"the movie is starting, quick!"
scattering, you sort out the couch and place the blankets and pillows in their rightful areas before sitting in your seat, waiting for your boyfriend to tinally come downstairs after his so called bathroom break. you bring the chinese takeout you ordered closer to the two of you so there was less effort when having to eat something during the movie
"you take forever, did you know that?" you sighed as satoru finally takes a seat beside you, placing an arm around your shoulder.
"excuse me i just want to look good for you my love." he smiles cheekily, before earning a scoff from you.
it's silent for a few moments, before the movie finally begins, and the two of you chose to watch tangled; yet again. how are you not tired of this movie? satoru asks every time, where you respond with a: if you love something so much, then it shouldn't be tiring at all.
every few minutes or so, you shifted in your seat, placing a pillow beside you, or moving closer to satoru to find the perfect position, until you've finally found solace on his sculpted thighs.
"you're so comfy to lay on, satoru." you snuggle in closer to his body as he chuckles.
"is that all i am to you? a pillow?" you laugh, pulling him closer to your body and ignoring his question as your favourite scene in the movie follows, where eugene continues to tell rapunzel that she was his new dream as he dies in her embrace.
you sniffle for a few moment, letting droplets of tears onto satoru's lap, until he shifts you back upright into your seat and stares at you for a few moments.
"can we eat the fortune cookies now?" he asks.
"i thought you wanted to eat them last, you always do." you bring the fortune cookies that were on each designated side for the two of you, satoru taking the cookie on the left side of the table, and you taking the cookie on the right side of the table.
"i wanted to switch things up a bit." he smiles, which you found rather suspicious.
"alright then, but if i don't like my fortune i'm gonna pretend we never had these in the first place." you scowl, ripping the packet off of the fortune cookie which you would never had expected to open so early in the night.
he counts down, and the two of you grip the seams of the snack, before snapping it into two, expecting some half ass fortune like "luck will come your way". instead, you're blessed with a silver band, holding a diamond, glaring at your eyes as if to say: i belong to you.
you gasp as you look at the ring in your hands, and blink back at your boyfriend who's recomposing himself and clearing his throat. he budges closer to you, as tears well up in your eyes.
"satoru, is this a-" you choke up.
"y/n, i've spent four years with you, four years that i've loved, i want to keep spending these years with you and grow old together. and i chose to propose to you here, because i think you'd much rather the sentiment of this memory taking place in our apartment living room, rather than some fancy restaurant that we both know will cost a fortune. so, i'm just going to be straight up with it, l/n y/n, the light of my life, the person of my dreams, will you marry me, gojo satoru, the most annoying man in the world?" sobbing, you nod shakily and quickly slip the ring on your fingers before abruptly pulling him in for a hug, as he rubs circles on the small of your back.
"what if you don't want to marry me anymore? what if you get tired of me satoru?" even as the credits to the movie show, you wail louder, unsurprisingly.
satoru exhales heavily before staring at you for a prolonged minute. "it's just as you said, if you really love something, it won't be tiring at all." it stays that way for a few more moments, until you wipe away your tears and pull away from satoru
"is this why you wanted to eat the fortune cookies early?"
"honey, you're so clueless, i thought you would've already picked that up." he laughs heartily as he holds you in his embrace again.

"i've just met my soulmate." you sit down at the lunch table with the same three friends you always sit with; kugisaki nobara, yuuji itadori, and megumi fushiguro. your excited smile is wiped off as soon as you realised that none of them had paid attention. "um, excuse me, where is the reaction." as sassy as your remark was, nobara sighed.
"y/n, you tell us this every week, and it's always just some guy you made eye contact with for like fifteen seconds." she wasn't wrong, but you fall easy.
maybe it was your subconscious insecurity, but you enjoyed the fact that every once in a while a stranger you'd meet whilst you did things as mundane as grocery shopping would make eye contact with you longer than intended; thus resulting into a spiral of fantasies where you'd imagine yourself in a relationship with said stranger, only to forget about them a week later like a fleeting memory.
silence falls between the four of you, until you spoke up for a moment, trying to stand your ground, "actually we made eye contact for twenty seconds." it came out as more of a mumble than a speech, causing your friends to burst into a small fit of laughter.
"like that was gonna prove your point l/n-san." yuuji, a trusty friend of yours laughs as he attempts to take a sip from your milk carton. you swat him away, before sticking out your tongue saying how the carton was yours and you spent 150 yen on it.
"you broke bitch." nobara utters snarkily.
"i'm frugal." you enunciate.
the three of them couldn't understand your knack for finding every occasional stranger on the street attractive and then giving them the honour of the title "soulmate" despite meeting them for a second. the only person who could relate with you on this was sadly miwa, but she was barely around for you to be able to converse with in person. thankfully social media exists.
you: miwa chan
you: i made eye contact with someone for like twenty seconds i think its fate
miwa: WERE THEY CUTE
you: i can confirm, they were definitely to our tastes
miwa: YOU SHOULDVE MADE A MOVE
you: NO
after that, you put your phone back in your pocket, ignoring the incessant notificafions of your blue haired friend going wild in your messages.
lunch time finishes, so you, yuuji, nobara and megumi clear up your things for your classes. being the nice friend you were, you offered to take everyone's things for them and throw their rubbish in the bin, only to have megumi help you out as well, saying it's unnecessary for you to be the only person cleaning up.
you throw a gentle smile, "thank you megumi~" you coo lovingly, as he rolls his eyes for the nth time today and you laugh, following after him.
"we're heading off first, we'll see you guys in class!" yuuji waves energetically, as if you'd never notice him bidding his adieu.
cleaning up your hands, you politely give megumi some of your hand sanitizer that's been scented with aloe vera, a fragrance he favours rather greatly and continues to ask for more.
"i'll run out at this point, dipshit." you say, squirting one last portion of the gel as he inhales the scent of his poised hands before breaking out into a fit of coughing. "karma's a bitch megumi kun."
he glares as brings his hands towards your face, trying to get you to eat the aroma of your own sanitizer, "oh yeah?"
your bodies move closer and closer, with you only screeching as his laugh bellows in the empty hallways, arms intertwined comfortably, yet playfully.
"megumi kun! y/n chan! stop canoodling whilst you have your next classes with me, your favourite teacher~" gojo is pouting like a child, yet teases as he watches the two of you act like teenagers in love- never mind.
suddenly, megumi's face is teeming with a shade of crimson and clears his throat as you look down at your feet, a habit you tended to whenever you were flustered.
"sorry sensei, come on megumi." you hold eye contact for a few moments.
just a little longer, he thinks.
and you walk away from him to your class as he watches your back proceed away from him for about thirty seconds.
if you could just turn around.
a/n: i need to stop posting so sporadically
yeah we are all happy for nobara's return and probably megumi's but that just makes the theory of yuji dying on the battlefield surrounded by his loved ones a theory that might become true. killing nobara just after her return would be pointless and killing megumi when his whole journey was to learn how to live doesn't make any sense. there's so many pieces of media where a character's death was predicted from the very start, they were doomed since the beginning and the only way to finish the story and save everyone is with their death. we are closer to the 'yuji will die but the rest will survive' theory and I'm not okay.

Heterosexual shippers in the jjk fandom is a prime example of the double standards between queer ships and het ships.
I think we all know the amount of flak queers ships receive with comments such as “they’re just friends” that aren’t used against het ships. All the m/f relationships (besides mechamiwa) are canonically platonic and will stay platonic, as confirmed by the author. Yet people seem to dismiss this in favor of their het ships and claim that they’re canon.
People are quick to pair Yuuji and Nobara (which we all know is simply because Nobara is a girl and Yuuji is a boy) and no one blinks an eye but If I were to head down to the YouTube comment sections and say I ship Megumi and Yuuji, I would get slammed with responses telling me “their just friends, stop making everything gay” even though yuuji and nobara are just as platonic, probably even more so than Yuuji and Megumi.
You know it’s funny seeing dudebros commonly make jokes on how “Yaoi fangirls” ship male characters who even hate it each other and then try to tell me Gojohime (Gojo x Utahime) is canon. Utahime, a woman who canonically dislikes Gojo, a man who canonically causes her stress will always be interpreted as a “Tsundere” even though that’s not what her character represents. Nanago (Gojo x Nanami) which is basically the same ship dynamic as gojohime isn’t treated as fairly. In a jujutsu Stroll episode, Gojo asks Nanami out on a date, but if you ship them, you’re just a crazy fangirl but if we were to replace Nanami with Utahime during that scene, we all know Gojohime would considered “basically canon” unlike Nanago
Satosugu (Gojo and Getou), the most heavily romantic coded paring in the entire series yet people still can’t fathom why others ship it.
Yeah just ignore the romantic language, the romantic break up theme songs, literally their entire relationship and I could see where you’re coming from.
And don’t get me started on the Yutamaki and Nobamaki debate. On any Nobamaki post you’ll see floods of comments claiming that “Maki has a crush on Yuta” because she blushed in that one scene, completely ignoring the fact that in Gege’s old art style, blushing is common and is mostly used to enhance a character’s emotion. Using the “Maki blushed argument”, that must mean Yuta must have a crush on Inumaki because he blushed while looking at him right?
Not only that but Nobara and Maki mutually blush in a scene where Gege uses their new style where blushing is used more sparingly but that doesn’t seem to count. Instead, many straight people will riot against Nobamaki with claims such as “They’re a sibling relationship!” or “Nobara just compliments Maki a lot because she views her as her role model” as if their specific interpretation is the objectively correct one.
I don’t care if you ship an m/f ship, but stop putting down queer ships and giving het ships special treatment.
Sorry for the rant-y post, the terrible comments under a Nobamaki tiktok post just tipped me over the edge.
Edit: I already know m/f experience hate or whatever but personally I just really don’t care. Why? Because the reasonings are different. Shipping discourse will always occur but the discourse surrounding queer ships are ALWAYS a result of homophobia, actual real world consequences. This was a post about the double standards between queer ships and het ships being valid, these standards stemming from homophobia.
