just a lil reference sheet for Ben probably not the final but hey ya never know. I’ll most likely be doing this for the other 5 main characters Gwen Lucy scarlet cooper and lux so prepare for some samey-ness( not a word but idk how else to describe it without sounding boring) I’ll obviously try to differentiate them as I much as I can but just a warning.

@secretglitterbluebird I doubt that he did the necklace himself. When he handed her the gift, he was still mutated and beforehand, he wasn't able to morph/liquefy the materials he'd absorb. I assume that he bought it from a jewerly store though since I believe that it's made out of gold too. It indirectly shows how much respect he has for her

(It would have been interesting if he would have handed her a necklace made out of taedenite though, to be a call back to Kevin's big score or his mutated form. Unlike the gold one, that one really would have been made from him / represent his gratitude towards her in a different light. It would have implied him carving the gem into a shape similar to an oval/circle/sphere/whatever it could have been. It would have been a fun metaphor to have the taedenite exterior which covers the interior/image of human!Kevin.

With the canon's locket, he may have inserted that picture in himself lol, it'd be cute to imagine him struggling to get it in there but he does it anyways because he treasures Gwen sm😭

Also, Gwen's gift is meaningful as well because it implies as well - well, effort !! She may have had to carve some of them herself / get someone to help her out with making them

I tried to put a lot of thought into him /his appearance. The eyebrow really was just a moment of weakness for me. It's the least thought out of detail out of them =)))

Edit: it isn't drawn, but this Kev also has fangs. I thought a couple of times how he may speak in a way which wouldn't require opening his mouth too much just so ppl wouldn't see them/ attract unwanted attention for numerous reasons

It's actually funny that I put even more thought into Gwen's prom design, considering how plain canon's interpretation was

(Hint: I gave both her and Kev something matchy for them to wear at the prom *chuckles*)

Well, the changes done here are all explained in my AU version of him but to cut it brief/ a bit spoiler-free:

I imagine that when he got to Gwen's place to pick her up with his usual hairstyle and she helped him out with his hair. So he'd look all stylish / be able to not have his hair into his eyes.

As you can see, his ears and features in general are sharper. Those are choices done in order to give him individuality from the Tennysons' general appearances from canon. Also because I find them cool !

Also other reasons which are related to my re-imagining of osmosians' features in general.

I believe that at first, he'd be unsure over the hairstyle change because his ears would be even more noticeable.

I see Gwen reassuring him that his ears are fine and that he shouldn't be ashamed of what he is (he's still half alien in the AU). In the end, he sees that he slays the hairstyle and keeps it for the night

Those 2 locks of hair which remained on his forehead are just- shorter strands from the front of his hairline which didn't stick right at the back.

Also, he's hiding something underneath his hair.

Gwen takes notice of that but won't push that on him that night. He'll probably talk about it when he's ready

During my eves I binged entire Ben 10 series from original series to Omniverse. It felt good to relive my childhood memories growing up along with this cartoon and how much these two idiots meant to me as a teen. [Re-posting bc I saw so many mistakes I couldn't just leave it be.]

In the original Ben 10 series, Gwen was very headstrong, very logical, arguably self absorbed, thought she was better than everybody else, and was incredibly prone to holding grudges. In AF/UA, she's character assassinated into being just the girl character, being the team mother, falling in love with and having a relationship with a boy who quite literally tried to kill her before, being forgiving and understanding in all situations, and always being right, NONE of which is anything like her original personality. In particular, her dating the boy that tried to kill her would have NEVER flown. She quite literally would have rather tried to kill him. She would have never forgiven him.

Propaganda

I cannot stress enough that Gwen would have NEVER forgiven Kevin (her UAF boyfriend) for trying to kill her and Ben, would NEVER have wanted to date him, would NEVER have even wanted to be his FRIEND. She also would NEVER become the team mother, and she would take every chance she had to show off how she was right and perfect and how much everybody else sucked. She would NOT be the empathetic one, she would NOT be the loving one, she would NOT be the understanding one, she would go batshit. She would go insane. She would rip people to shreds with her teeth and she would cheer on anybody for wanting to kill people.

I think about that “treat a car how you treat q woman” scene everyday and everyday I think about how os Gwen would’ve agreed 100% (not every day but I do think about the difference between os gwen and af gwen a lot)

gwevin would have been so much better if gwen retained her love for doohickies and complicated science machinery from ogs.... she looks at that microscope with adoration she doesnt have for her own parents. she would have totally gotten the 'treat a car like you treat a woman' thing. shes got a little heart shaped locket tucked under her shirt and inside is a picture of her ibm. she would love all of his gadgets and shit and fully endorse spending so much money on them he doesnt have money for housing

Gwen Tennyson Barbie

My interpretation of Lucky Girl pulling from various costumes over the years. It's my love letter to one of the most iconic ladies in western animation. I want it to be the ULTIMATE celebration of her history while still keeping it fresh and new.

The sleek black suit of the classic with the charms of bezel seen on adult gwen. The ponytail and pants was based on the suit design from UA. The purple skin and hair is based on Omniverse.

For and added sci fi touch I use Lagoona's hydration station for the stand. It's common for companies to reuse parts. Giving the illusion of flight. So magical! I couldn't decide which hair looks best so I figured maybe a swap option, like how older barbies used to have wigs.

Another source for my doll comes from the DC barbies.

Since im a huge fan of superheroes and Barbie has collabed before it wouldn't be far off for a barbie based on ben 10. I wanted my gwen to look strong and determined, looking like she's about to sass off a villain! XD

Au where Ben’s family adopts Albedo Headcanons

This is just a random idea I got. What if Albedo was adopted by the Tennysons as part of his punishment?

Azmuth decided to punish Albedo by turning him into a 10-year old version of Ben AND have him getting adopted into the Tennyson Family.

Because of his hatred towards the Tennysons, Albedo was greatly upset by this but he’s not the only one.

Ben, Gwen and Grandpa Max greatly disagreed since they didn’t trust the Galvan in human skin as well but Azmuth doesn’t care.

Ben and Gwen argued over who’s parents will adopt Albedo. Ben ended up the unlucky loser.

Albedo can’t use the Ultimatrix unless both Azmuth and Ben use the voice command to let him.

Carl and Sandra, Ben’s parents, warmed up to Albedo immediately despite Albedo clearly wanting nothing to do with them.

They both know about what he did but they were willing to give him a chance.

He mostly stays in the room he was given to just invent stuff, try to hack the Ultimatrix or plot his revenge. Or all three.

Ben’s parents would hold family bonding activities to try and get closer to Albedo but he always declines.

As part of his punishment, Albedo is forced to help Ben’s Team on missions or his Ultimatrix would shock him. It’s very painful.

He mostly handles checking on their equipment or hacking. He does occasionally get permission to use his Ultimatrix but he immediately loses access if he tries to turn on the team due to the voice command function.

After several months of isolation from the Tennysons, Sandra finally decided that enough was enough. She slammed Albedo’s door open and FORCED him to participate in family bonding.

Albedo was about to decline again but decided against it when he saw how mad Sandra was.

The bonding activity that night was video games and Albedo got to choose.

He showed slight interest in a game the Tennysons recently bought called World War Z so they played it.

Albedo immediately enjoyed the game within the first three minutes. Most of it may or may not have been because he kept killing Ben via friendly fire.

Afterwards, Sandra let Albedo decide what they should eat. Albedo, being Albedo, said chili fries.

Several bonding activities later, Albedo actually grew fond of Ben’s parents though he would never say it out loud.

Mood during missions are also better since Albedo is more willing to help.

Ben and Gwen are still cautious of Albedo but they are willing to hang out with him.

When hanging out with Ben, they usually go to Mr. Smoothies (“I still think it tastes like feet”), mess around with Plumber tech, play video games or prank people.

When hanging out with Gwen, Albedo would usually help her with assignments. Gwen often takes Albedo to the library to check out books.

Albedo is especially fond of the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series. Don’t tell anyone though.

All in all, Albedo comes to realize the Tennysons aren’t all that bad. He still wants revenge but at least he’ll feel a little guilty and regretful when he gets it.

Benrex Headcanons

This is tied in with my Albedo Tennyson Au. Just thought you guys should know.

Ben and Rex actually didn’t develop feelings for each other until Breach (a girl from Rex’s world) tore a dimensional portal into Ben’s world.

With some help from Paradox, Rex came to Ben’s world and the two reunite.

After cornering Breach, she told them she was bored and wanted to try exploring a different reality.

Paradox proceed to explain how dimensions and realities are actually different things entirely.

Deciding to catch up, Rex agreed to stay as long as Breach promised to go back to their world afterwards. She promised.

Rex got formally introduced to Ben’s grandpa and cousin and adopted brother along with several of his friends like Rook, Julie and Kevin.

Ben decided to show Rex around Bellwood and the squad decided to join in since they had time to spare.

After visiting several tourist sites in Bellwood, the two males slowly develop feelings for one another.

The squad quickly picked on the budding romance and decided to leave early to give them alone time.

Deciding to take a break at the park, the two of them decided to tell stories of things like their childhood, how they got their powers and the hardships they faced. This only strengthened their affections.

Sadly it was time for Rex and Breach to leave so Ben and the squad decided to bid farewells.

Ben was upset. The one person in the entire multiverse who understood him, aside from himself, was leaving and who knows when they’ll see each other again.

When it was time to go, Ben and Rex exchanged a few tender words before Ben did something that shocked everyone except Paradox. He kissed Rex on the lips.

The reactions were instantaneous: Julie and Breach were squealing like a couple of fan girls, Rook looked away out of respect, Gwen looked like a mix between pride and embarrassment, and Albedo and Kevin were pretending to vomit. Oh, and Paradox still kept his blank face on.

The two of them admit that they didn’t want to see each other leave and even considered staying or leaving to stay in Rex’s world.

Paradox advised against it since both worlds need their respective heroes. However he did give each of them a device that lets them travel back and forth.

According to him, with Rex’s appearance into Ben’s world, the timeline has changed. Ben was no longer destined to be married to Kai Green. He can now choose his own future and who he loves.

The next several months of them dating mostly involved them going back and forth between their worlds and they would go on little adventures. Rex even introduced his ex-girlfriend Circe, best friend Noah, and his old gang to Ben.

Ben and Circe immediately got along despite the initial jealousy Ben had. They mostly bonded over embarrassing stories about Rex.

Holiday was both surprised and pleased when she met Ben again. Surprised he was back and pleased that he and Rex were together. The same applies to Six though he needed time to process their relationship.

Bobo was VERY shocked that Rex was dating a guy but he got over it. As long as his best bro was happy, he didn’t care!

Breach often tags along with Rex and she was quickly well-liked and accepted by the squad. Breach was really happy that she finally had a place with people were she belonged.

Rex and Albedo actually get along the best surprisingly. Albedo said it was because he made Ben “less intolerable than he usually is.”

Kevin was interested in his ability to change his body in machinery and wanted to try dismantling him. Rex mostly avoids him during hangouts.

Gwen and Rex get along decent though she did threaten him if he hurt Ben.

Rex and Julie get along for the same reason as Circe and Ben. They shared embarrassing stories about the holder of the Omnitrix

Rook and Rex got along civilly. However Rook actually told Rex in secret that he had feelings for Ben but saw how happy Rex made him so he decided to stay out of the way. Rook explained that he told Rex this so there wouldn’t be any future hostility or loathing between them.

Max and White Knight were able to keep in touch with one another and this began the alliance of the Plumbers and Providence.

Whenever something bad happens, alien or EVO, the Plumbers and Providence would always send each other backup via Ben and Rex.

All in all, things are pretty cool and wonderful between the two heroes and they couldn’t ask for more.
