Furheart Iiah - Tumblr Posts
~ ~ She passed through the curtain of mystery and disappeared ~ ~ A little thing I did over CTN. I was going to post it when it was finished, but then, I never finished it.... XD; So! Here it is. I was planning on giving it a touch up via PS, but I took one look at it and went... nah, I think it’s good for now. XD;
Today's plant! I struggled with how to reinterpret my 2009 design. I still might make a separate plant based off another design I thought of for this plant, but for now... keep reading for more!
Furheartia
The namesake of the continent, Furheart Iiah. It only grows there, but some cultivation attempts have resulted in greener leaves. Flora that grow in Furheart Iiah tend to become pink or tinged pink from the mist that blows in from the surrounding water, which makes the sky and everything else appear pink as well. When the plants that grow on Furheart Iiah are cultivated in foreign soil, they tend to take on greener colors depending on the location. The leaves of the Furheartia plant are beloved for tea, especially if they are imported from their native land, where they maintain a sweet but mellow, calming flavor.
Kokohané Tangalia
The sticky strings on the ends of the leaves often get tangled in the wind. Kokohané Tangalias are only found in Furheart Iiah, and are prized for their leaves. They are used to create teas with properties like no other. Drinking Kokohané Tangalia tea often leaves one with the feeling of staring up at a starry sky. For that reason, Kokohanés are also referred to as Stellanas.
In addition to being used to create their own tea, they are also an ingredient used in other special teas to enhance their properties.
Pinkheart Tuftoa
Thought to be related to the cloudflowers of Sky Buddy World, the Pinkheart Tuftoa may have adapted to grow low to the ground due to the fact it grows in central Furheart Iiah, away from most free-flowing water sources and depending largely on being able to gather water from the mist that always surrounds the continent and from the occasional drizzle. This might also explain the recess in its middle, low to the ground closest to the roots where the water it gathers can nearly touch the roots already.
Cotton from the Pinkheart Tuftoa is highly sought after among Fashion Buddys, though it usually needs to be processed first before use as the plain cloud-like material is usually very soggy due to its spongy nature, another feature that comes in handy in its natural environment.
When dried out, though, the cloud-like material floats on its own, which can make for some ethereal, sky-themed looks especially popular among Fashion Buddys with ties to or lineage from Sky Buddy World.
Using Pinkheart Tuftoa cotton for stuffing pillows and the like is generally not recommended unless one would like for the objects in question to float away in the night. It usually needs to be processed into a heavier form for use in objects that are not meant to float away.
Rakarai Akalia
The leaves of the plant have a spicy, herbal flavor that is very popular in Wing Alaynan cooking. While they can be found naturally in Furheart Iiah, they adapt well to artificial environments too and can be found in the Queen's garden as well.
Hariana Tuftoa
A species of Hariana found in Furheart Iiah. They are much softer than their Fulinean counterparts, who have stiffer, more petal-like bristles than their Furheartian counterparts. Because of this difference in texture, it is sometimes argued that they are in fact not a Hariana at all, but much more closely related to something like the Gloagli Lavilav, with its thin, curled stems and hanging flowers. It has thus been proposed to be renamed the Furheartian Tuftoa, but as it also has many differences from other Tuftoas growing in Furheart Iiah as well, even its second name has also been thrown into question. So it is still up for debate whether it should be classified under the Harianan or Tuftoan family, or even one closer to the Gloagli Lavilav due to their similarities.
Nomenclature aside, Hariana Tuftoa 'fur' is quite popular with Fashion Buddys, especially those who travel and need warmer coverings against the sailing winds.
Ranrinia Triplana
The large base leaves of the plant are sometimes used to create a sweet, refreshing tea. However, since only a small portion of the leaves are needed to make the tea, it is rare to see all of the leaves plucked, though they may sometimes be missing pieces.
Despite being a rain-gathering plant, Ranrinias do not prefer heavy rainfall, closing up when they receive too much. They are generally pretty good at weathering the harsher storms, however.
The water Ranrinias gather is so clear and nutritious that small plants can grow in it. It is the best for keeping cut flowers vibrant and healthy.
While occasionally spotted throughout central Wing Alayna, it is also known to grow in Warminia Songlianne, and a variant of it can be found in Furheart Iiah as well.
Wooo, caught up today! Second one's a bit impressionistic... Not sure if leveling it helped or made it worse. Welp! Onto the info.
Darania Aquabulla
Found in the shallower areas of the Great Buddy Lake and areas of equal depth in the calmer parts of the Great Buddy River. Like its relatives, the Darania Aquabulla grow rather fast from seed and begin growing their fruit. They tend to grow in units of four, but may often grow more or less. Their aquabulla fruits detach easily from their stem and float to the surface. Taste-wise, Darania Aquabulla fruits are known for their floral overtone and are a beloved medium for tea.
Busha Blosomas with Vina Heartias
A bushy, low-growing flower that tends to grow in groves with Vina Heartia vines on Furheart Iiah. So far not much is known about them, but they make quite nice decorations. They are often associated with the sea, as they must be imported from Furheart Iiah if one wants to see them in Wing Alayna. They are said to carry the memories of the sailors they've been with and the journeys they've been on.
Despite being native to a warm environment, Busha Blosomas adapt fairly well to cooler weather. That said, they don't take well to northern Wing Alayna soil, but there has been some success growing them on the south side of the Great Buddy Mountains where they can receive some shelter from the rain.
Vina Heartias are one of Furheart Iiah's signature plants, along with the Furheartia plant. It is unclear what their relationship with Busha Blosomas are or why they are found to be growing near or around them. It is thought they have something of a symbiotic relationship, but the details are unclear. They do, however, have similar preferences, with the caveat that Vina Heartias are much more finicky about their environment. With effort they can be grown in Wing Alayna, but due to various environmental factors, Vina Heartias grown there will be green.
Furheartian Varia Maria
A simple flower found to be growing in Furheart Iiah. Its bright pink stems are reminiscent of Vina Heartias, leading some to believe they are related.
Varia Marias come in a large variety of shapes and adapt to their environment. As a result, many flowers by the Varia Maria name look nearly nothing alike despite their documented ancestry. Due to how different they look, they are sometimes given native names and their status as a Varia Maria becomes separate.
Identifying a flower as a Varia Maria always starts with hearing from the locals about the flower's ancestry. Other than the fact that Varia Marias are always small, there is often very little linking any given small flower to the Varia Maria family, but beliefs about them abound. It was once thought that there was only one Varia Maria per continent, but this was later discovered to be untrue. That said, their adaptations seem to be linked to the area that they grow in, and some types of Varia Maria can be quite rare.
The Furheartian Varia Maria in particular is deceptively rare; it has the look of a very common flower, or like it might be a hybrid of a Vinia Heartia and some other plant. And while it isn't confirmed whether or not it has mixed ancestry, there is a reason that it was thought to be the only one on the continent for a long time.
Karakaramiin Riifu
A plant found on islands near Furheart Iiah. Another variety grows on the continent as well, but it bears more cottony tufts and is a lighter pink. Attempts have been made to cultivate the plant in Wing Alaynan soil, but they have been largely unsuccessful thus far. The plant is quite popular with Neonyas and Kitonyas especially, having a mild hyperactive effect on them. The flowers have something of a nutty taste to them, and may cause Buddys to feel snackish and want more of them, but otherwise does not have quite the same effect on them. The leaves have a watery, much milder nut taste to them, a bit like water chestnuts. The roots produce tubers much like water chestnuts as well. The plant makes for a very popular house plant if its needs can be properly attended to, even for non-pet owners who also don't particularly care for the taste of the plant. That said though, it needs to be kept in a capsule that imitates its native climate, and such technology is only found in the Queen's Palace, so it can be a bit of a hassle for potential owners to obtain the means to properly care for one.
