PDX101 Top 11 List + the trainee that I want to be saved

this was extremely hard to narrow down because I really,, felt like there were so many talented people. especially this time around. I sincerely wish the best to all of them, and to those eliminated, I wish to see them debut someday.

this list, in my opinion, has a good balance of visuals, vocals, rappers, and dancers. that being said, I still think it’s missing someone very important: baekjin from vine. I want to save baekjin because I think he’s extremely underrated and it’s a shame that his last stage didn’t go so well. baekjin fighting!

6. I really wanna kiss you.

[10:39 p.m.] it’s friday and the night is still young. people like to go out on fridays; to the movies, to the club, to some frat party, but you and your best friend (now long-time crush) lee jinhyuk are in your dorm, playing a fierce game of truth or drink. here you both were, sitting cross-legged in front of each other, with two shot glasses and a bottle of vodka next to you. so far, you aren’t entirely sober, but you can still make sane choices. or so you think.

“so, y/n, truth or drink?” jinhyuk asks you, a slight twinkle in his now lidded eyes. you leaned back against your couch and stretched your arms out. exhaling you reply, “truth”. screw it, at this point, what do you have to hide? you see jinhyuk smile smugly at your choice, and he clears his throat before asking, “what do you think about when you see me?” without missing a beat, you respond “I really wanna kiss you.” you’re frozen, eyes wide and mouth agape. what the hell did you just say? what are you thinking, you’re going to mess up your relationship! how could you-

you’re taken aback suddenly when jinhyuk leans in and gathers you onto his lap, arms secured around your waist. you close your eyes and your breath hitches. “you’re unbelievably beautiful, you know that, y/n? I really wanna kiss you, too.” and with that, he leans in and you feel a jolt of electricity run through you as your lips meld perfectly with his. your hands begin making their way into his hair, and jinhyuk’s grip around you tightens when you gently pull on his sepia locks. this friday night was the best friday night you’ve spent in forever, and you wouldn’t want it any other way.

okay this one hurt, like really. but it’s done. i’m sorry if angst wasn’t what you had in mind for this one, but I just,,, I had to write it this way. regardless, I hope you like it.

3. how much did you hear?

[1:59 p.m.] the production crew usually let the trainees leave the dorms on sundays, to take care of whatever they needed to- be it visiting their families, running errands, anything of that sort. on sundays, jinhyuk usually went to your house and you two would spend the day together, and then he’d spend the night and leave early the next morning to report back to the dorms. today, jinhyuk was here, too. it’s been around an hour or so, but he’s been sitting in your shared bedroom for some time now, with the door closed. curious, you went to the door and gently knocked. after no response, you opened the door, to find him sitting on the edge of the bed, phone pressed to his ear, and his shoulders shaking.

“please, jinwoo, please do not give up on your dream. you are one of the most talented people I’ve met. you have so much potential it’s incredible. no matter who tells you what, never give up and remember, hyung’s always here for you.” his voice began to waver and crack in the last words, so he cleared his throat. your heart broke hearing this. you knew all about jinwoo and jinhyuk’s relationship. jinhyuk truly cherished him like he was his younger brother, and you saw the relationship depicted accurately on the broadcasts, too. when jinwoo didn’t make it to the next round, you called jinhyuk after the broadcast ended, consoling him. he kept his guard up, even then. but now, the poor man was in a vulnerable state, and it absolutely tore you to pieces seeing the scene unfold in front of you.

“alright, jinwoo, I’ve got to go, but take it easy, alright? and as I said before, if you need anything else, give me a call, okay? bye.” as soon as he hung up the phone, you went and sat next to jinhyuk, who had his face in his hands and let out small whimpers. you held him in your arms, running your hand across his back, rubbing it softly. he wrapped his arms around you once he had calmed down a bit. “how much did you hear?” his thick voice vibrated from your neck. “it doesn’t matter, what matters is you’re hurting right now. and it’s my job to bring you comfort, and ensure that your mind is put to ease. you were so brave on the broadcast, baby, you didn’t shed a tear. but you’re only human, and it’s only natural for you to show your emotions and not bottle them in. I’m glad you’re getting to let it out now than letting it sit in your heart and boil over.”

jinhyuk lifted his head to look you in the eye. you took in the sight of your boyfriend, eyes puffy and bloodshot, nose red and yet he managed to still look flawless. “that’s not fair,” you pouted. jinhyuk tilted his head to the side a little, a quizzical look on his face. “how do you look this good, even after crying? ah, I look like a whole clown after crying.” hearing this, jinhyuk laughs a little. “hey, are you agreeing? you’re supposed to say that I look great, no matter what.” you reply jokingly, laughing along with him and for a couple minutes, nothing but the symphony of you both’s laughter is heard in the room. jinhyuk rested his forehead against yours and said, “thank you, y/n, for everything; for being here, for making me feel better, for being in my life. I love you.” “I love you too, baby.”

what is this that i’m hearing about....  #바이나인_데뷔해

if this comes true, then i’d be over the moon, i’ll cry again, but instead of tears of sadness, they’ll be tears of happiness.

because think about it: if it includes all the nine members that couldn’t debut, they would make a great team, in my opinion.

here it is! I had fun writing this one too, I hope you enjoy the read!!

1. things get messy the first time you meet.

[12:35 p.m.] finals week is a pain. that is something everyone can agree on; whether they’re high school finals or graduate school finals, everyone dreads the two weeks of studying and more studying, and a little more studying before going into their exams before either absolutely bombing them or absolutely passing them with flying colors. you would think that after seven semesters, you would have tackling finals in the bag. oh, how you’ve never been more wrong. here you sat: in the local campus cafe, your notes splayed out in front of you and different colored highlighters decorating said notes. you’ve been sitting there for about four hours now. it’s routine at this point: you study for an hour, then take a 15 min break and go get yourself a small latte. you would sip it slowly before realizing you had five minutes, then you would resort to chugging the hot coffee, and then you would continue studying. as of currently, you’re done with differential calculus, biochemistry and are about 80% through with inorganic chemistry. you look at the time and decide to take another break. you get up and head to the cash register with your wallet. you give the cashier your card as she says, “coming right up, y/n!” you give her a quick ‘thank you’ before returning to your seat and stretching a little. you know it’s dangerous to ingest the amount of caffeine you’ve had today, because you’re sure you’ve had enough to coffee to keep you awake for a year. but, you’ll do anything to pass that final. even if it means becoming a jittery mess by the end of it.

“one small vanilla latte for y/n!” the girl calls out, shaking you out of your thoughts. you beeline over to the serving station, where you pick up your coffee and turn around when BAAM. the coffee is pushed into your chest and spills all over your hoodie, the cup and its lid now abandoned onto the floor. you look up at the person who’s pushed the hot beverage against you to find it to be none other than lee jinhyuk, campus flirt and also top science student. you briefly know of each other because you’ve shared a handful of classes these past four years, but you’ve never actually spoken to each other. his eyes widen at the growing mess now splashed on your black hoodie and it was at this moment that you were glad you had a thick hoodie on, although you could slightly feel the warmth of the coffee that managed to seep through the fabric. “I’m so sorry, y/n! are you okay?” jinhyuk’s voice rings in your ears, and you just blink back at him. the color begins draining from his face as he sees your gaze gradually becoming more venomous by the second. you take a deep breath, closing your eyes. then you exhale, and you open them back up before giving jinhyuk a deathly smile. “it’s all good. i’m just going to go take a seat.” you grab the napkins jinhyuk frantically held in his hands and start dabbing at your hoodie, grumbling with low set eyes and you walk back over to your seat. not less than ten minutes later, a chair is pulled in front of you, and jinhyuk sits with two styrofoam cups in his hands. “here,” he offers you something. you look up at him and the steam radiating from the hot liquid. you assume it’s his way of apologizing, and right now, you need to take a break from chemistry, or you will lose it.

“thank you, jinhyuk.” you take a sip and your eyes shut in pleasure. it’s the same coffee you had ordered not too long ago; the coffee that you were now wearing. “how’d you know what it was?” you ask him, and he smiles, perhaps relieved that you didn’t lash out on him, or anything. “I’m personally not a coffee drinker myself; I prefer tea, but I asked the barista what you ordered, and she just told me what it was. so I ordered one. I’m sorry about dropping your coffee.” you take another sip of the liquid, before shaking your head, “it’s not a big deal, really. I guess I just... was moody. you know what finals can do to a person. I should be the one apologizing for the way I talked to you. it wasn’t your fault, I should’ve payed attention.” nodding, he drank his beverage. “is that inorganic chemistry?” you motions with his eyebrows towards the endless stack of papers sitting in front of you. you nod weakly, which then leads him to ask, “do you mind if I look at your notes?” you push them towards him. he picks them up and scans over them, inwardly noting how cute the little drawings of flowers and hearts were, adorned in the corners of the papers. “do you want me to help explain this to you?” you raised your eyebrows in protest. “no, I’m good. I don’t wanna keep you from studying or anything. you probably need to study for your exams too. thank you for the offer, but really, I’ll be fine.” jinhyuk leans in a bit, and the tips of your ears began to heat up. “listen, I don’t mind helping you study. I only have my inorganic chemistry final left, so if anything I’ll be helping the both of us out. and, if I can get the opportunity to study with a pretty girl like you, then of course I’m going to take it.” your eyebrows shot up at this. jinhyuk smirked at your silence and got up. “so i’ll see you at the library later at 5, deal? now come with me, let’s go get some food in you and not caffeine.” and with that, jinhyuk helps you pack you stuff and takes you by the hand towards the school cafeteria, and you follow, admiring the way your hand looks intertwined with his.

-distant gentle ugly sobbing-

a/n: based on this post, because I haven’t shown him love in a while and I miss him. so, so much.

[6:58 p.m.] the sky was splotched in shades of orange and blue, coming together to create a beautiful harmony, and you were trailing behind your childhood best friend, jinhyuk, as the wind blew strands of hair in your face. you messily moved them back and continued to walk strategically through the long, green strands of grass, avoiding any ant piles that are on the way. It’s clear to you that the maintenance of this field hasn’t been at its peak, but that doesn’t stop jinhyuk from continuing towards the batting cages. they always like those unlocked, for those who wanted to come and practice, or even just relieve stress. as the lead batter of his team, he’s taken on an important role of making sure his hits are clean and that he can bring someone home and it’s especially important for him to practice tonight because he’s got a game tomorrow evening. you’ve gone to every single one of his games, and you used to be a softball player, so you understand how important his position is on the team, and how vital his role will be for tomorrow. in one hand, jinhyuk carried his batting equipment and in the other, a sachet of spare baseballs. you had brought your face mask and glove with you so that you could stand at the other end and catch the hit baseballs. it’s been a while since you’ve played ball, though; with your grades quickly falling behind, it was fairly early on when you decided to drop the beloved sport, and you hadn’t really had a chance to play it since then. jinhyuk, however, was able to balance making good grades and playing baseball, so he continued even throughout high school so far.

“isn’t the weather great today? wah,” jinhyuk abruptly came to stop to admire the sky and turned back to look at you. you were again moving your hair out of the way, and the sight of that alone was enough to get jinhyuk’s heart racing. he would never let you know that he was crushing on you since as long as he could remember, and would die if you found out. still, he couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like to tuck your hair behind your ear, then let his fingers linger on your soft skin. he imagines holding your hand and running his thumb over your knuckles, and seldom also fantasizes what it would feel like to kiss you, under the moonlight and the shine of the stars. he represses these thoughts once again and puts a smile on as you enter the batting cage. you go to the other end, and hold your glove between your teeth as you reach back to tie your hair. “not sure how sanitary that is, y/n.” you rolled your eyes at him and took the glove out from your mouth, before smirking, “it’s fine, and besides, if I get sick, you’ll take care of me, right?” you shot him a wink after this which left the both of you surprised. how bold of you to indirectly flirt with the guy you like, great going, y/n rings through your head and you quickly clear your throat to change the topic, “ready to bat?” 

one after the other, jinhyuk swung the bat and the baseball would go flying your direction, where you would catch it in your glove and roll it back down by his feet. this went on for some time, then you decided to take a quick break, so you both grabbed your waters and sat on the metal bleachers. sweaty, panting, you drank down the water fast, and so did jinhyuk. by now, the sun had begun to set, and the wind began picking up its pace. you shivered on impact as the wind blew on your moist arms. jinhyuk noticed this and by instinct wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer to his torso. you pushed him away playfully and whined “you’re sweaty!”, to which he retorted, “shut up, you’re sweaty, too. here, let me help heat you up.” and with slight hesitation, he turned your face towards his with one hand, and gently pressed his lips against yours. your eyes were blown wide by this gesture, and you began to relax into the kiss, resting your hand on his neck, your nail gently scratching on the surface. jinhyuk sucked in a breath, and pulled you closer, as a reaction to this. his hands went down to your waist before he hoisted you into his lap. you gasped and he took this opportunity to slide his tongue into your mouth. you didn’t pull away until you physically felt the bottom of your lungs burning, desperate for oxygen. you rested your forehead on jinhyuk’s and his hands remained on your hips, now holding them with a much less fervorous manner. “I’ve been waiting too long to do that,” he says and you look up to find his espresso orbs staring back at you, holding nothing but adoration in them. “me too,” you breathe and you’re hoping he can’t hear your heart beating in your ears. “y/n, I want to take you out. on a date, I mean. I like you, so much. what do you say?” you pretended to think about it, which led to jinhyuk whining, “we just made out, what do you need to think about?” you laughed at his childish antics and pecked his nose, “tell you what, win tomorrow’s game for me, then we’ll grab dinner afterward. sound like a plan?” jinhyuk smiled a smile that made your heart swell, before nodding and pecking you on the lips once more, “deal. oh, and by the way, are you warm now?” you softly laugh and look back at him with a glint of mischief in your eye, and you pull him back towards your face saying, “I don’t know, I’m still a little cold.”
