I love walking downstairs when my mom is watching star trek because seeing star trek scenes out of context is the greatest thing. For example, my interpretation of 2 episodes out of context are:
1) random red shirt learns magic after being taught self love by his new found family.
2) the crew adopt an adorable borg. Borg is wholesome baby. They are calling wholesome baby borg Hue. I approve.
Update: here's a conversation I just had
Me: when I left the crew were adopting a borg. I came back to 2 crew members having an existential crisis because they may or may not be half ghosts. Star trek is a fucking wild ride isn't it?
