Chapter 1: a sudden appearance
Pairing: giorno giovanna / lucy steel
Summary: Lucy, being the hopeless romantic she was, dreamed of having a connection with her own prince charming.
What she didn't realize was that she was already her own prince charming to Cinderella.
Cinderella taking the form of giorno, a boy that one day, appeared out of nowhere in her stable.
If only she could spend more time with him, their meetings are always so short.
Author's note: thought I should finally write a fanfiction for this crackship :)!
Lucy was quite the bookworm, however she wasn't always this way, in fact, if you asked her years ago what she thought of the activity, then the blonde girl would politely tell you she wasn't the biggest fan of it.
Reading was always used as a learning tool in her experience, the encyclopedias she came across were always too heavy for her small hands and complicated for her mind.
It wasn't until her 7th birthday that she really took an interest in reading, when her parents gifted her a romance novel.
Lucy still remembered the first time she held it in her hands, how lighter it felt compared to the other books she had held, and how smoothly the pages turned, how engrossed she was in the story while reading.
Lucy still couldn't comprehend some of the words written, sometimes even having to ask her parents or older sibling what a certain phrase meant, however she didn't really care much, she just wanted to keep reading.
The first romance novel she read was still under her bed, she cherished it.
Lucy continued reading more books, she would even take trips to the library, so much so that the librarian recognized her, and would even give her a small smile.
Lucy would always smile back.
The small girl would read all kinds of different novels, however her favorite would always be romance. Her parents took notice of how her eyes sparkled whenever she read one and how a sad frown would appear on her face when finishing it.
The thought of romance fascinated the girl, the connection between two people, how close they can get to each other.
All of it was like a dream to her, she would always imagine how charming her future lover would be, how many activities they could do together.
Maybe if he was into books like her, then they might even read together!
Lucy had slowly but surely become not only quite the bookworm, but also quite the hopeless romantic.
Now she wondered just when cupid would hit her with his arrow.

İt was a cold night, yet the warmth of the fireplace soothed the blonde as she flipped through a page of her book . Lucy was re-reading a new novel she had gotten for her 9th birthday.
İt was a tale of two lovers that had gotten separated, yet through many adventures, they had once more found each other.
One thing that drew Lucy in was how both of the lovers could feel each other's pain and emotions while they were away from each other. Just the thought of feeling so strongly toward someone, to know them so well that you could feel every ounce of thought they had,was magical to her.
"Lucy, dear, it's almost time" her reading session was interrupted by her mother's words.
"yes ma, coming! " The girl quickly put down her book, as much as she hated stopping in the middle of the story, just when it was getting really interesting. She had things to take care of.
Lucy headed outside. The cold air hit her face as she walked toward the stable where the horses she had to feed were.
She opened the stable door and started to get work.
Lucy was the best with horses out of all of her siblings, so her parents would always send her out to take care of them, while her mom would cook food.
Lucy stretched her arms, she wanted to get back to her house as soon as possible, it was chilly and dark out, so it scared the little girl.
At least the horses were here, hopefully they could protect her from any robber that might appear. They seemed to like her a lot.
Just as she finished that thought, a loud thud hit her ears. Startled, she immediately turned around to the source of the noise.
She heard a groan, Lucy gulped.
She saw a shadowy figure slowly get up, the blonde took a step back, it was either a robber or a monster, or maybe her paranoia got the best of her.
"w-who's there?" she cried out.
The shadowy figure started to walk toward her, Lucy stepped back again, preparing to run away, she did not want to get hurt and possibly die at the hands of a robber.
Until the moon lit up the stable from its open doors, and she saw what the shadowy figure really looked like.
İt was a boy, no older than her age.
"y-you're not a robber? Are you?" she said in a quiet tone.
This couldn't be a robber or monster, he looked too young to be one.
Then again, she did hear stories from her mom from troublemaker kids trying to steal crops from their farm.
"robber?" the boy finally spoke.
"Yes, a robber, are you one? D-do you want to steal something?" she knew the question was stupid, no robber would out themselves by answering her.
"no" he replied curtly "uh…" his eyes turned toward the horses, then at her.
"I don't even know where I am" he said.
"oh… are you lost?"
The boy looked down at his shoes "I guess.." he replied.
"I See" she wasn't sure what to make of that response, but her once tense body relaxed. The boy didn't look like a threat, in fact he looked pretty scrawny, like one hit of the wind could blow him away.
"uh, what were you doing out so late?" she resorted to asking him a simple question "were you with your parents? They must be worried"
The boy took a few seconds to answer, Lucy was patient, she sympathized with him, she knew what it was like to be lost, and the fear that came with it.
"i don't know, i don't remember much"
Lucy frowned, he didn't look very fazed by his situation, yet she could still see him fidgeting with his shirt.
"well, what's your name? Mine is Lucy"
"giorno"
Giorno was not a name she had heard before, she wondered If he was foreign, looking closer at him, he looked like he was.
"okay ! It's uh, nice to meet you giorno" she said as she walked closer to him, putting out a hand, in hopes of a handshake.
Giorno hesitantly shook her hand, his hands were almost smaller then her hers.
"how old are you by the way?"
"10"
Lucy gasped and let go of his hand "you're older than me!"
Giorno blinked, taking a few seconds to talk again "how old are you?" he finally asked.
"i'm 9 years old"
Giorno only nodded.
"so.." Lucy spoke up, thinking of what to say "where do you come from? I never heard a name like yours before" Curiousity had gotten the better of her.
"i come from Italy"
She only hummed in response. Lucy had never heard of Italy before, she wasn't sure if she should tell the boy however. Lucy didn't want to come across as rude.
Lucy caught a brief look in his eyes, one that quickly went away as he gazed down again.
His eyes shifting toward every single thing.
Lucy felt a pit in her stomach.
Even though he looked so calm, he really was panicking inside.
"h-hey" she stuttered, catching the attention of giorno "I know it must be scary, being lost is really awful. My mom is cooking food so, maybe you can eat with us until we find a way to-"
"Lucy! Dinner is ready! Where are you? " the blonde was interrupted by her mother calling out for her.
Lucy shouted back "I'll be there!"
The girl turned back toward giorno, smiling, trying to reassure him "wait for me okay? I'll tell my mom what happened, I'm sure she can help more then me!"
"okay" giorno quietly said, nodding his head again.
Lucy quickly ran outside and grabbed her mother's hand.
"Lucy what are you-"
Lucy didn't say anything, she only dragged her mom along to the stable.
"mom there's a boy that-" Lucy stopped in her tracks "huh?"
Giorno wasn't there, she let go of her mother, searching every corner where giorno could be.
"did he..run away? Where is he?" she couldn't help but feel nervous, she had told him to wait, and now he was nowhere to be found.
Where could he be? That was the only question on her mind.
"Lucy, the food is going to get cold" her mother scolded her.
"but.." Lucy face fell "he was here just seconds ago.."
"who was?" her mother asked.
"it's..it's nothing" Lucy returned to where her mother was "i'm really sorry for making you wait ma"

Dinner that night didn't feel good.
She had lost her appetite and had gone to bed earlier then the rest of her family.
Maybe Giorno really was a robber, maybe he was just a figment of her imagination. She just didn't know.
Lucy came to the conclusion that it would be best to forget about him.
She still hoped however, that wherever he was, he was doing well, that's all that mattered in the end.

♡ to start, giorno initially hesitated to enter a relationship with lucy. not because he didn’t reciprocate her romantic feelings, but because he didn’t want to put her in danger thanks to his status. ironically, he fell in love with her first.
♡ even after they started going out, giorno was distant towards her for a while. he often reassures her that it wasn’t because of anything she did, but it’s because he doesn’t want anyone who wishes her harm to figure out who she is to him. as much as he’s protected her in the past, he still has doubts about his own ability to continue doing so in the future.
♡ lucy, of course, disagrees. she trusts giorno deeply, and he’s given her plenty of reasons to do so. she tries her best to reassure him that she’ll be perfectly fine, even as a potential target. she’s not naive enough to believe that she’ll remain unharmed, but lucy’s the type of girl to risk anything for her love.
♡ lucy gets through to giorno eventually, and he starts being much warmer towards her again.
♡ giorno will often make flowers for lucy with gold experience, and they’re always her favorites (roses and lilies).
♡ lucy always wears ladybug themed earrings in order to match giorno’s ladybug brooches. her go-to colors are red or blue, depending on which he wears that day.
♡ they’re not a couple that engage in a lot of pda. both because they’re more reserved and because they don’t want to make people uncomfortable. at most, giorno will offer lucy his arm or they’ll hold hands in crowds. behind closed doors, they’re a lot more lovey-dovey.
♡ giorno refers to lucy as his venus, because he thinks of her as being so pretty, that the goddess herself must’ve made her.
♡ lucy has been known to braid flowers into giorno’s hair from time to time. he’ll keep them in even if he has important meetings, because who’s going to tell him he can’t?
♡ being too shy to ask giorno directly, lucy is more likely to hug gold experience/requiem whenever she sees it.
♡ as creepy as requiem is to most people, lucy actually finds it rather cute. she finds immense comfort in it whenever she can’t see giorno in person.
♡ giorno likes to count lucy’s freckles! and if he’s feeling particularly affectionate that day, he’ll kiss each and every one. in response, lucy kisses the corner of his lips.
♡ sometimes they like to have their dates at home. they’ll preserve flowers together as a way to unwind, style each other’s hair, and so on.
♡ if lucy were to ever get into some sort of trouble, giorno would do one of two things. if she seems like she already has a plan in mind, he’ll follow her lead and ask her what she needs him to do without hesitation. if it’s something that she straight up can’t handle by herself, he’ll take over for her.

Jojo Monthly Redraw [7/9] - Steel Ball Run
This is the 7th of a total of nine drawings I'll do throughout the year. I'll be redrawing one scene from each part of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, from Phantom Blood to The Jojolands.
Steel Ball Run is my fav Jojo part, and you may know Gyro Zeppeli is my absolute #1 fav character among all Jojo characters (in fact, I got him tattooed a few months ago 💖). I don't really like westerns or racing competitions at all, but Araki nailed this part, imo.
Since it's my favorite part, but I have terrible memory and don't remember a lot of stuff, I'm currently rereading it, while I wait for the anime adaptation... and when I reached this scene, I thought it was the perfect scene to redraw it! I wanted to try to capture Lucy's dread... and try to draw new characters besides Gyro, lol.

seeing as i write lucy w passione most of the time (she deserved friends her own age!!!), here's my takes on their dynamics.

♡ as a whole, lucy feels out of place when she first meets everyone. they’ve accomplished so much in so little time, and so she puts them on a bit of a pedestal. she doesn’t consider herself a part of the group, and often questions her place with them because of her lack of stand and her (percieved) lack of strength. everyone else just assumes she’s shy, which is also part of the truth.
she initially gravitates towards the adults of the group because she’s more used to interacting with older people as opposed to her peers, and is seemingly more comfortable around them.
♡ out of everyone on team bucciarati, trish is the person that lucy’s closest with, and she’s someone that lucy longs to emulate. in her eyes, trish is a confident person who’s always in charge of the situations she finds herself in. because of this, lucy tries to follow her lead as best as she can. with trish’s influence, lucy allows herself to become more outspoken and to voice her needs without feeling guilty about it later.
lucy sees trish as the older sister she never had, and makes it clear that she’s happy they had the chance to meet.
♡ mista is the person that lucy warms up to first, because he always tries to involve her in conversations. she sees him as an older brother figure, and sometimes goes to him for advice if she thinks it’s something trish can’t help her with. whenever she puts herself in danger, he’s always a step behind her as backup. since he doesn’t try to dissuade her, lucy’s more comfortable relying on him in this way.
he taught her how to shoot, but he’ll still have the sex pistols help her out if she really needs it.
♡ lucy was intimidated by narancia to a certain degree, and that’s only because he’s one of the louder members of team bucciarati. once they’re a bit friendlier to each other, narancia’s a bit protective over her. it makes her feel slightly awkward because she’s not used to it, so she shies away sometimes.
narancia’s the one who tries to include her in stuff the most whenever he notices her sitting off to the side away from everyone else.
♡ giorno is someone that lucy holds a deep admiration for, yet she never expresses that out loud. a part of her is intimidated by him as well because she’s aware of how ruthless he can be towards his enemies, and doesn’t want to accidentally anger him too. it’s a little jarring to lucy when she sees him laughing and joking with the others.
as she becomes more comfortable with giorno, she shows a more affectionate side towards him, which manifests in her checking in on him as much as she can.
♡ it shouldn’t be a surprise that lucy and fugo have a good friendship going on. she understands his aversion to touch a bit too well, and will always sit across from him or on opposite ends to respect that. she’s not afraid of his anger, but will try to calm him down anyway– especially if it's anger born from frustration over something someone said or didn’t do.
being more quiet than the rest, sometimes lucy and fugo communicate in non-verbal ways. tilts of the head, blinking in a certain way. it’s something only they understand.
♡ in comparison to everyone else, lucy and abbacchio had a rougher start to their eventual friendship. his tendency to shun others at time and his bouts of sarcasm had her assume he hated her for whatever reason, until she realized that’s just how he is. despite this, abbacchio does have a secret soft spot for her (and trish) that leads him to being slightly nicer to her. still, he doesn’t understand why she’d rather sit inside with him while the others have their fun.
because of abbacchio, lucy decides to learn how to use weapons in the first place. because while she’s independent to a certain degree, she has no self-defense training to speak of.
♡ lucy treats bruno more formally than the rest, even if he’d prefer her to treat him like she does the others. she respects him deeply thanks to how trustworthy he comes off, and because of how much he tries to accommodate her and her timidity. bruno is concerned with how adult she acts in relation to her age, and tries to encourage her to spend more time with the teens of the group.
they both have a tendency to take on other people’s burdens, even to their own detriment. bruno pushes her to do things for herself once in a while.
