You know the argument for gun control is bull by the fact that they haven't started expanding public transportation. Cars are dangerous, expensive to regulate, bad for the environment, make it easier for criminals to do crimes, ect.
So if we can get rid of guns then pay the police more to protect us then why can't we get rid of cars and have public transportation?
I think the same reason during the great depression they stopped Corn farmers from making automobile fuel and someone who makes $100 a year still has to pay income tax.

The government caused Al Capones death due to negligence in the prison he was held, a crime that is still a feature of the penal system to this day,
