Hogoshamaru Week DAY FOUR: Teaching and Learning
This is one of the silliest things I’ve ever drawn lmao but y’all know this is accurate. It’s sketchy because I got tired of working on it, sorry!!!😵😵
(Sesshoumaru refuses to get on with the times and wear period-appropriate clothes because he’s the type of old man who goes “the way young people these days dress is an affront to the dignity of all living beings”.)

A HEART THAT WELCOMES A FAMILY
Rin: Kagura-san, I can feel your belly moving! I hear you're going to have twins! I'm so excited to see them.
Kagura: Really? That's good to hear. I can always feel them kicking. I just feel that they're going to be a lively bunch.
Rin: *giggles* I'm sure they will. Well then, we better keep you healthy. I'm just going to prepare your lunch for you. Wait for me here (assists the pregnant Kagura to the table). Your children will be really lucky to have you and Sesshomaru-sama as their parents.
---She was about to leave the room...
Kagura: Rin!
---When Kagura suddenly called out, Rin looked back.
Rin: What is it, Kagura-san?
Kagura: *smiles softly* I've talked about it with Sesshomaru. I know you had already warmed up living in the village. Yet, would you mind...if we get to be your parents, too?
Upon hearing what Kagura said, Rin stayed motionless and her face hidden which worried Kagura.
Kagura: B-But, I would understand if you don't want to. I know I had hurt you before---
All of a sudden, Rin ran towards Kagura and hugged her tightly.
Rin: Do-Do you really mean it?
Kagura's eyes widened with surprise and sighed with relief. Hugging Rin back, she whispered.
Kagura: Of course, who wouldn't?
It was years ago when Sesshomaru managed to bring Kagura back to life. She is able to live freely, free from Naraku's grasp of her heart. She has journeyed for years after she was revived, and found a safe place for her heart to stay. That place is Sesshomaru and their soon-to-be children. The question is, will Rin be willing to be a part of her new life?
Kagura: Rin, would you really accept me as your mother?
Rin: Yes! Rin would love it very much. I-I have always wanted to be part of a family again. Sesshomaru-sama has always been there for me as a guardian...no, as a father. Kagura-san, you have been really good to me. I might've been scared of you before, but Sesshomaru-sama has made me understand why you did what you did. You're an incredible and strong person. So it's okay now.
Kagura was left speechless, her heart was touched by Rin's innocence and understanding. She thought and felt more relieved of her future together...as a family.
"Is there something the matter?"
A tall white-haired, dog demon said entering the room.
Kagura: Sesshomaru...
Rin: Sesshomaru-sama! You're back!
Sesshomaru looked at both Kagura and Rin with their watery eyes.
Sesshomaru: Did something happen?
Kagura: *smirk* Were your worried? We're fine. I just finally asked Rin.
Rin excitedly looked up at Sesshomaru with her eyes looking so bright.
Rin: Is it really okay for you, Sesshomaru-sama? Can I really be a part of your family?
Sesshomaru moved closer and leaned over. He held Kagura's hand that's on her growing belly, and Rin's cheek with his other hand.
He looked at Kagura, to which she nodded then looked at Rin softly.
Sesshomaru: Rin, call me...father.
I'm not really good at writing stories. I don't really care, though. I just really want to contribute to Hogoshamaru week. I hope you all enjoyed it!
Sesshomaru storyline in alternate sequel - synopsis
After defeating Naraku, Sesshomaru and Jaken travel the lands for reasons only they know; he brings Rin handmade kimono’s from around the world, apprehensive that each time he will arrive with her determined to follow him.
His most recent trip surprised him though; Kagome informs the yokai Rin has become skilled as a midwife and healer. She is learning miko skills and Sesshomaru could see the pride in her eyes; he happens upon Rin who rushes to him and wraps her arms around him. She comes to his waist and he allows the embrace; he looks into her eyes and even though he doesn’t say anything Rin tells him she wants to stay. Satisfied his daughter is happy, he goes on his way.
A few months later, Sesshomaru happens upon a burned village; he and Jaken explore because Sesshomaru senses something. In a dilapidated home, he finds a dying mother holding her infants; seemingly unafraid, the young woman holds the babies toward him asking he take them away. Sesshomaru senses a strange aura coming from the children; he stares at the woman and whispers the name of a known yokai. She nods before slipping into unconsciousness.
Much to Jaken’s annoyance, Sesshomaru take the twin girls and head to Kaede’s village; Rin is the first to spot him as always and she immediately takes charge. Kagome and Inuyasha come along as well as Jaken informs them of what happened.
Hearing the name of this powerful yokai, Inuyasha suggests they leave the twins with Shiori as they hunt for the father; Rin volunteers to take care of the children in their absence. While Kagome remains with their daughter, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru set out to locate the missing father of the twins; what will they find during their journey?
Note: This isn’t a story I’m writing; however, if anyone is so inclined they are welcome to create it. I just thought it would be more Sesshomaru style to adopt orphaned children since he’s done it before; it would be interesting if Shiori were part of that story as well and of course Rin would be the surrogate big sister as she was meant to be.
This may mean nothing, but I was a bit curious about the following:
Do you notice how all 3 have butterflies in their kimono? Maybe the studio thought they were pretty; someone (can't remember username) suggested that maybe Sesshomaru obtained the kimono for Rin from his mother since the butterflies are of the same color; the fabric color is about the same too. However, so is Kagura's in some way except the butterflies.
Just thought it was curious 🤔
I just wanted to say thank you to those who started and are participating in Hogoshomru Week; it's so wonderful and inspiring to see so many people contribute to this beautiful theme. It takes me back to when I used to write fanfiction and I may do a little something; it makes my heart glad to see this.
My hope is that we can continue with this beautiful fandom; put aside the terribleness of a certain fanmade show/manga. The IY Fandom is filled with wonderful and inspiring people; it would be sad to leave it behind. To leave what is truly canon would be horrible; remember Inuyasha and the characters there. Remember how it makes you feel watching it; the memories it brings to you. The stories and pictures it helps you create; I hope we can keep this going.

I continue to see the argument with the meaning of Hogosha...why I don't know.
I thought I would add another word to the mix: Foster Parent
a person who acts as parent and guardian for a child in place of the child's natural parents but without legally adopting the child
In that regard, do you think it's okay for a foster parent to take in, clothe, feed and protect a child only to one day 'be' with them? Uh...no. It's not that hard to see how disgusting and wrong that is.
Just a thought
The more I think about Sesshomaru's character, the more I feel him being married and having biological children doesn't fit. This may have been a notation from somewhere before, but as you see him in the manga and anime could you see him suddenly wanting to be married? Does that seem like something he cared about?
Although I'm team Sesshomaru and Kagura, I could still see them together but not romantically; he obviously cares for her, but falling in love? The concept would be too foreign to him; he spent a good chunk of his life living for himself until Rin came along which first made him see things differently. Then Kagura died and his feelings went extreme.
Still, it doesn't mean he suddenly understands what love his; he sees that his emotions are changing but why? He finds himself defending Kagura's name and wanting to save Rin a second time, but why?
I feel like after Naraku was defeated, Sesshomaru would have gone on a journey of discovery; this sounds like something I wrote before, lol. I think Sesshomaru wouldn't find a need to be married and have offspring; especially not so soon after having these new emotions. If (big if), he decided to act on them I see him taking years to come to grips with it.
Him adopting the twins would have made more sense; his finding a way for them to have his scent for protection would make more sense. Him being married and having biological children does not; not so soon at least.
That's my opinion.

Hey apparently sessrinners are doing a hogoshamaruweek week too, right after ours (Nov 1-7). They created a Twitter account called "hogoshamaruweek" to announce it. They literally said, "As many know, guardian/ward relationships that become romantic in nature are a common trope found in all sorts of media. With this event, we hope to explore both the spicy and the sweet side of SessRin’s guardian/ward relationship. Both General and NSFW works will be allowed!"
Hi anon. Thank you for telling me about this. We have been receiving some messages today regarding that week that shippers want to do. From what I have been told, it's like the romantic/sexual version of our Hogoshamaru week of Sesshomaru and Rin as father and daughter, and they are even using the same tags as ours! 🙄
I think the best thing we can do is not give them our attention and participate in our week of Sesshomaru and Rin as father and daughter. Let's create content that we like, let's share with other people who also see their relationship as parental. And never forget that:
Hogosha means parental figure.
In this week and blog that's the meaning we're going to hold onto. And it doesn't matter if a series wants to explore a different future, Hogosha's meaning does not change and in the OG story Sesshomaru and Rin have a beautiful father-daughter relationship. 🤗💕 For this week, let's focus on that.
