What if the Hashira used Joint Attacks
.+. I need to preface this by saying that i love demon slayer and a lot of its fight scenes are some of the coolest and most engaging I’ve ever seen. With that said, fights that rely heavily on brute strength alone, as opposed to it being a battle of wits, cunning or strategy, have never been my favorite, purely because they get quickly repetitive and stale, at least to some degree. Hence why I love thinking about the way Demon Slayer could’ve played out if several other tactics had been employed during the fights; hence this idea of the Hashira fighting together as one. (I feel it’d also further solidify them being a unit working against a common enemy but I’m getting sidetracked.) .+.
So, what i mean by this is it would’ve been pretty dang neat to see The Hashira combine their techniques and, mainly, their Breathing Styles into joint attacks while fighting demons. It’s a pretty simple concept that, when expanded upon, creates some awesome visuals and narrative opportunities etc etc
Here’s some rough concepts I’ve come up with (and please feel free to throw your two cents into the mix I’m just. Violently Hyperfixated on this topic.)
Mitsuri and Shinobu would have some great potential in this, not only because they’re good friends, but also because i feel that they’d have a cool, spring and nature aesthetic with their attacks. Like maybe a move called ‘Illicit Love’ where Mitsuri acts as a distraction/bruiser while Shinobu gets in close to poison their opponent. Their visuals and themes just make me think of like… a predator that camouflages and hides in plain sight (much like a butterfly) but that becomes vicious and violent when threatened (like love).
While I’m on the Shinobu train, a joint move between her and Kanao called ‘Belladonna’ would be. So sick.
Tengen and Kyojuro immediately make me think of those circus performers who spin and swallow fire, so maybe one of their moves could be ‘Flameshow’ (i also have to mention that another move of theirs would obligatorily be called ‘Hot Flash’) Like maybe Kyojuro syncs his moves to Tengen’s ‘rhythm’ (aka the sequence in which he’s performing his moves)
My friend came up with this one and honestly, I just think Gyomei and Giyuu would make a killer duo, so maybe a ‘Petrichor’ move, where it’s more of a gentle kill, with Giyuu carrying it out and Gyomei delivering the final blow, like rain traveling towards the ground. Also, a ‘Mountain Stream’ move where Giyuu is like… almost ‘bouncing’ off Gyomei’s moves.
They also suggested a move called ‘Abditory’ between Muichiro and Tengen (at first i wasn’t so sure abt this duo but ngl they’d be pretty powerful while also being hilarious). Maybe Muichiro obscures Tengen while he pulls off his moves.
Also, ‘Prometheus’ would be a sick move for Gyomei and Kyojuro. I think it’d be very brutal, slow and painful.
Ah i also love ObaMitsu so how about an ‘Ouroboros’ move with a theme of cycles of abuse. I think the finishing blow of the move would be the breaking of the Ouroboros hit cycle, resulting in this absolute avalanche of killing blows.
I should probably get some Sanemi in here, and since he’s good friends with Obanai, they could have a move named ‘Feathered Serpent’ (because I’m an absolute mythology freak) Something about Sanemi enhancing Obanai’s move while he acts almost as a distorting shield.
(I should also throw in that I’d personally give all these moves distinct music tracks but that’s a lot to unpack and i feel that I’ve made my point)

Can we talk about Spock in The City on the Edge of Forever?? How when he sees Kirk catch Edith Keeler on the stairs and kiss her he goes to Kirk straight after and is like „well if you hadn‘t caught her she‘d be dead already“ straight up savage. I know it‘s about him being logical and knowing she has to die in order for the world to be saved but.. Spock sees Kirk kiss a woman and is like I need that bitch dead right now
