Some incidental @inuyasharedraw banner appreciation... these two inspiration images juxtaposed together in this month's banner gave me a sillier idea for the May theme 😛
Today is Father's Day.
Modern InuParents AU in which Izayoi collects unique figures and thrifts a poseable warrior-looking guy. He sat on the shelf for so long that there was a lot of dust that needed to be cleaned up. In her excitement, she didn't think much of how relieved the shop owner was to be rid of it at last.
Took him home and gave his hair a brush, cause that originally looked like a toddler got a hold of it. The only thing she hasn't figured out is how to remove the clothes to properly wash them; there's no velcro strips or snaps along the back. While the accessories were left to soak in a microwaveable container with a squirt of dish soap, she gives the rest of the doll a wipe down with a wet cloth, assuming that he's just sewn into his clothes.
...But what if this doll has a secret curse attached to it that izayoi doesn't know about? 👀

A Better Idea
So, after re-watching the Inuyasha Movies, I have come to realize that, with 3 of those 4 storylines combined, Sunrise and Yashahime productions could come up with some simple, but at the same time dark, sequel that would had a lot more potential. Let me show you comrades:
First of, we start with the villain, Menomaru, antagonist lf the first movie. He is the son of Tôga old rival, that tried to conquer the Great Dog lands in the past. He returns for revenge and achieve what his father could not. Fair enough, a villain with a reliable motivations, which can be associated with Tôga and expand his lore. With that, we have the main villain.
Second, we have his most powerfull resource, which relies at the Sõ’unga, the Sword from the third movie. In the original, it is a weapon made from a Hell Dragon, with massive destructive strikes and the hability to create undead. In this storyline, Menomaru is able to conquer this sword from hell (similar to Tôga and the meidou stone), and uses it to create a giant army of imortal zombies to face Sesshoumaru.
Third, there are the 4 Yokai "Gods", the Shitôshin, from the Fourth movie. They are very strong, but would also be dead. With Sõ’unga, Menomaru would revive them and uses the 4 as his generals, each one with a specialized function in his tactics to conquer the West.
With this, we have a solid villain, with an interesting past, strong means, and powerfull weapons. To face him, the story would have to show some more of this "yokai high society", that involves the clans, Sesshoumaru's mother, castles and big battles. Of course, the Lord of the West would need to recruit his brother's gang to help destroy Menomaru.
But, we can't just forget the Heirs, after all, this is a sequel. The next generation would be the new protagonist, yes, but also would be doing a comprehensive and functional mission, with a resionable motivation, to help defeating the 4 generals and face the ultimate battle against Menomaru.
They would be Towa and Setsuna? Moroha? I can't tell, and do not know if they are exactly the best option. Maybe, this time, raised by their parents, it would make sense to change their personalities to something better. I am talking about Towa and Setsuna of course.
About Sesshoumaru's wife? If would be a new character? If would be a ressurrected Kagura? Also, don't know. But I can assure you, DEFENITELY NOT RIN.

I wish there was more or just a glimpse of how much she suffered losing Touga.
