If Clerval heard Victor screaming from inside his “lab” he’d lean against the door and go “hey whatever it is did you forget to plug it in”, but if Utterson heard Jekyll screaming from his laboratory he’d start knocking on the door VERY LOUDLY and wouldn’t stop until Jekyll let him in, and honestly that’s beautiful.
