-Just imagine it

-They all go to a barn called SPQR Equestrian Center or maybe something like Neptune Stables

-Chiron is the head coach

-Silena is the assistant coach who is fresh out of college and always spoils the horses rotten with mints and sugar cubes from her dad's candy shop

-Her boyfriend Charles Beckonford works as a Farrier (makes horse shoe's and puts them on horses' hooves) and swings by the barn a lot, even if he isn't needed

-Then he bought a horse named Festus as an excuse to see Silena more (and because he loves horses)

-His apprentice/assistant Leo, tags along and Beckonford lets him ride his horse

-To be honest Leo rides that horse more often then Beckonford does and gives Festus loads of baby carrots so now he's basically Leo's horse

-Festus is toats in love with Silena too but I mean who isn't?

-Percy has the record for most falls off a horse, but it's not Blackjack's fault, it's because Percy does stupid shit

-"Hey Annabeth! Look! No hands- AHHH!"

-Blackjack will come over to his fallen rider and give his face a big lick and Annabeth will roll her eyes, trying to hide her smile

-Blackjack is also known as donut because once there was a box of shipley's donuts on a tack chest and Blackjack grabbed it and tried to eat the donuts, box and all

-Cue 4 riders simultaneously freaking out and trying to get the box out of Blackjack's mouth because that can't be healthy for a horse's stomach

-Percy is laughing and crying as he throws away the box of crushed and horse slobber coated donuts

-Tyson pats his shoulder, it was probably meant as a comforting gesture but Tyson is so big he nearly makes Percy eat dirt

-Tyson doesn't compete in shows like Percy because he gets way too nervous, but he loves riding his Clydesdale, Rainbow

-Grover is a stable hand and basically the guy you ask if you need help

-Percy wouldn't have survived his first month at the barn without Grover's help because "What the hell is a martingale? Do you think this is too loose? Which way do you wrap polos again?"

-(Percy was to embarrassed to ask Miss Perfect Annabeth for help)

-Annabeth has a horse named Yankee as a play on "Yankee Doodle came to town riding on a pony" (also her Yankees invisibility cap cause I'm so clever)

-Annabeth is the most experienced rider at the barn

-She's been riding since she was 7

-Yankee was an anonymous gift she got on her 12th birthday and Annabeth believes it was from her mother who mysteriously disappeared after she was a year old

-She's never told anyone this belief but her best friend Thalia who's house she practically lives at given her not so good relationship with her stepmother

-People often mistake her for Jason's sister and she loves it telling Thalia she'll trade her half brothers for Jason

-Thalia then hooks her arm around Jason and pinches his cheek saying "I wouldn't trade this guy for the world" and Jason is blushing like Thalia stahp

-Jason is a pretty skilled rider himself, competing in shows and earning ribbons with his horse Tempest who has an awful attitude around everyone, but loves his girlfriend piper who comes to hang out and watch him

-Jason glasses keep falling off when he goes over jumps, so he ends up having to tape them onto his ears

-Piper finds this very amusing

-Piper is at the barn just as much as the others and they forget that she doesn't even go there

-what Piper doesn't say is that she likes being there because it's better than her empty mansion

-Her dad once asked her if she wanted to start horseback riding but Piper has what she calls a cautious perspective of horses and prefers to just go on trail rides

-she steals... I mean "borrows" Tempest

-Hazel is the barn's best barrel racer and she adores her horse Arion who the others swear she trained to be an attack dog or something because if anyone tries to touch him but Hazel he freaks out and starts bucking and kicking and foaming at the mouth

-But then Hazel comes up and suddenly Happy Ears! He'll sweetly nuzzle her pocket, searching for treats and Hazel will hold up a horse cookie saying "give me a kiss first"

-and the others think he's gonna bite her but he just lips at her cheek then she gives him the cookie and a neck rub while he munches on his treat, cooing about what a good boy he is and the others are shook

-Nico comes to the barn to support his sister and absolutely does not look at Percy in those tight riding pants

-then one day a vet trainee comes by because a horse got sick and Nico is down like oh man he's got it bad

-the cute blonde is telling Chiron about the horses boo-boo's and scrunches up his face when he thinks hard about what they should do so Porkpie can get better

-Hazel notices Nico's not so secret crush and asks Will to take a look at her horse and oh by the way this is my brother Nico

-Nico ain't sure whether he wants to hug or strangle Hazel but he feels something because his stomach seems to have gone into his throat and gah!

-Frank is new to the barn and still kinda finding his way around

-He's given the tour by Percy then he sees Hazel riding Arion and looking fan-freaking-tastic

-And Frank is like whO iS thAT

-He has a total crush on her but Hazel is oblivious

-Percy ships it

-Frank has a huge draft horse he calls Gray

-Gray used to be his mom's army calvary horse and Frank got into riding as a way to be closer to his dead mother

-But Frank is terrified of that horse because he's ginormous and is prone to "moods"

-Reyna is the best rider in the barn and she knows it. Her and Scipio are always in perfect sync and look amazing

-Reyna really scored with Scipio because he's a total sweetheart and every one else is in love with him

-He was nicknamed skippy by Jason and it stuck

-No one calls him Scipio

-it's Skippy

-Reyna always shows up to practice early and goes up to the barn every day to check on skippy even if she doesn't have a lesson

-She's freaking dedicated okay

-to be honest the barn is basically the teens second home

A/N: I ride horses so I basically spit up a million head canons Sorry! Feel free to ask me about this au because I've fallen in love with it already. This is au is all that's gonna be on my board for the next month. You have been warned.

Does Will ride horses? Maybe he starts riding horses at the barn after he was called over to check on that one horse, and Chiron asked if he'd like to ride there too, and he has always wanted to ride horses, but he never got the chance, so he agrees with Chiron and practically becomes the barn's personal vet?

Well last time Will rode a horse this happened:

Will decided he’d just stick to helping horses feel better.

But I see where your going with that. Will is at the barn a lot more often after he met Nico… for some reason I couldn’t imagine. So yeah Will is basically the barn’s personal vet. Horse back riding can be dangerous, and injuries aren’t un common, with the horses as well as the riders.

Speaking of injuries, Nico once got kicked in the gut by Arion because he was holding him for Hazel or something. Everyone freaked out asking him if he was okay but Nico insisted that he was fine, “It’ll probably just leave a little bruise”

Will has none of it. He insists to take a look. Doctors orders. Nico ends up taking off his shirt instead of just lifting it up for reasons unknown but Will sure as hell ain’t complaining. The whole area above Nico’s left hip is purple Will’s like “yeah just a little bruise my ass put some ice on that mr I’m too cool for injuries.” Nico gets the ice and watches Hazel ride, while Will watches him and fusses at Nico anytime he takes the ice pack off.

“I’m just getting out my phone, she wanted me to video her!” “Give me the phone I’ll video her. You keep that ice on death metal boy.” Nico happened to be wearing a death metal shirt that day. At least it wasn’t the skull shirt.

Does anyone at the barn ride chariots?

It’s not exactly a chariot, but for Christmas Leo and Beckendorf made there own Santa’s Sleigh. The “sleigh” was the hay cart painted red with white stuffing glued to the sides, and pulled by Festus the champion of our hearts. Leo dressed up as an Elf, Beckendorf was Santa and he asked Mrs Claus (Silena) for a kiss. Leo asks if he can get a kiss too and Silena gives him a kiss on the cheek. Leo promptly faints. Beckendorf laughs saying that he had the same reaction when Silena first kissed him. They took kids on hay rides around the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights. Percy’s baby sister, Stella, especially loves it. Percy puts Stella on his shoulders so she can pet the “horsie”Annabeth thinks it’s adorable. It’s one of the really fun Holiday things the riders do, it keeps them from getting “too” show focused. Focused is good but they like to have fun and not make it all about the competition. Speaking of fun, they have loads of other silly and fun traditionsFor Halloween they dress up their horses which always gets squeals of delight from the kids who come to see the show.

Hey, it's me again. Has Nico ever been on a horse? I feel like he would be someone who enjoys it, but doesn't want anyone else to know about it.

Nico knows how to ride horses. You can’t be Hazel Levesque’s brother and not know, but he doesn’t take lessons or do shows like the others riders. Will of course wouldn’t object if Nico ever decided to take lessons (equestrians tend to wear skin tight pants) But Nico ain’t no slacker, he’s at the barn almost as much as Hazel. He’ll pat a horses’ nose as he walks by or help a newbie tack up. People who don’t know Nico personally will think “Oh there’s Hazel’s brother”. Nico doesn’t mind, he’s proud of his sister and supports her horse back riding a 100%. He takes pictures of her and Arion. He goes to all of her shows and is just there for her. I just came up with a good idea. What if hazel, knowing Nico has a crush on will, tries to convince will to try riding a horse again. She of course makes sure he gets the most gentle pony they have at the stable, and then she drags Nico over to watch.

-There’s a pond on the property and in the summer months the team rides their horses bareback to the pond

-Hazel insists that Nico and Will just have to come

-But oh no, they only have one horse to spare, they’ll just have to ride the same horse, sigh

-The road to the pond can get a bit bumpy, and Will’s still a teensy bit scared of riding horses, better hold on tight

-It doesn’t matter that Silena’s chunky pony, Porkpie, is the sweetest thing and would never hurt a fly.

-Will has a death grip on Nico’s waist

-Nico is struggling to breath, but can’t decide whether it’s because of his proximity to Will or the medic’s iron grip

-Nico also hears the suspicious sound of a phone’s camera clicking and when he looks back he sees Jason pocketing his phone and whistling while Piper hides her giggles in her boyfriend’s shoulder.

-Not suspicious at all

-It totally wasn’t a complete set up by the rest of the riders.

-Hazel doesn’t keep glancing back at them and giving Nico a thumbs up.

-Frank face doesn’t turn red every time he looks at the pair of boys

-Percy doesn’t ask Annabeth if Nico has a thing for blondes

-Reyna doesn’t make the I’m watching you hand signal and tell Will to keep his hands above the waist

-Piper doesn’t take more pictures for Jason

-Leo doesn’t charge Festus into the lake screaming for Narnia and Rainbows as he goes down

-Totally not a set up

-Will grips Nico tighter and buries his head into Nico’s neck saying “I can’t look” as Porkpie wades into the water

-Nico calls Will a big baby

-Nico is also internally screams at the fact that Will Solace’s face is in his neck

-Percy splashes the “love birds” and Will is so shocked he falls off into the water

-Nico almost kicks Will when he grabs onto his foot trying to get up because I am not getting trampled

-Nico snorts and helps the “big baby” back up

-“Did you just laugh at me?” Will asks, starting to grin

-Nico sticks his nose in the air. “I don’t know what your talking about”

-“I just made mister mc frowny face Di Angelo laugh!” Will yells as he fist pumps

-Nico tries to shove Will back into the water

-He succeeds, but Nico also falls into the water

-Someone grabbed his arm on their way down

-Nico splashes Will

-Will splashes Nico

-Porkpie watches his riders get into a splash fight

-Percy says Porkpie is thinking about how cute his riders are

-Then a soaking shoe hits him in the head

How did Percy ever get blackjack? And how long has he had him?

-You thought you’d just get Percy’s story but jokes on you your getting more than that! -In my first post I told you how Annabeth, Frank, and Leo got their horses but the rest of the riders have their own stories

-Percy got blackjack when he was 13 -His mom’s new book had been a rousing success and they finally had enough money to buy a horse -The set off on a quest to find the horse that was just right for Percy (and within their budget) -He tried loads of horses, mares, stallions, and geldings, even a zebra, but none of them seemed right -Chiron advised Percy to be patient and not rush into buying a horse, he also says something mysterious about how the right horse will pick him -Percy decides to ignore that, he thinks Chiron is just trying trying to be cool by quoting Harry Potter -Months later when Percy is at one of Annabeth’s shows he sees the strangest thing -a rider on a jet black horse does a course almost flawlessly, to be honest it looks like the horse is doing all the work -they come to the final jump, a big 2 foot oxer surrounded by blue and yellow flowers -the horse approaches the jump, cantering right for it, just a foot away -and then the horse stops -a full out Reiner stop that sends the rider flying out of the saddle and into the dirt -the horse is happily munching on the jump’s flowers as the rider glares at him, not hurt, just pissed -Percy couldn’t help but laugh even if he felt a little sorry for the disqualified rider -later as Percy was leisurely walking past some stalls a horse suddenly sticks their head out and grabs the giant pretzel he’d been eating -Percy does a double take -It was the same black horse from before! -Then he comes to his senses and tries to save his pretzel -but it’s too late -the pretzel is gone -Percy glares at the horse who looks back at him oh so innocently -Then he notices the for sale sign on the door -Blackjack, 15.7 h, Gelding, Arabian cross, Has personality *Price has been reduced* -Percy snorts, he knows exactly what the sign means by personality -But the part about the price reduction catches his eye -Arabian horses were usually pretty expensive, this could be a good deal if Percy could train his bad habits out of him -So Percy asks Annabeth and Grover for help -They track down the horse’s owner who turned out not to be the rider that took a tumble earlier but a woman -Blackjack belonged to a strange lady named Andromeda -She looked kinda sketchy but told them the price which turned out to be a little less than what they were expecting -Well to be fair the horse did have a personality problem -Percy brought his mom and Chiron next and after a heaping load of paper work and a big chunk being taken out of the Jackson’s bank account -Percy now owns a horse -He tells Annabeth to watch out because her and Yankee are gonna have some competition -Annabeth laughs and tells him to keep dreaming

-Jason’s old coach Lupa helped him “shop” for a horse -They go to an auction and he sees a crazy horse that’s thrashing against the rope that’s tying it to the wood wall -Jason think about how he’s definitely not getting that horse -Suddenly a plank in the wall rips off and the horse bolts, dragging the rope and board behind it -Lupa stands in the horses path and tells Jason to grab the rope -Jason doesn’t want to grab the rope -the horse has clearly been possessed by a demon -but he does it anyways because he’s more scared of what Lupa will do if he doesn’t -Nothing is scarier than an angry Coach Lupa (they call her a wolf for a reason) -the horse of course tries to bite his hand off, but Jason stand his ground and manages to get it to calm down a bit -The owner comes up to thank them for stopping Tempest and Lupa nods saying they’ll buy the horse as well -Jason jaw drops -She wants him to ride that wild thing? Is it even tame? -Lupa buys the monstrous mare and takes it back with them (Tempest is a mare in this au because it fits better to the horses’ personality, if you’ve ever seen an angry mare you know what I mean) -Jason eventually figures out that Lupa chose Tempest for Jason to toughen him up -He was too nice to the horses and let them have their way -That wasn’t good, so Lupa got him a horse that forced him to take charge and not let the horse be the boss -Now Jason can handle almost any bullshit a horse might dare to throw at him thanks to his old coach -Jason eventually transfers to Neptune Stables when’s he’s 15 because Lupa retires and Thalia suggests he go to the same barn as her best friend Annabeth -At high rank shows Jason will sometimes see Lupa’s sons competing and even say hello or wave to Lupa if she’s nearby

-Hazel goes to the rodeo with her dad’s assistant, Thanatos, and her brother, Nico (who she’d practically dragged there, because don’t leave me alone with dad’s creepy assistant) -Nico insists they’re just here for the show -No more horse shopping -Hazel had been wanting her own horse ever since she started barrel racing -The lesson horses were great but she couldn’t help but want her own horse -She’s been shopping for horses since her dad finally crumbled on her 14rh birthday and said she could get a horse -Once Nico is distracted by the concession stand food, Hazel sneaks off to take a quick peak at the horses -She is walking by the stalls when suddenly a horse neighs and kicks it’s stall door so hard that the wood shudders -Then an angry looking woman marches in, she opens the horse’s stall window and yells “ARION! QUIT THAT RACKET!” And stalks off, leaving the window open -the horse, Arion, pokes his head out and looks at Hazel with curious eyes -Hazel can’t help herself, she stretches out her hand to pet his nose, a little wary because he might try and bite her -Arion allows her to rub his nose, even going to nuzzle her hand in return -Hazel’s in love -There’s no going back -then Hazel phone chimes with an angry text from Nico demanding to know where she is -Hazel pouts and reluctantly leaves Arion after one final bye bye pat -Hazel’s walking back when she runs into the lady from before, the one who yelled at Arion -Before she knows what she’s saying Hazel asks if he’s for sale -The lady laughs and says he’s been on sale for 4 years now and that it’s owner just wants to get rid of Arion because of his unruly behavior -Since no one has bought him their gonna sell Arion to the slaughter house -Hazel is appalled -How could they even think of sending that majestic creature to be killed and made into dog food -No, Hazel decides, she won’t allow it -and that’s how she ended up buying him after sweet talking Nico and Thantos

-When Reyna gets Scipio, Hylla insists their just leasing him -Yeah, they fully bought him after two months -I was to lazy to make up a big story for Reyna -Sorry

Okay, so, we know will got thrown off when he first tried to ride a horse, but what happened exactly?

-Coach hedge-Coach hedge is what happened -He put Will on a green horse mistaking him for Jason (jason often helps train the new horses)-This one mustang was prone to rearing when you pulled too hard on it’s mouth -Will was new to riding and as soon as the mustang went a little faster he choked up on the reins and the horse reared -But Will didn’t fall off-He just cussed the horse out very colorfully and clung to his neck for dear life -Annabeth and Nico had to pry him off the horse because Will refused to let go of the mustang’s neck-Nico asked him if he was hurt-Will was okay, just traumatized-he had his hand over his heart like he was waiting for it to stop beating so fast after that terrifying experience -Nico then went and chewed out Coach Hedge -“What the hell were you thinking putting Will on that horse?!”-“How was I supposed to know he wasn’t Jason?”-“He looks nothing like Jason!”-“They’re both blond!”-Nico has to walk away to try to calm down and not blow a gasket -Will hasn’t tried to ride a horse since

-I have coach hedge as another assistant coach in this au-Right now he’s on parental leave because of his newborn son Chuck

Tempest Iikes Piper better than Jason. Tempest is a total brat to Jason but when Piper comes around suddenly HAPPY EARS!

So, we have Solangelo pining for each other but being to oblivious that it's mutual, but how do they get together eventually? Who helped set it up for those two dorks, and what did they set up exactly? We all know that they would never get together if left to their own devices, they're just too oblivious.

-So I’m gonna explain the couples in this equestrian au-Percabeth and Jasiper are already together-Percabeth is the couple that’s been a thing forever and are super comfortable around each other-Jasiper is the newly together couple that is still working out the kinks-Solangelo and Frazel are getting there. -Basically Nico and Will are awkward dorks who dodge around each other so much they might as well be doing parkour-But they’re totally crushing on each other-Hazel is the oblivious one and Frank is just too shy to say anything-Correction they’re both super shy. Hazel only seems oblivious because she keeps on telling herself how there’s no way she can like Frank-Jason and Percy are the “match maker bros” of the group and if anyone is meddling in other people’s lives… it’s those two-Piper is the one who fussed at them and tells them to let the others get together on their own time-Jason says it’s too late because he already made a solangelo fan page on Instagram and it has 200 followers-Piper is so done

Where is Octavian in this au?

-Octavian is that bratty rich kid who never cleans up after himself and tells the help to do it -He once bad mouthed Grover for having a shitty job as a stable hand and Percy was about to throw himself at Octavian -Chiron barely managed to stop him-Percy was forced to go and take a walk-Percy walked (stomped) very angrily around the stable-Chiron tells him them that he can’t kick Octavian out because his family donates a lot of money to the barn and it would suffer financially if his parents pulled out their support-So Annabeth locks Octavian in the bathroom and walks away whistling -Chiron lets him out after hearing the banging and screaming which the others had pointedly ignored -Everyone hates Octavian-Everyone -Even Frank-When Frank hates someone you know they’re a serious douche nozzle

PJO Equestrian Au Part 2: Show headcanons

My first post of this au just hit 200 notes and I'm so excited! So as a thank you I posted a part 2! What happens when these wacko jobs go to shows to compete. Seriously thanks a million!

-When they go to shows they always end up carpooling with Percy's mom because they love her

-The girls have sleepovers in the eachothers' hotel room, singing songs, and staying up way to late when they should be getting some rest because they have to get to the barn at 5 in the goddamned morning

-They always book at the hotels that have free breakfast and Percy complains that nothing is blue but he inhales an unholy amount of Texas shaped waffles

-Annabeth takes a bite out of Piper's toast

-Piper swipes some eggs off of Annabeth's plate

-Piper is the most supportive girlfriend ever and going to almost all of Jason's shows or maybe it's just because she wants to hang out with the girls wHO KnOWs?

-They never leave the show until all of them are done because they have to cheer each other on

-There will be a section of the stands with a giant group of teenagers with an assortment of riding clothes and pajamas

-Annabeth is the person with the show schedule who jots down the scores and keeps track of time

-The others would never be in the right place without Annabeth

-Excpet Reyna cause she's perfect

-Don't even think about doing anything to embarrass the barn because Reyna will swoop down on you like a mighty eagle of vengeance

-At shows sometimes Percy and Jason are in the same class because of their similar skill level and they're always like "I'm gonna kick your ass!" "No. I'm gonna kick your ass!"

-Reyna takes none of their shit and gives them her "stop speaking unless you wish to die" look

-Reyna and Annabeth have a grudging respect for each other

-Being the best riders at the barn and all

-When they're around each other Jason and Percy are scared out of their wits

-Correction: everyone is scared out of their wits

-Chiron gets stressed at shows because he's running around trying to get to each of his riders

-So Silena is the one who had to make sure they're actually presentable

-Button up your collar Percy!

-Annabeth your hair is a mess, tuck those wispies in!

-Don't forget your glasses, Jason, you want to be able to actually see the course.

-There's dirt all over your pants Hazel!

-Frank! Where is your number?

-And Reyna... you’re good

-Frank got super nervous before his first show and Percy gives him a pep talk

-Percy: "repeat after me, I wanna be the very best"

-Frank: *hesitantly* "I wanna be the very best"

-Percy: "Like no one ever was"

-Frank: "Like no one ever was"

-Percy: "To catch them is my real test"

-Frank: "To catch them is-Wait. That's the Pokémon theme song! Percy! Stop laughing!"

-Frank ended up getting first and he had to ask at least 3 people if he heard it right before he actually believed it and his face broke into the biggest most heart warming smile ever seen

-then Hazel congratulated him pinning the blue ribbon on his coat

-then she kissed him on the cheek and Frank went bright red

-Jason and Percy take pics because they're ship is nearly canon!

-One time they went to a show in December and it was freezing

-They were all crowded around the heat buddy that Leo brought

-Like penguins nuzzling together for warmth

-It would've been nice if they weren't shivering and possibly getting hypothermia

-They walked the course all bundled up in blankets

-Percy and Annabeth shared Percy's little mermaid blanket

-Hazel had on 3 jackets, Her's, Nico's, and Frank's

-After Nico gave Hazel his jacket Will wrapped him in a part of his blanket because god dammit Nico your gonna freeze

-Jason takes a picture of them and puts it on snap chat with the caption "solangelo is real"

-Hmm for most prizes I’d say Annabeth since she’s been riding the since she was seven -and for the ribbons they take their ribbons home but the team stuff is kept in Chiron’s office -Silena also scrapbooks -she has really good pictures and hella cute borders -She’s basically the team mom
