“I can’t believe I agreed to this,” you mumbled under your breath as you shuffled behind Jake. You wanted to go out to ger your mind off of things, and now you were headed to a club where you’d meet Heeseung, the source of one of your many problems. At least it wasn’t Ethan, that was the tiny silver lining.
“It’ll be fine,” Sunghoon giggled as he linked an arm through yours. “Maybe a drink or two will loosen him up and he’ll be all over you then, I know you wore that dress to impress him.”
“Am I not allowed to just wear a nice dress because I want to?” You replied, a frown on your lips. You weren’t angry at Sunghoon for what he said, you were angry because he was right.
“Oh you can,” Jay piped up from your other side as he grabbed your hand. “But we all know you dressed up a little nicer than usual because of a certain someone.”
“Yeah well, I doubt he’ll even look my way,” you smiled sadly. You didn’t know why it hurt so bad to be rejected by Heeseung. Hell, you hadn’t even been rejected, he just ghosted you after one small conversation, it wasn’t that deep. But still, it was just your luck that the one guy you had wanted in a long time was the one guy who didn’t want you.
“He’d be a fool not to,” Jay said softly, kissing the side of your head. You appreciated your friends so much, you could always count on them to make you feel loved.
“The queue is so fucking long guys,” Jake whined, replacing Sunghoon to hang off your arm and lean his head on your shoulder. You smiled, letting go of Jay to ruffle Jake’s hair a little.
“It’s fine Jake, let Jay talk to them,” you gestured your best friend to go chat to the bouncers. “His dad probably owns like half of these clubs so we’ll get in easy.”
“I always forget he’s like the son of a famous CEO,” Sunghoon muses. “And look at him, getting a little internet fame for being the cock in a few of Y/N’s videos.”
Jay came back quickly, rolling his eyes and Sunghoon, “actually I’ve been the cock in like at least seven videos, put some respect on my name. I just got us in.”
Sunghoon changed up immediately, rushing to Jay’s side, “how can I ever thank you? I’ll clean your room for a month, I’ll cook for you, I’ll-”
“How about you stop leaving your dirty cum towels on the floor?”
“Moving on…” Sunghoon rushed away into the club, past the crowds of people trying desperately to get in. You and the other two stood there giggling, trying to compose yourselves before entering the high class place. It was a step up from what you usually went to, but it was nice, you knew you would have a good time here.
“Come on you,” Jake said, standing up straight and tugging your through the main doors. You held his hand tight, letting him lead you towards a room where you could hear music playing and the constant chatter of people around. It was more like a bar than a club, the music was a little softer so that it didn’t hurt your ears, and more people were standing around talking that dancing. You liked this a lot better.
“Where the fuck did Sunghoon go?” You mumbled, the three of you glancing around. He had a tendency to sneak off on nights out, but you were determined not to lose him this early.
“There he is!” Jay shouted over the music, pointing to the bar over in the corner of the room where Sunghoon sat chatting with a familiar pair. Sunoo and Heeseung.
Jake rushed over, leaving you and Jay standing on the other side of the room. Jay reached down to take your hand again, rubbing soft circles over your knuckles, “we don’t have to go over if you don’t want to.”
You wanted to cry, why were your friends so nice to you? But you wanted to stay, the worst that could happen was that Heeseung would continue to ignore you, and you had already dealt with those emotions already.
“No it’s ok,” you turned to Jay with a small smile, squeezing his hand. “I can be civil, plus Sunoo is cool, I want to hang out with him too.”
Jay smiled proudly, tugging you in for a quick hug before pulling away completely. If you were paying attention, you’d have noticed the way Heeseung glanced over at you multiple times, watching the exchange. His hand was wrapped tightly around his glass, but he willed himself to relax. You and Jay are just friends, he’d tell himself, he’s got no competition there.
“Hey guys,” you said as you joined the others at the bar. Sunoo greeted you with a small hug and a big smile, saying how happy he was to see you again. Heeseung just smiled, giving you a little wave in response. At least he wasn’t ignoring you.
On the inside, Heeseung was dying. You were so close to him but so far out of reach, he couldn’t touch you, he was Heeseung now not Ethan. And in his mind, you were only interested in him when he was Ethan, there was no room for Heeseung in your life. God, he was going to go insane if he kept thinking about this fucked up situation he’d gotten himself into. And it was all your fault, if he wasn’t so addicted to sending you money and getting unlimited attention as Ethan then maybe he’d be able to talk to you as Heeseung. It was all your fault, he wanted to hate you for that, but then his mind wondered to the dress you were wearing as if his money had paid for it. He was back to square one again. His fingers itched to grab his phone, open your payment screen and send away.
“How are you?” You asked him, bringing him out of his thoughts as you slid into the seat next to him. All the others had gone off to the dance floor, leaving the two of you at the bar nursing your drinks.
“I’m good,” he replied, voice strained. He couldn’t stop thinking about what underwear you might’ve been wearing under that dress. He needed to leave, he stood up abruptly but you beat him to it, matching his gestures and standing in front of him.
“You’re avoiding me,” you stated, narrowing your eyes. “Look, if I did something wrong then tell me, but please stop avoiding me. It’s making things awkward and I feel bad even though I have no idea why.”
“I’m not avoiding you,” Heeseung replied. He was so much taller than you that you had to take a step back, it was becoming intimidating.
“You definitely are, you ghosted me!” You whined a little, knowing it would usually get you what you want. But Heeseung stood strong, even if the voices in his head were screaming at him to break down and give you everything you wanted. Heeseung in real life was a lot stronger than Ethan.
“I’m sorry, I just don’t use my social media much,” he lied. He had all your notifications on. “It wasn’t intentional.”
“It wasn’t?” You asked quietly, cocking your head to the side a little.
“I promise it wasn’t,” he replied. Heeseung needed to get away for a moment, he was suffocating in your presence and he could feel sweat beading on his forehead. “Look, let me go to the bathroom quick then we can chat properly.”
You nodded, an embarrassed flush on your cheeks as you realised your actions may have been a little overdramatic. You stepped aside, slipping back into your chair as he rushed off, leaving his phone face up on the bar. You didn’t look at it, although the little voice in your head told you to take a snoop, but you just took note of it in case someone tried to steal it.
Taking your own phone out, you scrolled through twitter. Your dm’s were filled with requests for more content, more videos with Jay. There were unopened ones from Ethan, you’d turned off the notifications for them now as it clogged up your phone. Clicking the compose tweet button, you typed out a quick message to your followers.
‘Out drinking tonight, you guys should pay for my drinks 💓’
You finished the tweet off with a link to your payment methods and an outfit picture you’d taken earlier, hoping it would entice more people to pay. It usually worked like a charm, men loved sending you money to pay for things, whether it be for a new set of nails or a new outfit. They loved knowing they had bought it for you.
You hit the send tweet button, waiting a few seconds for it to publish. Locking your phone, you popped it down, noticing Heeseung’s phone light up with a notification at the same time. You frowned, looking around quickly before picking it up and taking a quick look.
‘@egirlfriend just posted a new tweet!’

(don't miss the written part beneath the texts!!)
You texted Heeseung that you were on your way home, just out of politeness and to see if he would hide away from you in the spare room like you'd told him to. You were still a little on edge, the line between Heeseung and Ethan was so blurred that it was hard to separate the two of them. But over text, Heeseung was, well, normal? He wasn't weirdly obsessive, he didn't say anything that made you uncomfortable. In fact, he was so different that you almost couldn't believe that him and Ethan were the same person all along.
Jay had dropped you home to your apartment block, lingering in his car outside until he made sure you were safe inside. He wasn't too keen on the idea at first, having you share your space with Heeseung, but knowing Jungwon was there and seeing how Heeseung had already matured in such a small amount of time, he felt a little less worried.
He didn't even know Jungwon but he seemed like a sweet kid, Sunoo had shown them all Jungwon's social media. He portrayed himself well, he was a university student at the school nearby and he adored his older brother. He did arts in his spare time and loved to dance. There was so much to love about Jungwon.
"Hello?" You called out into the apartment, dropping your bags on the floor as you kicked off your shoes. You could already see two other pairs of trainers tucked away nearly that weren't there when you left. It was quite sweet how they'd tucked the laces in the shoes so that they wouldn't be strewn around messily. You didn't notice the smile that crept it's way onto your face.
"Y/N-ssi?" You heard from the living room area before light footsteps made there way towards you. A boy a few years younger than you popped his head around the corner, wide eyes blinking up at you. Jungwon.
"Hi Jungwon," you smiled, hanging your jacket up. "Did you unpack everything ok?"
"Yeah! The room is so big, thank you so much!" He glanced down at the grocery bags by your feet, "let me help you."
Jungwon took over half the bags, carrying them to the kitchen whilst you trailed behind with a few in your arms. He set off straight away, putting away any items he could figure out the places for.
"You bought so much food Y/N-ssi, are you having a party?" He asked curiously, struggling to reach the top shelf of the fridge to put away some vegetables.
"Jungwon, please just call me Y/N, you don't need to be so formal," the younger boy flushed with embarrassment but nodded nonetheless, "and no, no party. I just assumed having two more mouths to feed would constitute a lot more food so I stocked up a bit."
"We can buy our own food! You don't need to feed us, just letting us stay here is more than enough," Jungwon replied. "Next time, let me and Heeseung go shopping for groceries, ok?"
Ruffling his hair gently you agreed. Jungwon protested quietly but you could see the small smile that decorated his cheeks as he brushed his hand through the messed up strands. You flicked on the kettle, grabbing some mugs.
"What sort of drinks do you like? I have anything you could ever think of." You asked, starting to make tea for yourself.
"Hmm, I like coffee but Seungie says I drink too much of it already so I should cut down a bit," he giggled the last part. "So I'll have tea too if that's ok?"
"Of course," you poured him a cup whilst he instructed you on how he liked it best, one sugar and lots of milk. "What does Heeseung like?"
Jungwon blinked at you slowly, wondering why you were making his brother a drink. From what he'd heard from Heeseung, you two weren't on good terms and that's why Heeseung wouldn't be hanging out with you, opting to stay in the room instead. But his older bother must be lying, because why would you be making him a drink if you didn't like him?
"Won?" You asked softly, noticing him zone out for a moment.
"Oh, sorry! I was just thinking about something, Hee likes tea as well! But he likes it without milk, I don't know why I think that's kind of gross like that but whatever." You poured the third cup and handed Jungwon his and Heeseung's drinks, "I'll take this to him, thanks Y/N!"
"No problem Jungwon, tell Heeseung I'll cook in a little while if he's hungry. If not then he can come and eat later or something, no pressure."
Jungwon nodded, scurrying off with the two drinks to where Heeseung sat on the bed with his laptop, scouring the internet for jobs.
"Seungie," he sang, placing the mug down next to him. "Y/N made you a drink, she said she's cooking soon if you're hungry but if not then help yourself later. I thought you said she hated you? She seems really nice!"
"Woah Jungwon calm down, one sentence at a time," Heeseung said, taking a quick sip from his mug. "I didn't say she hated me, we're just not on the best of terms that's all. Maybe I'll come for food if i get all this finished, ok? But you go join her, I'm sure she'd love that."
"Thanks Seung, this place is so nice! I'm glad Y/N is letting us stay for a while," he said, gulping down his drink even though it was still piping hot.
"Yeah, I'm glad too."

(disclaimer: bit of a heavy chapter but we're airing out all the issues we have here lol,,,,,, so lots of character development <3 sorry for slower updates, I'm back to work now!)
“So,” you mumbled over the rim of your mug. “This is kind of weird.”
Heeseung caught your gaze from opposite you, opting to just hum in response. You’d arrived home a little while ago from lunch with the boys, you texted Heeseung on the drive home to ask him if he wanted to have a chat when you got back. In hindsight, that sounded terrifying but you honestly just wanted to settle things a bit.
Sunoo had mentioned how rough things were for Heeseung recently, especially with all the mess from his ‘job’. Sunoo never went into detail, he said it was Heeseung’s business and he didn’t want to upset him by telling you. Which you respected, you’d learned by now that Sunoo was a loyal friend.
“Did you want to talk about something?” Heeseung asked, he seemed nervous. His fingers were tugging and pulling at the threads of his jumper and he was finding it hard to be in your presence without feeling his cheeks flush.
“Kind of,” you replied. “I just mostly wanted to talk so that things aren’t super awkward between us. And I wanted to talk about things without Jungwon here, because I know he doesn’t know about all of this shit.”
“Yeah, he doesn’t need to know all that,” Heeseung laughed awkwardly. “I know you said to stop apologising, but I honestly don’t understand what was going through my brain when I did all that.”
“I don’t know either Heeseung,” you sighed. “The whole thing was a bit fucked up, and I probably could’ve looked past the fact that you were Ethan if you’d have told me sooner rather than letting me find out by accident. The worst part was the obsessive behaviour.”
“I get that,” he tucked his feet up underneath him. “It was weird for me, when I was Ethan I felt completely different to when I was Heeseung. Because Ethan got your attention, and I know it was because of the money and you probably felt that you had to talk to me more because of all the money I sent, but the attention got to my head I think.”
“Yeah, and that’s my fault too. Like, we’re both to blame, I definitely lead you on when you were Ethan because of the money. But I’ve been in that situation before and it’s so hard to keep those boundaries sometimes, I’m glad it ended even if it ruined our friendship for a while.”
It was harsh but true, and Heeseung knew that. The ‘relationship’ you two had when he was Ethan had to end, it was never going to go anywhere and Heeseung knew that deep down, but he wanted to stay in his little delusional world for a little longer. And the fact that he never got to tell you himself made it worse, it definitely did ruin whatever friendship you two had in the real world.
“I’m glad it ended too, in a bittersweet way,” Heeseung replied, he took a sip from his own drink and you could see how his hands shook a little bit. “I do miss it sometimes, but now that we’re out of that situation I can see how toxic it was. I felt like we had something, but it was purely because I felt like you owed me attention when I sent money. And now that I’m slightly less of a fucking incel, I can see that it was stupid to think that. I really am sorry Y/N, I never meant for it to get out of hand like that. And when Jake and I became friends I never even knew he was friends with you too, maybe that was the universe’s way of telling me to sort my shit out and stop what I was doing.”
You nodded, it felt good to get everything off your chest, “the universe simultaneously split us up and bought us back together again, maybe we were destined to be friends.”
Heeseung looked up at you finally, wide eyes blinking slowly as he took in your face. You smiled softly at him.
“Does that mean we’re friends again?” He asked you, hanging off your every word like a puppy.
You smiled wider, “yeah, friends again.”
And for the first time since you’d started talking, Heeseung actually smiled at you. It was genuine and warm, he was truly happy. He didn’t reply, he just nodded, biting down on his lip to stop the grin that threatened to split his face.
“So we can agree to put it all behind us, yeah? Let’s act like it never happened,” he nodded, grateful for your forgiveness. “I’ve taken a step back from that side of my life now anyway, I wasn’t enjoying the dm sessions and the personal content, I prefer just making videos and putting content out that I want to create.”
“That’s good, you should do what makes you happy,” Heeseung started to fiddle with his sleeve again. Even though he wasn’t Ethan anymore, he still was enamoured with you, and thinking about you talking to other guys made his stomach churn unpleasantly. He reminded himself that it was your job, you didn’t care for clients like that.
If he thought about it too long then he’d start spiralling again, so Heeseung decided to not ask any more questions about your job. The less he knew the better. He didn’t want to become the obsessed version of himself that he was when he was Ethan.
“I did want to talk about something else before Wonnie comes home,” you said, bringing him out of his thoughts. “It’s to do with your job.”
Heeseung paled a little bit, it was part of his life where he was truly ashamed. He hated that he’d followed in his father’s footsteps, especially when he had promised Jungwon to look after him. He felt like he wasn’t doing a good job at that, Jungwon was in danger every day because of him.
“Heeseung?” You called, snapping him out of his thoughts, “can you tell me about it? I need to know what we’re dealing with here, so I can help you out of it.”
Heeseung thought he might cry, why were you being so kind to him after everything?
“There’s no way to sugar coat it,” he started, slumping down onto the couch. “I sell drugs. Our Dad did it too, and I took over when he got caught. He’s in prison now for a long time, and he left me to look after Jungwon. I was only seventeen when he left us, and I had no idea what to do, I didn’t want them to take Jungwon away so I lied about everything to everyone. I told them I worked in a convenience store, and no one questioned it.”
You could see how Heeseung’s eyes started to get glossy again as he blinked back the tears. You hated that he’d been through so much already. Putting your mug down on the table, you stood up and made your way to the other couch to sit next to Heeseung. If it was anyone else you would’ve hugged them, but for now just sitting next to him felt like enough. You didn’t want to overwhelm him.
“I’ve been fine for years, I never had to worry about a thing because I was good at the job. When Jungwon got into university I had to fund it myself, I lied to Won and told him we had savings from Dad but in reality we have nothing from him. I spent all our money on his fees, so I had to up my game a bit and sell more, sell harder stuff. And we were fine for so long,” he took in a sharp breath. “But I sold the wrong thing to the wrong guy and now his entire family is after me, and they’ll go for Jungwon too just to get at me. They have my address so we had to leave until I can find out a way to get them off my back.”
You didn’t know what to say in all honesty, you’d never have imagined such a thing from Heeseung. Your soft and quiet Heeseung. One thing you did know was that you wanted to help him.
Pulling your sleeve over you hand, you dabbed at the tear marks on his cheeks, wiping away the droplets. He looked up at you, his eyelashes were wet and his eyes looked so much more endearing like this. He looked really pretty and it was going to get you in trouble if you kept looking at him. Curse your attraction to pathetic looking men, now was not the time.
“I’m sorry Hee,” you mumbled. “But we’ll figure it out. We’ll figure it out and get you out of this job, and then you’ll never have to worry about this shit. And we’ll keep Jungwon safe, I promise you that.”
You rubbed his back gently, you wanted to hug him but you didn’t want to push your luck. Things were still fragile between you two, baby steps were the way to go.
“Thank you Y/N, honestly,” he leant back into your touch a little, closing his eyes at the warmth coming from your hand. “I really want to get out of this, I just want a quiet life for me and Jungwon.”
“We’ll make sure that happens, it might take a while but we can figure it out. You’ve got me on your side now,” you gave him a light pat on his back before removing your touch and standing up. You offered him a hand, which he took gently and let you pull him to his feet. “But first, I’m hungry. What’s Won’s favourite food?”

Your head was killing you as you stayed at home, phone in hand whilst you paced the living room. You’d texted Jungwon almost one hundred times now, not one of them had been read or responded to.
You kept up to date with the boys too, but nothing had come up yet, the sun was starting to set and you were increasingly worried. Because Jungwon was an adult now, the police wouldn’t do anything until at least twenty four hours have passed. You knew that as soon as it hit that time, you would be ringing the police station over and over until they did something.
A buzzing from your phone brought you out of your thoughts, Heeseung’s name popped up on your screen and you didn’t even hesitate to pick up the call. If you actually sat and thought about it, you and Heeseung had come a long way and all it took was a missing person’s case to do so. Fucking hell.
“Heeseung,” you said as soon as you picked up the phone. “Is everything ok?”
He didn’t respond for a few seconds, you could hear cars driving by outside and occasional sniffs through the speaker. He took a few deep breaths before talking.
“I can’t find him anywhere Y/N,” he mumbled, voice breaking at the end of your name. “I’ve driven around the whole fucking city, I’ve got no idea where he is.”
You could tell Heeseung was crying now, his words were muffled as he tried to compose himself.
“Hey, Hee don’t cry ok?” You knew your words were futile, “we’ll find him. The boys are still out looking, why don’t you come home for a bit and rest for a while?”
“I can’t do that, I won’t be able to until I know where he is,” you could hear him shut the door of his car and the background noise got quieter. “I’m just going to sit here for a while and then drive around again, I need a moment to calm down.”
“Don’t drive until you’re ok, yeah?” You worried the skin on your bottom lip, as much as you were concerned about Jungwon, you were equally as concerned about Heeseung. You couldn’t deny how much you had already started to care for the two boys in such a short amount of time.
“I’ll wait for a while, my hands are shaking a bit,” he sighed loudly. “What did the police say?”
“They can’t do anything until twenty four hours after he was last seen, so I can call them in the morning if we need to,” you could hear Heeseung get more irritated as he huffed out in annoyance. “I’m sorry Hee, we’re doing as much as we can do now.”
“I’m not mad at you, I just hate how useless the police are. Waiting that long is just going to make it harder for them to find him,” he replied, voice softer than before.
“We’ll find him Heeseung,” you stopped, pulling the phone away from your ear for a second as you heard some shuffling outside the front door. You heard Heeseung call your name a few times so you bought your phone back towards you, “hold on Hee, I can hear someone outside, let me check.”
“Be careful, don’t hang up, ok?” He said, worried that it could be someone coming after you too. He couldn’t be more careful now, especially after Jungwon.
“I’m here,” you said, reassuring him. A thump sounded on the door and you jumped a little, grabbing the handle tight. You opened the door slowly, peaking your head out until you could make out the figure of someone slumped against the door.
You gasped loudly, “Jungwon?”
Clutching his stomach and holding onto the doorframe for dear life was Jungwon, clothes dirty and face bruised. But he was here and he was alive. You could hear Heeseung but you needed to help Jungwon first, you grabbed the younger boy and wrapped his arm around your shoulders to help him hobble inside your apartment, shutting the door behind you.
“Y/N, what’s going on?” Heeseung’s voice was urgent over the phone, you felt bad for leaving him in suspense for a few seconds.
“Jungwon’s here,” you huffed out as you tried to pull the boy over to the sofa. “He’s home Hee, come back, ok? He looks pretty beat up, but I’ll do my best to patch him up until you get here.”
“Fuck, oh my god,” Heeseung almost cried in relief. “I’m on my way now, I’ll be home soon. Give me ten minutes.”
“Drive safely Heeseung, I can manage until you’re here,” you leant Jungwon up against the sofa so he was sitting up properly. “I’m hanging up now, be safe.”
You sent a quick text to the boys, telling them Jungwon was home and you would update them all later. You knew they would be worried but for now you needed to turn your attention to the boy in front of you who was clutching his stomach in pain. You cupped his cheek, noticing how one eye was swollen closed and a few cuts and bruises littered his cheeks.
“Won? Can you talk to me?” You asked softly, brushing his hair gently from his face. Some blood had caked the strands but you could clean that later.
“Mhm, hurts Y/N,” he whined, blinking up at you with the one eye that wasn’t swollen.
“What hurts the most Won?” You grabbed a tissue from the box on your coffee table, dabbing at the blood that was trickling from a cut on his forehead.
“My stomach, they hit me there a lot,” he gestured to where he was clutching himself tightly around his abdomen. “My head too, feels like it’s full of cotton.”
“Can I have a look? I’ll be gentle,” you asked, Jungwon nodded and removed his hand from his stomach. You slowly lifted the fabric, gasping when you saw the deep purple colour that covered the area already. You dropped the material of his hoodie, you’d seen enough. His ribs were probably bruised beyond belief and the rest of his body was bruised and scratched up.
“Is it bad?” He asked, a small pout on his face.
“It’s not good,” you replied with a small laugh. “But you’ll live, let’s get your cleaned up before Hee gets home.”
Jungwon nodded, too tired to say anything yet. He let you apply antiseptic to his cuts and bandage up the ones that were still bleeding, you applied cream to his bruises that would help them fade a bit quicker but he would be bed bound for a while until he was better.
Once he was all cleaned up you went to grab him some water, bustling around in the kitchen when you heard Heeseung burst through the front door.
“Oh my god Jungwon,” he breathed out in relief. You came back through to the living room, just observing the two of them. “I’m so sorry Won, are you ok?”
Jungwon nodded gently, smiling up at his older brother. You came over with the water, helping him take a few sips, “I’ve given him painkillers and cleaned him up, he doesn’t need to go to the hospital but he should probably rest for a few days.”
You turned to look at Heeseung, noticing how his eyes were wide and glossy like they got when he was talking to you. You hated that you thought he looked pretty at a time like this.
“Hey,” you mumbled, placing a hand on Heeseung’s shoulder gently. “He’s going to be fine.”
Heeseung nodded, trying to crack a small smile as he brushed his fingers through Jungwon’s hair. Seeing his younger brother like this was painful, knowing it was because of him and his stupid decisions was even worse.
“Seungie?” Jungwon mumbled after drinking the whole glass of water, “the people who found me, they were asking about you.”
Heeseung’s eyes widened, worried that they had spilled his secret to Jungwon. It was bad enough him being dragged into this, but finding out about his job would be even worse.
“What did they say Won?” He asked hesitantly, his hand reaching towards you. You noticed this and took his hand in yours, locking your fingers together and giving him a reassuring squeeze.
“Not much, they just kept asking where you were and that you owed them money or something,” he closed his eyes and leant his head back on the sofa. “I told them I didn’t know anything, that’s why they kept hurting me. They left me there for ages Hee, I was so scared.”
Heeseung nodded, tears staining his cheeks as he realised just how dangerous these people were. He hated himself, Jungwon was hurt because of him. Heeseung would do anything to take away Jungwon’s pain.
“It’s ok Wonnie,” you said. “We’ll make sure you’re safe from now on, we can sort it. For now, I think we need to get you to bed so you can sleep for a while.”
Jungwon nodded gently, not having the energy to reply to you yet. You glanced at Heeseung and tugged on his hand, signalling him to help you hold Jungwon as you took him to the bedroom. Heeseung helped him change into comfortable clothes as you grabbed a new glass of water and some more medicine in case he needed more in the night. By the time you returned, he was tucked into the bed and Heeseung was running his fingers through his hair softly.
“Here,” you handed Heeseung his own bottle of water. “He’d going to be ok Hee, we’ll figure this out.”
You were whispering now as you perched on the side of the bed next to Heeseung, the older boy took his eyes off his brother for a while to look at you.
“Thanks Y/N, I honestly don’t know what I’d have done without you today,” he said, turning to face you fully. “I’m so sorry you had to deal with all this, I promise I’ll sort things out, you don’t need to worry about it.”
“No Heeseung, I’m not letting you deal with this alone,” you reached up a hand to brush his hair from his eyes but paused halfway, were you at that point yet? You dropped your hand. “At least now we know what they want, so if we find out how much money it’ll take to pay them off then we can sort it.”
“I don’t know if I could afford that Y/N, they’re going to want a lot if they’ve gone to all this trouble already,” Heeseung rubbed his eyes, tears threatening to spill.
“I’ll cover it,” you replied. “I’m sure the money Ethan sent me over the last few months could easily pay for it.”
Heeseung whipped his head towards you, eyes wide and expecting you to be mad or disgusted at him. But a wide smile was on your face.
“How can you even joke about that now,” he whined. Whenever he thought about Ethan he wanted to curl up and cry, it made him feel sick.
“It’s in the past Hee, we’re over it now,” this time you let yourself brush his hair out of his face, lingering your touch on his cheek. “You look tired, you need to sleep as well.”
“I don’t want to sleep whilst Jungwon’s this badly hurt, what if he wakes up in the night and needs something?” He replied, reaching up and taking your hand in his. It felt natural to hold him now, it felt familiar.
“I can stay as well, I’ll stay up for a while and we can take turns if you want? But if we’re both asleep, I’m a light sleeper so he can wake me up for medicine or water.” You said, you also didn’t really want to leave Jungwon. But mostly you didn’t want to leave Heeseung, he looked so fragile like this, you didn’t want him alone.
“Are you sure?” He asked softly, glancing down at his sleeping brother. Jungwon had passed out almost immediate and you could hear gentle snores leaving his lips.
“I’m sure, I’ll go on the other side of him,” you replied. Squeezing his hand one last time, you let go and went around to the other side of the bed and got yourself comfortable on top of the covers. “It’s a good thing I got a king sized bed, huh?”
“You don’t have to do this Y/N,” Heeseung said, mirroring your position and lying down next to Jungwon. “I’ll be fine staying here with him.”
“I want to stay, I’d feel better knowing we’re both here to look after him,” you took out your phone, seeing the boys consistently asking for updates. “Get some sleep Hee, I’ll be here when you wake up.”
Heeseung nodded, shuffling himself down and facing Jungwon. He closed his eyes, sleep almost immediately occurring due to the exhaustion that overtook him. He felt safe knowing you were there and was able to settle into a peaceful rest. It didn’t take long before you were nodding off yourself, hand resting over Jungwon’s waist gently as if by instinct.
When Heeseung awoke a few hours later, grabbing some water for Jungwon who had woken up briefly, he noticed you sleeping softly next to them. Jungwon settled again quickly, snoring away between the two of you whilst your arm remained over him. Heeseung reached for your hand, gently tracing the skin with his fingertips, his heart beating fast as he looked over at you. And maybe his heart jumped out of his chest when you reached over further to lock your fingers with his again in your sleep, but he would never tell you that.

You didn’t know why you were nervous. It’s not like this was the first date you’d ever been on. And it wasn’t the first time you’d hung out with Heeseung either.
But knowing it would be the two of you all night, in a place so unfamiliar to you both, was setting your nerves on fire. The two of you had agreed to leave at six thirty, the gallery opened at seven and you two would spend a little time driving there beforehand. But it was now six and you had been ready for over an hour, sitting in your room fiddling with the hem of your dress nervously.
You’d been living with Heeseung and Jungwon for a few weeks now, yet you and Heeseung had never been out together. Sure you’d spent time together in the house, you spent almost every evening relaxing on the sofa in comfortable silence since the situation with Jungwon, but going out on a pre-planned date was a whole new step up.
You checked your texts, Sunoo and Sunghoon would be arriving at around seven to stay with Jungwon for a while whilst you were both out. Jungwon was a lot better now, he was out of bed and doing everything himself, but you still wanted the others there just in case. He was a little forgetful and you didn’t want him to forget to take his medicine or hurt himself.
Grabbing your lip gloss, you applied it again to your lips almost as if it was a nervous habit. But the sweet strawberry smell calmed you down as you closed the tube and tucked it into your purse. You glanced in the mirror, tugging the hem of your dress down where it has crinkled and smoothing down your hair. This was the first time you had really dressed up for a man, and there was a tiny part of you that yearned for Heeseung’s approval. It wasn’t very ‘independent strong woman’ of you.
A light knock sounded on your door and your eyes quickly whipped towards that direction, “Y/N? Can I come in?”
Jungwon. You called out in approval and waited as he slipped through the door, shutting it tight behind him. He was wearing one of your hoodies, he’d borrowed it a few days ago and decided he never wanted to give it back.
“Wow,” he breathed, bounding over to you with a wide grin on his face. “You look so pretty, Heeseung is going to collapse when he sees you.”
You laughed lightly, “do you think he’ll like it?” You asked him, still fidgeting with your clothes and your bag. You couldn’t keep still from the nerves.
“Since when did you ever seek male validation?” Jungwon teased, ducking when you went to flick his forehead in retaliation, “sorry, sorry! He’ll love it though, I promise! If it makes you feel any better, he’s more nervous than you right now.”
“He is?” It comforted you a bit knowing that he was worried as well, it meant he cared.
“Yeah, he keeps asking me to straighten his clothes for him or check his hair even though I’ve done it about fifty times now. I actually came to tell you that he’s ready to go if you are, it’s almost time to leave,” your eyes widened, glancing down at your phone to see that it was in fact six thirty.
Jungwon must’ve noticed your worry, he smiled softly and gave you a quick hug. Even though the younger boy felt like a baby to you, he was still a little taller and you nuzzled your face into the fabric of your hoodie which now held his scent. Just being around Jungwon calmed you down, he really was like best friend you needed the most.
“Heeseung’s waiting Y/N, you’ll have the best time I promise,” Jungwon brushed your hair back for you with kind eyes. “I know he can be a little shy and bad at expressing his feelings, but trust me when I say that you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him, to us. So don’t feel nervous, just enjoy it.”
“Thank you Wonnie,” you said, reaching up to ruffle his hair, much to his annoyance. “You’ll be ok until the boys arrive?”
“Of course, I can’t wait to see Sunoo and meet Sunghoon! It feels like ages since I saw him last,” Jungwon pouted but it was light hearted. Sunoo felt like a brother to him, and from what he’d heard about Sunghoon he was excited to meet him too.
“Ok, I’ll leave you be then,” you smiled, hooking your purse over your shoulder and giving yourself a once over. “Wish me luck.”
Jungwon all but pushed you out the door and you made your way to the living room, seeing Heeseung standing there waiting for you, his head angled down as he stared at his phone blankly. You took a moment to look at him, his hair was styled a little differently and fell in messy waves across his forehead. He wore a plain black suit and shoes, but he’d paired it with a pretty blouse that made him look incredibly handsome. You’d never seen Heeseung dressed up before and you felt your knees buckle at the sight.
Heeseung felt your presence as you walked in and he looked up from his phone, he was just staring at the settings page pretending he was busy, and he almost fell to the floor. Considering he had seen you naked hundreds of times in your videos you’d have thought he would be used to you by now, but seeing you dressed in a beautiful lace top and tight dress made him feel weak at the knees. You looked like a dream as you nervously rocked back and forth on your heels.
“Y/N,” he breathed out, clearing his throat as he tucked his phone away. “You look beautiful.”
You tried to hide your blush but it was impossible, Heeseung made you flustered so easily, “thank you, you look really good too.”
You took a few steps forward, standing directly in front of him. Being this close, Heeseung could smell the sticky sweetness of your lip gloss. He wanted to reach forward, run his tongue across your lips and taste it, wanted to suck your bottom lip between his teeth and bite down until he heard the pretty whines he missed so much.
“Are you ready to go?” You asked, tilting your head slightly at him. He nodded, pulling out his car keys ready and clearing those thoughts from his head.
“Yeah sure,” Heeseung opened the front door for you, closing and locking it behind him. Sunghoon had a spare key for your house anyway. “I hope you don’t mind us going in my little old car.”
You smiled genuinely, even after knowing you all this time he was still nervous around you, “Heeseung, you could drive a golf cart for all I care.”
He laughed, a pretty smile across his lips, “it’s a little faster than a golf cart. But that’s good to know.”
He opened the door for you, lending you his arm as you ducked down into this car. You buckled yourself up as he shut the door softly and rushed around to his side, getting comfortable next to you. When he turned on the engine, soft music immediately started playing from his speakers connected to his phone. Heeseung unlocked it, handing it to you, “you can play whatever you like, I want to know what sort of music you’re into.”
The gesture made you giddy, was he always this much of a smooth talker? You mumbled a reply, scrolling through various songs and adding them to the queue as he started driving to the gallery. The sun had begun to set and a pretty orange glow settled across the horizon, reflecting onto Heeseung’s face as he drove. You tried not to stare but it was hard, he looked so handsome in this lighting.
“I love this song,” Heeseung said suddenly, breaking you out of the trance you were in. “I didn’t know you liked ‘Dayglow’? Their songs are so calming.”
“Yeah, I prefer soft music,” you placed his phone down into one of the cupholders. “But it’s interesting to see how different our music taste is, it’s fun.”
He hummed in agreement, “you should recommend me some songs and I can try them out.”
You bit back a smile, opting to just nod even though you were sure he couldn’t see you. Heeseung was focused on driving, one hand resting on the steering wheel whilst the other sat idly on the gearstick. You noticed familiar surroundings as he pulled into a parking lot near the gallery, had the car ride really gone that quickly? You’d spent all that time staring at him.
Heeseung parked the car and jumped out quickly, not even giving you time before he was opening your door for you. He really was a gentleman.
“It’s pretty cold,” he mumbled as you stood next to him and he shut the car door, locking it. “Do you want my jacket?”
You shook your head softly, “I’m ok, it’s not too bad. Thank you though Hee.”
Heeseung was glad it was dark already so that you wouldn’t be able to see the blush that decorated his cheeks. In the distance you could hear excited chatter and a few camera’s flashing. You probably should’ve briefed Heeseung beforehand but you had completely forgotten to, far too nervous about your first date with him to think of anything else.
“I forgot to say, there’s probably going to be a lot of people taking pictures tonight. I was invited here by the gallery for exposure, so they’ll most likely take pictures of us together, is that ok?” It was easy to forget that you were pretty well known nowadays, amassing hundreds of thousands of fans online, and the mainstream media had started to catch wind of it all. In your small town it was fine, you were able to go out without being recognised, but now, in the city, at a gallery opening you knew people would be asking after you. Not once had it crossed your mind that maybe Heeseung wouldn’t want that, being dragged into the spotlight without his knowledge.
“It’s ok Y/N,” he reassured you, placing a hand gently on your arm. “It’ll be fine, we just have to smile right?”
You nodded at him, taking a breath to calm yourself as you started to head down the road towards the venue, heels tapping on the concrete. Heeseung kept his hands to himself, letting the hand by his sides in the hopes you would make the first move.
So you did. You reached over, gently taking his hand in yours and locking your fingers together. Heeseung tried not to act bothered, instead squeezing your hand in his a little tighter, when in reality his heart was beating at one hundred miles an hour. It felt natural to hold you like this, it felt comfortable, and he hoped it wasn’t just for show in front of the cameras.
You rounded the corner where you could see the opening of the gallery, decorated with pretty lights and flowers. There was a few cameramen, it was a small event, and they immediately started capturing photos of the two of you as you made your way into the gallery. You smiled and waved shyly to those who were calling your name, Heeseung accompanying you. He felt a swell of pride in his chest hearing your name left and right, knowing people were anticipating your arrival and were excited to capture just one photo of you.
He felt you relax a little once the doors closed behind you, waiters passing you drinks as you walked through the entrance area. Heeseung squeezed your hand tightly, urging you to look up at him as he smiled down at you warmly. You smiled back, taking a sip of the alcohol they had served you, champagne maybe? It was a lot fancier than the vodka red bulls that Jake usually made you.
“It’s so pretty in here,” you noted, eyes scanning the first room which was decorated with many paintings. There were other rooms with sculptures, modern art, anything you could think of, and you couldn’t wait to see all of them.
Heeseung pulled you over to a quieter part of the room where less people had congregated, looking around at some paintings by lesser known artists. He watched as your eyes widened in awe at the work, smiling the most he had in a long while.
That’s how the next few hours continued. The two of you made your way through all the different rooms, enjoying the art and making little comments to one another. The conversation flowed smoothly, the two of you in your own little world as you just enjoyed spending time together. Occasionally other people would come up to you and have a quick chat, some of them even took pictures of the two of you which you were sure would end up on twitter later. Heeseung would pose like a natural, wrapping an arm around your waist and smiling slightly at the cameras. But it was fun, you were having fun with Heeseung and you didn’t at any point feel nervous or awkward.
“You look really pretty tonight Y/N,” Heeseung said again, probably for the third time that night, as you neared the end of the last exhibit. “I know I’ve said it a few times but I mean it, you’re always pretty but this dress looks incredible on you.”
You turned to him, hand still in his after all those hours, and tilted your head up to look at him. A wide smile was on your face, compliments from men were the norm for you, but compliments from Heeseung made you giddy. That’s how you knew you were perhaps a little bit whipped for him.
Heeseung was feeling a little more confident tonight, he felt comfortable enough around you to be more like himself. He let go of your hand, reaching for your waist instead as he pulled you towards him gently. Your own hands went to rest on his chest, curling the fabric of his blouse between your fingers. You were sure it was getting wrinkled but you didn’t care much, all you could think about was how he was so close that you could smell his cologne and feel his heart beating under your palms. Heeseung could once again smell your strawberry lip gloss, and he’d been holding back so long that he really wanted to taste it.
“Can I kiss you Y/N?” He asked, dipping his head down lower so that you could hear his soft tone over the gentle background music that was playing.
“You don’t need to ask,” you replied back, lips curling upwards as his expression mirrored your own. Heeseung tugged you forward, letting his mouth press against yours gently. And whatever he had imagined in his dreams was nothing compared to the real thing. He let himself get lost in the feeling, tilting his head a little to bring you closer into him.
You gasped lightly, opening your mouth to let his tongue push between your lips. You could feel the eyes of other guests on you but you didn’t care, all the mattered was the feeling of Heeseung’s body pressed against yours as you desperately held onto his shirt to keep him close.
You knew you needed to pull away eventually, but when Heeseung bit on your bottom lip you couldn’t help the whine that left your throat. Heeseung smiled against your lips, licking to soothe the area before pulling away. You breathed heavily, watching as he licked the gloss off his lips that had smudged against him.
“Holy fuck,” he mumbled. “I waited so long to be able to do that.”
“Me too,” you replied shyly. Since when were you the shy one? You leant up to peck his lips once more before pulling back completely.
Heeseung squeezed your waist before letting you go, latching onto your hand once again. You were still staring up at him, taking in the way his eyes were wide, pupils blown, and his lips were puffy and pink. You reached up, using your thumb to wipe at the remnants of your lip gloss off the corner of his mouth and onto his lips. His tongue darted out, licking your thumb as you pulled away giggling.
“I had fun tonight,” you said, arms swinging between you as you made your way back to the car. “It was good to spend time with you outside of the house.”
“Yeah? Was it everything you hoped it would be?” Heeseung replied, unlocking his car and standing in front of you.
“Best first date ever,” you said, leaning up once again to kiss him softly. “It was perfect.”
“I’m glad, I had a lot of fun too,” he leant behind you and opened the door for you to sit down. You thought he’d close the door but instead he ducked down, reaching over and grabbing your seatbelt to buckle you in. Your heart fluttered at the gesture, eyes tracking his every movement. Heeseung stopped in front of your face, he couldn’t help himself from kissing you gently again. “Let’s get you home now, before I spend all night kissing your lips.”
You nodded, agreeing with him as he shut the door and jogged over to the driver’s side of the car. But as you laid in your bed that night, eyes wide open as you willed yourself to sleep, you thought that you probably wouldn’t have minded if he stayed with you all night. In fact, Heeseung had made his way so far into your heart that you wouldn’t have minded if he stayed every night. You were so fucked.
