Hi! Once again the Riku brain rot has consumed my entire being, so here's some headcanons I've created (not in any particular order).

BASIC HCS 💕

He's Handy! He can fix almost anything. He loves tinkering with his Gummi Ship!

His favorite food is grilled fish! White fish specifically, like flounder, sea bass, tilapia, etc. And he has a taste for savory treats, which combats Sora's sweet tooth.

He comes from a loving home. He loves his parents, a lot and they love him. However, his biological mother passed away when he was 7ish (after BBS, but before Kairi arrived). His father became emotionally unavailable for a while, until he met Riku's stepmom. She filled her motherly role over Riku and he thanks her for it. He loves his step mom!!!

His dad taught him a variety of things like: self defense, how to fix common things, fishing, basic survival skills, and the basics of building

He moved out after KH2, and got his own place. The reason why is because after everything he's been through he needs his own space to brood about how small everything is. Albeit sad, his father approved and has the land lady check up on him every so often 🥺 Riku helps outs his elderly land lady and pays rent on TIME! He's a responsible boy 😊

Riku isn't all into fashion but he can DRESS. He loves a good "urban/street wear" look, and fucks heavy with grunge. He appreciates the chains and skull designs that come with "punk" fashion but doesn't think he can pull it off

Riku doesn't spend a needless amount of time on his looks. He has gel for his hair, a skin care routine, and a nighttime ritual to keep his hygiene up. He's very much a pretty boy in our eyes, but that's just his genes. He does the bare minimum to keep himself looking presentable

Speaking of his looks, he surprisingly gets his good genes from his dad. The muscles, the hair, the jaw line, all from his old man. His father was most definitely a looker back in the day! That being said, Riku has his mother's smile and her eyes. He also carries her temperament with him.

Along with tinkering being a hobby of his, he likes video games too! But he's not a complete shut in video game nerd. Riku LOVES the outdoors. The wilderness calls him like he's a feral animal !!! He likes camping, and fishing! He's the main guy on the islands you'd go to for some handy survival tips. He knows a good amount of edible plants, fungi, berries, leaves, and etcetera to eat if he ever got stranded. He has one or two books on that kind of stuff but he doesn't read it anymore.

After the events of KH2, Riku didn't go back to highschool. Instead he got a GED (or KH equivalent) online and started taking community college courses. He's doing it to make his dearly departed mother proud.

To add on to that, Riku is a fast learner. He's quite intellectual when it comes to mathematics, some history, and biology but please don't ask him why the author made the curtains blue 😭 the boy is emotionally stunted. He is NOT using critical thinking when it comes down to poetry or thick prose. He has some emotional intelligence but compared to Sora, he might as well have the emotional capacity of a brick wall 😭

Question:

Where did the whole Riku doesn't like PDA thing come from?

Like baby I can recount at least 3 times where Riku was hugged/held hands with someone in times of respite, and wasn't off put about it.

Sora grabbed his hands and SOBBED on him in KH2.

Sora tackled and HUGGED him twice in KH3D in front of so many people.

Riku himself lifted and hugged Michael fucking Mouse at the end of KH2.

Please god the boy doesn't mind being touched. Release him from the shackles of No PDA in these 'x Readers/OCs.'

Sure, maybe you need to be decent friends with him to have access to his body (like any normal fucking person), but please.... PLEASE release this boy and hug him. He deserves a hug after everything he's been through.

I hope in KH4 Riku gets himself in trouble.

I hope in KH4 Sora is the one to protect Riku and not the other way around.

I hope in KH4 Sora realizes what Riku means when he says "Strength to protect the things that matter."

I hope in KH4 Sora finds his strength. His inner one, not the one connected to friends.

I hope in KH4 Sora and Riku have a REAL talk about the shit that happened to them.

I hope in KH4 Riku tells Sora how much him and Kairi mean to him. And how they kept him going.

I hope in KH4 they laugh together.

I HOPE IN KH4 KAIRI SHOOTS DOWN FROM THE FUCKING SKY LIKE A BADASS TO SAVE THOSE TWO IDIOTS.

Love how we as a collective (the KH fandom), just kinda ... Glossed over the fact that Riku turned into a black man for like 2/3rds of a game 😭

My niece was so confused cause she loves Riku just as much as I do. So, I tried to explain it to her.

Me: So that guy Riku turned into was Ansem Seeker of Darkness

Niece: Okay?

Me: And he took over Riku thru the darkness---

Niece: And the darkness transferred to his skin 🤨

Me: 💀 no... Wait....

I think Kingdom Hearts fans need to let Riku heal and let Sora have any other emotion beside "happy"

I hate the whole "It was all a dream" theories but like, Imagine:

Sora wakes up from what feels like a dream that has lasted for an eternity. He's in a hospital bed, monitors beeping, and flowers from 3 days ago wilting by his bedside. A balloon tied to the railings of his bed says, "Get Well Soon." Sleeping in the most uncomfortable position on that infamous hospital chair is Riku—his childhood best friend.

Sora coughs out his name, his tongue dry and shriveled in his mouth. Riku opens his eyes, half in the realm of sleep half conscious. At first Riku thinks he hallucinated Sora saying his name---a trick of 3 years of Sora being in a coma and his guilt about it. But then he hears it again, Sora calling out his name with a few coughs in between. When Riku whips his head around to the hospital bed and sees Sora's groggy eyes blinking, he immediately calls a nurse. Sora asks him for water, agitated that Riku is spewing out random shit and asking if he's okay rather than getting him the damn water.

"Where's Kairi?"

"I just called her. She'll be here soon."

Sora asks where The King, Donald, and Goofy is, and Riku just looks at him confused.

"Who's the King?"

"You know," Sora takes a moment to cough as the nurse checks his vitals. "Mickey."

"Mickey????" Riku pieces together 'Mickey, Donald, and Goofy' in his head. "You mean Mickey Mouse???????"

"Yeah. The King."

"You mean like,,,, Mickey Mouse Club House????"

"The King has a clubhouse? Why wasn't I invited?"

"...I'm glad you're still a Disney adult, Sora."

It takes a while for Sora to fully recover. He has to relearn how to walk, talk, eat, all of his general and fine motor skills. All the while, Sora explains the entire plot of Kingdom Hearts to Riku and Kairi. The keyblade, the darkness, Ansem (who happened to be their science teacher back in highschool), and Xehanort (Riku's boomer landlord his first year in college).

At times Sora still tries to summon a keyblade. But the light and darkness, the magic and the danger of heartless do not exist in this world. He watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to fill the severed connection to Donald and Goofy. Riku jokingly calls him a baby, and Sora laughs about it, but he can't help but feel empty inside.

All those lives he touched, all those people he met. Figments of his comatose imagination.

There’s nothing better than being reunited with someone you care about.

Riku is secretly in a leotard.

I need to fucking sleep man. I was doing so good on this till i had to draw Sora- like wtf happened. I'm so sorry Sora ur animation looks so choppy. Anyway I just finished the Gay Blade fight *Cough Cough* I mean Aqua's fight, and thought this audio would fit them really well. It does, I just wish I did better job at animating it.

Villain Soriku au where whats-his-face finds Riku & Sora before whoever finds them in the original does. Can u tell i've only play Kingdom Hearts 3 [from what I remember] Their both wearing really tall high heels btw, like 5 inch heels. [which is tall to me since i never wear heels so-]

The two people fighting in the background of that one scene are Riku & Aqua btw. They had a fight after Sora sacrificed himself to save Kairi. It was something along the lines of Aqua telling Riku he can't go searching for Sora, and he, being emotionally unstable, snapped and yelled at her.

I swear I’m not insane, there is a non-zero chance Soriku could happen.

This part in the novel has been living in my mind for a while now 😭 Sora’s heart skips a beat honey you’re in love

SoRiku Shipping wars?

I have to address the elephant in the room. I am DEDICATED to SoRiku and they are top tier of my OTPs. This blog is for supporting and PROVING that the ship does in fact have stable grounds. I AM NOT IN ANY WAY PARTICIPATING IN THIS SHIPPING WAR THING. Despite what others may think i am actually OPEN TO ALL IDEAS AND KAIRI IS A PERSONAL FAV CHARACTER OF MINE. But on this blog It is dedicated to giving the SORIKU PROOF light and if that means COMPARING THE TWO SHIPS I will not hesitate to do so. THERE IS NEVER ANY HATE FOR SOKAI SHIPPERS OR THE SHIPPING ITSELF.
