Merry Whumpmas Day 1: Hospital

Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Summary: Echo has to go to the hospital after cutting his hand open. Tech goes with him to help his stay calm as he tries not to think about Skako Minor.

Echo hated hospitals. They scared him. They seemed to quite and to loud for his liking. He hated being around them but even more he hated being in them.

Pabu was a beautiful place. Even that wouldn't ease Echo's mind as Tech and him walked towards their hospital.

"Are you sure we have to go?" Echo asked.

"The laseration in your palm is deep. It will need stitches. Maybe be more careful around knives next time." Tech kept walking forwards. "It should be a simple procedure. They will numb your hand and stitch it. You will have to come back to get the stitches out."

    "Why can't we wrap it?"

"Bacta is not something overly easy to come by so they need to preserve it. So do we."

    "Alright."

Hospitals were to clean, to blank, and to bright. Even though Echo didn't remember much from when he was with the Techno Union, he did remember some things.

It was cold and white. It smelled too clean. Echo shook his head. He tried to clear his mind. As they arrived the clone paused. "I don't think I can go in."

"I understand this may be difficult for you. Trauma is not easy to overcome. We will take it slowly. Or at least we will try. Can I provide some form of comfort to you?" Tech walked up to be right beside him. Despite his slightly robotic tone, Echo knew he was genuine.

Nothing came to mind. The domino tried to find anything that might help. even in the slightest. But there was nothing. "Just stay close?" He shook.

"I intend to." Tech started to walk forward.

Echo had been right. Exam rooms always looked the same. He sat in his, trying not to cry as a droid came in to look at his hand. Tech intervened quickly and asked if there was a living doctor there. The droid seemed offended but Tech didn't seem to notice. Still he went to grab a doctor.

Just as Echo had feared, all he could think about was the Techno Union. He thought about how the only memories he had were before he was put in the tube he was found in. Memories filled with pain and suffering.

Memories of droids that had stood over him, putting him back together. The few thoughts he had had been wondering if he should have survived or about what happened to the others; what would happen to him. The pain, though only a memory, had been the worst thing he had ever physically felt.

That pain could never compare to the pain that would come with healing from what had happened to him. That pain could never compare to the pain of losing your brothers.

Even now he wasn't completely healed. It felt like those droid's scalpels just kept cutting. Maybe he would never heal? Maybe those wounds would never scar.

Those droids had stood in a clean, white room. When thinking about it, it only ever reminded him of hospital rooms. Sometimes the people nearby cities or towns would let the clones use their hospitals. Other than that, Echo had never been in a hospital.

But now he knew why he feared them so much. They looked just like that room he had been put back together in. Even if his time on Skako Minor was a blur, he knew that this was what the room looked like.

A chill went down Echo's metal spine. He looked over at Tech who stood near the door. He wanted to call for him but his voice hung in his throat. The tears he had been trying so hard to hold back started to slide down his face.

Tech turned around and walked to his side. Unsure of what to say, he just sat with him. He had learned that he wasn't very good at handling current emotional reactions and crying was one of them. Echo reached for his brother and cried into his shoulder.

The doctor opened the door but stopped. She stood in the doorway, confused and slightly concerned. "Is everything alright?" She asked kindly.

"My brother suffers with trauma related to rooms that look similar to this one. Let him calm down." Tech never even looked at her. He just, somewhat awkwardly, held Echo.

Soon he was able to think a little better. He moved from his place in Techs arms to look at the doctor. She had gone to get him some ice chips and had just gotten back. "ice chips?" She asked.

"Sure." Echo didn't question why she had brought him ice chips of all things. He reached for one but hissed as he remembered why he was there. Tech took the cup and ate one of the pieces of ice.

"Let's get that taken care of." The doctor talked to Echo through the whole thing. It helped being able to focus on something else. When she was done, they were sent to the front to check out and then they could leave.

As they left the building Tech spoke. "That could have been worse" he said.

"Yeah. It could have been."

Merry Whumpmas Day 2: Broken Bone

Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug

Warning: Violence

Summary: Adrien reserves a nasty wound by Monarch.

Being a super hero was fun. Especially in the snow. Nothing ever made Adrien question that. Sure the injuries weren't fun but everything else was great. But there were some moments when being a hero wasn't so fun.

Like when your tibia is sticking out of your leg.

Adrien just stared at it. It hurt. It hurt a lot. Tears fell from his eyes and he protested some of the pain. Adrenaline kept the rest away. He could only think about one thing, Monarch.

It never seemed to be a good day when Monarch showed his face. Adrien would have known better. Most of the time fighting Monarch wasn't the worst, but this time, this time was different. This time he was stronger.

Bones seemed weaker when they were sticking out of you. Blood surrounded the wound as Adrien looked around to see if someone could help him.

There was no one there. No one but Monarch. The villain looked at the child in front of him and froze. For the first time he thought about what he was doing. Then he let his morality slide away as he started to walk again. When he was done with him, his leg would be the least of his problems.

Blood stained the snow, the warm crimson liquid sinking to the grass. Adrien looked back at the villain. He started to try to back away but screamed in pain. He reached for his poll but couldn't find it in the snow.

Adrien looked back at Monarch. He could see the hatred that grew in his eyes. It's ugly color shown though more than anything. Though they held a  familiar coldness to them, the boy decided to ignore it.

    "No where to run."

"I think I can tell." Adrien sighed. He could do nothing but watch as Monarch walked until he was right in front of him. Then he prepared himself when he saw Monarch's foot coming down onto his leg. He could feel the boot on his bone.

Ladybug finally knew where he partner was. She never wanted to hear such a blood curdling scream again. It hurt to hear but not nearly as much as it must have hurt him. She ran across rooftops and swung down into the court yard they were in.

Adrien laid on the ground. The bone was now back in his body but it was also shattered. Blood spilled much quicker from the wound and tears fell much harder.

"Hold on Cat Noir!" Ladybug screamed.

The next few hours were a blur. Adrien watched Ladybug fight Monarch until police arrived. He remembered being in an ambulance and telling the paramedic that no one could know who he was. Getting to the hospital made him panic a bit more.

He remembered the sound of his bone breaking and when it had been forced back into his flesh. It had been horrible.

Hospitals were bright but Adrien knew he needed to be there. He tried to figure out what to do about his identity but as they started to talk about surgery those thoughts subsided. He would just have to worry about it later.

Merry Whumpmas Day 4: Chills

Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Summary: As Crosshair reunites with his family he notices that someone is not there.

Seeing his brothers again was a lot for Crosshair. He thought he had told them not to come, to leave him behind like they had before. Even if understood why now, it still hurt. The scar was still a scab.

But then he noticed, Tech was missing. His body shook with a chilling realization. It felt like his whole body went cold and he almost froze in place. It was the only reason he wouldn't be there. Tech had to be dead.

Fear gripped his heart and squeezed. It was almost painful. But maybe he was wrong. Maybe Crosshair was wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

He wanted to ask but the fear and uncertainty left him speechless. Instead he put one foot in front of the other. He followed the rest of his family outside of this awful place that had broken him. They led him to the light he had long forgotten.

Hope.

Still, Crosshair couldn't be happy. As they walked he realized there was no way Tech could be with them. Was he hurt? Could he be with the Marauder? Why did they look so, nervous.

When they did get to the Marauder, Rex was waiting. Warm blood was replaced with ice water. He was gone. That's why they were nervous; why Omega hadn't said anything when he asked about them. She didn't know how to tell him.

The water froze him. He stood still, staring at the Marauder. He thought about every memory that he had with Tech in it. There was no way he was gone. Not without saying goodbye right?

But hadn't they already? Was their last encounter supposed to give him closer? Was he supposed to be okay? Could he move? Did moving mean excepting?

Hunter put a hand on Crosshair's shoulder and tried to move him along. "We need to go."

"He's not there, is he?"

An icicle plunged into the man's heart. "No. Tech's not there."

Crosshair wanted to cry. The only thing that stood in his way was dehydration.

"We have to go Crosshair" Hunter shook. He put slight pressure on his brother's back, trying to move forward.

Slowly Crosshair moved, Hunter's hand generating enough heat to move his frozen body forward. He was finally home.

Home was different than he remembered. First of all there was room for Omega. Then Tech's bunk had been left untouched. His blanket was still folded over.

Crosshair looked at his own. It had been made. He knew he hadn't made it. He moved the blanket to find a small letter. A chill went up his spine as he grabbed it.

It was from Tech. He gently opened it with shaky hands. He pulled the letter out of the envelope and unfolded it.

It read, "Dear Crosshair, I didn't know what would happen. In truth I didn't expect the mission to go well. But I knew we had to go. If not for anything, to make up for the damage we had done to you. That is not to say you didn't hurt us as well. I hope I will retrieve this letter once I am on the ship. If not, I was told it is best to not leave words unsaid. You were a good brother Crosshair. I was grateful to have you."

Crosshair held the letter to his chest. That was the most affection Tech had ever shown to him. He laid on his bed and let out a sigh. This was going to be hard.

Merry Whumpmas Day 5: Poison

Fandom: The Dragon Prince

Summary: Runaan leaves a poison on the table as he goes to grab something before leaving not knowing anyone was home. Ethari comes out of his workshop and decides he wants a drink.

Assassins are careful. But sometimes being careful isn't enough. Sometimes you need to make sure your husband isn't home when you leave your poison next to his glass. The color of the liquids were that different.

Ethari walked out of his workshop to realize he had forgotten his drink on the table. Runaan had almost forgotten his small knife he kept on him just in case.

As he walked out to the dinning room where he had left his supplies, he paused for a moment. "I didn't know you were home."

"Oh, I was in my workshop. Are you about to head out love?" Ethari asked as he set down his glass.

Runaan looked at the glass. He looked at the one next to it and froze. His eyes locked on the two glasses as he realized that his husband had grabbed the wrong glass.

"Ethari, sit down." He pulled out a chair at the table and pushed him into it.

"Is everything okay?" the man asked.

"No. You grabbed the wrong glass."

Runaan's heart sank as he watched Ethari realize what had happened.

"It's okay. Go get the antidote. I'll be fine here."

The elf ran back to his closet. He had moved everything there when Rayla moved in. He tore it apart trying to find it.

In the other room, Ethari started to feel the effects of the poison. He tried to stand to go help Runaan and to maybe help him calm down. He got a few feet before he collapsed. His breathing speed slightly as he sat against the table.

A crash came from their room. Runaan pulled away from the object that fell. He looked at his shaking hand to see blood coming out of a large cut. He shook it off and looked back to the closet.

Rayla hadn't moved in all that long ago and he hadn't had a chance to really organize everything yet. She took up a lot more time then Runaan had realized she would. He didn't mind most of the time but right now he almost resented taking her in.

But even then he knew it wasn't her fault. As he grabbed for a vile at the top of the shelf, he thought about how he knew better then to leave something as deadly as poison on the table. He knew better then to assume it would be okay.

The vile came into his grasp and he looked at the label on the bottom. He had found what he needed.

Ethari couldn't see straight. He had a terrible headache and everything felt off center. Even though he knew he was staying still, everything felt like it was moving. The worst part was feeling tired. He felt so tired.

When Runaan came into the room, Ethari hadn't noticed at first. He only saw him when he was a few feet in front of him.

    "Love?" He asked.

"Drink this." Runaan put the small vile against Ethari's lips and tipped it some. The elf tried to take the glass but Runaan didn't let him.

Slowly he started to recover. While he still couldn't see straight or think very well, Ethari took his husband's injured hand into his own. He looked at his, swaying and tried to get him to take care of it.

At first Runaan didn't understand but slowly he got the point and grabbed a nearby towel and pressed it against his hand. "Is that better?"

Ethari smiled. Runaan grabbed him and laid him down on the couch. He grabbed the trash can and put it next to them and held Ethari's hair when he threw up. He pulled the other back into the couch when he almost fell off.

Another assassin walked into their home. He didn't even knock. He looked at Runaan confused. "Everything okay? You were supposed to meet up like thirty minutes ago."

"I'm going to be late. If the time comes and you must leave, I will catch up."

"Okay?" The elf sounded skeptical as he started to walk away.

"Can you, find Rayla for me? Take her the coins on the counter and tell her to grab some bread from the market."

"Don't want her home yet?" He asked.

    "Not yet."

The assassin grabbed the coins and headed for the door. "I'll keep her distracted."

"Thank you." Runaan looked back at the man in front of him. He sighed. This had never happened before. Normally he was more careful than that. He never should have left such a strong poison on the table.

It was yours before Ethari came close to recovering. The assassin had done as he said he and had kept Rayla away from the home.

"I'm so sorry" Runaan began. "I never should have left poison on the table. I was just going to grab something."

"It's okay." Ethari spoke slowly and softly. "I probably should have looked."

"No this is my fault. How are you feeling?"

    "Better then before."

    "Good."

    "You need to go right?"

    "I can stay."

"No, you go ahead. I'll be okay."

It took awhile before Runaan finally agreed to leave. He left the trash can by his side and bright Ethari a glass of water.

"I'll be home soon. I love you." He kissed  Ethari's forehead and made his way to the door.

"I love you too dear." Ethari laid back down on the couch. He grabbed the glass of water and took a sip of it. Then he set it back on the table and grabbed the book that was there. Taking the blanket into his hands, he pulled it over him and opened the book. At least he had a reason to read now.

Merry Whumpmas Day 6: No Where to Go

Fandom: Star Wars

Summary: After the empire finds Obi-wan and Luke, the Jedi realizes he had no plan of where to go.

Part two: soon

It had been a year since the war ended. It had been a month since the empire had found Obi-wan and Luke on Tatooien. It has been a lifetime since Obi-wan was able to breathe.

He didn't know what to do when they first came to Tatooien. When he saw them go to Luke's home, he knew he had to take him far from the sandy planet. After he took him, he learned both Owen and Beru had been killed.

But where did he go from there? The first objective was simply to get off the planet. But after that, Obi-wan had nowhere to go. He thought about going to Alderaan and taking Luke to Bail. But how did he get there?

Truthfully, Bail was the only person Kenobi still trusted. Everyone else had either died or betrayed him. So where did he go?

Geonosis and Scarif we're nearby. While Geonosis seemed like a bad idea, maybe Scarif could be safe? But they would look for him nearby. Naboo was a death wish and so was Corusant.

As Obi-wan made his way though the market he heard the whispers that followed him. There was nothing he could do about them. They were just there. He didn't really care anymore. He needed a ship. He needed a pilot who would listen to him or maybe just be stupid enough to be a wanted man's get away pilot.

Nothing seemed real. He turned a corner to see a dead end. Then he turned to leave. There stood multiple stormtroopers and what seemed to be a dark side user.

There really was nowhere to go. Obi-wan felt his heart rate rise. He felt helpless as he watched them get closer. He pushed them away with the first and ran again. That seemed to be all he really could do anymore. There was too much running.

Tatooien was like a trap. It was almost impossible to leave it. Even though Obi-wan had been a hopeful person, all of that seemed to leave him when Cody shot at him. As the Jedi died, so did almost every part of him. There was nowhere to go. If there was anywhere he could go, it certainly couldn't be home. He could never go back.

Still Kenobi knew he had to move forward. He had to put one foot in front of the other, if for no other reason, for Luke. He couldn't fail him like he had failed his father.

He had to escape. He understood now, why Anakin had hated this place so badly. Finding his way to a hanger, Obi-wan found the ships the empire had arrived on. He jumped into it and started it up.

Gently, he put Luke in his lap. He was small for a one year old. Obi-wan still didn't know where to go. He pulled his comm from his pocket after he took off and reached out to Bail.

"They found us" was the only thing he could think to say. Once Bail answered, the two talked for a while. Eventually they came to the conclusion that Luke would be raised alongside his sister. Obi-wan however would be on his own from then on.

After dropping off Luke, the Jedi didn't know where to go. It felt like an overwhelming theme in his life. At least then he had known that he had a home in the Jedi. But now they were gone. Everything was gone.

Time passed as Kenobi tried to find a way to live in a galaxy that wanted him dead. Everyone seemed to be against him. Not just everyone but everything. Being on his own was never something he had been prepared for.

More than anything he wanted to go home. But home didn't exist anymore. It was gone. So he needed a new home, but that didn't seem to exist. Obi-wan sighed as he sat down at the bar he had found on Ord Mantell. He told the woman across the counter that he really just wanted water. She gave him one and told him to be on his way.

Then he heard familiar voices behind him. It was unnerving and Obi-wan felt like he was trapped again. He looked for other exits but there was nowhere to go.

"General Kenobi?" Echo said with surprise.

"Hello Echo"

Merry Whumpmas Day 7: Hyperventilating

Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars

Summary: After Satine dies, Obi-wan lets everything settle when he gets to the temple.

Mandalore was not kind to Obi-wan. Satine had been his first love. Nothing could ever quite get rid of that feeling. The love you have for your first love, me very completely disappears.

Now she was gone. Darth Maul had taken her from the world. He had overtaken her planet and replaced her. Her presence was erased so easily.

Obi-wan was home now. He stood in his room, alone. He looked around. The dim light from his window highlighted a small gold chain on his bedside table. He stared at it for just a moment before realizing what it was.

It was Satine's. Back in the beginning of the Clone War, she had handed it to him. She complained that she was unable to detangle it and asked him to. Obi-wan, of course had agreed. He had gently placed it in his pocket. Then everyone got distracted.

When Obi-wan had realized he still had it, he had detangled it. He had put it on the table so that he would remember to take it to her.

On his way to Mandalore, Obi-wan had realized he had left it sitting in his room. Though he couldn't remember where he had put it. He had sighed, thinking that he would just give it to her then next time he saw her.

Now it was all the Jedi had left of her.  He sat down on his bed and held it with tender hands. It had a simple blue pendant on it. He could never give it back to her.

Memories of the two had already caused a flood in his mind. But now he was shaking. Satine was gone so fast. He missed her. Even if he barely saw her, knowing she was alive had been enough.

Maul was hateful. He had taken too much from him. His father and first love had fallen at his hands. But who was next? If Maul only seemed to want Kenobi to suffer, who would be next?

Air started to flow though Obi-wan's lungs faster than it should. It felt sharp. His chest rose and fell quickly. His shaking increased as a deep sensation of panic fled into his veins. His heart moved it around until his whole body felt paralyzed.

Breathing became difficult. It felt like his body was attacking itself. Obi-wan brought his hands to his chest. A sickly feeling fell over him.

Standing up, Kenobi tried to walk around his room. Pacing didn't seem to help. Instead, he sat against the wall. He felt like he was suffocating.

What would happen if Maul got ahold of his family? He had already taken two of them from him. But what about Anakin? Cody and Ahsoka made him more nervous than anything.

Anakin could hopefully handle himself. Obi-wan didn't want to doubt Ahsoka but he knew that she was young. She was smaller than him and he had already seen a Jedi he had worked with fall at his hands.

Then there was Cody. Nothing he could do against Maul would save him. Guns could never compare to a lightsaber or the force. Only Kriff knows what he could do to him.

As Obi-wan's breathing worsened, his thought became quicker. What would he do if something happened to them? How could he protect them? Would it be enough.

Time passed slowly. The there was a knock at the door. But Obi-wan didn't hear it. He didn't think he could get up and off of the floor. All Kenobi could hear was his own breathing and his loud and quick heartbeat.

That was the day Obi-wan learned that breathing too much could knock you out. He didn't remember Cody knocking on the door. He didn't remember him finding a way in and panicking when he found him on the floor, unconscious. He didn't remember being gently picked up and brought to the medical ward.

But when he woke up, he was confused about where he was. "How did I get here?" he asked Cody almost as soon as he saw him.

"You were unconscious on your floor. I had come to talk to you, I wanted to make sure you were alright." Cody answered his questions as he asked them.

"Thank you Cody" he gently smiled. "I think I'm fine. Can you find one of the droids, I want to go back to my room." Obi-wan looked down at his hands. Something was missing.

Before Cody had a chance to walk away, he realized Obi-wan looked panicked. He watched his breathing quicken and walked to his side. "Is everything alright?" He asked.

"I should have had a necklace? Do you see-"

Cody pulled something off of the table by the bed. "It's right here."

Obi-wan took it and sighed. "Thank you."

"Do you want me to put it on you?" The commander asked gently.

The Jedi just nodded. He may not have her but at least he had a memory. He looked at Cody as he walked to find a doctor. At least he had him.

The reason for his panic fled back in. Cody was too kind to be killed at the hands of Maul. Most everyone was. Maybe everything would be okay. Maybe Maul would never learn about them. Maybe, just maybe, he could sleep at night.

The walk back to his room was silent. Cody had insisted on walking him back. Obi-wan thought it was sweet. As the door shut and he realized he was alone again. Kenobi didn't want to be alone. He tried to find a way to open that door again, to admit that he needed help.

Then the door opened. "I'm sorry if this is overstepping sir. I just wanted to know if you needed anything."

Obi-wan pulled him in the room. "Is it alright if you st- no this is childish. No thank you commander."

"What do you need? I'm sure it's not-"

"Can you stay here tonight? I just" Obi-wan sighed. "I don't want to be alone.

Cody nodded. "Yes sir." The two talked for a while before Obi-wan said he was ready for bed. Staying on separate sides of the bed, the two went to bed. Maybe things could be okay after all.

Merry Whumpmas Day 8: Bedridden

Fandom: My Hero Academia

Summary: Aizawa struggles with having to stay in bed after his injuries in the war arch.

Being trapped in bed while his students fought in a war that they shouldn't have even been involved in was like torture to Aizawa. He hated thinking about it. They were alone. They were his children.

Yet the hero commission decided that teenagers should fight. Their training wasn't complete. It felt like the commission was trying to get them killed.

Aizawa wanted to help, he needed to help. But he couldn't. He was bedridden for the time being. He thought about how maybe Snipe should have killed Shigaraki when he had the chance. Maybe he should have been more careful.

But it wasn't his fault. No one could have known. The league of villains was nothing but trouble.

Aizawa looked out the window. He couldn't see much. The blinds were closed and he was well, half blind.

There had to be something he could do, someway he could help them. Or maybe he could visit the students in the hospital?

But the doctor wouldn't let him get up. He had to stay put. Hisashi was giving him as many updates as he could. He felt so, helpless to the situation.

The hero wanted to move. Having to stay out mentally having to think. Aizawa didn't like to think. He liked to sleep but after staying in bed for so long, he didn't think he could anymore.

The bed was uncomfortable. He couldn't get comfortable. Shota was in pain. But knowing his students were scared hurt more than any injury could. Aizawa felt he had failed them.

But he also knew there was nothing he could do. He was trapped in his bed. For now all he could do was ask about them.

Hisashi didn't like seeing Shota like that. He didn't like seeing him so inmobile. He knew it was hard on him.

Time could be the only healer this time. Aizawa could do nothing just wait until he was better. Then he could join them again. He didn't care if it would be hard, being a teacher never was all that easy.

So if all he could do was lay there, he would think of what to tell them. Aizawa tried to find a way to apologize for ever letting them step foot on a battlefield before they had graduated. The war took what was left of their childhood.

Aizawa stopped staring at the closed window. He shifted and pulled the blanket up. If only he could just get up.
