“You are wrong and you know it, you’re just too stubborn to admit it!” Kwangsoo yelled at me, making everyone around us to turn and look at us.

“Kwangsoo. We’re in public. Everyone is staring.” I told him firmly in a quiet voice and he let a huge groan, before standing up.

“I don’t care! Just admit it! You. Were. Wrong.” He yelled.

-------

Kwangsoo, my boyfriend, and I decided to sit at a quiet pub, a new place and since it wasn’t really known yet, it was the perfect opportunity.

Earlier this evening, I had gone out to buy a few clothes I had my eye on, but I didn’t think about telling my boyfriend about it. We don’t live together, we didn’t have plans, so it’s not like he would realize I’m not home.

Though, he thought I was obligated to let him know, because he showed up at my house to pick me up and I wasn’t there and he got furious. He just assumed I was home and just went over at my house. He was knocking my door for an hour, also asking every neighbor about me, at least once.

“I just went out without telling you, you’re not my mom, you don’t have to know where I am 24/7. You could have just called and asked, instead of making all my neighbors think I’m crazy for dating a guy like you.” I also raised my voice this time and Kwangsoo’s eyes widened, as I’m usually quiet.

“A guy like you!? I’m just a worried boyfriend, but apparently your ass doesn’t seem to appreciate it! Let’s just break up, you don’t even care anyway!” He yelled and I think that’s when the people working at the pub had enough, because two waiters appeared behind Kwangsoo and dragged him out, leaving me there, staring at him go.

The waiters soon appeared back to my booth, thankfully they didn’t want to kick me out to, and I told them I didn’t plan on talking to him and that I just wanted to order something for myself.

The pub wasn’t that full, but there were enough people to make me feel that I was being stared at by everywhere.

A group of 4 friends right next to me, two women and two men shot me apologetic looks as if to say that they understand me.

Pff, I don’t need your pity.

Then, another group, but this time, 7 men, were looking at me, but they tried not to stare to not make me feel bad.

I sat there for an hour, staring at the ceiling and occasionally taking a sip from my beer, when I decided I’ve had enough.

I paid for my drink and quickly visited the bathroom to check my, most likely, horrible appearance.

And it was true, I had been playing with my hair without even realizing, most of my lipstick eaten, from me biting my lip to keep myself from sobbing. And when I, finally, glanced at my eyes on my reflection, I lost it and started sobbing in the pub’s smelly bathroom.

After a while I heard the door open and someone getting in. They gasped when they saw me on the floor.

“Are you, are you crying?” The man asked softly and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.

I wiped my tears with the backs of my hands and looked up at the man, recognizing him as one of the group of seven men.

“I’m fine.” I said and started standing up. I looked at my reflection again, my mascara running down my cheeks, my lipstick all over the place. I was in a worse condition than what I had walked in.

“No, you’re not and it’s fine not being fine. Look, we weren’t eavesdropping, but you also weren’t that quiet, but we all agree that you were right. You really shouldn’t cry about this. Does this man really deserve your tears?” He said in a calming voice, while wiping some of the mascara, trying to make me look more normal again.

“No, I guess he doesn’t.” I let out, and pulled some make up wipes out of my bag to clean my face off of the make-up.

“Hey, if you were my sister, do you know what I could ask you when you were crying?” He said and eagerly waited for my response.

“Where is this guy, so I could beat his ass?” I let out confused at the man’s randomness.

“No, I could ask you, are you having a crisis? Hahaha, get it? A cry, sis. Hahaha, I’m so funny, wow, this was great, good job me.” He said and started laughing loudly, the sound echoing in the small room. His squeaky laugh, matching my own, as we started laughing hysterically at each other’s laugh.

“Oh man, that was so funny, I’m so great, wow.” The man said and managed to stop laughing, as I did the same.

“Ah, wow, that was indeed really funny. I’m (y/n), by the way.” I said and held out my hand for a handshake.

“I’m Jin, wor-, Jin, for Seokjin.” He said and blushed mid-sentence.

“What did you want to say? ‘wor-’ what?” I asked and he blushed even harder.

“It’s a joke I usually make with my group, I say I’m worldwide handsome, because I’m really handsome.” He explained and I giggled at his half embarrassed-half confident self.

“Wow, well, Jin, thank you so much for being here for me, you’re a great and handsome man,” I said emphasizing the ‘handsome’, to joke with him and he blushed, but tried to shrug it off with an ‘I know’.

“But, seriously, I’m glad I got to tell you my thoughts, because my brothers and I have been talking about this and we all wished we could tell you how toxic he was and how you don’t deserve this.” Jin said in all seriousness.

“Thank you, it means so much and you actually helped me realize I was stupid for getting sad about it. He doesn’t deserve it.” I said and he nodded along.

The door opened and another man from Jin’s group of friends walked in.

“Ah, Jin hyung there you are, we were worried about what’s taking you so long. Oh hi!” The man said having a bright smile when greeting me.

“Aren’t you-” He pointed at me and both Jin and I cut him off with a yes, his hand slowly falling by his side.

“How about you come sit with us for a while? Unless you wanna go home?” Jin asked me and I turned to look at the other man, who nodded, his eyes practically begging be to say yes.

“I don’t see why not.” I said with a smile and let Jin and the man, who turned out to be named Hoseok, to lead me to their table, five pairs of eyes looking at me, but they all quickly helped me get comfortable, moving around and making some space for me.

“Everybody! Shots! Cheers to (y/n)!” Jin yelled and the six guys echoed him, me giggling, while we all drank, Jin waiting for us so he could do his ‘special trick’ with his shot, the rest of us clapping (BAKSU) for him and him enjoying the attention.

We stayed there until late, talking, laughing, and drinking. Jin and I exchanged phone numbers and promised to meet each other soon.

If only more people like Jin existed…
