Primrose Everdeen - Tumblr Posts
Just started rereading The Hunger Games after years and got to the part where katniss is like "this used to be Appalachia"
Now I'm imagining a world where the capitol invaded district 12 instead of bombing it.
Just so many soldiers disappearing because sweet, innocent Primrose told them that if they see a deer with unusually vibrant coloration they should pet it because it gives good luck and therefore getting eaten by a Not-Deer
Forget the tactical advantage 12 has because only miners can navigate the mines, the capitol will lose the war off of the natural threats of the mountains

willow shields posted these recently and all i could think of was that this is truly peak prim energy
PRIMROSE EVERDEEN

almost broke down 4 times while drawing this š

Theyāre not gonna pick you

Unfortunately, the packet of coockies hits the ground and bursts open in a patch of dandelions by the track. I only see the image for a moment , but it reminds me of that other dandelion in the school yard years ago...
I had just turned away from Peeta Mellark's bruised face when I saw the dandelion and I knew hope wasn't lost. I plucked it carefully and hurried home. I grabbed a bucket and Prim's hand and headed to the Meadow and yes, it was dotted with the golden-headed weeds. After we'd harvested those, we scroundged along inside the fence for probably a mile until we'd filled the bucket with the dandelion greens, stems and flowers.
ThatĀ night, we gorged ourselves on dandelion salad and the rest of the bakery bread.
"What else?" Prim asked me. "What other food can we find?"
"All kinds of things," I promised her. "I just have to remember them."

I realize I've never even bothered to ask her about how she's handling the shock of coming here. "So, how are you liking Thirteen, Prim?" I offer.
"Right now?" she asks. We both laugh. "I miss home badly sometimes. But then I remember there's nothing left to miss any more. I feel safer here. We don't have to worry about you. Well, not the same way." She pauses, and then a shy smile crosses her lips. "I think they're going to train me to be a doctor."
It's the first I've heard of it."Well, of course they are. They'd be stupid not to."
"They've been watching me when I help out in the hospital. I'm already taking medic courses. It's just beginner's stuff. I know a lot from home. Still, there's plenty to learn," she tells me.
"That's great," I say. Prim a doctor. She couldn't even dream of it in 12. Something small and quiet, like a match being struck, lights up the gloom inside me. This is the sort of future a rebellion could bring.

First I get a glimpse of the blonde plait down her back. Then, as she yanks off her coat to cover a wailing child, I notice the duck tail formed by her untucked shirt. I have the same reaction I did the day Effie Trinket called her name at the reaping. At least, I must go limp, because I find myself at the base of the flagpole, unable to account for the last few seconds. Then I am pushing through the crowd, just as I did before. Trying to shout her name above the roar. I'm almost there, almost to the barricade, when I think she hears me. Because for just a moment, she catches sight of me, her lips form my name.
And that's when the rest of the parachutes go off.

Aw. This is really something

"She is dancing away from you now.
She was just a wish. She was just a wish.
And her memory is all that is left for you now."
Here it is! The drawing I said would kill you all. I have been listening to Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac on a loop, thinking about Katniss and her grief. I saw a post floating around talking about hair being part of the grieving process, as well as my old drawing of Katniss with chopped hair after Prim's death. I just wanted to express a whole lot of pain. Then I saw a really good reference image on Pinterest, and the rest is history! Hope you all enjoy being hurt!
Name ten female characters you like, you get zapped if it's jsut a male character you call a babygirl or other feminine nicknames because I can't see people calling Lestat coquette again
I talk about hunger games so little its a crime considering how much I adore those books but lets get into it!
In my opinion, Gale was the right person for the revolution and the absolute wrong person for Katniss.
First of all, Gale would have given us everything we needed in life if he and prim had been picked rather than Katniss and Peeta, but thats besides the point.
Gale was a perfect soldier, and a good revolutionary. In the first book, he voices the ideals that a lot of people are voicing currently. Bring down the capitalist regime and free the people by any means necessary. Gale is right to not trust the people from the capital when they came to district 13.
He gave Katniss as much freedom as he possibly could. The only reason he's painted as a villain and written to kill Prim is that the author intended for Peeta to be the one Katniss is in love with.
Anyways Gale would have made a good mockingjay and I was very attached to him as a kid so the last book is my least favourite by far because MY BOY.
The "They had justified reasons for being angry at their current society and government but were made to look evil by the narrative by having them do fucked up things to disregard their ideologies and trauma" Squad :

Part 2 āŗļø
People of tumblr
I'm trying to find a art piece with peeta and Katniss and primrose flowers which has two parts help me find the wonderful art and artists
Katniss taking Primrose shopping at real boutique for the first time, to purchase something just for her use and enjoyment.
Every time she finds a pretty piece, she looks back at Katniss with an expression that asks if itās ok to try just one more, and Katniss responds with a reassuring nod.
She picks out three dresses, but promises to try them on and narrow it down to one, in fact sheād be happy to leave with just the experience (even though Katniss would buy the whole store if Prim asked). They head over to the fitting rooms, and Prim presents the clothes to the lady behind the counter. After flipping through the hangers, the woman hands her a card with the number 3.
On the tips of her toes and her chin held high, she strides with the confidence of ten capitolites to the room marked ā3ā- to the horror of the poor woman occupying it.
This probably doesnāt add anything that hasnāt already been said to the conversation, but I come from a country where the majority of the population has a mix of indigenous, African, and European ancestry (unfortunately the first colony in the Americas) and if that quote from Suzanne Collinās is true (āIt is a time period where hundreds of years have passed from now. There's been a lot of ethnic mixing.ā) Iām going to assume Seam folk have a similar background. Iāve seen firsthand how two siblings with the same parents can be born with wildly different physical characteristics (ex: my grandma with very dark brown skin, eyes, and black hair vs her sister with very light tanned skin, brown hair, and green eyes).
āAppalachia is 90% whiteā
āKatniss is only described as olive skinned, that like so many Europeansā
āPrimās blonde, thatās weird for a biracial person.ā
Bitch shut the fuck you and just say your racist ass doesnāt accept that the Seam are stand in for minority races. Having two pasty ass group of people with different hair colours isnāt going make anyone notice or analyze the class divide between the Seam and Merchants. I fucking hate the movies for white washing Haymitch and Katniss because their Seam backgrounds are exactly why they understand each other. They have their own small culture and identity from the merchants.
It also visually shows how Peeta and her mother are outsiders. Itās important. It matters!!!!
And I get why Katniss and Haymitch were white back when the movies first came out, but times have fucking changed and I want the representation that existed in the books from the beginning.
Second of all, you can be biracial and have blonde hair as long as both parents have the fucking gene. 12 is small as shit, people get around and cross townlines from time to time. Shut the fuck up.
I fucking hate it here.

WHEW i finally got around to colouring this. this might be my only THG art that isnāt just a sketch lol

I've decided I need to rewatch The Hunger Games movies. That is all, thank you.
