-- My trip to Mars...? --
In my dream last night (26th of Dec,) I met Timothee Chalamet, but I’ll write about that in the next post. Anyway, I’ve seen him in countless interviews following the release of Dune. When I had watched that movie back in October, I didn’t have any idea about the material. I joked to my aunt about how “We’re going to Mars!” because of the dessert vistas shown in the trailer. I really didn’t think much of it but I felt it was going to be major. Of course I left the theatre with a lot of insight about the archetypes within that storyline. It was kind of a lot to digest at the time.
What happened in that movie was occurring between two planets, so I understood that we were essentially travelling between two different realms. From the bountiful and green Caladan, to the sparse and unforgiving Arrakis. The former was clearly the feminine counterpart of the two spheres. It’s hard to avoid the dialogue between the divine feminine and divine masculine, as it reflects from the macro scale of these planets down to the micro field of the politics between the people.
What was most captivating about this movie to me was the role of Paul Attreide’s mother, Jessica. Who gave birth to a boy despite the wishes of the Bene Gesserit. Since Paul was taught The Way of the Bene Gesserit, in their eyes that made him the Kwisatz Haderach or "the one who can be two places simultaneously" or "the one who can be many places at once" “shortening of The Way.”
-- The Priestess’ Way: Jesus Christ Reversed --
I was only expecting this high-budget movie to be as vast as a galactic soap opera could be. But I was very surprised by the concept of the Voice. Which gave me the insight I needed to understand the resemblance the Bene Gesserit had to the High Priestess: The card of the Moon’s influence over the Throat Chakra. How we create a channel from the subconscious realm of emotional intelligence into conscious information... We create portals from the 3rd dimension through the 4th.
Lady Jessica and Paul clearly followed the roles of Mary and Jesus. The movie itself was filmed on site in a biblical site (which I think is not short of ritualistic connotation but anyway.) Within the Tarot, the Magician alludes to the archetype of Jesus, who worked with God to bring divine miracles to Earth.
In the case of Dune, Paul is working with The Way to reclaim his own destiny. We get glimpses into his visions which of course come from the future-- or through the portal of the 4th dimension. I didn’t understand why Lady Jessica kept Paul’s abilities hidden from both the B.G and also her husband Leto: duke of Caladan. Except I later realized that Lady Jessica herself was divided between two worlds; the political world of the Bene Gesserit and her life as a mother. The plot in this movie holds a lot of polarity, which is exactly what The High Priestess card teaches about. Lady Jessica represents The High Priestess but in the role of Juno; the asteroid of divine counterparts (just like Mary as counterpart to Jesus.)
-- Ego-Death is The Way --
Moving on to another interesting point: the people of Arrakis are essentially mutated by the Spice. Paul’s clairvoyant abilities were even accelerated by exposure to Spice. To me this represents their enmeshment within the masculine sphere, which reads like a variant of Mars. The planet of Ego-death and transformation; number 9 within the Tarot, showing up as [IX] The Hermit and [XVIII] The Moon. Many people associate the Third-Eye with the pineal gland, which I think is worth mentioning in reference to the effects of the Spice.
Arrakis is infested with sand worms (an indirect analogy to the parasitic relationship that humanity has to our own Earth...) There’s something to be said about material harvesting but I’m not getting into that. The Hermit card itself is about internal reflection, connecting the Third-Eye to the power of Mars. When you retreat to gain insight, transforming by acting through your intuition.
I know I just mentioned Paul’s resemblance to The Magician earlier, and I wasn’t saying it lightly. It’s just that I see how Paul as a character is meant to transform from The Magician into The Hermit. We know that he’s meant to reclaim his destiny as the Kwisatz Haderach, as he exceeded the expectations of the Reverend Mother herself. The Bene Gesserit clearly is capable of using the Voice to manipulate the 3rd dimension; the shadow aspect of The High Priestess. Paul is meant to follow his own visions though...
Arrakis a dessert forsaken land that requires adaptive survival skills, which the native people naturally exhibit as a focus on the immaterial; strengthened by the Spice. I think Paul enters this planet as a bridge between the abundant 4th dimension to the barren 3rd dimension.
-- The Moon rules the 4th dimension --
So I see that The Way is in reality closely tied with abilities of our Moon. Which influences us through the Sacral and the Third-Eye. I see that Paul is actually reacting to past life memories which pull him to a higher timeline. He’s seeing his future with Chani because of his ability to receive messages from the 4th dimension...
Paul doesn’t continue on Arrakis as the head of House Atreides, and neither is he conditioned to serve the agendas of the Bene Gesserit.

Mars transit the 4th house reminds me exactly of the themes in this movie. I believe I was being shown how I work through the 4th dimension myself. My natal Mars in the 1st house being The Magician, the archetype of alchemical processes; diverting reality through directing intention and attention to the positive. My personal identity is detached from my 3D characteristics. I’ve always had an open personality as a visibly queer youth, so I get to reclaim the ability to stick out in the crowd by positively reinforcing that I have a unique point of view than people around me. It transforms my identity crisis into my own purpose.
While The moon in my 10th represents The Hermit, the archetype of personal retreat and reflection. It’s how I personally heal my 4th house trauma to reintegrate a healthy divine masculine expression, connecting with my inner voice. It’s how I recognize my role in the world so that I can focus my energy where it’s needed. It continues my personal narrative so I don’t negate what I’ve been through.
I’ll explain that chart in a different post where I get into how I conduct dreams analysis!

Dream report for September 4th, 2019:
I lived in a four bedroom home with my Mom and my brothers. Everyone had a space for themselves but there was extra room and apparently my Mom invited my Father to visit us...
When he showed up, he was acting very out of character, as if he had moved on from the past and wanted us to forget it too. But we felt he was being passive aggressive the whole time, as he was pretending to praise the nice home we have... The lighting in the room just warped around him the more we gave him attention.
We ended up looking for a new home, away from P.A and back to Puerto Rico. My father was insisting on helping us find one. Except every house he brought us to see, was too small, or infested with bugs/rats. My brothers and I tried to enter each house, tried to make them fit our needs, but they got progressively worse.
September is my personal month of The Moon. While my natal Moon sits in the house of Public life, its current transit fell over my 3rd house. The eighteenth Major arcana, represents Mars’ influence over the Third-Eye... The Moon naturally rules over this chakra, where our subconscious emotions and memories blend with our reality.
Pluto teaches me the lessons of my 3rd house, as I learn to pair my internal reality along with my lived experiences. The sign of self-union reveals that I must personally explore social ideas and concepts that attach me to my beliefs, so that I might experience healthier duality in my self-enlightenment.
As someone who has grown up estranged from my father, I had only so many memories to keep, and even less good ones. My parents would constantly fight in front of my brothers and I, inadvertently putting us in the middle of all their issues. It’s only because I’m able to reflect on the past as an adult, that I can safely process what those memories meant to me.
Since I grew up in a broken household, and also as an immigrant, culturally estranged in a foreign land-- my values were also broken, estranged, foreign. I had to develop my own ideas about the world. And it did mean growing up quicker than I could process my childhood.
While I didn’t have the agency of understanding how my traumas affected me, I was always conscientious of my own behaviors even as a kid. Being visibly queer, and constantly at the receiving end of unwanted attention-- my ability to transmute my self-conscious fixation, especially over my appearance, allowed me to reclaim a certain awareness. Really being able to channel that first house Mars, facing my ego. So it was my fears that informed how I could realize an identity that I was confident and secure with.
As someone who lived on welfare, it was normal for my family to change address, practically bi-annually. The one thing that seemed consistent in my life, was actually school. Besides my parents being unavailable to raise me, at least my mother knew that I should stay in school. Except she didn’t catch on to the bullying and harassment I was experiencing. Long story short, I dropped out of high-school.
This dream reflected to me how the cycle of insecurity rippled from my parents relationship, into my own relationship with my identity. I had been retracting myself from the conventional things that should represent my identity such as: money and class... So that I could find my real self beyond the weight of my unstable circumstances. That’s how my 5th house Neptune allowed me to actualize detachment from realities that I don’t value.
