here,” Y/N whined. “I just want to go home.”

“Nobody leaves once they’re here,” Ryujin interrupted. “But don’t worry you’re going to love it. So what is she?”

“What am I?” Y/N asked, confused.

“Yea, like are you a wolf or a witch or a vampire like me?” Ryujin continued.

“She’s human,” Key said, firmly.

“Wolf, witch, vampire…” Y/N whispered. “What’s going on?”

Ryujin glared at Y/N, “you’re not too smart are you?”

“RYUJIN, knock that off,” Key snapped.

She looked down at the ground, sulking, “I'm sorry.”

“Anyways, I know this is a lot to take in, but, you will come to terms with everything and once you do, I’m sure you will fit right in.” Key smiled.

“So just like that,” Y/N shrugged, “I have no say, I live here and go to school here and there is nothing I can do or say that will change that.”

“See I knew you would understand,” Key smiled. “Ryujin will show you around and introduce you to some of our other students.”

“Ok,” Y/N sighed, practically in tears.

“Can we be excused now?” Ryujin asked, still staring down at the ground.

“Yes,” Key said, smiling again. “Oh and Y/N, if you have any issues, my office is always open to you.”

“Ok, thank you,” Y/N said, following Ryujin out of the office.

Once the office doors were fully closed, Ryujin turned to look at Y/N. “So you’re just a human?”

“Yea,” Y/N nodded. “I didn’t know any of the other options were real.”

“Why are you here then?” Ryujin asked. “You’re literally the only human at this school.”

“I wish I had an answer for you but I don’t know,” Y/N sighed.

“I guess we have time to figure that out,” Ryujin smiled. She grabbed Y/N’s arm, pulling her behind her. “Come on, I'll show you around.”

Y/N silently followed Ryujin, amazed by everything that she was seeing. Ryujin led her into what appeared to be a library of some sort that had a bunch of students relaxing on different pieces of furniture.

“Hey guys,” Ryujin said, full of excitement. “This is my new roommate, Y/N.”

“She smells awful,” Sunghoon snarled, not looking up from his phone.

“Hi,” Y/N hesitated, unsure of what else to say to the room full of unwelcoming students.

A boy appeared in front of her, holding a teddy bear with a huge smile on his face, “I’m Sunoo.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” Y/N smiled.

Before Y/N knew what was happening, Sunoo had her wrapped in a warm embrace. “Sunghoon, she doesn’t smell awful,” he announced as he released the girl. “Teddy even likes her smell. He said she smells good enough to eat.”

“Excuse me?” Y/N asked, confused.

Sunoo pushed his teddy bear firmly against Y/N then pulled it back and hit her with it, “what are you?”

“That’s enough,” Jungwon said, appearing next to the boy.

“You’re no fun,” Sunoo pouted, walking away to sit back down on the floor alone with his teddy bear.

Jungwon placed his hand out in front of him, waiting for the new girl to put her hand into his. Y/N stared for a moment then decided to shake his hand. “Welcome to Athena Academy,” Jungwon smiled. “I’m Jungwon.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jungwon,” Y/N smiled. She quickly pulled her hand back, staring at it confused. “Your hand is so cold.”

Heeseung laughed while appearing behind her. “You’re not that smart, are you?”

“I’m smart,” Y/N argued, turning around but not seeing anyone there.

Heeseung appeared behind her again, running his finger over her throat, under her left ear. “Do you know how easy it would be for me to kill you right now?”

“Heeseung!” Jungwon snapped, “Leave the poor human alone.”

Heeseung said nothing as he walked over and sat down next to Niki who was laughing quietly to himself. Y/N looked around, searching the room for her roommate, hoping she would lend her some assistance. But, Ryujin didn’t seem to notice what was going on. She was standing next to Jay while staring at him. She reached her hand out to touch his hair when Jay smacked it away.

“Knock it off,” Jay hissed.

“Let me touch you,” Ryujin ordered, reaching to touch him again.

Jay smacked her hand away again, “Not here,” he snarled.

“Oooooh,” Ryujin smiled. “Do you want to get out of here?”

Jay took a deep breath while rolling his eyes, “that’s not what I meant.”

“Is that your boyfriend?” Y/N asked, innocently.

“Yes.” Ryujin smiled.

“No.” Jay snapped.

“You two are so funny together,” Jake announced, turning around in his chair.

“Fuck you, Jake,” Jay hissed.

“Awww, you look so sexy when you’re angry,” Ryujin smiled while reaching out to touch Jay again only to have her hand smacked away. Ryujin laughed in response.

“Hiding a human in here, huh?” Changmin asked, entering the lounge along with Eric and Juyeon.

“We’re not hiding a human,” Jungwon sighed, sitting back down in his original seat.

“I mean it kind of looks like you are,” Changmin argued.

“I would have chosen a better human but I guess beggars can't be choosy,” Juyeon smirked, looking at Y/N from head to toe.

“Do you hear her heart racing?” Changmin laughed. “She’s scared guys.”

Eric appeared in front of Y/N with eyes as dark as night and fangs exposed, “You’re making this too much fun,” he said.

Eric bit down on her neck causing Y/N to scream out in fear, “help me, please,” she begged.

Eric smiled as he continued to drink. He got more joy when his victims pleaded and begged for their lives. Nothing was going to stop him from taking what he wanted.

Eric released the innocent girl, falling to the floor, smoke pouring out of his mouth. “What the fuck,” he screamed.

Changmin laughed as he watched his friend suffer.

“What’s happening,” Ryujin asked, confused.

Eric ran out of the room in the blink of an eye.

“What just happened?” Jake asked.

Everyone looked at Y/N, shocked.

“What are you?” Jungwon gasped.

“I feel a great power,” Taehyun said, walking into the sanctuary.

“A great power?” Kai asked, not looking away from the tarantula that he was holding.

“We need to find where this power is coming from,” Taehyun declared.

“I’m busy,” Soobin growled, looking at his hand smiling as a flame ignited in his palm.

“This is serious,” Taeyhyun snapped. “This level of power is something we cannot ignore.”

Yeonjun stood up, walking towards the door with a smile on his face, “I think I’d like to tame the power,” he laughed, turning back around to make sure the others were following.

“Fuck that,” Beomgyu huffed, sending a book across the room, hitting Kai in the head.

“What was that for?” Kai whined rubbing his head with the hand that wasn’t holding the tarantula.

“I hate your face,” Beomgyu sighed.

Soobin smirked, “do it again.”

Yeonjun nodded and picked up a book, throwing it as hard as he could at Kai.

Kai managed to duck out of the way of the book, smiling with a creepy look on his face. “Alright Clio, it’s time…”

“Knock it the hell off,” Taeyhyun yelled, standing up. “A power like this could bring the end to all of us and you guys are just fooling around.”

“Sorry dad,” Soobin growled, rolling his eyes.

Taehyun took a deep breath, attempting to calm his nerves. “We’re all going to go and investigate and I don’t want to hear any more bitching about it.”

All the boys groaned but ultimately followed their leader out of the sanctuary.

 - .2 - -

Eric disappeared out of the library leaving a mass of confusion behind, passing Taehyun as he made his exit.

“What just happened?” Jake asked.

Everyone turned to look at Y/N. “What are you?” Jungwon asked.

Y/N grabbed her neck, then looked at her hand seeing blood, tears started to well up in her eyes.

“She’s human,” Taehyun interjected.

“No,” Jake argued. “Her blood seemed to burn Eric when he tried to feed on her.”

“I’m telling you,” Taehyun started. “There’s nothing special about her.”

Kai walked over to Y/N, staring with a creepy smile on his face. He lightly petted her shoulder as he lifted his hand up to her face. When he opened his hand, his tarantula crawled down his arm and stopped in his hand.

“OH MY GOD,” Y/N screamed, attempting to back away from the spider.

“Say hello to Clio,” Kai smirked, “she would like to be friends…”

“Um um um,” Y/N started to panic. “I don’t like spiders.”

“That’s funny,” Kai smiled, “because spiders don’t like you either.”

He lifted his hand, tossing the spider in her direction. Y/N started flailing her arms around, attempting to get the spider off of her, not knowing if it actually landed on her body.

In the midst of panic she felt two hands grab her shoulders, forcing her to stop the flailing. Y/N looked up and saw Yeonjun staring into her eyes, without saying anything. He stared, emotionless, slowly moving closer to her face.

“What are you doing?” Y/N asked.

“Shut up,” Soobin barked from across the room, smiling at his hand that had a small flame in it.

Y/N attempted to pull away but was forced to stay. She felt like something was holding her there from behind, almost as though there were hands on her back forcing her not to move. She could hear breathing coming from behind her but wasn’t able to turn to see who was there. Yeonjun  continued to stare without saying a word for what felt like an eternity before releasing her shoulders. He turned to look at Taehyun and shrugged with a confused look on his face.

After Yeonjun released her shoulders, Y/N still wasn’t able to move. She searched the room with her eyes, praying for assistance but knowing no help was coming. Beomgyu let out a long sigh, as he walked by her. “She’s useless,” he snarled.

Y/N turned to look at where the voice was coming from, surprised she was now able to move. “What did you just do to me?” she asked.

“She’s pretty fucking stupid,” Beomgyu said letting out a deep chuckle. “I’m bored with this.”

“Me too,” Yeonjun smiled, following Beomgyu out of the room.

Y/N turned to look for Ryujin, seeing that her ‘friend’ was too preoccupied to be bothered. Ryujin was now sitting on the floor next to the chair where Jay was seated. She was inching closer to him as he tried to ignore her existence. Ryujin suddenly turned, facing him, placing her hands onto his knees, kneeling before him.

“Come on baby,” Ryujin smiled. “Kiss me.”

“Go away, Ryujin,” Jay snarled. “I’m not in the mood for you today.”

“I can’t help myself,” she whispered. “You’re just too perfect and I can’t believe you’re all mine.”

Jay took a deep breath out of annoyance, “How many fucking times do I have to tell you…I am not yours. Damnit.”

“But we’re in love,” Ryujin argued.

“Jesus fucking christ,” he snarled, grabbing her head and snapping her neck, smirking as her body dropped to the floor. “She’s so much easier to deal with like this.”

“Oh my god, you killed her,” Y/N gasped.

Jungwon appeared in front of Y/N, attempting to block her view of the ‘love birds’. “Since your roommate is gonna take a little nap, how about I finish your little tour,” Jungwon suggested.

“But but but,” Y/N started.

Before she could finish her sentence, she felt someone tap her shoulder, she turned around seeing no one there. She turned back to face Jungwon when she felt someone tap her shoulder again, making her turn around again, with the same results.

“I think we should figure out if her blood has the same effect on me,” Heeseung suggested, appearing in front of Y/N.

“Heeseung no,” Jungwon snarled.

“If it does, I’ll just kill her so then we wouldn’t have to worry about it,” Heeseung laughed, touching her neck where Eric previously bit her.

“Please don’t hurt me,” Y/N whispered, fearful of her life.

“What the fuck,” Heeseung snarled, grabbing her neck and pulling her closer to his face. “Where the fuck is the bite mark?”

“Please don’t do this,” Y/N pleaded.

“Shut the fuck up,” Heeseung ordered. He then turned to Jungwon still holding Y/N by the throat. “Eric’s bite mark is gone.”

“How is that possible?” Jungwon asked.

Changmin grabbed Y/N’s arm, while Heeseung and Jungwon were distracted looking at her neck. He silently bit her wrist, drawing blood out into his mouth, having the same effect that Eric had. Changmin pulled back, releasing her arm. He started laughing maniacally as smoke poured out from his mouth.

Heeseung released Y/N’s throat and grabbed Changmin by his throat, “what the fuck did you do?”

Changmin moved his hand, with blood dripping down his chin, he blew smoke into Heeseung’s face, “I was hungry.”

Heeseung picked Changmin up and threw him across the room, “I will kill you.”

“HEESEUNG,” Jungwon yelled. “GO TO YOUR ROOM!”

“What the fuck did I do?” Heeseung asked.

“NOW!!!” Jungwon snarled.

Heeseung didn’t argue, he stormed out of the room without any hesitation. Jungwon turned back to Y/N, placing a hand on her back, “are you ok?” he asked.

“Not really,” she whimpered, as tears started welling up in her eyes.

Jungwon looked down at her wrist and noticed the wounds from Changmin had already disappeared as well. “Come on,” Jungwon said, beginning to lead her out of the library. “I’ll show you around.”

“I think I’d like to just go back to my room for now,” Y/N said.

“I can take you there,” Jungwon smiled. “I’ll make sure you’re safe.”

“Thank you,” she said, forcing a smile.

Jungwon placed an arm around her shoulder, “I’ll be your personal bodyguard. You can trust me.”

Jungwon led Y/N out of the library and down the hall, still guiding her with his arm around her shoulder.

“I don’t understand what’s going on,” Y/N pouted, looking down at her feet.

“What do you mean?” Jungwon asked, lightly caressing her upper arm.

“This all seems so unreal,” Y/N continued, “I thought vampires were only something that were in movies but apparently they’re real.”

“Yes, vampires are definitely real,” Jungwon nodded with a half smile on his face.

“Those were vampires in that room,” Y/N stated as she stopped walking. “And those other guys that came in the room. Were they vampires too?”

“Which guys?” Jungwon asked.

“ALL THE GUYS,” Y/N panicked. “I think I have a right to know what I’m dealing with.”

“You certainly do,” Jungwon nodded. “The first three guys that came in after you and Ryujin entered were also vampires but the other group are witches.”

“Witches?” Y/N repeated, placing her hand on her head in disbelief.

“I know it’s a lot,” Jungwon sighed, “but you’ll get used to things.” He attempted to wrap his arm around her shoulder again only to be pushed away.

“Wait,” Y/N snapped. “So what are you?”

“Honey,” Jungwon smiled, taking a deep breath. “Let’s not worry about that.”

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?” Y/N yelled.

“Oh honey, I’m a vampire,” Jungwon smiled. “But you don’t have to worry about me, I’m the good kind.”

“What do you mean the good kind?” she wondered.

“I’m the leader of my group. They are my responsibility and I keep them all in line,” Jungwon explained.

“Can you please show me back to my room?” Y/N asked, ignoring his explanation.

“How about we stop and get something to eat first and then I’ll take you back to your room,” Jungwon suggested. “You have to be hungry by now.”

“Something to eat?” Y/N asked.

“Yeah, you know, like food,” Jungwon laughed.

“As long as I’m not on the menu,” she said.

Jungwon smiled ear to ear while wrapping his arm around Y/N’s shoulder again. “You’re a funny one,” he laughed.

Jungwon led Y/N into the dining hall which was packed with students. He took her over to an empty table motioning for her to take a seat. “Sit here,” Jungwon ordered. “I’ll go get you something to eat.”

“Ok thank you,” Y/N said, watching Jungwon turn and walk away. She sat silently looking around at all the other students, wondering what kinds of creatures she was in such close vicinity with.

“Hey there,” Chan said, walking over to where Y/N was sitting alone. “Are you new?”

“Yes,” Y/N whispered, fearful of how this man was going to be since her previous interactions with other students weren’t so positive.

“Wonderful,” Chan smiled, sitting down in the empty seat across from Y/N. “I’m Chan and this is Minho.”

“It’s nice to meet both of you,” Y/N said, forcing a smile. “I’m Kwon Y/N.”

“No no,” Chan challenged, placing his hand out waiting for Y/N to put her hand in his.

She smiled and lightly put her hand inside the giant one in front of her, watching as Chan brought her delicate extension to his face, sending shivers through her body as he touched the skin with his lips.

“The pleasure is all mine,” Chan boasted, releasing her hand. He nudged his friend who grunted in response.

“Did I see you come in here with Jungwon?” Chan wondered.

“Yea, he’s getting me something to eat,” Y/N said.

“So you’re WITH him and his friends?” Chan asked.

“What do you mean?” Y/N wondered. “I’m just getting lunch with him before he takes me back to my room.”

“Getting lunch,” Minho laughed to himself. “I know what he’ll be eating.”

“Excuse me?” Y/N snapped.

“What?” Minho said, clearly annoyed.

A young boy slowly walked up to the table, showing a mix of emotions. He started off smiling, then the smile dropped from his face, a look of anger quickly replacing the smile. Then in a blink of an eye the smile would return. This happened until he reached the table.

“Jeongin, my good boy,” Chan smiled. “Meet Kwon Y/N. She’s a new student.”

Jeongin didn’t say anything as he bent down and smelled Y/N’s hair. He slowly reached down, grabbing her face and turning her head to look away from Chan. The boy stuck his tongue out, licking her from the chin to her eye.

“Jeongin knock that off now,” Chan growled.

The boy listened and put his tongue back inside his mouth while continuing to stare at Y/N, he started barking then smiled widely afterwards.

“I don’t like her,” Jeongin announced before he walked away from the table.

“I see you met Y/N,” Jungwon said, walking up to where she was sitting with Chan and Minho.

“Jungwon,” Y/N gasped, “what took you so long?”

“I’m sorry darling,” Jungwon smiled, placing a tray of food in front of her. “The line was ridiculous.”

“So what is this little arrangement you two have?” Chan asked.

“Arrangement?” Y/N repeated.

“Yea why do you get to drag your own personal bloodbag around with you,” Minho grunted.

“I am not his personal bloodbag,” Y/N snapped before taking a bite of her food.

“I apologize.” Chan said. “Minho didn’t mean it the way he said it. Sometimes he can come across as extremely rude.”

“If a human is with a vampire then,” Minho started.

“She’s Ryujin’s new roommate,” Jungwon interrupted.

“So why isn’t she showing her around?” Minho huffed.

“Ryujin got ki…” Y/N started.

“Ryujin got a little carried away with Jay and she’s taking a nap right now,” Jungwon explained.

“Oooooh,” Chan nodded. “Is that blood on your shirt?”

Y/N looked down at her blouse and nodded. “Yes,” she whispered.

“I knew you were his blood bag,” Minho laughed.

“Jungwon didn’t do this,” Y/N snapped. “He wouldn’t hurt me. Jungwon is a good kind of vampire.”

Chan smiled at Jungwon, “a good kind of vampire?”

“Yea I’m the good kind,” Jungwon nodded. “You know you have the crazy kind and then the good kind.”

Minho burst out into laughter, “this is just rich. You must be the stupidest person I have ever met and I know Seungmin.”

“What does that even mean?” Y/N asked.

“Don't let him fool you, Jungwon is not what you think he is,” Minho huffed, before walking away from the table.

The sun went down bringing darkness into the world. The moon was almost at its highest peak, it was almost at a full moon but still considered waning. Taehyun frantically wandered around the empty forest, searching for something unknown. No one was with him and no one was in sight. He wasn’t sure how he got into the forest or why he was there but he knew he was on a mission. He continued walking, coming upon a lone tent. The tent felt inviting, he could feel a force inside that he previously knew. He took a deep breath and ventured inside. A man wearing a black cloak was

seated at a table in front of a crystal ball inside the tent. It was at that moment Taehyun knew that he had been summoned by his ancestors and he knew the reason had something to do with the source of power he felt earlier in the day. He took a seat across from the man and waited for his message. The man moved his hand, making a circle on top of the crystal ball, chanting latin until his head flew back as though he was in a trance. Taehyun gazed into the ball seeing the images of the school exploding leaving bodies of his fellow students behind. He saw everyone he knew laying on the ground bleeding out from different spots. He even thought he saw the body of himself impaled on the gate of the academy. Taehyun continued watching and the doors of one of the buildings that remained flew open and someone was walking out. He couldn’t make out who the person was or if it was even male or female but it was definitely the person who caused all this misery and chaos. Just then the images stopped and the man’s head went upright once more. Taehyun stared at the man for a moment before speaking.

“Thank you for showing me this,” he said, “who and what is the cause?”

The man’s hand slowly raised, pointing his index finger at the boy sitting before him as his head set on fire. Taehyun gasped, grabbing his chest, sitting up in bed.  He took a few deep breaths, looking around trying to gain his bearings.

“Would you go back to sleep?” Yeonjun whined, throwing a pillow at Taehyun. “You’re really noisy tonight.”

“I was summoned,” Taehyun explained.

“Can’t it wait till the morning,” Yeonjun asked. “I’m really tired.”

“I don’t know what to do with you sometimes,” Taehyun sighed, laying back down.

 - .4 - -

Y/N didn’t sleep all that well that night. She had so many things running through her mind. Why would her parents send her to a place like this is the biggest thought that she couldn’t quite get over.  She felt like she was a good daughter. She got good grades in school, never got in any trouble, and got along wonderfully with her parents. Things just didn’t make sense, but unfortunately dwelling on the topic wasn’t going to change anything.

“Wake up, little bitch,” Soyeon said, standing over Y/N while she slept.

Y/N rolled over, nearly jumping out of her skin when she saw the strange woman standing next to her bed.

“Who the hell are you?” Y/N snapped.

“I’m your worst nightmare,” Soyeon responded as she popped a lollipop into her mouth.

“That’s not telling me anything,” Y/N argued.

“Don’t let her scare you,” Ryujin interrupted. “She looks scarier than she actually is.”

Y/N turned to look at Ryujin when she heard her voice, instantly bringing back the feelings of fear and uncertainty she felt the day before.

“You’re alive?” Y/N gasped. “How is that possible? I saw that Jay break your neck and you died.”

“I know,” Ryujin smiled, “he’s just so fucking sweet.”

“What do you mean he is sweet?” Y/N asked. “He tried to kill you.”

“Oh no my baby JayJay would never actually do anything to hurt me for real,” Ryujin smiled. “It’s just our own little way of foreplay.”

Soyeon laughed, “wasn’t Jay the one that turned you?”

“Yea…and what’s your point?” Ryujin asked, annoyed.

“If he turned you then that means he did kill you, like for real,” Soyeon stated.

“Only so we could spend eternity together,” Ryujin argued.

Soyeon rolled her eyes in disbelief, “you’re pathetic.”

Y/N silently listened as the girls continued to argue about Ryujin and Jay’s love until she couldn’t keep her questions to herself any longer.

“Are you in here for me?” Y/N asked.

“Yea get dressed,” Soyeon ordered, crossing her arms while staring coldly at Y/N still sitting in bed.

“Get dressed for what?” Y/N wondered.

“What the fuck does it matter?” Soyeon snapped. “I said get dressed now fucking get dressed.”

“Ok ok,” Y/N agreed, getting up out of bed. After standing up she bent over and made her bed and strategically placed her two stuffed bears that she had with her on top of her bed.

“Hurry the fuck up,” Soyeon growled.

Y/N grabbed some clothing from the closet and went into the bathroom to get dressed, returning once her hair and makeup looked pristine.

“Didn’t I say hurry the fuck up?” Soyeon snapped.

“I did hurry,” Y/N pouted. “I got ready as fast as I could.”

Soyeon rolled her eyes as she walked out of the room. She started down the hallway, realizing y/n wasn’t following her.

“Come on,” Soyeon yelled.

Y/N ran out of the room to catch up to Soyeon. “You didn’t say I was supposed to come with you,” she announced.

“Yes I fucking did,” Soyeon argued.

“Let's just agree to disagree on that one,” Y/N smiled. “So anyways what’s your name?”

“Don’t worry about it,” Soyeon grunted.

“I need to know what I should call you,” Y/N argued.

“Just refer to me as the Queen,” Soyeon ordered.

Y/N’s face lit up, “I just love nicknames. If I call you Queen, what are you gonna call me?”

“Little bitch,” Soyeon growled.

“I don’t think that is an appropriate name,” Y/N sighed.

“Yea but it’s fitting for you, little bitch,” Soyeon laughed.

Y/N realized she wasn’t going to win this argument so she followed Soyeon in silence. She led Y/N into a new room. A room that she hadn’t been in before. There were a bunch of guys already sitting in the room. Once the two girls were fully inside the door closed from behind them.

Y/N turned around to see a man standing behind the door, holding a bat.

“Hi Hannie,” Soyeon smiled.

“Are you ready to have some fun?” Han smirked, hitting his hand with the bat.

“Are you ready to have some fun?” Han smirked, hitting his hand with the bat.

“Um, are we playing baseball?” Y/N wondered, trying to remain calm.

“Well if baseball involves me hitting you with a bat then yes we’re playing baseball,” Han laughed.

Changbin walked around the corner carrying a rope.

“If you play nice and do as you're told, you might make it out of this alive,” Changbin smiled.

“I don’t know,” Jeongin laughed, walking into the room carrying a knife with dried blood on the blade. “I kind of want to see what your insides look like.”

“Who are you people?”  Y/N asked.

“You were right, Minho, she really is stupid,” changbin smirked.

“Yea I told you, this bitch makes Seungmin well… nothing could really make him look smart either,” Minho laughed to himself.

“Heyyyy,” Seungmin pouted. “Is it because I’m too smart already?”

“You’re such an idiot,” Minho stated, coldly.

“My mom says I’m the smartest boy alive, I just make dumb decisions,” Seungmin explained.

“Well you’re mom is an idiot too then,” Minho laughed.

“Don’t talk about my mom,” Seungmin snapped, standing up, instantly regretting his decisions.

“And what the fuck are you going to do to stop me?” Minho snarled.

“Nothing sir,” Seungmin sighed, sitting back down.

“Enough with the games,” Soyeon huffed. “What are we going to do with the little bitch?”

“Yea what are you planning on doing with me?” Y/N interrupted.

Han walked over to where Y/N was standing, he raised his hand up, lightly caressing her cheek, “you seem a little frightened.”

“This isn’t the most ideal situation,” Y/N nodded, too scared to move.

“Let’s agree to disagree on that,” Soyeon smirked, using Y/N’s prior argument against her.

“We need some answers,” Changbin interjected.

“What kind of answers?” Y/N wondered.

“Who are you and why are you here?” Minho huffed.

“I’m Kwon Y/N but that’s really all I have,” she announced, hoping that would be enough to be released.

“You only answered a portion of the question,” Changbin snarled.

“WHY ARE YOU FUCKING HERE?” Han yelled, swinging the bat at Y/N’s head, stopping when it was an inch away from her face.  He broke out into a maniacal laugh.

Y/N panicked, she could feel her body getting warm, she knew this feeling and hated when it happened, but had no control. All the candles around the room, instantly ignited.

“Did she do that?” Seungmin gasped.

“Impossible,” Changbin argued, “she’s human.”

Han rested the bat on his shoulder, cocking his head while examining the scared girl in front of him. Jeongin pushed through, standing between the two, the huge smile immediately dropped from his face as he clenched both of his hands around Y/N’s neck, applying just enough pressure to let her know he meant business.

“How did you do that?” Jeongin snarled, as a creepy smile slowly crept back onto his face.

“Please don’t hurt me,” Y/N pleaded.

Jeongin squeezed a bit tighter, dropping his smile again, “I think we’re past the point of you getting out of here unharmed.”

The flames on the candles grew to three inch flames, the sounds of the crackling fire overtook the silence in the room when the door flew open, exposing Chan in the doorway.

“What the fuck is going on in here?” Chan snapped.

Jeongin released Y/N’s neck, spinning around, pretending as though he wasn’t doing anything sinister.

“Chan,” Jeongin smiled. “I’m so glad you could join us.”

The flames of the candles dissipated as quickly as they ignited. Y/N placed her hand on her neck, breathing heavily as tears slowly escaped her eyes. She quickly ran out of the room not waiting for any explanation, nothing was going to explain this situation away and make it ok, she just knew she needed to get out of there as quickly as possible before more harm could come to her.

“What the fuck was going on?” Chan growled again.

“We were just playing a little game with the new girl,” Jeongin said with a huge smile on his face that immediately turned into a scowl as he cocked his head to look at Chan.

“It doesn’t seem like it was a friendly game,” Chan argued.

“She was having a lot of fun,” Changbin announced. “I was just getting ready to tie her up.”

“What was the purpose of this?” Chan asked.

“Don’t you want to know why a human is in our school?” Minho asked.

“Of course I do,” Chan nodded, “But this isn’t the right way to figure that out.”

“What would you have recommended?” Han laughed, swinging his bat around in little circles in front of him.

“I'm planning on finding the answers out,” Chan announced. “I think Jungwon has the right idea. We should become her friends then we’ll be able to figure everything we need out in due time.”

“Eh that sounds boring,” Minho grunted. “I don’t want to be friends with her or even pretend like I do.”

“I’ll be her friend,” Felix smiled, walking into the room. “I like making new friends.”

“Yea yea,” Changbin rolled his eyes. “Of course you would offer.”

“Felix, you’re the worst one of us,” Seungmin stated.

“No,” Felix argued. “I’m the nicest.” He smiled so wide, appearing so sweet and genuine making everyone shiver.

“Look,” Han interrupted, “Our way got more answers a lot quicker than your ‘perfect plan’ could ever.”

“What do you mean you got answers?” Chan asked.

“Somehow she lit all the candles with her mind when she got scared,” Changbin explained.

“How?” Chan askes. “She’s human.”

“Yea that’s what I was working on finding out,” Jeongin huffed, taking a seat next to Seungmin. “Before you had to break up the party.”

“I’m only going to say this once,” Chan snarled. “There will be no harm to come to that girl. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!?”

“But…” Han started.

“DO. YOU. UNDERSTAND. ME.????” Chan repeated, slamming his fist against the wall, punching a hole through the surface.

“Yes sir,” Han sighed.

Y/N ran down the hall, in a panic, scared and trembling. She ran as fast as she could trying to get as far away from those guys as possible. When she turned the corner she bumped into someone she thought she recognized but wasn’t sure from where.

“I’m so sorry,” Y/N said after bouncing off the man standing before her.

“You should watch where you’re going,” Niki stated, coldly.

“I said I was sorry,” Y/N said as tears continued to stream down her cheeks.

“You don’t have to cry over it. I’m not that mad,” Niki said.

“I’m not crying over this,” Y/N argued. “I just…I just…nevermind.”

“What?” Niki wondered.

“I need to find Jungwon,” she stated.

“What a coincidence,” Niki smiled kindly, placing his arm around Y/N’s shoulder. “I was just coming to look for you to take you to Jungwon.”

“Really?” Y/N asked, looking up at Niki with wide eyes.

“Yea,” Niki smiled, wiping her tears away that were staining the once rosy cheeks. “He wants me to take you to him.”

“That would be wonderful,” Y/N forced a smile in return.

“Just come with me,” he smirked, guiding Y/N down the hall.

Niki continued to guide Y/N down the hall towards another part of the building. He led her into a portion of the main hall that she was never in before.

“Is this where Jungwon hangs out?” Y/N wondered, following the stranger aimlessly.

“This is where he’s hanging today,” Niki smiled.

“Who’s your little pet?” a male’s voice sounded out from the shadows.

“Don’t worry about it,” Niki snarled.

“Who’s that?” Y/N wondered.

The most handsome man Y/N has ever seen in person suddenly appeared out from the shadows.

“Mmmm,” Hyunjin smirked. “I see you like to eat alone.”

“Eat?” Y/N huffed. “That’s just gross.”

Hyunjin raised an eyebrow in disbelief, “that’s why he’s taking you in there, my dear.”

“No he’s taking me to see Jungwon,” Y/N argued.

Hyunjin laughed, “that’s even worse.”

He snapped his fingers and two girls appeared behind him from the shadows, following him down the long hallway in the direction Niki and Y/N were coming from.

“Who was that?” Y/N whispered.

“Why did you like him too?” Niki huffed.

“No not really,” Y/N shook her head. “He kind of seems like an ass.”

“That’s putting it nicely,” Niki stated.

“What did he mean Jungwon is even worse?” Y/N asked.

“I don’t know,” Niki smiled. “Those wolves just like to stir the pot. They’re not honest like us vampires.”

“HE was a werewolf?” Y/N gasped.

“Of course he was,” Niki said, scrunching his nose. “Couldn’t you tell?”

“No,” Y/N said. “How can you tell?”

“You smell them,” Niki huffed. “Don’t you know anything?”

“I’m sorry this is all new to me,” Y/N pouted. “A few days ago I didn’t even know vampires, witches, and werewolves were real.”

“You really should be sorry,” Niki stated. “Your parents would be so ashamed of you.”

“Why my parents?” Y/N asked.

“Enough,” Niki snapped. “Just stop talking for now.”

Niki stopped in front of a door, grabbing the door knob and slowly turning it, opening the door. He pushed Y/N inside, following behind and slamming the door shut behind them.

“I got her here, Heeseung,” Niki said, proudly.

Y/N saw a man, she assumed was Heeseung sitting in a chair facing away from them. Her body started trembling once again. The thought of being alone with Heeseung scared her more than being in the room with those crazy werewolves. When she looked into Heeseung’s eyes during their first interactions she could only see darkness. There was no other way to put it other than Heeseung absolutely terrified her.  She could feel her face getting hot again and she knew the feelings were coming that she wouldn’t be able to control. A fire ignited in the corner of the room, where a huge candle was sitting.

The man in the chair slowly turned around.

“Jungwon,” Y/N happily called out, dissipating the flame from the candle. “I can’t tell you how relieved I am to see you.”

Jungwon’s eyes were as black as night, his fangs were exposed, and he looked like a demon in human form. Y/N was ashamed of herself that she found herself slightly turned on by the hint of danger she might be in.

Niki started breathing slightly heavier, “Jungwon, what’s wrong?” he asked.

“What were you and Heeseung planning on doing?” he snarled, standing up from the chair and slowly taking steps closer to Niki and Y/N.

“We just wanted to hang out with her,” Niki said, scrambling for words. “You know, get to know her a little better.”

Y/N looked around the room, seeing Heeseung laying on the ground behind the chair where Jungwon was previously sitting. He appeared to be dead, he wasn’t breathing or moving.

“Oh my god,” Y/N gasped. “Did you kill him?”

Jungwon ignored her questions, slowly moving closer to where Niki and Y/N were still standing. She suddenly felt two hands grab her head.

“I will snap her fucking neck,” Niki snarled. “Don’t come any closer.”

“Please don’t do this,” Y/N pleaded, now scared for her life.

“If you do, I’ll rip your heart out for real,” Jungwon whispered, in almost a seductive and inviting voice.

“STOP THIS!” Y/N screamed. “JUST STOP THIS ALL NOW!”

A high pitch noise sounded out, appearing to be radiating out of Y/N. The noise was so deafening it was almost debilitating. Both Jungwon and Niki fell to the floor grasping at their ears.

Y/N ran over to Jungwon, kneeling down alongside him. The high pitch noise stopped almost as quickly as it started.

“Are you ok?” Y/N asked, placing her hand onto Jungwon’s back.

Jungwon pushed her away as he appeared next to where Niki was laying. He picked the boy up off the ground, holding him in front of himself.

“NEVER DISOBEY ME AGAIN,” Jungwon snarled. “Next time I will kill you for real.”

He snapped Niki’s neck, dropping his body onto the floor. He raised his eyes to make eye contact with the trembling girl on the floor.

Smiling, he said, “I’m sorry about all of this.”

“I don’t understand, Jungwon,” Y/N said. She could feel tears starting to well up in her eyes but she tried to hold them back. Crying all of the time is starting to get tiring and she made up her mind that it’s time that she starts being strong.

“How did you do that?” Jungwon asked.

“How did I do what?” Y/N wondered, oblivious of what she actually did to them.

“When you yelled, you started radiating a high pitch noise,” Jungwon explained. “That’s what made Niki and I fall to the ground.”

“I don’t know what I did,” Y/N stated, confused. “Are they both dead?”

“No,” Jungwon said, inching closer to Y/N. “Think of it like they’re taking time outs. They were bad and needed to be punished but they’ll be good as new in no time at all.”

Jungwon reached his hand out for Y/N to grab, “Come with me, I want to show you somewhere special to me,” he smiled.

Y/N placed her hand inside of his and followed behind Jungwon as he led her throughout the building. He took her onto the roof which had plants everywhere. It looked like a garden that belonged in a fairytale.

“This is beautiful,” Y/N gasped.

“Not as beautiful as you,” Jungwon smiled, trying to really lay on the charm.

Y/N grew a little embarrassed and she could feel her cheeks getting hot, she knew she must be blushing.

“Stop that,” Y/N whispered, shyly.

Jungwon turned to look Y/N in the eyes, “stop what?” he asked. “Saying that you’re beautiful?”

“Yea,” Y/N sighed, looking down at her feet.

Jungwon grabbed her chin with his hand, forcing her to make eye contact with him again, “I’m only speaking from the heart.”

Y/N tried to not blush anymore but she knew it was an unstoppable event, her cheeks grew as red as can be and a smile slowly crept on her face.

“Why are you being so nice to me?” she asked.

“What kind of question is that?” Jungwon wondered.

“No one else in this school seems to like me and yet you're so nice to me,” she continued. “I mean I appreciate it, but I just want to know why.”

“I think I might like you a little,” Jungwon smirked, leaning in and pressing his lips firmly against hers.

Y/N pulled away, shocked, “why did you do that?”

“I told you,” Jungwon smiled. “I think I like you. Don’t you like me too?”

Y/N stared for a few seconds before responding, “I think I do.”

“So then what’s the problem,” Jungwon said, leaning in and kissing her once more.

When Jungwon’s lips touched hers, she didn’t get the feelings of butterflies or the electricity running through her body. She didn’t get any feelings to be honest. She liked the kiss and she liked him and how nice he was to her but for some reason things didn’t feel right.

She felt Jungwon’s hand sliding down her back towards her ass which only made her feel more nervous. She knew she wasn’t ready for where things seemed to be going. Y/N pushed Jungwon back, “I’m not ready for all of this,” she confessed.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” Jungwon snapped.

“Excuse me?” Y/N said.

“Everything I have done for you and this is how you repay me,” Jungwon snarled. “I guess all humans are the fucking same.”

“Jungwon you’re starting to scare me,” Y/N whispered, slowly backing up from him.

“Oh no we wouldn’t want that, now would we,” Jungwon growled as his eyes turned black again. “We wouldn’t want to upset the little princess.”

“Jungwon please,” Y/N begged, closing her eyes.

Jungwon felt himself losing control. He didn’t know why he was acting like this, it wasn’t like him. But why didn’t she want him? He thought he did everything right. He thought he was the perfect gentleman for her and yet it didn’t seem to be enough. He felt the rage overtaking his body, rage from feelings of desperation and rejection. Did he actually like this human? No he couldn’t. Vampires don’t actually have feelings for humans. That’s impossible.

Y/N kept her eyes closed as tight as possible waiting for a response from Jungwon. After not hearing anything or feeling anything she slowly opened her eyes again, fearful of what might be waiting for her. But she was all alone. Jungwon left and it was just her there alone in the beautiful fairytale garden.

“I think it’s time we had a little chat,” Taehyun said walking up to Y/N.

“We’re in the middle of something,” Felix snarled.

Y/N didn’t take her eyes off of Jungwon and Yeji, the thunder continued crashing and lightning started to streak through the sky.

Taehyun looked up through the skylight, seeing the weather conditions were worsening then gazed back down at Y/N still deep in her trance.

“I said leave,” Felix growled. “The party is just getting started.”

“Shut the fuck up little wolf,” Taehyun snarled. “This could get extremely dangerous.”

He quickly took a seat next to Y/N, placing his hands on top of hers.

“Y/N, I need you to look at me,” Taehyun whispered.

Y/N ignored the boy sitting next to her for only a moment before exhaling deeply. And just like that the inclement weather stopped. There was no more thunder and lightning, the skies were blue and calm once again.

“What just happened?” Y/N asked.

“You need to come with me,” Taehyun ordered.

“No, she needs to stay with me,” Felix interrupted.

“Come on,” Taehyun said, standing up. He placed his hand out for Y/N to grab. “We’ll figure things out together.”

“God damn it,” Felix yelled, punching his fist onto the table. “I will fucking kill you.”

Y/N turned to look at Felix, cocking her head, “why is it so important to you for me to stay?”

“I like you and I like not being alone,” Felix pouted.

“I’m really sorry Felix, I think I have to go with him. Something is going on with me and I need to figure out what is happening,” Y/N started. “But I promise I'll be back.”

“Do you want me to kill Jungwon for you?” Felix offered with a smile on his face.

“Do I want you to do what?” Y/N asked.

“Oh I’m just playing,” Felix laughed. “But seriously just say the word and I’ll cut his fucking heart out for you.”

“No no, i wouldn’t want you to do anything like that for me,” Y/N said.

“Ok fine,” Felix sighed. “Hurry up and get better and come back. Oh and fix her eyes too.”

“What’s wrong with my eyes?” Y/N wondered.

“Nevermind forget i said anything,” Felix said, looking around the room. He noticed Jungwon was now staring in their direction. Felix winked and blew a kiss towards Jungwon trying to add insult to injury.

Y/N followed Taehyun out of the dining hall. He led her through the academy and into an outside area.

“This is beautiful,” Y/N gasped, looking around with wide eyes.

“These are sacred grounds,” Taehyun explained. “Only the pure hearted can enter.”

“How is she here?” Yeonjun asked, looking up from a book he was sketching in.

“What do you mean?” Y/N asked.

“You’re clearly something that's not pure,” Yeonjun stated. “You shouldn’t be in here.”

“I’m not pure?” Y/N repeated, starting to panic.

“We’re just trying to figure things out,” Taehyun said.

“This is just too weird,” Y/N stated. “I think I should go.”

“No,” Beomgyu snarled. He glared at Y/N intensely, forcing Y/N’s body to slide on the ground over to the center of a circle formed with rocks and crystals. “Stand there and shut up.”

“What are you going to do to me?” Y/N asked.

“Don’t worry we’re not going to hurt you,” Taehyun said.

The wind started to pick up while dark clouds formulated in the sky.

“I’m sorry if I don’t necessarily believe you,” Y/N sighed.

Taehyun looked up at the sky as thunder started clashing.

“How are you doing that?” Taehyun asked.

“I don’t know,” y/n said

“Do you feel anything, tae?” Kai asked.

“No, I feel nothing,” Taehyun announced. “This doesn’t make any sense.”

“You know what you’re gonna have to do,” Soobin interjected

“I’m not ready to go there yet,” Taehyun stated.

“What aren’t you ready to do?” Y/n asked as the thunder started getting heavier.

“Shut the fuck up,” Beomgyu growled. “Or I will shut you up.”

“You need to calm the hell down,” Taehyun snapped.

Y/n tried walking out of the circle but couldn’t. There seemed to be an invisible cage keeping her locked in.

“What the hell is happening,” y/n screamed as bolts of electricity lit up the sky.

Yeonjun took a step inside of the circle.

“Be careful,” kai said.

“I’m fine asshole,” Yeonjun snarled, taking a step towards y/n.

“What are you going to do to me?” Y/n panicked.

Yeonjun put his hands in the air, “I’m not going to do anything to you. I’m gonna try to help you.”

“How can you help me?” Y/n asked.

“You need to trust me,” Yeonjun smiled.

“How can I trust you?” Y/n asked. “I don’t even know you.”

“I’m Yeonjun,” he smiled. “Now you know me.”

“That’s not helping,” y/n gasped.

“Just look me in the eyes and breathe with me,” Yeonjun ordered.

Y/n gazed into Yeonjun’s eyes and took a deep breath.

“This isn’t doing anything,” y/n announced.

“Just keep breathing,” Yeonjun said, placing his hands on y/n’s shoulders holding her still in front of him. “In… and out… good.”

After a few deep breaths the dark clouds slowly disappeared and the thunder stopped.

“Do you feel any better?” Yeonjun asked.

“I do actually,” y/n sighed. “Thank you.”

“Can you see anything?” Taehyun asked Yeonjun.

“Just stand still for a minute and look into my eyes,'' Yeonjun ordered. He gazed deeply into her eyes for a few seconds before breaking the gaze.

“I can’t see anything,” Yeonjun said with disappointment in his voice.

“You can see into my mind why not hers?” Taehyun asked.

“I don’t know,” Yeonjun said. “Here take my hand, you can come out with me.”

Y/n placed her hand into Yeonjun’s and followed him outside of the circle.

“So is she human or what?” Soobin snarled.

“From what I'm feeling I think she’s human,” Taehyun announced “but a human can’t do any of this stuff.”

“I'm human,” y/n stated.

“Ok,” Yeonjun nodded. “Don’t worry about all that now. Let us figure out the details for you.”

“Isn’t that a little irresponsible?” Beomgyu smirked.

“These things seemed to be linked to her emotions,” Taehyun announced.

“So you just gotta stay calm,” Yeonjun smiled. “It’s that simple.”

“How am I supposed to stay calm when every time I turn around someone is either trying to kill me, eat me, or just play with my emotions?” Y/n stated as the dark clouds started to fill the sky again.

“No, don't get worked up,” Yeonjun said. “Just look at me and breathe.”

After a few short breaths, the clouds slowly disappeared.

“Someone tried to feed on you and you’re still alive?” Kai asked.

“Yea my blood burned his mouth,” y/n explained.

All the boys looked at Taehyun in shock.

“That’s enough for today,” Taehyun said. “I’m gonna talk to a few people and I’ll get answers.”

“How about I walk you to your dorm?” Yeonjun offered.

“Sure,” y/n sighed, following Yeonjun back to the girls dorm hall.

Yeonjun walked her inside even though no boys were allowed inside the building.

Once they reached her bedroom door, y/n turned to look at Yeonjun and smiled, “thank you for all your help.”

“It’s no problem at all,” Yeonjun said. He reached into his pocket pulling out a bracelet. “Here wear this and anytime you’re in danger or need help or even if you just want someone to talk to, push the button and it’ll notify me. And when it does I will come find you.”

“So basically you want to be my knight in shining armor,” y/n asked with a slight smile on her face.

“I don’t know about all that,” Yeonjun smirked. “But for now let’s just say I wanna help you out for a little until you get a little more adjusted. Usually the others won’t fuck with you if they know you’re with us.”

“Oh so you’re kind of the real deal huh?” Y/n teased.

“I didn’t want to say it like that but yea we’re kind of big deals around here,” Yeonjun boasted proudly.

Y/n stared at Yeonjun for a few seconds before wrapping her arms around him, squeezing as tightly as she could.

Yeonjun pushed her away, “what was that?”

“It’s called a hug,” y/n laughed. “It’s what humans do when they’re happy and want to thank someone for their kindness.”

“I thought humans banged for that,” Yeonjun smirked.

“And on that note, I’m going inside,” y/n said, rolling her eyes.

“What? Not inviting me in to thank me properly?” Yeonjun teased walking away.

Y/n turned to smile at him before walking inside.

“What was that about?” Ryujin asked the minute she stepped inside.

“What?” Y/N wondered.

“The thing between you and the witch boy,” Ryujin said.

“Oh nothing,” y/n smiled, walking over to her bed. “What’s this?”

“Oh yea someone dropped it at the door today for you,” Ryujin explained. “Open it up I want to see what’s inside.”

Yn slowly untied the bow and opened the box, pulling out a beautiful ball gown. She picked up the handwritten note and read aloud, “asleep or awake I dream of you all the same. Meet me under the clock at the masquerade ball when the clock strikes twelve…”

Y/N opened her eyes, stretching out in her bed after a restless, confusing night. She wasn’t sure how to process everything that happened the prior day nor did she know if she wanted to.

She looked over at her roommate’s bed only to see that Ryujin wasn’t alone in her bed.

“Good morning sunshine,” Ryujin happily said.

“Ugh I don’t know how good it is,” Y/N groaned.

She was trying to be discreet while she was looking, trying to figure out who was in Ryujin’s bed.

“Every morning is a blessing,” Ryujin stated, rolling over to get closer to the person laying next to her.

“I used to think that but not so much anymore,” y/n sighed.

“Ha,” Jay laughed while sitting up in Ryujin’s bed. “We heard about your special moment with jungwon.”

“He told you about that?” Y/n asked, surprised.

“Yea I heard how much you loved that crazy vamp sex,” Jay smirked.

Ryujin elbowed jay in the chest, “don’t say shit like that. It’s crazy vamp love making.”

“That never happened,” y/n denied.

“Then what did happen?” Ryujin asked as she touched Jay's hair.

“Nothing happened,” y/n sighed. “Nothing at all.”

“So not only are you human, you’re a liar as well,” Jay rolled his eyes, laying back down in the bed.

“I thought you two weren’t dating,” y/n said.

“We’re not,” Jay stated.

“I told you we’re in love,” Ryujin smiled widely.

“There’s nothing like crazy in bed,” Jay laughed.

“Aww baby,” Ryujin said, leaning down to kiss him. “You’re the sweetest.”

Y/N shook her head in disbelief, getting up to get dressed to give the two love birds some privacy even though they didn’t seem to mind her being there.

After getting dressed she did her makeup and hair and headed out of their dorm on a mission. She knew she had to find jungwon. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to say to him but they definitely needed to talk.

She searched all over with no signs of him. Her last stop was the study where Ryujin originally took her on her first day at the academy. When she entered the room, everyone turned to look at her.

“Um hi,” Y/N said, searching the room with her eyes. She landed on Heeseung and instantly felt the trembling starting, but forced her body to stop. “Is Jungwon here?”

“You have eyes,” Sunghoon grunted. “Do you see him?”

“Clearly I don’t see him right now but was he here?” Y/N asked.

“What do you want with him?” Jake asked. “I can give him a message if you want.”

“No, I just wanted to talk to him about something,” Y/N sighed.

Sunoo got up and walked over to stand in front of Y/N. He held his teddy bear in her face, “you didn’t say hi to Carl.”

“Oh I guess I forgot,” Y/N smiled. “Hi Carl.”

“Carl says go to hell bitch,” Sunoo smiled before hitting her with his bear then turning to go back to where he was sitting on the floor.

Heeseung glared at Y/N from a distance, not saying anything but she could feel his eyes on her. She looked at him, and attempted to break the tension with a smile. Heeseung rolled his eyes in response, turning to look in the opposite direction.

“Well if he comes back here before I find him can one of you just let him know that I was looking for him,” Y/N asked.

“No,” Sunghoon grunted.

“No?” Y/N repeated. “Why not?”

“Because I don’t want to,” Sunghoon smirked. “It’s that simple. I’m not your errand boy.”

“Whatever,” Y/N huffed while walking out of the room.

Once she was completely out of the study, Jungwon walked back around the corner and sat back down.

“Care to share why you're avoiding her now?” Jake asked.

“I’m not avoiding her,” Jungwon denied.

“It kind of seems like you are,” Jake argued. “You hid when she came in and only came back out once she left.”

“I’m aware of what happened, I don’t need a replay,” Jungwon snarled.

“Don’t tell me, you actually like the stupid human,” Heeseung snarled.

“I don’t fucking like her, asshole,” Jungwon snapped. “I just don’t feel like being nice to her today.”

“That sounds like a cop out,” Niki chimed in. “But what do I know?”

Heeseung smiled at Niki, “you know a lot. You’re really smart.”

“Yea I know,” Niki agreed.

Y/N walked down the hall, defeated, completely upset about not being able to find Jungwon. She didn’t understand why every other day he was everywhere she went and today when she wants to find him, she can’t. Is he avoiding her? She really hoped he wasn’t, that upset her for unexplainable reason.

As all these thoughts were running through her mind, Felix walked up behind her, tapping her on the shoulder.

Y/N turned around, “yes?” she asked.

“Hi I’m Felix,” he smiled, widely, “you must be Y/N.”

“Yea I’m her,” she smiled back, hesitantly.

“I’m so glad we can finally chat,” Felix said.

“And why is that?” Y/N asked.

“I’ve heard so much about you,” Felix explained. “And I’m quite curious. Plus I’m sure you could use a friend.”

“That’s the understatement of the century,” y/n smiled, amused by her own joke.

Felix stared emotionless for a few seconds without responding.

“You look familiar, have we met before?” Y/n wondered.

“No, I was in the room when my friends were questioning you with the bat and stuff,” Felix admitted.

“Oh you were involved with that,” y/n sighed, disappointed.

“Not entirely,” Felix said.

“Well you didn’t do anything to help me so you were just as bad as the others,” she argued.

“I would have helped you but they scare me too,” Felix confessed. “I’m so sorry I didn’t help you. I wish I was stronger and not such a loser.”

“Aww it’s ok,” y/n said now feeling guilty for saying anything about it to him. “You’re not a loser.”

“I am but it’s ok,” Felix stated. “I know what I am so you don’t have to lie to try to make me feel better.”

“I’m not lying,” y/n stated. “I never lie.”

“That’s an excellent quality to have,” Felix smiled again. “I was thinking you should do something to get revenge for the way they treated you.”

“How would I do that?” she asked.

“You should kill them all,” Felix said with a cold serious stare.

“I Um don’t…”

Felix started laughing, “I’m just kidding.” He lightly smacked y/n’s arm in a playful manner. “Killing is wrong so you should just break all their legs then piss on their limp bodies. You know to mark your territory and all.”

“Yea I don’t think I’ll be doing any of that either,” y/n said

Felix started laughing again, “man you’re gullible. I really had you going.”

“You sure did,” y/n nodded.

“Are you hungry?” Felix asked, nonchalantly changing the subject.

“Yea a little,” she nodded.

“You wanna go get some lunch?” Felix offered.

“Ok,” y/n smiled following Felix to the dining hall.

They walked in together and got their food and sat across from a table to eat their lunch.

Jungwon entered the lunch room, scanning the room with his eyes. He heard rumors that y/n was having a lunch date with one of the wolves but he had to see it with his own eyes. A feeling of complete rage overtook his body when he finally saw y/n happily eating lunch with the pretty wolf, chatting away with no care in the world. He sat next to Yeji at a table where y/n and Felix were still in full sight.

“Are you dating jungwon?” Felix asked innocently

“No why,” y/n wondered.

“Oh thank god,” Felix sighed, pointing at a table behind her. “Because if you were, this would be so awkward.”

Y/n quickly turned around to see Jungwon kissing Yeji, passionately in the middle of the dining hall.

“Are you fucking kidding me,” y/n snarled.

“What’s wrong,” Felix asked. “You said you two aren’t dating.”

“That slimy asshole,” y/n snarled as her eyes turned black as night but for only a moment.

“What just happened to your eyes?” Felix asked.

“He was kissing me last night and now he’s doing this,” y/n growled ignoring Felix’s question.

Sounds of thunder violently crashed together, loud enough to hear from inside.

“I think it’s time we had a little chat,” Taehyun said walking up to y/n.

“Wake up, y/n,” a man whispered into her ear.

Y/n rolled over, slowly opening her eyes, expecting or maybe hoping to see jungwon. Nearly jumping out of her skin when she saw Heeseung's face smiling at her in the dark. She wanted to scream but before she could even open her mouth, Heeseung had his hand over top of it.

“Tsk tsk tsk,” heeseung whispered. “Don’t make me duct tape your mouth shut.”

Y/n grabbed her wrist trying to grab the bracelet Yeonjun gave her earlier in the day, realizing it was no longer on her wrist.

Heeseung dangled the bracelet over top of y/n’s face with an eerie smile.

“Are you looking for this?” He asked. “You’re not gonna be needing it anytime soon.”

He took the bracelet and threw it across the room, out of reach of y/n.

“If I take my hand off your mouth do you promise you’re not going to scream?” Heeseung asked.

Y/n nodded yes, the best she could.

“Ok good,” heeseung smiled, slowly taking his hand off of her face.

Y/n quickly put her hand up to face rubbing where his hand was touching her, trying to rid herself of his sins.

“What are you going to do with me?” Y/n whispered, nearly in tears.

“I’m curious,” heeseung explained. “I kind of want to see for myself what all the fuss is about.”

Y/n’s eyes grew wide and she became too scared to move as heeseung traced her jawline with his finger, trailing it down her neck.

“This is the carotid artery,” he explained, moving his lips only a few inches away from hers. “If you puncture it just right, you can control the blood flow so it doesn’t make a mess, no waste. But I don’t necessarily care if it's messy. I think the blood adds to the excitement. Don’t you agree?”

Y/N’s trembling continued but less out of fear and more out of something else. She felt a little exhilarated, almost excited, which confused her in itself. Why or how could she be enjoying this, even in the slightest?

“Are you going to kill me?” Y/N wondered while smirking unknowingly.

Heeseung stopped smirking when he noticed Y/N’s reaction, “Ooooh you’re a little naughty, aren’t you?”

Y/N shook her head no, “I’m not naughty at all. I’m a good girl.”

“No, I can see inside your soul,” Heeseung smirked, leaning down and licking her lips. “You’re dark and I like it.”

“I don’t want any of this,” Y/N argued.

“Oh but you do,” Heeseung insisted. “I can feel your body trembling with excitement. I can hear your heart beating out of your chest pushing that delicious blood throughout your fragile body. It’s driving me insane.”

“It’s because I'm scared,” Y/N stated.

“Do you like being scared?” Heeseung smirked as his eyes turned black and his fangs grew out of his gums.

Heeseung ran his hand down her body, gently caressing all of her curves.

“Hmmm what should we do now?” Heeseung smirked.

“Please,” Y/N started.

“Oh baby you don’t have to beg,” Heeseung said. “I know you want me and I’m going to give you exactly what you want.”

Heeseung put his face an inch away from hers, staring intensely into Y/N’s eyes, “from now on you are going to want nothing to do with Jungwon. You’re only going to be worried about me. You are falling in love with me and you think I might be the one. You aren’t going to remember this happened. You will think you just had a dream about me.”

Y/N closed her eyes and when she reopened them, Heeseung was gone and she was alone in her bed. Y/N got up and ran over to pick up her bracelet, placing it back onto her wrist, tempted to push the button. She had the urge to see Yeonjun but at the same time didn’t want to bother him, afterall it was late and he was probably asleep. Y/N decided against pushing the button, she crawled back into bed and slowly fell asleep.

When the morning came, she got out of bed, got dressed and hurried out of her dorm. She went to her first class and took a seat next to a girl that she hadn’t met before.

The girl leaned over and whispered, “so you must be Y/N, I’ve heard so much about you.”

“Oh god,” Y/N groaned. “What have you heard?”

“You know,” Karina smiled. “All of the good, bad, and the ugly.”

“I’m not entirely sure what you mean by that,” Y/N sighed.

“Yeonjun speaks pretty highly about you,” Karina smiled.

“You’re friends with Yeonjun?” Y/N wondered.

“Yea he didn’t mention me?” she asked. “I’m Karina.”

“No,” y/n shook her head. “He didn’t say anything. Are you his girlfriend?”

“Eww no,” Karina cringed. She glanced down at Y/N’s wrist, smiling when she noticed the silver bracelet. “Did he give you that?”

Y/N placed her hand on the bracelet, smiling subconsciously, “yea he gave it to me last night.”

“I was right, he is a little sweet on you and you like him too,” Karina teased.

Before Y/N had time to respond, Jungwon and Heeseung entered the classroom. The smile dropped from Y/N’s face as she stood up and walked over to the two without any hesitation.

“Y/N,” Jungwon said, surprised.

She ignored Jungwon and looked at Heeseung.

“Hello there,” Heeseung smirked. “Missed me?”

“We need to talk,” Y/N demanded.

“Are you gonna confess your undying love for me?” Heeseung asked, smirking down at Jungwon.

“Can we please just talk?” Y/N begged.

“Ugh,” Heeseung groaned, walking out into the hallway, Y/N following him leaving Jungwon behind.

Once they entered the hallway Y/N pushed Heeseung, “what the hell was last night about?”

Heeseung stared at Y/N confused, “How can you remember that? I compelled you.”

“You did what to me?” Y/N asked.

“I told you to forget it,” Heeseung growled.

“Telling me to forget something isn’t actually going to make me forget it,” Y/N argued.

“Yeah that’s how it's supposed to work,” Heeseung stated.

“Well it’s not how it worked so I don’t know what to tell you,” Y/N snapped. “I remember everything. Why would you do this? Why would you tell me that I’m falling for you?”

Heeseung pushed Y/N against the wall, pressing his body firmly against hers, “even though you remember everything you still couldn’t stay away. I think you might actually be falling for me.”

“Not even a little,” Y/N denied.

Heeseung ran the back of his hand against Y/N’s face, “I can feel your heart racing,” he whispered. “I know you're getting excited.”

“Let me go,” Y/N pleaded as the statues in the halls and the portraits on the walls started shaking.

“HEESEUNG,” a man said walking up from behind the two. “Leave Y/N be.”

Y/N turned her head, seeing Yeonjun and Beomgyu walking towards them.

“Go to hell,” Heeseung snarled, as his eyes turned black.

Beomgyu glared at Heeseung and waved his hand, sending Heeseung flying across the hall slamming into the wall on the opposite side.

“Why didn’t you push your bracelet?” Yeonjun asked.

“I had things under control,” Y/N sighed.

Beomgyu laughed, “you're stupid.” he said walking into the classroom.

“You shouldn’t push your luck,” Yeonjun said. “I need you to stay safe.”

“Why are you so worried about me?” Y/N asked.

“Come on we’re going to be late,” Yeonjun said, putting his arm around Y/N's shoulder, guiding her into the classroom.

Chan and Minho walked together through the academy, making their way to the room where they were meeting all of the other boys.

“This is fucking stupid,” Minho complained. “Yuqi was coming to my room but you went and fucked that all up.”

“Knock it off,” Chan ordered. “I guarantee she’ll still be waiting on you when we get done with this shit. That girl is obsessed with you, she’d wait all day for you if you told her to.”

“If she’s not, I’m gonna be even more pissed and there will be hell to pay,” Minho threatened.

Chan stopped walking, turning to face Minho, “are you threatening me?” he growled.

Minho smiled, smoothing Chan’s shirt out with his hands, “of course I’m not threatening you. I’m not that stupid. You’re the alpha and I fully know and understand my role. Remember Mr Bang, I’m not new to all of this.”

Chan continued to stare, coldly, analyzing Minho’s explanation. A slight smile grew on his face before speaking. “As long as you understand the pecking order, I’ll let your behavior slide this time.”

“Oh,” Minho smiled, widely, “so are you saying I can skip this meeting?”

“Absolutely not,” Chan stated. “Come on, we’re going to be late.”

Minho groaned but ultimately followed Chan into the room.

“Finally,” Jungwon said to the two entering the room.

“It’s about time you decide to grace us with your presence,” Sunghoon snarled, rolling his eyes.

“This better be important,” Minho snarled, “I have important shit I’m skipping.”

“Important wolf business?” Younghoon chimed in, with a smile on his face. “Like what? Killing some chickens?”

Sangyeon smacked Younghoon’s arm but didn’t say a word. He didn’t have to say anything in order for Younghoon to know what he wanted. Sangyeon didn’t mess around and Younghoon didn’t want to mess with him. Younghoon’s smile dropped from his face and a snarl appeared as he didn’t dare to say another word.

“Kill chickens?” Minho repeated, disgusted. “How fucking stupid are you that you think I spend my time killing chickens?”

“Minho,” Chan stated, causing him to stop talking about the chickens.

“I was gonna get laid,” Minho bragged.

“Awww you were finally gonna break your cherry,” Yeonjun teased.

“Yeonjun,” Taehyun said, hoping it would shut him down.

“What I do?” Yeonjun asked.

“Knock it off,” Taehyun ordered.

“Why?” Yeonjun asked.

“So why are we here?” Chan asked, interrupting their little spat.

“Ok,” Jungwon sighed. “Getting right to the business, I see.”

“Well I’m not here for a slumber party,” Chan smiled.

Jungwon smiled in return, “take a seat and we’ll get started.”

Chan and Minho sat next to each other at the table where all of the others were already sitting.

“What’s this about?” Chan asked, bluntly. “Did my boys do something?”

“No, for once it’s not about the wolves,” Taehyun stated.

“It’s about the human,” Jungwon interrupted.

“Yea ‘the human’,” Sunghoon laughed.

Chan cocked his head at Jungwon and Sunghoon, “are you two implying that she isn’t human?” he asked.

“Not entirely,” Taehyun said.

“This isn’t make any sense,” Chan grunted.

“Have you ever heard of the First Family?” Jungwon wondered.

“Yea kind of,” Chan nodded.

“OK well…” Jungwon started.

“What the hell is the first family?” Minho interrupted.

Sunghoon laughed, “I figured ignorant wolves wouldn’t know anything.”

“SUNGHOON, enough,” Jungwon snarled, causing his companion to pout a little.

“The ‘First Family’ are the first vampires ever created,” Taehyun explained.

“Ok and what does that have to do with anything?” Chan asked.

“The legend states that the family was a normal viking family and they were living their lives as they did in that time, just trying to exist. They lived in a colony where men lived that had the ability to transform into wild beast creatures under the full moon,” Taehyun continued explaining.

“Werewolves,” Chan sighed.

“Exactly,” Taehyun smiled. “The matriarch of the family was a powerful witch who dabbled in the black arts. She loved her family very much and would do anything to protect them. Under the one full moon, one of her sons snuck out and was killed by one of the beasts and this traumatized her. She vowed none of her other children would ever succumb to the same fate. And so she created the first vampires.”

“One of the children wasn’t the same as the others. The legend says that the mother had an affair and the one son ultimately had a different father than the other children. His father had the ability to transform into a beast,” Jungwon explained.

“A hybrid,” Chan gasped.

“Yes, a hybrid,” Taehyun smiled again.

“This story time is fun and all but can we get to the point,” Minho snarled.

Chan elbowed Minho in the side, telling him to shut up without actually saying the words.

“When they noticed that the boy wasn’t the same as the others, the mother put a curse on him, preventing him from invoking the werewolf side. However, over the years to come he figured out how to break that curse and now he’s a full blown hybrid, a truly immortal creature. He cannot be killed,” Taehyun explained.

“And?” Chan asked.

“There are rumors going around between the witches that say that the hybrid had a child with a witch, a miracle baby if you will,” Taehyun stated.

“A tribrid?” Chan gasped.

“Precisely,” Taehyun nodded. “She’d be a mix between Vampire, Wolf, and Witch.”

“She?” Minho asked. “Don’t fucking tell me.”

“Y/N is the tribrid,” Sangyeon stated.

“Well we’re not entirely sure of that,” Taehyun corrected.

“Ok so what now?” Chan asked.

“We need to find out for sure,” Jungwon grunted.

“How?” Chan wondered.

“There’s a lot that doesn’t make sense,” Taehyun started. “I can’t seem to figure out, if she’s all of these things, why can’t I sense any of it.”

“But she’s definitely something,” Yeonjun stated. “A regular human doesn’t possess any of the abilities she has been showing.”

“I think you all might be grasping at straws here,” Minho grunted.

“Yea I thought the same thing,” Sunghoon nodded. “Have you seen that bitch? You would think if she was that special she would be a hell of a lot hotter.”

Jungwon shook his head in disgust, “we all gotta continue finding out as much as we can and figure out who or what she actually is.”

“But I don’t understand,” Chan sighed. “Why is it that important?”

“I had a vision,” Taehyun stated, noticing Yeonjun looking down at his silver bracelet he had on his wrist. “And let’s just say if she is what we think she might be, things could end very badly for all of us.”

Yeonjun leaned over to Taehyun and whispered, “she pushed her bracelet. She needs me.”

Taehyun closed his eyes for a few seconds and whispered, “she’s in our library.”

“I’ll catch up with you later,” Yeonjun said, standing up.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Younghoon asked.

“I uh I…” Yeonjun stuttered looking around at everyone currently staring at him. “I gotta shit like right now.”

Yeonjun didn’t wait for a response, he ran out of the room, leaving everyone behind to continue their course of action.

Y/N was sitting at a table, working on homework, alone, when Heeseung entered the library.

“Funny meeting you here,” he smirked.

“Is it really?” Y/N rolled her eyes. “Something tells me that you knew I was here.”

“You’re starting to get a little more outspoken,” Heeseung stated, appearing in the seat next to her.

“What do you want, Heeseung?” she asked.

“I figured we could use some alone time,” Heeseung smiled, seductively placing a strand of Y/N’s hair behind her ear.

“I don’t want alone time with you, I want to do my homework,” Y/N stated.

“Is that because you don’t like how I make you feel?” Heeseung whispered into Y/N’s ear, sending shivers throughout her body.

“Stop that,” Y/N ordered.

Heeseung's smile turned into rage as he grabbed Y/N by the neck. Before her knew what was happening Heeseung had her pinned up against the wall, gripping her neck tightly, making it hard for her to breathe.

“Heeseung,” she managed to get out. “You’re hurting me.”

Heeseung smirked, “and you like it.”

He let go of her neck bringing her arms above her head, holding them still.

“Ooooh we have company,” Heeseung smirked, before flipping her over so his back was against the wall and Y/N’s body was against his. He grabbed her head, forcing her to kiss him.

The door to the library flew open and Yeonjun entered.

“What the fuck,” Yeonjun snarled.

“Oh my,” Heeseung smiled, releasing Y/N. “What are you doing here?”

“What the fuck is going on?” Yeonjun snapped.

“Yeonjun,” Y/N gasped.

“Why would you bring me here for this?” Yeonjun snarled.

“I didn’t,” Y/N said. “But I’m so glad you’re here.”

“I think she wants you to join in,” Heeseung announced.

“You’re fucked up, you know that?” Yeonjun snarled, storming out of the library.

“Please don’t go,” Y/N begged.

Yeonjun ignored her pleas and continued to leave the room. He was extremely angry but didn’t understand why. This was all a game to him anyways so why was he actually bothered?

“What the fuck did you do?” Y/N yelled.

“He was getting in our way,” Heeseung smirked. “I want you all to myself.”

“What the fuck did you do?” Y/N yelled.

“He was getting in our way,” Heeseung smirked. “I want you all to myself.”

“You are sick,” Y/N snarled with a look of a combination of disgust and rage.

“Oh don’t be like that,” Heeseung smiled, innocently. “I know you like the attention.”

Y/N looked over at the water cooler in the corner of the room causing it to fall  to the ground. The water spilled out all over the floor, forming a trail to Heeseung.

Heeseung looked down at the water amused, “having a temper tantrum I see.”

Y/N started to lose herself in that moment. She wasn’t able to think straight. She felt only hatred when she looked at Heeseung. A deafening high pitch noise started radiating off of her body forcing Heeseung to fall onto the floor in utter pain. He grabbed at his ears, attempting to block the noise.

“Stop it,” Heeseung ordered from the floor. “Knock this shit off now!”

But Y/N didn’t stop, she wasn’t able to at this point. She looked over at the water on the floor causing it to ignite in a blazing inferno. The flames started towards Heeseung following the path on the floor. They reached his legs, fire engrossing his pants and his shoes.

“You’re gonna kill me,” Heeseung yelled, rolling around trying to extinguish the flames while trying to block out the high pitch sounds still radiating off of Y/N.

Suddenly two hands grabbed Y/N’s shoulders from behind.

“Y/N come on stop it, you don’t want to do this,” Jacob said, slightly shaking her, trying to knock her out of the apparent trance she was locked in.

Y/N looked down at her feet, blinking a few times as the flames slowly went out. She glanced up at Heeseung still laying on the floor appearing to be in agony with his charred pants.

“Oh my god,” she gasped. “Did I do that?”

Jacob appeared in front of Y/N, trying to block her vision of Heeseung. He gently placed his hands on her upper arms.

“You’re ok now,” Jacob sighed. “It’s over with.”

“I could have killed him,” she gasped, as a tear escaped her eye.

“But you didn’t,” Jacob comforted.

“If you wouldn’t have gotten here god only knows what would've happened,” Y/N argued.

“That’s not important,” Jacob stated. “What’s important is that I did get here and nothing too serious happened.”

“How can you say nothing too serious happened? Look at him,” she panicked.

“He’ll be fine. Let’s just get you out of here,” Jacob said, placing his arm around Y/N’s shoulder and leading her out of the library.

“How did I do that?” Y/N asked the stranger, expecting him to have a full explanation.

“I have no clue,” Jacob sighed, leading her down the hallway.

Y/N followed him for a few moments until reality sunk in. She stopped walking, pulling away from the kind stranger, looking him in the eyes.

“Wait,” she said. “Who are you and why are you helping me?”

“My bad,” he smiled. “I forgot we haven’t had the chance to officially meet yet. I’m Jacob.”

“How do you know me?” Y/N wondered, suspiciously, now realizing she has to question everything around here.

“I’m hurt,” Jacob continued smiling, placing his hand on his chest trying to express he had hurt feelings. “We have a few classes together.”

“Do we really?” Y/N asked. “I’m so sorry, I haven’t noticed you.”

“It’s ok, I usually like to stay in the shadows until I want to be seen,” Jacob laughed.

“Oh?” Y/N said, raising an eyebrow at him. “Why’s that?”

“It keeps me out of the drama,” Jacob added. “There’s always so much of it around here and I can’t stand it.”

“Yea I’m starting to notice that,” Y/N sighed. “Unfortunately I seem to be at the center of most of it.”

“That’s just because you’re new,” Jacob declared.

“I thought it was because I’m human,” Y/N stated.

“Are you really human though?” Jacob asked, with a half smile on his face.

“What does that mean?” Y/N wondered.

Jacob left out a playful sounding laugh, “nothing, I’m just playing around. Come on, I'll walk you back to your room.”

“Ok,” Y/N said, aimlessly following Jacob towards the girls' dorms.

The two didn’t talk very much on the way to her room. The events of the day ran through Y/N’s mind and Jacob’s comment. The ‘are you really human though’. What did that mean? She needed answers but didn’t know where to start.

They reached the girls’ dorm building and Jacob stopped at the entrance.

“I’ll see you around,” Jacob smiled.

“This is as far as you’re going?” Y/N wondered.

He lowered his head while raising an eyebrow, “do you want me to come to your room?” he asked.

Y/N’s mouth dropped, surprised by the question. She did want him to come to her room but only for some company. She didn’t want to be alone with her thoughts, but he seemed to think she wanted him to come to her room for other reasons, less pure reasons.

“I just thought we could hang out for a little,” Y/N said, trying to sound as innocent as possible.

“I’d love that,” Jacob smirked. “And I appreciate the offer but rumors have it that you’re kind of spoken for and like I said, I don’t like drama so maybe another time.”

“Rumors have it that I’m spoken for?” Y/N repeated. “By who?”

“Have a good rest of your day,” Jacob smiled, ignoring her question. “I’ll see you around.”

He turned and started walking towards the boys’ dorms.

“Wait, Jacob,” Y/n called. “You have to tell me who is claiming to be with me.”

“Try to get some rest,” Jacob suggested, continuing to walk away.

Y/N took a long, defeated breath before accepting she wasn’t going to get the answers she so desperately wanted.

She walked inside, making her way to her bedroom, surprised to see Ryujin sitting on her bed, alone. Ryujin looked up at Y/N, smiling an inviting smile, causing Y/N to break out into tears.

“Oh my god, what’s wrong?” Ryujin asked, truly concerned.

“Oh Ryujin, everything is such a mess,” Y/N stated, falling onto her bed.

“What happened?” Ryujin wondered.

“I don’t know where to start,” Y/N gasped.

“That’s an easy one,” Ryujin smiled, now sitting beside Y/N on her bed. “You just start at the beginning and go to the end.”

Y/N looked up at Ryujin, with a slight smile on her face, “I don’t know how you’re always able to make me smile.”

“I don’t know either,” Ryujin stated. “I’m just me.”

“That’s a good thing,” Y/N sighed. “I wish I could just be me but, I don’t know who that is anymore.”

“What do you mean by that?” Ryujin asked.

“I think I’m turning into something really dark,” Y/N confessed.

“No,” Ryujin denied, “you’re not dark. Trust me, I’ve seen dark and that’s not you.”

“Then what is it? Because today I hurt Yeonjun and now he hates me and I almost killed Heeseung,” Y/N cried.

“Wait wait wait,” Ryujin gasped. “You almost killed Heeseung? How?”

“I don’t know,” Y/N sighed. “And the thing that really scares me is I wanted him dead in that moment.”

Ryujin laughed, “don’t feel bad about that. We’ve all wanted Heeseung to be dead at least once.”

“Maybe I’m turning into a vampire,” Y/N said with wide eyes.

“Turning into a vampire?” Ryujin repeated, trying hard not to laugh.

“Yea it’s the only thing that makes sense,” Y/N stated.

“Did you drink a vampire’s blood and then get killed?” Ryujin asked.

“Ewww no,” Y/N cringed, scrunching her nose in disgust.

“Then you’re not turning into a vampire,” Ryujin sighed.

“Is that what happened to you?” Y/N wondered.

“That’s what happened to all of us,” Ryujin said. “There’s only a handful of pure bloods in this world.”

“Did you want this?” Y/N wondered.

“Of course I did,” Ryujin smiled. “I wanted to be with Jay for all eternity.”

“Jay turned you?” Y/N gasped.

“Why does that surprise you?” Ryujin asked. “I told you we are madly in love.”

“Yea but he…”

“HE WHAT?” Ryujin yelled as her eyes turned black.

“He doesn’t seem too nice to you all of the time,” Y/N said, trying to defuse the situation.

“That’s just his way,” Ryujin announced as her eyes went back to normal. “We used to go to high school together at a normal school and he was the most popular boy in school…”

“We used to go to high school together at a normal school and he was the most popular boy in school…”

“Oh my god did you see Jay this morning?” Chaeyoung asked, running up to Ryujin in the hallway.

“Not yet,” Ryujin smiled. “I’m sure he looks amazing though.”

“No you don’t get it girl, he’s looking for you,” Chaeyoung smiled.

“For me?” Ryujin asked. “Why?”

“I don’t know,” Chaeyoung said. “But everyone is talking about it.”

“Ryujin,” Jay said, walking up to the two girls. “I’ve been looking all over for you.”

“Well you found me,” Ryujin smiled, hating herself for saying something so stupid.

Ryujin never knew what to say. She was what you would describe as awkward. She wasn’t comfortable in her own skin but when she looked at Jay she forgot all of that. She knew what she wanted, she wanted jay.

Jay stared at Ryujin for a few moments, analyzing the love struck girl in front of him.

“I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today after school?” Jay said.

“Are you serious?” Ryujin asked. “Of course I’d like to hang out with you.”

“I figured you’d say yes,” he smirked. “Be at my car when I get there.”

“Ok,” Ryunjin agreed eagerly.

Jay didn’t say anything else as he half smiled at the girl and walked away.

“What was that about?” Chaeyoung asked.

“I don’t know,” Ryujin smiled, “But I’m not gonna question it. I can’t believe he finally knows who I am.”

“But don’t you think it’s a little strange that…” Chaeyoung continued.

“Shut the fuck up,” Ryujin growled. “You’re starting to ruin this for me.”

“Ok,” Chaeyoung said, looking down at her feet. “I just hope it goes like you want it to.”

The rest of the day went on without a hitch, just the mundane normal shit. But it seemed to last forever, time seemed to stand still because Ryujin has never been so excited for anything in her life.

The bell rang signaling the day was over. Ryujin ran to her locker, throwing everything inside and hurried outside to Jay’s car to wait on him. 45 minutes later he finally exited the building, headed to his car, kind of surprised the girl was still waiting.

“Hi,” Ryujin smiled, cheerily.

“Oh you’re still here,” Jay grunted.

“Yea of course I am, you told me to wait for you so I did,” Ryujin said.

“But I didn’t think you’d actually wait for almost an hour,” Jay laughed. “You must really want something from me.”

“Um,” Ryujin hesitated. “I don’t really know what you mean.”

“Oh god,” Jay rolled his eyes. “You’re dumber than I remembered.”

“Yea I guess I can be kind of dumb,” Ryujin agreed, just happy to be talking to the boy.

“Get in,” Jay ordered, climbing inside of his car.

Ryujin happily did as she was told. Once inside she turned to look at Jay, “so are we going to get something to eat or go to the mall?”

“Hell no,” Jay grunted. “We’re going to my house.”

“To do what?” Ryujin wondered.

“To have some fun,” Jay smirked. “I’m assuming it's the only thing you’ll be good at.”

“Um I’m not sure if I…”

Jay turned to look at her with a look of rage on his face, “you’re not sure if what?” he snapped. “You don’t want to hang out with me?”

“Of course I do,” Ryujin nodded.

“Ok good, then shut the fuck up and enjoy the ride,” Jay ordered.

Ryujin ignored her instincts to get out of the vehicle and go home, she stopped arguing and looked out of her window.

When Jay pulled into the driveway, he got out of the car and started walking inside. Once he got to the door he turned to see Ryujin slowly walking behind.

“Would you hurry the fuck up,” Jay ordered. “I’m starving.”

Ryujin didn’t respond, she just picked up her pace and followed the boy inside.

“So what are we eating?” Ryujin asked, innocently.

Jay turned around, eyes as black as night and his fangs fully exposed.

“You,” he snarled, moving closer.

“Oh my god,” Ryujin gasped. “What are you?”

“Your worst nightmare,” he whispered, biting down harshly on her neck. Ryujin continued to scream and fight to get him off of her. Jay continued to drink until he was satisfied. He pulled away, dropping Ryujin’s body onto the floor. “God you taste good.”

“Why are you doing this?” Ryujin cried.

“I thought you wanted my attention,” Jay said, wiping the blood off his mouth with his arm.

“Not like this,” Ryujin continued crying.

“You don’t look so good,” Jay said, cocking his head to look at her. “I think I might have over indulged,” he laughed.

“I don’t feel so good,” Ryujin announced. “Am I going to die?”

“Not yet,” Jay smirked, biting his wrist and forcing his arm into her mouth. “Drink.”

Ryujin did as she was told. After a few minutes Jay pulled his arm back and Ryujin stood up. She contemplated trying to run, she weighed her options as Jay stared at her. He moved inches away from her face, gazing intently into her eyes.

“You’re not going to be scared,” Jay ordered.

“I’m not scared,” Ryujin repeated.

“We’re going to party and have some fun,” Jay continued. “And maybe I will let you live.”

Ryujin smiled, “that was so delicious. Can I have some more?”

“That’s my girl,” Jay smirked, walking into the living room turning on some music. He poured them both a glass of whiskey before kissing Ryujin harshly grabbing her hair to hold her still.

The two continued to party for a few hours. Ryujin and Jay were dancing, bodies pressed firmly against each other. Jay kissed her head instantly sending shivers throughout her body. He leaned down lightly kissing her neck, running his tongue up to her ear, which he gently nibbled on. Ryujin was going insane with excitement. He kissed his way from her ear to her mouth, firmly pressing his lips against hers. He pulled away, whispering, “would you like to go to my bedroom?”

Ryujin nodded, afraid to speak because she didn’t want to take the chance of saying something wrong. Jay picked Ryujin up, throwing her over his shoulder to carry her up the stairs.

After an intense hour of sexual bliss, Ryujin laid on Jay’s arm with her arm over his chest while he lightly played with her hair.

“Are you going to kill me?” Ryujin whispered.

“I don’t think so,” Jay said. “You proved to be a good time.”

This put a smile on Ryujin’s face, she needed his approval. She wasn’t sure why it was so important but it was.

“Shit,” she said, starting to panic. “What time is it?”

Jay looked over at his alarm clock, “almost 8, why?”

“Oh my god, my father is going to kill me,” Ryujin said, attempting to sit up but was stopped by Jay.

“He’ll get over it,” Jay grunted. “I’m not ready for you to leave yet.”

“No you don’t understand,” Ryujin panicked. “The last time I was late and wasn’t home to make his dinner, he beat me so bad I ended up in the hospital.”

“That was you?” Jay asked. “Kids at school were talking about a girl getting beat and put in the hospital but I never knew that was you.”

“Yea that was me,” Ryujin sighed as tears started forming in her eyes. “This time he’s going to kill me for sure.”

“Where’s your mom?” Jay wondered.

“About a year ago, she took my little sister and left. I guess she got tired of getting beat,” Ryujin stated, trying to smile to cover up her real feelings.

“That’s fucked up,” Jay snarled. “Your life is really a mess.”

“I know,” Ryujin agreed. “But what can you do? These are the cards I was dealt and I just gotta accept it.”

“You poor thing,” Jay sighed. “You have nothing positive in your life. You are pretty much a lost cause.”

“I don’t know about all that,” Ryujin said.

“No it’s true,” Jay continued. “If you weren’t here, nobody would miss you either.”

Jay reached down grabbing her head with both hands, “I’m going to help you out though,” he whispered.

“How?” Ryujin wondered. Just then Jay snapped her neck, smiling as her body went limp, falling back down onto his bed.

Jay stood up and went to the bathroom, putting boxers on when he reentered his bedroom. He walked over to his dresser, pouring himself a glass of whiskey, leaning against the wall while staring at her body. After a few minutes, Ryujin inhaled deeply while sitting up in bed. She looked around the room, seeing Jay staring at her with a smile on his face.

“What did you do to me?” Ryujin asked.

“I killed you,” Jay smiled.

“What?” she wondered.

“You’re in transition,” Jay explained. “Now you gotta feed if you want to live.”

“And if I don’t?” Ryujin asked.

“You die,” Jay smiled. “And this time you won’t come back. I’ll be back in a little while. You wait here and think about what you want to do.”

He started to walk out of the room, before exiting he turned and walked over to stand beside her. Jay bent down, kissing her on the head, “think of all the fun you and I could have if you chose to live.”

Before Ryujin had time to respond, Jay was gone. He returned in what felt like an eternity. He walked into his bedroom, dragging Chaeyoung behind him.

“Ryujin, what’s going on?” Chaeyoung asked.

“Why is she here?” Ryujin asked.

“I brought you someone to feed on,” Jay smiled. “Think of it as a present from me to you.”

“I can’t do that to her,” Ryujin said. “She’s my best friend.”

“But I could be your best friend,” Jay smirked. He turned to look Chaeyoung in the eyes, “tell your friend how much you want her to feed on you.”

“Ryujin, I want you to do this,” Chaeyoung said, putting her arm out. “Here.”

Ryujin shook her head no, trying to deny her new urges. Jay smiled at her stubbornness. He exposed his fangs, biting down on Chaeyoung’s wrist, pushing it in front of Ryujin’s face.

“Feed,” Jay snarled.

Ryujin tried to fight the urge but she could smell it, taste it, and she could hear Chaeyoung’s heart beating pushing the blood throughout her body. It was practically calling her name. It was an urge she couldn’t resist. Before she knew what she was doing, Ryujin had Chaeyoung’s wrist in her mouth. Jay smiled, pleased with what he did. He walked up behind Chaeyoung, biting down on her neck while feeding alongside his new project. Ryujin continued to drink until she felt the life draining from her friend’s body but at this point all she could think about was Jay. She dropped Chaeyoung’s arm, forcing Jay to let go of her body as well. Ryujin pushed Jay up against the wall, kissing him with her friend’s blood on both of their mouths.

Ryujin pulled away, looking at Jay in the eyes and whispered, “now you and I can spend all eternity together baby. I should have known you loved me.”

“Oh fuck,” Jay snarled. “What did I do?”

“That’s just…” Y/N started.

“So romantic, right?” Ryujin interrupted. “I told you he was in total love with me.”

“But Ryujin, he used you, fed on you, killed you, then forced you to kill your best friend,” Y/N argued.

“Yea I was there,” Ryujin snarled. “But he did all of those things so we could be together forever.”

“I don’t know,” Y/N sighed.

“You can think what you want but I know the truth,” Ryujin snapped. “We’re madly in love and I’m starting to think you just might be jealous.”

“I’m not jealous,” Y/N argued.

Ryujin looked up at Y/N with her eyes black, “tell me the truth, do you have a thing for Jay?”

“Oh my god NO,” Y/N gasped.

“You better not be lying,” Ryujin snarled.

“I swear I’m not lying,” Y/N said, with a high pitched voice, hoping her roommate would take her word.

“Good because friends don’t like their friend’s boyfriends,” Ryujin stated as her eyes went back to normal.

Y/N smiled, “we’re friends?”

“Of course we are,” Ryujin returned her smile. “It’s starting to get late, maybe we should try to get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow.”

“We do?” Y/N wondered.

“Tomorrow is our annual carnival and then its the masquerade ball,” Ryujin explained. “Speaking of that, have you figured out who sent that dress to you?”

Y/N let out a sigh of disappointment, “no nobody has said anything about it to me.”

“I asked Jay about it and he didn’t know anything so I don’t know either,” Ryujin sighed.

“I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who shows up under the clock,” Y/N said.

“It’s kind of romantic though,” Ryujin smiled. “Don’t you think?”

“I mean, maybe,” Y/N nodded. “Under normal circumstances I would probably think it’s a little romantic but lately nothing good seems to happen so I kind of think it’s a little nerve racking.”

“You’re just being paranoid,” Ryujin sighed. “Now let’s get some sleep. You look like you could really use some beauty rest.”

“Thanks alot,” Y/N laughed, getting up off of her bed to go to the bathroom to get dressed in her pajamas.

When she returned to the room, Ryujin already appeared to be asleep. She was hoping she would have the same luck and be able to fall asleep rather quickly too. Her anxiety did seem to loosen up and she was no longer on the verge of having a mental breakdown. She crawled into bed, thoughts racing through her mind as she slowly drifted off to sleep.

Halfway through the night, Y/N heard someone whispering over by her roommate’s bed, disturbing her peaceful sleep. She rolled over, only slightly opening one eye, wanting to still appear to be asleep.

Jay was sitting on Ryujin’s bed, gently moving her hair out of her face. “Baby wake up,” he whispered.

Ryujin opened her eyes, smiling once she saw Jay in her bed. “Jay,” she said. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too,” Jay sighed, smiling.

Ryujin lifted the covers up, scooching over to make room for the boy to crawl in. “Get in,” she offered.

“No,” Jay stated. “Not here.”

“Why not?” Ryujin wondered, confused.

“I’m gonna make you scream and I don’t want the audience,” Jay explained with a smirk on his face. “I have something special for you.”

“Ooooh what?” Ryujin asked excitedly, sitting straight up in bed.

Jay lightly caressed her face with his hand, “come with me and I’ll give it to you.”

“Ok,” Ryujin smiled.

“That’s my girl,” Jay said, standing up and placing his hand out for Ryujin to grab.

Ryujin didn’t hesitate, she placed her hand into Jay’s and they disappeared out of the room just as quickly as Jay first appeared.

Y/N shook her head while rubbing her eyes, turning over to attempt to go back to sleep when Jungwon appeared out of the shadows.

“Y/N,” he whispered, causing her to nearly jump out of the bed. “Calm down, it's just me.”

Once Y/N realized who was in her room, she scowled, “what do you want?”

“I’m sorry,” Jungwon sighed. “If I hurt your feelings in any way, I’m sorry.”

“If?” Y/N repeated. “That’s a really shitty apology.”

“You know you hurt my feelings too,” he snapped.

“What are you talking about?” Y/N said. “I didn’t do anything to you. You’re the one who decided to make out with another girl right in front of me.”

“I only did that because you decided to go on a lunch date with that wolf,” Jungwon snarled, trying not to let his emotions get the best of him.

“It wasn’t a lunch date,” Y/N argued. “I was so upset about things and he was just being nice to me. Felix is my friend.”

“I don’t like you being friends with wolves,” Jungwon announced.

“Well that's too bad because you don’t get to tell me who i can and can’t be friends with,” Y/N snapped.

Jungwon sat down alongside Y/N on her bed, “I wasn’t trying to tell you that.”

“It kind of sounded like you were,” Y/N argued. “And then you punished me for not listening.”

“I’m just trying to look out for you,” Jungwon snapped. “Felix is the worst of them wolves.”

“Why do you even care?” Y/N asked.

“Well I… I… I kind of… well you’re my friend,” Jungwon sighed.

“Oh,” Y/N said, looking down at her hands a little disappointed.

“What’s wrong?” Jungwon asked, lifting Y/N’s chin up with his hand, forcing her to look at him. “You seem a little disappointed.”

“No,” Y/N denied. “It’s not disappointment, I’m not sure what it is though.”

“Maybe this will help clear things up,” Jungwon smirked, leaning in and pressing his lips firmly against hers.

Y/N instinctively kissed him back, but forced herself to stop and pushed him away.

“Jungwon stop that,” she ordered. “I’m not going to be your toy.”

“What are you talking about?” Jungwon snarled.

“I don’t want to be like Ryujin. I am not going to be into you only to have you play with my emotions every chance you get,” Y/N snapped.

Jungwon let out a little chuckle, “is that what you think happens between Ryujin and Jay?” he asked.

“Yea she told me how he turned her and that’s just awful. He uses her and she’s too blinded by love to see it,” Y/N argued.

“You are sadly mistaken,” Jungwon smiled. “Jay loves her too. He just shows it in his own way.”

“That’s what she says too, but I’m not stupid and I have eyes,” Y/N sighed. “I see how he treats her. You don’t treat someone you love like that.”

“Did she tell you what happened after he turned her?” Jungwon asked.

“How he made her kill her best friend? Yes, she did tell me that,” Y/N snapped. “And that’s just sick.”

“No, not that part,” Jungwon said. “The part about her dad?”

Y/N stared at Jungwon, without saying a word and shook her head no.

“I didn’t think so,” Jungwon smiled. “Ryujin was worried about her dad not knowing where she got to. So Jay took her to see him. When they walked in and he saw her with a boy he lost his shit. He started degrading her and calling her everything under the sun which made Ryujin upset and forced her to cry. Even though her father treated her awful her entire life, it was still her father and she loved him and wanted him to love her in return. Jay couldn’t stand seeing her hurt by this man. He killed him out of rage and this binded the two forever.”

“Jay killed her father?” Y/N repeated.

“Jay has a weird way of showing his feelings but honestly he does love Ryujin and would never let anything bad ever happen to her,” Jungwon explained.

“But he treats her awful,” Y/N insisted.

“That’s only in public,” Jungwon continued. “He doesn’t like anyone to know that he has a soft side but when they’re alone, it’s completely different.”

“He doesn’t even admit they are dating,” Y/N pointed out.

“He doesn’t have to,” Jungwon added. “Everyone knows they are and knows not to disrespect his girl otherwise they’ll have to pay the consequences.”

“Is that what you want with me?” Y/N asked, instantly regretting letting those words slip out of her mouth.

Jungwon laughed, “what do you mean?”

“Do you only want to be nice to me when we’re alone and then ignore me and treat me like shit in public,” Y/N explained.

“Not at all,” Jungwon smiled. “But to be honest, I don’t have a real answer of what I actually want.”

“That’s not enough for me,” Y/N sighed.

Jungwon ignored her words, leaning in and briefly pressing his lips against hers again.

“I think I might like you,” Jungwon whispered. “And I think we should explore those feelings.”

“This isn’t how we should be doing that,” Y/N argued.

“What do you mean?” Jungwon smiled. “This is the best way I know to explore any feelings.”

He pushed Y/N down onto her bed, laying on top of her body, kissing her once more. He pulled away, gently placing a strand of hair behind her ear. “But I’ll respect you, if you’re not ready,” he whispered.

Y/N wanted to say she was, but she knew that this whole situation was wrong. It didn’t matter that her body was screaming at her to say yes, it didn’t matter that her heart was saying yes. Her mind knew she had to be smart and if he was serious then he would be ok to wait for every part of her to be on board.

Y/N shook her head, “Jungwon this isn’t right. I can’t do this.”

Jungwon sighed, leaning down and kissing her once more before disappearing out of her room, leaving her alone in her bed.

The night went on, while Y/N laid restless in her bed, unable to fall back to sleep. She tossed and turned thinking about everyone and everything. She had some regrets about rejecting Jungwon. She thought she might have some feelings for him but she wasn’t sure. She also thought about how she might have feelings for Jungwon and even Heeseung. Her emotions seemed to be getting jumbled and she could no longer distinguish the difference between rage, love, like, or just lust. It was all so confusing.

The morning light shone through the curtains in her dorm.

“A new day, a new beginning,” Y/N said to herself, getting up out of bed. She was hopeful that today would be a better day. After all, it couldn't be much worse.

Y/N got dressed in an outfit that was suitable to attend a carnival. She had no idea what kind of carnival a school like this would be hosting but how different could it really be?

After her hair and makeup was perfect, she made her way down to the dining hall for some breakfast. She only recognized a few of the people in the room but decided to sit alone at a table to eat in peace.

“Good morning, sunshine,” Felix said, walking over to her table.

Y/N looked up to see Felix standing in front of her with Jeongin and Han. She hadn’t seen Han or Jeongin since the incident that happened in the study and it made her extremely uncomfortable being so close to them again. But she forced a smile onto her face, “good morning,” she grunted.

“You look pretty this morning,” Felix smiled.

“Thanks,” Y/N sighed, continuing to eat her breakfast.

Felix sat down across from Y/N at the table. “What’s wrong with you? Are you mad at me?” he asked.

“No,” Y/N stated, coldly.

“Something is wrong,” Felix continued. “I can tell.”

Y/N glanced at Han and Jeongin who were both analyzing her with different expressions on their faces then went back to looking at her food, not responding.

Felix smiled, “sit down guys. I think you’re making sunshine nervous.”

Jeongin and Han groaned but sat down without saying anything else.

“Is that better?” Felix asked.

Y/N appeared to become more uncomfortable as she dropped her fork onto her tray of food. “I guess,” she sighed.

“Is it them?” Felix wondered.

“Well they did try to kill me,” Y/N whispered.

“Heeseung tried to kill you too,” Han grunted. “But you just keep trying to bang him.”

Jeongin laughed, “we would just like the same respect.” His smile dropped from his face and a scowl appeared.

“First of all,” Y/N snapped, “Heeseung has never actually tried to kill me. And second I would never try to bang him. That’s just disgusting.”

“You act like people don’t talk,” Han snarled. “You can’t keep your dirty little secrets hidden around here.”

“I’m not trying to keep anything hidden,” Y/N argued. “And I don’t want lies being told about me.”

“You don’t like lies and yet you’re the biggest liar of them all,” Jeongin smiled, cocking his head while looking at Y/N with wide eyes.

“Why did you bring them over here?” Y/N bluntly asked Felix. “They clearly don’t like me.”

“They wanted to apologize for their bad behavior towards you,” Felix stated. “Don’t you believe in second chances?”

“Of course I do,” Y/N nodded. “But if that’s the case then why are they treating me so meanly now.”

“This is mean,” Han laughed. “I am more than willing to show you mean if that’s what you’re into.”

Y/N exhaled deeply, purely out of frustration, she moved her chair back and attempted to stand up, unable to complete the action. There were two hands on her shoulders holding her still. She panicked, turning her head to see who was behind her.

“Good morning, all,” Chan smiled. “I hope I'm not interrupting anything.”

“You have the worst timing,” Jeongin snarled.

Chan ignored the boy’s comment, continuing to smile down at Y/N, “Is it alright if I join you for breakfast?” he asked.

“I was just about finished eating,” Y/N sighed, looking down at her almost full tray of food.

“It looks like you barely ate anything,” Chan argued.

“You need to eat your food to keep your strength up,” Felix added.

“Little bitch is just too excited to eat,” Han laughed. “I have that effect on sluts.”

Y/N shot him a look of death before speaking, “I actually lost my appetite because of your disgusting behavior.”

“I knew you’d like it filthy,” Han smirked. “You’re a dirty little bitch.”

“Jisung,” Chan snarled. “That’s enough.”

“But I didn’t do anything,” Han argued.

“Go get ready for the carnival,” Chan ordered.

“I am ready,” Han snapped.

“No you’re not,” Chan growled. “Now don’t make me repeat myself.”

Han huffed before ultimately standing up and leaving the dining hall. Chan breathed a sigh of relief that Han didn’t put up too much of a fight, he turned to face Y/N with a giant smile on his face.

“May I join you?” he asked.

“Sure,” Y/N nodded, “but I told you I think I’m pretty much done eating.”

“It looks like you barely touched your breakfast,” Chan stated, glancing down at the tray of food in front of her.

“I kind of lost my appetite,” she sighed, glancing at Jeongin then looking back down at her food.

“Eh,” Chan smirked, “why don’t you just eat a little more. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I always make sure all of my boys eat a proper breakfast. Isn’t that right, boys?”

“I love breakfast,” Felix smiled, innocently.

Jeongin rolled his eyes, “you’re such an ass kisser.”

Felix’s smile dropped from his face as he reached into the waste of his pants, pulling out a switchblade.

“What the fuck did you just call me?” he snarled.

“What the hell Felix?” Y/N gasped.

Felix slowly turned his head to look at her, a smile slightly growing on his face as he lowered his hand, “I was clearly joking. I was just trying to lighten the mood,” he laughed.

Jeongin ran his finger across his own throat while making eye contact with Felix, “your time will come mother fucker,” he growled.

“Knock this shit off,” Chan snapped. “I just want to enjoy a nice breakfast with my new friend. So anyone who isn’t eating needs to leave the dining hall right now and get ready for the fucking carnival.”

Jeongin stood up and stormed out of the dining hall, Felix wasn’t as quick to leave though. He gently smiled at Y/N before speaking, “I hope we’ll get to hang out today at the carnival. I’d love to go on some rides with you.”

“I’d like that too, Felix,” Y/N smiled back.

Felix’s smile dropped, “hopefully no accidents will happen though. Rides can be awfully dangerous.”

“Umm,” Y/N hesitated. “Yea I hope not too.”

“I’m just kidding,” Felix said, laughing, “accidents on rides are very unlikely.”

“That’s enough, Felix,” Chan grunted. “Go get ready.”

“I’ll see you later, sunshine,” Felix stated as he walked away from the table, leaving the dining hall.

Chan sighed heavily, “sorry about my boys. They can be a lot sometimes.”

“I don’t know,” Y/N said, pushing the food on her tray around with a plastic fork. “Felix has been really nice to me. But he’s the only one.”

“Hmm,” Chan said, raising an eyebrow. “I’m glad to hear that Felix has been nice. Well I’ll still apologize for the other ones. You’re just new things will get better, I promise.”

“It’s whatever,” Y/N sighed. “I think I’m starting to get used to everyone treating me like that.”

“That’s not a good thing,” Chan stated. “You shouldn’t have to get used to anyone treating you poorly.”

“What can I do?” Y/N asked. “I’m human and I’m no match for anyone here.”

“There’s more to defending yourself than just physical strength,” Chan stated. “Words can cut deeper than a knife. You need to learn to be smarter than everyone in the room. Make sure you always keep your eyes open and see every situation for what it actually is.”

“Why are you being so nice to me?” Y/N asked.

“I don’t like to see anyone getting bullied,” Chan said. “Are your parents coming today?”

“My parents?” Y/n repeated. “Why would my parents be coming here today?”

“Parents are allowed at the carnival,” Chan smiled. “Didn’t anyone tell you that?”

“No one really tells me anything,” Y/N sighed. “But to be honest, I’m not too interested in seeing my parents right now.”

“Why’s that?” Chan asked.

“They sent me here without any warning. I don’t know why either. I just woke up one morning in my new bed with Ryujin smiling at me,” Y/N explained. “It doesn’t make sense why they didn’t want me with them anymore.”

“I’m sure they had their reasons,” Chan sighed. “Maybe it would help you and give you some kind of closure to ask them their reasons.”

Y/N sighed, dropping her fork onto the tray of food, “maybe…but to be honest I think I’m a little scared to hear their reasons.”

“I hear that,” Chan smiled. “That’s neither here nor there, let’s not think about such things now. We should probably head out to the carnival.”

Y/N stood up, picking her tray up to return it before leaving, freezing in her tracks when she saw Yeonjun and some girl enter the dining hall holding hands.

“This is such bullshit,” Y/N snapped, dropping her tray back onto the table and storming out of the room, fighting back the tears.

“Hey, Y/N,” a voice called out from down the hallway. “Wait for me.”

“Hey Y/N,” a man called out from down the hallway, “wait for me!”

Y/N turned around, seeing a boy that she didn’t recognize running towards her with a huge smile on his face.

“Thanks for waiting,” Sunwoo said in between deep breaths.

“I’m sorry but do I know you?” Y/N wondered, confused.

Sunwoo smiled an inviting smile before speaking, “no, not personally but, I’m really good friends with Jacob.”

“Ok and?” Y/N asked, wondering where this conversation was going.

“Anyone that is a friend of Jacob’s is a friend of mine,” Sunwoo smiled, innocently.

“Is that so?” Y/N asked, suspiciously.

“Of course it is,” Sunwoo nodded.

“What exactly do you want?” Y/N wondered, wiping the lone tear that escaped her eye.

“I saw what happened in the dining hall and I noticed you appeared to be very upset,” Sunwoo sighed. “I just wanted to check on you to make sure you were ok.”

“I’m fine,” Y/N stated.

“That’s good to hear,” Sunwoo smirked. “Are you headed to the carnival?”

“No, I’m not really in the mood for all of that right now,” Y/N said.

“Awww that’s a shame,” Sunwoo proclaimed. “Jacob was really looking forward to hanging out with you today.”

“I didn’t know that,” Y/N uttered, looking down at her feet. She felt a little indifferent about the conversation. Sunwoo had a weird air about him. He appeared to be nice and caring but something seemed a little off. Y/N felt like she should listen to her instincts but at the same time didn’t want to be rude. She didn’t really have the room to piss off any of the friends that still remained on her side.

“Why do you seem surprised by that?” Sunwoo asked.

“I haven’t talked to him or actually seen him for days,” Y/N stated.

“Yea that’s just how Jacob rolls,” Sunwoo explained still smiling, “He’s an enigma.”

Y/N took a deep breath, forcing a smile on her face, “I guess I’ll go find him and see what he wants.”

“I can take you to him if you want,” Sunwoo suggested.

The offer brought back feelings of uncertainty. She had to learn the hard way not to trust anyone, especially people that she didn’t know. The last time she depended on someone to take her to a friend, they led her into a situation where her life was in danger.

Y/N took a step backwards away from Sunwoo, “I can find him myself.”

“What’s wrong?” Sunwoo asked as the smile dropped from his face.

“Nothing is wrong,” Y/N denied. “I just…I…”

“I’m not going to hurt you,” Sunwoo stated.

“I didn’t say you were,” Y/N snapped.

“You’re acting like you’re scared of me,” Sunwoo conceded.

“I’m not scared of you,” Y/N argued. “I just don’t know you and I don’t know if it would be that smart of me to go with you blindly.”

Sunwoo laughed, “that’s actually smart of you.”

“What?” Y/N asked

“I mean in normal situations,” Sunwoo agreed. “But this is different. You can trust me, I’m friends with Jacob.”

“Yea and I thought I could trust Niki because he was friends with Jungwon. Look where that got me,” Y/N huffed.

“I’m not sure what any of that means,” Sunwoo said, scrunching his nose.

“It doesn’t matter,” Y/N exhaled. “I’m gonna head down to the carnival and look for Jacob. If you see him first, just let him know that I’m looking for him.”

“Ok,” Sunwoo grunted, “but I think you really need to work on your trust issues. Not everyone is out to get you.”

“History has proven that statement to be incorrect,” Y/N argued.

She walked away from Sunwoo headed out of the school, making her way down to the carnival. Festivities were already in full swing. People were everywhere. Y/N walked around, aimlessly looking for Jacob or anyone else that she recognized and wanted to talk to.

Y/N went up to a stand and got a soda, she felt a distinct feeling that she wasn’t able to shake. It was a feeling that has felt throughout her life, a feeling like she was being watched. She could feel eyes burning through her soul. Y/N looked around the sea of people, looking for anyone who appeared to be watching her. She saw a man that appeared to be out of place. He was leaning against a tree, staring straight at her. She had never seen this man before and had no idea who he was. He looked too old to be a student here but according to Chan, families were allowed to attend this event so that could explain his presence.

Y/N and the stranger locked eyes, as an evil grin grew on his face, sending shivers through her body. Something didn’t feel right about this situation and she wasn’t going to take any chances. Y/N hurried away from the stand, continuing to look for anyone at this point.

She walked through the carnival, looking at all the games and rides, amazed by the excessive measures that the school went to in order to put this event together.

Y/N had that same feeling again, she turned and again saw the eerie stranger staring at her from afar. The evil smile grew on his face as he started walking towards her. Y/N didn’t want to take any chances, she ran off in the opposite direction. She turned down one of the paths, bumping into someone walking towards her.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” Y/N gasped, catching herself from falling.

“You really need to be more careful,” Sunoo smiled.

“Sunoo,” Y/N gasped. “I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you.”

“To see me?” Sunoo asked. “Why?”

“I think someone is following me,” Y/N sighed.

Sunoo laughed, “you’re stupid.”

“I’m not stupid,” Y/N argued, annoyed with his response. “There’s a man here that is watching me.”

“Everyone is going to watch the stupid human,” Sunoo explained, lifting his bear up in front of his chest. “You didn’t say hello to Carl.”

“I didn’t think Carl liked me,” Y/N announced, trying not to upset Sunoo.

“He doesn’t but to be fair no one actually likes you and you still say hi to everyone else,” Sunoo smirked. “Now fucking say hello to carl.”

“Hello there, Carl. How are you doing today?” Y/N sighed.

“Carl said today is the day you’re going to die,” Sunoo laughed, smacking her with the bear before walking away.

Y/N took a deep breath, a breath of defeat and disappointment before looking around, only to see the stranger walking in her direction again. She panicked slightly, running into the closest building to her, the fun house.

Everything was dark, except for the black light illuminating certain objects in the rooms. There were clowns laughing in the background. Y/N was terrified of clowns and instantly regretted her decision of entering this building. But a fun house was supposed to be fun, it was included in the name afterall. She took a deep breath and started wandering through the house, when that familiar feeling hit her again. She looked around, unable to see anyone in the room with her.

“I can see you,” a man’s voice sounded out. “But you can’t see me.”

“What do you want with me?” Y/N yelled.

The man laughed maniacally in response. Y/N didn’t recognize the voice, it wasn’t a voice of one of her previous tormentors. She knew it had to be the man who has been following her all day. But what did he want from her? She frantically ran from room to room trying to escape the fun house with no success.

“Ring around the rosie,” the man started singing. It was as though he was circling her but she still was unable to see who the culprit was. “A pocket full of posies. Ashes ashes, we all fall down.”

Y/N felt two hands grip her shoulders, shoving her onto the ground then laughter sounded out again.

“This isn’t funny,” Y/N cried.

“Humor is subjective my dear,” the man snarled, poking her on the back. “I find this quite comical.”

“Who are you and what do you want with me?” Y/N asked, scooching up on the floor trying to find a wall so at least one part of her would be protectied. She scooched until she bumped into something, something that she knew wasn’t a wall, it was a person. Y/N felt the tip of a blade lightly graze her neck. She felt the cool metal as it caressed her soft skin.

“Now it’s time for the real fun,” the man laughed.

“Now it’s time for the real fun,” the man laughed.

“Please don’t do this,” Y/N begged.

“Sometimes the daughter has to pay for the father’s sins,” the man snarled.

Y/N heard shouting coming from the other rooms in the fun house. The voices were muffled and she couldn’t hear what was actually being said but anybody would be welcomed at this moment.

“Help me,” Y/N yelled. “Somebody please help me!”

“Shut the fuck up little girl,” the man snarled jamming the point of the knife into her throat as footsteps started getting closer to the room they were in. “If you yell again, I will slit your throat.”

Y/N didn’t dare to scream again, she was too scared to move. She prayed in her head for whoever was in the fun house with them would come inside the room and save her.

The man took a huge sniff of Y/N’s hair, closing his eyes before whispering, “until next time Ms. Kwon.”

Heeseung and Niki ran inside of the room, seeing Y/N sitting alone on the floor. “What happened to you,” Heeseung asked.

Y/N realized that she was all by herself. She stood up, running to Heeseung and wrapping her arms as tight as humanly possible around him. She laid her head against his chest as the tears started flowing.

“Getting lost isn’t worth all of this,” Niki said, rolling his eyes.

Y/N ignored the boy’s comment and continued crying, holding onto Heeseung for dear life.  Heeseung gently placed his hand onto her back, rubbing it in a comforting manner. “Calm down,” he whispered, leaning his head down onto her head.

“I need to get out of here,” Y/N said, attempting to pull away from Heeseung.

Heeseung wrapped both of his arms around her and the next thing she knew they were standing outside of the fun house.

“Thank you,” Y/N sighed.

Heeseung cocked his head at Y/N, “are you bleeding?” he asked.

Y/N put her hand up to her throat, feeling a warm sensation onto her hand. She pulled her hand away exposing blood. Heeseung gently moved Y/N’s hair off of her neck to get a better look at where the blood was coming from.

“What happened to your neck?” he wondered.

“There has been a man following me around today. I went into the fun house to get away from him but he followed me inside. He had a knife to my neck and if you wouldn’t have gotten there when you did…” Y/N explained with tears in her eyes. “I don’t know what would have happened.”

“Who was this guy?” Niki interrupted.

“I don’t know,” Y/N sighed. “I’ve never seen him before.”

“We can’t have you bleeding with all these vampires roaming around,” Heeseung stated, biting on his own wrist and moving it closer to Y/N’s face. “Drink.”

Y/N pushed his arm away from her face, shaking her head no, “I don’t want to.”

“I wasn’t asking,” Heeseung growled as his eyes turned black. “Now fucking drink.”

He shoved his wrist into her mouth holding his arm there and with his other hand he held her head still, forcing her to consume his blood which instantly healed the opened wound on her neck. After he was content with the amount she took in, he smiled as he lightly patted her hair. “That was a good girl.”

Y/N looked at Heeseung with utter disgust, “why are you doing this?”

“Can’t you ever just be grateful?” Niki interrupted.

Heeseung gently caressed Y/N’s cheek, staring into her eyes, “you look really sexy with blood on your face.”

“There’s the person I’ve been looking for,” Jacob said, walking up to the three.

“Jacob,” Y/N smiled, relieved to see him finally.

“What happened to you?” he asked.

“Nothing happened,” Niki snarled.

“You need to move along, little boy,” Heeseung ordered. “There’s nothing to see here.”

“I don’t know about that.” Jacob smirked while cocking his head, “I see two assholes that appear to be making an innocent girl very upset.”

“Who the fuck are you calling an asshole?” Niki growled as his eyes turned black.

“It’s not like that,” Y/N interrupted. “Well not entirely….”

“This doesn’t concern you,” Niki added.

“I believe it does,” Jacob smiled. “Why do you have blood on your shirt?”

Y/N looked down at her shirt, fighting back the tears that wanted to flow again, “I…I…it’s a long story.”

“Are they feeding on you?” Jacob asked.

“Jealous?” Heeseung smirked.

“Jealous of you?” Jacob laughed, “I don’t need to force anyone to let me feed on them. For me they do it because they want to.”

“Forcing is part of the fun,” Niki smiled, proudly.

“Stop this, all of you,” Y/N snapped. “That is not what happened. No one is feeding on me.”

“You’re right, baby,” Heeseung whispered, wrapping his arm around her waist. “She’s feeding on me.”

“What?” Jacob asked with a look of disgust on his face.

“It’s not like that,” Y/N said, pushing Heeseung away as she moved closer to Jacob.

“Then what’s it like?” Jacob wondered.

“I was almost killed and Heeseung and Niki saved me,” Y/N explained.

“Killed by who?” Jacob asked.

“We don’t know,” Niki sighed.

“We didn’t see him,” Heeseung added. “But I doubt he’s gone and Y/N shouldn’t be alone.”

“I’ll stay with her,” Niki offered with an evil smirk on his face.

“Or she could hang with me,” Jacob offered.

“I kind of just want to go back to my room,” Y/N sighed.

Jacob put his hand out for her to grab, “I’ll make sure you get home safe.”

Y/N looked at Heeseung and Niki before placing her hand into Jacob’s, “thank you for saving me.”

“Whatever,” Heeseung rolled his eyes.

“Maybe I’ll see you later at the dance,” Y/N said, forcing a smile onto her face.

“You’re still planning on going to the dance?” Niki asked.

“With me as her escort, nothing bad will happen to her,” Jacob smiled at the other two boys.

“When the fuck did that get decided?” Heeseung snarled.

“I’m the only one she’s not terrified of,” Jacob smirked. “Being an asshole all the time has its consequences, Mr Lee.”

“Fuck you,” Heeseung snarled.

“Eh maybe another time,” Jacob laughed, walking away with Y/N.

Heeseung took a step towards them, planning on following the two to her room when a hand was placed on his shoulder. Heeseung turned around quickly to see Jungwon and Sunghoon.

“Leave them go,” Jungwon ordered.

“But…” Heeseung started.

“No,” Jungwon snapped, “I said leave them fucking go.”

“Man this bitch must have a golden pussy,” Sunghoon snarled, rolling his eyes.

“What the fuck does that mean?” Niki asked.

“The way all of you swoon over her is absolutely disgusting,” Sunghoon announced.

“I will kill you,” Heeseung growled.

“Enough,” Jungwon snapped. “What happened?”

“We found her in the fun house,” Niki explained. “He was gone by the time we got there.”

“Did you see him?” Jungwon asked.

“No but he was threatening to kill her,” Niki said.

“When we first got inside, I heard him say, ‘sometimes the daughter has to pay for the father’s sins’,” Heeseung induced. “It appears somebody is out for revenge.”

“Was she hurt?” Jungwon asked.

“She was but I gave her my blood,” Heeseung smiled, knowing Jungwon would be upset by that.

“Wait,” Jungwon said, “she didn’t heal on her own?”

“No she’s ‘human’,” Niki rolled his eyes.

“Remember when Eric tried feeding on her, she healed on her own,” Jungwon snapped. “And when Changmin did it, she healed too.”

“Yea and?” Heeseung wondered where Jungwon was going.

“Why didn’t she heal this time?” Jungwon asked. “How does it not happen with all injuries?”

“Maybe she can only heal from vampire bites,” Niki suggested.

“No,” Taehyun said, walking up to them. “It’s not just from vampire bites.”

“She will heal from any injury caused by something supernatural,” Daniel added, following Taehyun.

“Why are you here?” Sunghoon snarled.

“This is a family event,” Daniel smiled. “I came to visit my little brother and see what all the fuss is about.”

“Isn’t this just wonderful,” Heeseung sighed.

“Don’t be angry because you guys don’t have any family that wants to visit you,” Changmin interrupted.

“The party is just getting started boys,” Hyunjun added, following Changmin.

“What are you doing here?” Jungwon asked. “You were expelled from this school.”

“I was but today I’m visiting with my little brother,” Hyunjun smiled, messing up Changmin’s hair. “What’s wrong? Scared to have real competition?”
