lol I love this

Imagine this.

You’re chilling in your room, probably messing around on your guitar when your dad calls you into the living room.

When you get there you see a number of your family members - mostly your annoying half-siblings but a few more distant realizes, all gathered around arguing. Your dad turns to you and says “your sisters’s best friend is stranded and she wants to go pick him up”

You pause because what? You sister doesn’t really do friends, and you’re pretty sure she broke contract with her last so-called bestie. But sure whatever, you’ve never met the dude.

“And?” You prompt because you could working on a new song right now.

“What are your thoughts?” Your dad asks and oh shit- you don’t even remember this guy’s name and now you have to have an opinion on him???

You’re Apollo from epic the musical btw

Sharing so that more people can see this because I wanna see this made too

hear me out

God Games. Hephastus part

Hes working on something, facing away from Athena. Gets frustrated. Throws it behind him. Athena catches it during her part, fiddles with it a bit, turns it upside down, BAM, it's a lifelike mechanical owl that flutters its wings and cocks its head. Hephaestus takes it back.

"Fine. Release him"

Hephaestus then has that owl on his shoulder at the end in the background of Athena and Zeus fight.

Can we have this please weekend im begging u. Tag anyone who could make this into a wipe or animatic.

Please.

Wisdom Saga is taking over my brain 😂 I wanna tall about God Games for a second. I LOVE the difference between all of the gods so much.

Apollo is really just vibing. Set up an easy out for his half-sister because he really has no beef with Ody.

Hephaestus is mildly annoyed, and tries but realizes that the quicker he agrees, the quicker his half-sister will move on and allow him to return to his work.

Aphrodite is really one of two that I think was initially dead set on disagreeing. But I think everyone could see the argument from Athena coming a mile away; regardless of the broken hearts, deep down he was doing this all for the love of his life and his son. What could be more romantic? Then adding in Ares' reluctant agreement, she conceded.

Ares can't stand a coward, but he loves bloodshed even more. His view of what war should be differs from Athena's, but he can recognize that she's right. If he's released to return home and find his palace in the state that it is, blood will flow and heads will row. (I am impossibly excited for King).

Hera wants an underdog, and she practically leads Athena to her winning argument. I don't think she knows what it'll be, but she knows how convincing she can be and wants her to do well. And she does.

And for Zeus. I have seen a lot of people complain that his reaction was out of character for his portrayal so far, but I disagree. Up to now, we've only seem him succeed. This is the first time we've seen him loose, and his reaction to me is pretty on par for how a powerful sore loser would react.

Obviously not commenting on the religious gods themselves, or any other rendition of them other than EPIC, but damn do I love the wiring for this rendition!

Me at some point with a high fever: what those really were Helios' cows and Apollo is in God Games because Ody burned down Troy... Apollo's the god of music, what if a siren told him about Ody since they're singers and technically under his domain. . . What kind if fever trip am I on?

Literally a day later: no fucking way.

I can't get over how (intentionally) brilliant the lines from God Games are.

Apollo [I]

Athena apeals both to his reason ("they tried to do him worse") and his personal priorities ("the'yll thread with caution first", "sing another verse") as the god of arts, giving him both a solid argument and a scapegoat so he doesn't seem to shallow

Hephaistos [II]

Hephaistos is bothered by Odysseus betrail, and one of the most popular story's he is involved in is the betrail through Aphrodite's infidelity (she's his wife, in some versions), and being thrown from the Olymp becourse he was too 'ugly', only regaining respect for his craftsmanship.

Plus the wordgames!! ('trust is forged' and 'build a future')

(((Also, his voicing(?) just perfect. He seems to heave, and the voice sound a little mechanic? which could be playing into the disabillity he is sometimes portrayed to have)))

Aphrodite [III]

She hold a grudge against Odysseus for breaking his mothers heart, showing both her petty side and portraying her as a godess of all love. Additionally, we can't forget that this was shortly after the Trojan war, which she technically started by winnig a competition against Athena and Hera, so there is definitly bad blood between the two. (Still, a little dissapointing)

Ares [IV]

Brilliant! Part!

Ares and Athena are both rivals as the god of war and the godess of (battle) strategie, and their connection is portrayed perfectly by her challenging chant of his name at the beginning of his part!

He also doesn't really cares a lot more about the 'cowordly' tactics of Odysseus (Athena), which lessen the brutality and bloodshed of war. The vocalisation of ["didn't even TRY TO KILL SKYLLA"] is just *chefs kiss* (Still, he is a god of the people, and of armies and rebellion as a whole, so it makes sense for him to rafe at Odysseus betrail rather than the groups.

[Hera] V

Hera just Rocked

The motherly vibes, the royal tone. (One person on Tumblr said Athena listed traits of Zeus ["He's kind of funny","Eh"] to make Hera think of him before delivering the last (and first) blow, which sound plausible, but idk) There is not much to say, so straight toooo

Zeus [+I]

I think it's safe to say Athena knew (or at least guessed) her father woudn't be satisfied if he won. Zeus is made to portray a King, and those are predictable and prideful. She must have known beforehand he would let her 'play a game' or challenge something of her, and that he would be able to take that hit to his pride.

I think she gambeled that, while he coudn't just balantly favour her, or let her hurt his pride, a begging, (maybe half dead) daughter would be enough for his role to allow him to take mercy on her.

(Especally when all the other important gods are present)

(Not saying that he knew what she was up to, that guy definitly shat on her when he fired that lightning.)
