Your self sabotage and self neglect are one of the biggest signs you're in state of self hatred. You might think that you love yourself apparently. But when you don't do the things you're supposed to do for your betterment...rather...you keep subjecting yourself to stuff that's ruining your physical and mental health... you're basically pulling up the hate on your being. The shame, guilt and sense of inferiority that's hidden in you. Deep down you think you don't deserve good things so you keep plunging into the bare minimum and worse, the evil things. When you know you should sleep enough to heal but you keep staying up late at night dwelling on actions that aren't good for your body and soul. You know you should maintain a diet that can meet the needs of your body but you keep skipping meals or binge eating junk. You know you should limit your screen time, stop scrolling randomly on your apps but you keep wasting time to distract yourself from stuff that's bothering you. You avoid facing your thoughts with conviction and let them wreck havoc in your mind. You allow negative assumptions and patterns to repeat. You don't allow yourself to get up after a relapse thinking you deserve to suffer. You avoid healing. You take care of everything and everyone around you but keep putting your needs aside. You don't rush towards Allah as you should. You think you're far away from Him and not good enough to stand before Him.

You do all of it subconsciously yet in a state of complete persuasion.

Imm Ibn Al-Jawz Said:

Imām Ibn al-Jawzī رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ said:

“It is a must for each cautious and intelligent person to gather the supplies needed before his departure [from this life].

For he never knows when his hour of death will strike or know when his soul will be called back!”

"Throw It All In The Trash"...said My Mum As I Stood In The Midst Of Our Living Room Holding A Carton

"Throw it all in the trash"...said my mum as I stood in the midst of our living room holding a carton full of stuff I had taken out of our storecases of books, stationary and gifts received over the time.

This happens almost every 6 months when I deep cleanse the home and try to declutter. Whenever the new stuff out-spaces the old, I collect it and put it in a carton and then no one sees it ever again except me. I did that again this time, and when my mum asked me to throw it, I....simply couldn't. Like always. I kept it aside for a while and then sneakily took it to my closet, and secured it there.

This is me. I've always found it impossible to let go of stuff that has memories attached to it. Like a post card my middle school best friend made for my birthday with our pictures on it, like the funny song lyrics we used to write on chits during classes and laugh our hearts out on the last bench in highschool. Like the poems and sweet comments my classmates have written for me in my diary and slambooks.. like the first ring I bought for myself, Like the tulip sketches my nephews have made for me, like the first "painting" my niece made when she was just 15 months old (which is just a brush ran across a page in haphazard manner lol)

I keep it so close to me that whenever I get to open my closet, I know I have treasure hidden in it, that can take me back to the time whenever I had felt over the world. When I know, everything was perfect. Even for a day or an brief hour. But harm is when I do it with words spoken to me. Smiles given to me. I cannot throw them away from my mind either no matter how much my mind is occupied with other things. Like when one of my colleagues had literally lifted me up and didn't separate me from her embrace for a long time because she missed me during a week's leave. How my students and I would go around the campus for no apparent reason but just so we could goof around the places in the name of work. Like, when an elderly woman had smiled at me n kept her hand on my head because I helped her with something as simple as lifting her bag while we were coming down from a bus. Like, when someone had said "come back?" After I was absent for so many weeks...

Like when someone said "Forever, In Sha Allah" when I asked them if they can tolerate me.

Even if I know those words mean nothing now, but in that moment, they meant the world. And it pains me that I cannot go back in that moment and things stay as it is. I choose to live a lifetime in that one moment. Because I know, one day, everything has to be dumped into a carton and everyone will call it trash. But for me, it'll always matter. Because I suck at letting go. So, I have made a room inside the deepest chamber of my heart, just like my closet. Where all the words spoken to me, that I hold dear sparkle like glittering butterflies. But in a dungeon. Soon they'll die. And I have no choice except to make a grave out of it...that I'll avoid visiting often. But, whenever I'll need an escape...I know I'll find myself sitting near that grave, touching it ever so tenderly...because...I suck at letting go.

The More Quran Enters Your Heart And Your Mind...the Lesser You Tend To Listen To These 'lofi' 'slowed-reverb'

The more Quran enters your heart and your mind...the lesser you tend to listen to these 'lofi' 'slowed-reverb' versions of Quran and also the recitations of 'qaris' who tend to excessively melodize and nasheedify the Tilawah that they miss out on the haqq of Tajweed. SubhanAllah. We listen to the Quran so we can ponder over the Words of Allah and understand it's meaning the way it's meant to. Yes, Quran recitation is soothing to the ears and calming too. But why there's that humming and echo without any need for it? Many YouTube qari's we're seeing today recite the Quran without proper Tajweed, use autotune n try making the Tilawah aesthetic!! Very few reciters actually emphasize Tarteel. May Allah make us amongst those who fulfill the Haqq of reciting Quran.

تکلیف کی انتہا میں کسی دوست یا احباب کا ساتھ نہ ہونا بھی ایک بہت بڑی نعمت ہے۔۔۔ انسان كے توحید کی مضبوطی كے لیے.

Finding no friend or companion at the peak of a person's distress is infact a great blessing for strengthening the Tawheed of that person.

how to practice detachment? i saw ur writing on fb on attachment.

Detachment is when you take back the power you're giving to certain individual or a thing with whom you feel attached. What is it that you want from them? Find that out and start seeking it from Allah subhanhuwata'ala. Love, attention, validation. Anything.

Remember, attachments don't hurt. Expectations do. Love people, be kind to them regardless if you get it in return (Saying this about blood relationships especially)

When we become dependent for our emotional well-being on others, that causes pain and distress and anxiety and what not. Be so comfortable in your skin that you don't need any provider except for Allah subhanhuwata'ala. Keep asking Him Ghinaa, Which is self sufficiency. Don't keep waiting for people to treat you the way you want. Start doing it yourself and you'll find yourself less needy and clingy. I hope this helps.

In One Of The Masnoon Dua', We Find RasulAllah Seeking Refuge In Allah From Grief And Sorrow And Then

In one of the Masnoon Dua', we find RasulAllah ﷺ seeking refuge in Allah from grief and sorrow and then at the end, we find the words "from being overpowered by men"

"..وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ" I never really understood the depth of these words...until I did. "Being overpowered by men" seems like a group of armed people attacking you. Someone ambushing you. Enemies invading your home. But it ain't about just this extreme visual. When you find yourself stuck because of the people 'closest' to you, when you see your 'loved ones' lying to, plotting against you, exploiting you. And you cannot do anything but let yourself be fooled, manipulated and exploited...all because of love, all because of the blood and the womb. You will understand what وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ really means. Nothing makes a person as helpless as love does. Nothing makes a person do things they never like in fact abhor from their very core...like love does. We never actually pay attention to how profound the Masnoon Adi'yah are. In this generation of mental health awareness and people coming to know about terms regarding abuses....our Prophet ﷺ guided us to make the Dua where a person seeks refuge in Allah from being overpowered by people. From their plots, and their selfishness. The emotional, mental and physical abuse. Not just by the enemies out of the home, but the ones you call friends and families. The ones you can jump off the cliff anytime, the ones who can make you jump off the cliff if they find that good for them..anytime...
