ok i agree but HEAR ME OUT. i also think it’s because she wanted to improve herself but she can’t since she’s a gem. Look at Greg the baby sitter. Pink envies the way humans can change who they are and grow up.  I think Pink also killed herself because look at the condition of gem kind  before she died. It wasn’t really a happy story. Corrupted gems were roaming the earth and the diamonds were still running homeworld oppressively. Pink only “won” her rebellion because she didn’t live in homeworld anymore. Now look at Steven’s life. His influence with the gems brought out their ability to grow with him. like Garnet says in Gem harvest, they didn't feel like a family until Steven came along. Plus, I pretty sure the earth would have been destroyed if Steven was never born.

Long story short, Pink sacrificed herself so that she can change who she is (literally. Not a persona like Rose) and also truly fix Homeworld and the mess she had made during the rebellion through Steven. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

THOUGHTS ON TOGETHER ALONE

Some notes and stuff

-PINK PEARL = WHITE PEARL AND OUR PEARL IS OG WHITE PEARL???

-Pink Pearl was definitely ‘defective’

-Yellow Diamond’s neck hath reached its full potential

-spongebob reference followed by a sex joke

-I hope that at the end of the series, when all the gems are freed or whatever,Blue and Yellow Pearl start their own clothing line

-That moment with White Pearl genuinely caught me off guard and made me laugh so much. I love how the music just cuts out as Steven *family friendly* curses to himself

-The music from the promo’s is also the ballroom music for homeworld

-Steven, Connie, what the actual fuck

-You are in front of 2 galactic dictators, the servant of one of possibly the most powerful entity in the universe, and all of the homeworld courts. And you decide that then is the best time to dance with each other

-I guess all cross gem fusion to homeworld is gay marriage to a traditional Christian family

-“homosexuality is just a cheap tactic to make straight gems gayer”

-New fusion!!

-Literally nothing happened last episode but when something actually happens the episode just ends. Wow, thanks

Is the White Diamond and her Pearl interaction a pre-recorded message? Was everything fake like they are in Roses room?

Did the interaction trigger when Pinks ship landed? That would a explain so much.

White not letting Steven finish his sentences.

White Pearl literally acting like an unfinished AI from Baldis Basics

White Diamond sayin how everyone seems so “excited” for her arrival even though she looks like she literally hasn’t moved an inch in eons to even see that or have enough time to even process her arrival (Blue Diamond said she hadn’t left Homeworld for that long....can she even? Why is she in a statue like pose?)

The crowd stopped cheering suddenly when White Pearl showed up...very suspicious...planned?

White ONLY wanted Pink Diamond and clearly acted like she knew her intentions all along. Did Pink turn to White after not getting through Blue and Yellow? What happened during that time? The Diamonds said White is hard to cool down and she’d be pissed if she found out, yet that was not the reaction. She seemed very passive-aggressive, yes, but that’s because she acted like she wasn’t even apart of a REAL conversation.

They also said that’s she’s “hard to get to”. It may just be her character obviously but what if that because she isn’t even real?? Like Roses room.

White Diamond literally acts like every “person” shaped from Roses room. And so does her Pearl. (THE FLOATING AND THE PHASING AND THE PLANNED DIALOGUE)

Then she “teleported” Pink back into what looks to be her old “palace” or something. What’s up with the sudden “ok that was a funny game now let’s get back to work ahaha” attitude?

(This may be a LONG reach, but what if Pinks ship didn’t even go to homeworld when it was set to return? Everything was extremely uncanny.)

Was anything even real?

‘Steven Universe’ Theory: Why are some Gems rare?

The Answer provides us with an important fact regarding Gem society: some Gems are common, while others are relatively rare.

image

Garnet describes Sapphire as a “rare aristocratic Homeworld Gem”, and the Rubies as “common soldiers”. We know that countless Quartz Gems were produced in the Alpha Kindergarten, and that 89 kindergartens were originally planned for the Earth colony. Gems are clearly produced en-masse, which begs the question: why are some Gems rare? Given the valuable abilities of a Gem like Sapphire, wouldn’t Homeworld want to produce as many as possible?

image
image

There is no definitive answer, but I do have a few ideas.

1. Homeworld limits production of the more powerful Gems.

image

This would make sense as a tactic to prevent rebellion. In order to maintain a secure hold over Gem society, the Diamonds may be unwilling to risk the creation of too many powerful Gems, who might be able to overthrow them.

image

However, I would keep a few points in mind:

1. Given the sheer number of common Gems (such as Quartz soldiers), there is always the possibility of the Diamonds being overthrown (especially if fusion is involved). Limiting the number of powerful, loyal, upper class Gems would make the Diamonds more susceptible to an attack from the lower classes.

2. Prior to the rebellion of the Crystal Gems, it is entirely possible that Gem society had never seen an armed rebellion or revolution.

2. Certain Gem types can only be grown on uncommonly rare planets, or use up an extreme amount of resources.

From Peridot’s comments in Too Far, it can be inferred that the Alpha Kindergarten was used primarily (or exclusively) to grow Quartz soldiers (Amethyst being one of them). Could it be that some areas of land (or entire planets) are only suitable for growing certain Gem types?

If so, perhaps Gems like Sapphire can only be grown from extremely rare resources; until another suitable planet is discovered, production of rare Gems would be impossible. Homeworld itself may be the only known location where some of the rarest Gems can be made, and it is safe to assume that Homeworld was hollowed out long ago.

image

Another possibility is that the initial materials placed in the kindergarten injectors are hard to come by for some Gems.

image

Alternatively, rare Gems may require an exorbitant amount of resources in order to grow. If a particular Gem type requires an entire planet, production levels are going to be fairly limited.

3. The rare Gems were created by another race entirely.

Gems have indicated on numerous occasions that they may, in fact, be advanced AI computers, and Peridot mentions in the Diamond Moon Base that Gems are “a space-faring race designed to conquer other worlds”. I have a feeling that the Gem race did not evolve naturally; rather, that it was created by a precursor species (e.g. the Sneople).

image

If so, it would explain why Homeworld cannot produce certain varieties of Gem: they lack the knowledge, technology, or resources required to do so.

What are your thoughts on Gem rarity? Please let me know in the comments. :)
