Ok so today I was on the bus with another trans guy and we were talking about how hard it is to get testosterone. The waiting lists, the price, all the doctors you have to go to, that kind of stuff. Except, we were calling it ’T’, like you do when you’re both closeted and in public.

Then suddenly the elderly lady sitting behind us was like ‘young men, either I’m going crazy or you both have never heard of supermarkets, they have shelves full of tea there! Do you need directions to one?’

To which my buddy starts to explain, because why not. ‘Well you see, we’re both trans, and… ’

The lady didn’t wait for him to finish his sentence. ‘Oh no, I don’t mind that at all! Now do you want to know how to get to a place that sells tea? I’m actually heading there right now!’

We let her take us to the supermarket. We let her show us, excitedly, where the tea was. We both bought loads.

theres actually no rules to transitioning and youre allowed to want contradictory things for your transition. it's fine if you only want some of the changes that come with hrt and take preventative measures for the rest (like wanting bottom growth but not body hair or vice versa). you can want to have vagina AND a dick. you can be a woman and want top surgery, or wear a packer. you can be a man and want to have a pussy. you can change your transition goals one or a million times or not have any goals at all and just take things as they come or as they feel right.

there are no rules.

message for girls: you can be a boy too. you dont have to stop being a girl to be a boy. if you dont want to be a girl you can stop, but you can also keep being a girl and be a boy at the same time. you can be a trans man and still be a woman if you want. if your womanhood is real to you and not just an imitation of what you think you're supposed to be doing, the way a lot of trans men describe, you can keep doing womanhood and just start doing manhood alongside it. and even if yours is an imitation you can keep it forever if you want to, if it is dear to you, you do not have to give it up to be valid.

and btw if your womanhood is hard-won and you feel like any hint of manhood is a threat to your validity, you can still have both things if you want both of them. you can be a trans woman and also a man if you wanna. you don't have to but if you want to, you can.

also no matter what kind of womanhood you have you can stop doing it whenever you need to. including if your womanhood is sincere and genuine btw. and it doesnt have to mean you were never a woman. you can do whatever you want forever i love you

Two photos of the same person from the collar up. They are East Asian, have medium-length straight brown hair, and wear glasses.
On the left: They are wearing a white top with a pink sweater over it, and a silver necklace. Their hair is down to their shoulders. They have on dark pink lipstick and some eyeliner. They are wearing an earring and have a pink flower in their hair.
On the right: They are wearing a red button up. Their hair is pulled back into a ponytail.

Marlo also interviewed Meredith Lee/Derek Moo who identifies as "dual gender." They have been out publicly for six years, and in "various semi-private spaces" for up to 20 years. "I pretty much live openly as either presentation, and it seems to work. I go to work as either Meredith or Derek. My kids are fine, my kids are almost adults. All of my family knows, all of my relatives know," they say. "The software company I work for has been pretty proactive in terms of the whole diversity and inclusion thing. I was the first openly trans person in the company, to my knowledge. "When I first presented as Merri, it was at one of the Christmas parties, which is the classic way to do it, right? Might as well wear a dress to the party!"

from this article about trans and gender-diverse elders in Australia. I just love hearing about older multigender people so much <3

"I've been thinking recently about the first ever trans space I was ever actually a part of, Bigender.net. My experience was primarily with these forums in ~2009, but I came back to peek in later years, and am trying to regain access now. There's a lot of bigender cultural things there that would probably never be known about or archived somewhere easily accessible unless someone talked about what they saw there, and I wanted to share some things.

+ A Lot of people used two or more names that they switch up, use in different contexts, and that often align with specific genders. Names are essentially changed like pronouns are for many people.

+ Most bigender people seemed to experience some kind of fluidity or flux of gender, and it was rarer for people to feel like 100% both at all times. This seems to be more often where people label themselves androgynes.

+ The language of "en femme" and "en homme" was used to describe both how one was presenting (similar to the modern boymoding/girlmoding) and to how one felt their gender on a specific day, which is what makes it different from girlmode/boymode. It wasn't just about presentation regardless of gender, but presentation as related to gender.

+ Plurality became so common over the years as a framework of bigender expression that a whole subforum for plurality emerged on these forums. Lots of plural bigender folks would experience having a "girl side" and a "boy side" in a dual system.

+ There were just as many bigender folks who experienced a neutral/other/middle gender experience besides just being male/female. It really wasn't limited to 2 genders, even if at the time it was very male/female bigender focused."

This Is Fluidthing Or Fluxthing. The Fluid Counterpart To Boything, Girlthing, And Nonbinarything.

this is fluidthing or fluxthing. the fluid counterpart to boything, girlthing, and nonbinarything.

definition;

1; a gender identity in which one feels both a connection to being fluid and a disconnection to personhood.

2. a xenogender identity in which ones gender is related to being fluid (boy, girl, enby, other) and a thing.

some pronouns that go well with this identity;

it/it/its/its/itself

thing/thing/things/things/thingself

object/object/objects/objects/objectself

--

hey check out an identity i made for myself a couple months ago. pretty lazy cause it's just a combination of Boything, girlthing, and nonbinarything, but I like it.

i... THINK I'm genderfluid? Like, I read this fanfic and I didn't realize it was male reader and dear God the way being referred to with he/him pronouns make me feel just OOOO but at the same time I still wanna be she/her but I KNOW for a fact I'm not she/her, if anything I'm she/they (as I've previously stated) and I might be wrong about all this but really all of those pronouns just feel so right

ok so now that finnster's come out as genderfluid and started taking hrt can we stop trying to force people to choose labels and define their identity. everyone's always talking about support for queer people with unconventional presentations and identities but when someone's not sure about what their gender identity actually is they get criticized for it. finn said in his video that part of the reason why he took so long with coming out was because he wasn't sure what label actually applied to him (and he still isn't even sure if genderfluid feels like the right label for him) and the debate surrounding it was making him uncomfortable. which kind of sucks tbh. idk i dont like how much identity policing ive seen around them it feels like people just aren't comfortable with 'weird' gender presentation

Trans men are not an oppressor class 👍 if you’re so blinded by your own hatred towards us that you genuinely believe we oppress you and don’t experience unique problems and oppression of our own that trans women don’t then you need to do some serious soul searching. Trans men are not an oppressor class nor share the same level in society as cis men because we are trans. Stop demonizing transmascs and ignoring our problems. Send tweet

genders are not “pink barbie doll” or “gigantic blue tractor” they are “does this make me look like a bitch” and “does this smell like sweat”

and thus, ladies and gentlemen, i am genderfluid
