Sighs *adds this to list of art I’m going to make this week*
So I've been hooked on Helluva Boss for a while and recently rewatched Hazbin Hotel even though it was kinda "meh" to me the first time. Still more of a Helluva Boss fan than a Hazbin Hotel fan, but I do have my favorites from each: Moxxie and Alastor. Then I noticed I picked two characters from the same universe that have more in common than I first thought:
Both are big on music
Both have hooves (Moxxie a bit more literally than Alastor's deer print shoes)
Both have a snappy fashion sense that rely on suits and bowties rather than more casual wear.
Both follow a moral code. Twisted ones (particularly in Alastor's case), yes, but still there.
Then I was surfing the wiki and found this tidbit under Alastor's profile:
Alastor would not kill a child but will discipline or scare one if they annoy him too much. If he was to see an abandoned baby, he would most likely care for it until it has a mind of its own. He also won't take responsibility if the child accidentally injures itself when he lets them play.
Then my brain came up with a weirdly sweet slight-AU based on the fact that we don't have an official age for Moxxie.
Moxxie was originally born in the Wrath Ring but his parents died in the Pride Ring on Extermination Day when he was still a baby.
His crying caught the attention of the infamous Radio Demon, but Alastor's moral code prevented him from killing a child. Seeing the remnants of Moxxie's parents, he didn't bother trying to find whom the baby belonged to.
Alastor named him "Moxxie" since (A) he didn't know the kid's name and (B) he'd proclaimed "You've got moxie!" when he'd realized a baby had managed to escape the Exterminators that had killed his parents.
Though Alastor has an aversion to touch, Moxxie is one of the few people in Hell who can touch the overlord freely without wondering if he's going to loose his hand in the process.
Moxxie's dislike of Blitzo invading his personal space is partially because it was one of the things about his foster father that really bugged him growing up.
Alastor taught Moxxie music and how to use guns and knives. He tried to teach Moxxie shadow magic as well but Moxxie didn't have the power or aptitude for it.
Moxxie's habit of not swearing as much as other imps spawned from Alastor doing much the same thing. The same with creating a moral code and sticking to it.
Alastor attempted to feed Moxxie demon flesh originally but stopped when it made the little imp sick. Even though it was a nuisance to buy more "normal" food on the regular, Alastor refused to do that again. Moxxie is fully aware that his foster father is a cannibal but grateful that Alastor didn't turn him into one, too.
When Moxxie was old enough to strike out on his own, the duo agreed to keep their relationship quiet. Those who'd seen Alastor with a little imp assumed that he either ate the imp or the two had a falling out. Really, it's more for Moxxie's protection given one of Alastor's enemies might think to use him as leverage and hurt him in the process.
Due to having to keep their relationship quiet, Millie has no idea that her husband is the foster son of the Radio Demon, particularly since Alastor never attended their wedding. However, she knows that Moxxie saved a letter from his "dad" that apologized for not being there and wished him and her a happy marriage.
On the rare occasions Moxxie is absolutely enraged, the faint sound of radio static can be heard due to being exposed to so much of Alastor's magic from such a young age.
While Alastor let Moxxie deal with the consequences of his own actions from the minute he was old enough to understand cause and effect, if anyone tried to harm Moxxie in an attempt to get at Alastor, Alastor would ensure that they'd be a "special guest" on his radio program. As he spends time at the Hazbin Hotel, the other hotel denizens fall under that same sort of protection. Milie also gains this protection initially because she's Moxxie's wife.

“You bring dates here now?”
Everything in you goes tense at the sound of the voice. It’s light, the words sound like they’re an attempt at a joke, but when you look at Yoongi his face doesn’t reflect the tone. His eyes are wide as they flick between you and the man next to you, his smile looks forced. Part of your brain tricked you into believing, perhaps hoping, that Yoongi wasn’t working tonight to see this, but of course, there he stands.
Even after all the drinks you’ve had tonight, you feel sober under his gaze. You force a smile to your lips as you watch Yoongi’s eyes continue to flick between you and the man stood next to you. Yoongi has never seemed like someone with a judging character but even you can see his mind working.
“This is Jimin,” you refrain from looking at him as you stick your thumb in his direction, you know the smile that hasn’t left his lips since he convinced you to bring him here will still be there. “My stupid friend who’s bought me way too many drinks tonight already.”
“And who’ll be buying her at least one more,” Jimin cuts in, moving forward to make himself comfortable on one of the bar stools. “We’ll have two of your finest G&Ts please Yoongi.”
If Yoongi catches the fact that Jimin has called him by his name without you introducing him, he doesn’t say anything. You take a seat next to Jimin as you watch Yoongi pour out your drinks. If your leg was closer to the ground and not dangling off the bar stool you’re sure it would be bobbing with nerves. You can practically feel Jimin buzzing next to you. He really needs to calm down.

Villain slipped their phone from their pocket and glanced briefly at the pink banner stretched across their screen before turning back to their work.
Wait.
They tore out their phone once again.
You matched with Supervillain! the notification congratulated ecstatically, a little confetti emoji dogging each end. Send them a message!
Villain’s stomach lurched.
No. No no no. This wasn’t supposed to happen. When Supervillain’s profile popped up on their dating app, it had been funny. They’d never expected to see the master criminal on something so…civilian. And maybe it had also been a little sad because their superior had never even hinted at wanting a relationship. And yes, Villain found them attractive, and maybe that also played a part. But ultimately, they had only swiped up because they knew the master criminal would never find out. Both parties had to swipe up in order for a match to be made, meaning Supervillain would have had to see their profile too and…and… Maybe this was prank account. Yeah. That had to be it.
“Villain,” Henchman said from behind their shoulder.
Villain nearly dropped their phone on the floor, but somehow they managed to keep their voice calm as they swiveled around. “Yes?”
“Supervillain wants to see you in their office right away.”
