One day he will stare out at the skyline outside his window which he always leaves unlatched and then gather his cane, his gloves, and walk out to the harbour to finally, finally join the girl that was always his home.

Hello, this is my first post ever, so please forgive me if I am going to make a few mistakes in the beginning.
I have decided to write a fanfiction for one of my favorite characters ever: The Darkling from Shadow and Bone.
In the next few days I am going to post a few things beforehand (for the story) and I hope you will read them!

Hello everybody out there, I am so happy, that YOU found my story!
Unfortunately I am not that great with writing forewords, mostly because I believe the majority of you won't even read through this small paragraph. Nevertheless I still want to write one, since I want to mention a few things beforehand that are necessary in consideration of this story.
If your not interested to read this, then just skip this chapter, but do not say I didn't warn you!
As you might have already read on my cover, this story is a fanfiction about the „Shadow and Bone- Series" from Leigh Bardugo. But this story purely revolves around the book-series and not the tv-series. Personally I have watched the tv-series, but I have read the books first and want to make this as accurate as possible. So if you were hoping to see Kaz Brekker or any other six of crows character I am sorry to disappoint you. Luckily I have decided to write a fanfiction about the six of crows series as well, which will come out soon enough!
After the first book I immediately fell in love with the darkling and (since I am kind of a fangirl myself) I looked up for stories for this amazing (morally grey) character. Instantly I noticed that even though he seems to be a favourite, there still weren't a lot of stories about him. That's why I decided why not write my own series with a love story for one of my favourite characters!
Now to the important stuff: English is not my native language, which means I haven't read the books in english either. Moreover with English not being my native language there are bound to be grammar, spelling and orthography mistakes. I try not to make as many and I promise I control my texts beforehand, but there can always be typos, they happen to everyone and apparently they just seem to love me very much. If you happen to notice some, please inform me of them so I can correct them, but please do so in a friendly polite way. Another thing with me not having read the English version, there might be some dialogs which will sound different than in the books, since I will be translating them from German to English. Please forgive me for that!
Since I am still young (17) and I still go to school, I am going to be pretty busy throughout the year. That is why I want to inform you beforehand,that I will probably update irregular and depending on how much time I have, it could take a long while till my next update for this story.
If you want you will also be able to find this story on wattpad under graceful_bumblebee (in a few days I will update the same post I uploaded here).
I only own my protagonist and I hope you can give her a chance!
Now I have talked far enough! Enjoy the story which will begin in the next few chapters.

This is not suppose to be hate directed at the actual actors or regisseur who picked them out (personally I love them as well, but like I've said I imagined them differently).

For Mal I am not quite sure how I imagined him, but definitly different from the actor in the series. I thought Dylan O'Brien fit the role really good, but I am not quite satisfied with the actor for Mal (yet). Hopefully it doesn't bother any of you!
On 19th September the first part of the story is going to be published! It’s only going to be the prologue, but I’m so exited!
