At two this morning I felt little paws on my face as my cat walked down my side to lay on me like a railing.
Me: "Well, I guess this is happening." After my cat settled, "I wonder how non-cat people would react to this?"

Having a day where I woke up, made some coffee, and felt really at peace with where I'm at in terms of having a "life goal." Growing up, I used to think I was so career-oriented and had to have work tied to my identity. Living in Japan has been nice to step away from any expectation of my work being tied into every facet of my life. I just want to make enough money to live in my house, to travel sometimes, to enjoy the life I have while I'm alive. To see as many sunsets as I can. To bake some crazy galettes. To sit in a bar with a glass of wine and listen to good music. To play bass poorly until I'm better. To pick up another instrument for the hell of it. To keep learning Japanese to keep my brain working. To take pictures for the memories. To play dumb video games. To walk in the rain.

Morning thoughts… Last night I was tired enough to faint, but I found the strength from who knows where, to draw my lamb in a maid's dress… and I wasn't very convinced…
