Great question!
Pebble’s origins have yet to be revealed but is in the process of being written in a short. Without revealing much, Pebble was a gift from a child passenger after a particularly hard day for the red engine. This is WAY before Camille.
At first, James wasn’t too fond of Pebble and kept her just to be nice but after a while he found great comfort in the little rhino. He originally thought he should have something more grand like a cheetah, because he’s fast like them.
Another fun tidbit, if you’ve read the fanfic, James immediately found Edward after discovering that Camille and Gordon had brought the rhino’s to the animal park and they spent a good part of the day there.
Might “Poison Ivy” have something to do with Henry?

You came at just the right time too because I’ve been feeling a bit down and out about my fic as of late. Not that I don’t enjoy writing it or that I don’t love it, I absolutely do, but my recent chapter has had little to no comments and because I put an intimate scene (the first I’ve ever published and I was nervous about it) I’ve honestly been thinking of taking the chapter down and rewriting some of the elements.
