Anne is surprisingly sexually inexperienced, which is a fucking delight to write! Real change of pace for me. Now, don’t get it twisted—she’s not a virgin. She’s just had less sexual experience than one might expect out of a pirate, particularly one with her reputation. (Like much of the rest of this blog, that’s the whole damn point!)

TL;DR?: Anne has very little experience but she’s very good at oral.

Most of Anne’s inexperience can actually be directly traced back to her first marriage. Friendly reminder that she was sixteen (in my canon) when she married James. She’d had one lover before him; it ended badly the same night it started. Then there was James, a relationship that slowly twisted and soured into a very similar shape with a remarkably similar ending. I won’t go into all the sordid details, but a year or so into their marriage, Anne learned something: James didn’t care if she got hers or not. That made two of two people she’d slept with that didn’t care, one of which was also horrifically abusive. She learned fast that if she got James off, he didn’t care what happened next. So Anne got very, very good at giving oral. It was the fastest way she learned to get James off and off her back.

To no one’s surprise but Anne’s, her next lover was similarly inattentive to her needs. Two’s coincidence, but three’s a pattern—Anne, at age nineteen, came to assume sex really was just a chore of the marital bed. (There’s a reason it was referred to as a “duty,” she assumed, and now’s when I remind you this was a common line of thought among women at the time.) She started to assume sex and everything that came with it was just more of nature being a bitch to women: they cramp and bleed once a month if they’re not pregnant, eventually the cramping stops and hot flashes set in, and sometimes they become unbearably horny with no satisfying way to take care of the issue. To the point where, while married to Jack, she began to assume arousal was like some kind of bodily signal that she needed to seek him out and so often did.

Now, this isn’t all to say that Anne’s never gotten off. Fear not! She just…hasn’t gotten off with a partner. A little while into her marriage to Jack, he started snubbing her advances. One night Anne was frustrated by it all and decided to make the arousal go away by mimicking intercourse. She just hoped it would be enough to loan her some peace, but in the process she ended up discovering a few things about herself. Like her clit. And that she can enjoy sexual contact past vicarious enjoyment through her partner, under the right circumstances. The next time she slept with Jack, when he was done and she…wasn’t, she finished herself off. That was one of the last times she slept with Jack.

I talk about hunger games so little its a crime considering how much I adore those books but lets get into it!

In my opinion, Gale was the right person for the revolution and the absolute wrong person for Katniss.

First of all, Gale would have given us everything we needed in life if he and prim had been picked rather than Katniss and Peeta, but thats besides the point.

Gale was a perfect soldier, and a good revolutionary. In the first book, he voices the ideals that a lot of people are voicing currently. Bring down the capitalist regime and free the people by any means necessary. Gale is right to not trust the people from the capital when they came to district 13.

He gave Katniss as much freedom as he possibly could. The only reason he's painted as a villain and written to kill Prim is that the author intended for Peeta to be the one Katniss is in love with.

Anyways Gale would have made a good mockingjay and I was very attached to him as a kid so the last book is my least favourite by far because MY BOY.

Ken walks into the large bright Barbie dream house, only to find you and Barbie laughing and talking. His heart stank when he saw you laugh at Barbie’s jokes, the way your eyes sparkled when looking at her, he felt jealousy,envy for the very first time

He never thought you would look at anyone else that way, he thought he was the only one who made you laugh like that,made you giggle and smile that bright and loud, it made him question your guys relationship and was it really like how he thought it was?

He tried to brush off his feelings, reminding himself that you are free to be friends with anyone you chose to be with. But as the days passed, Ken found himself struggling to hide his emotions. Every time he saw you and barbie together, it felt like a punch to his heart slowly feeling replaced day by day.

Sitting alone in the dimly lit room, Ken pondered over his feelings. He realized that his jealousy stemmed from his fear of losing you to someone else. He had always believed that he was the one who made you smile the most, and now he wondered if he was genuinely being replaced by barbie.

Unable to bear the weight of his emotions any longer, Ken decided to confront you. He found you in your bedroom, arranging your collection of accessories. Taking a deep breath, he mustered the courage to speak.

"Y/n, can we talk?" Ken's voice wavered slightly, betraying his inner turmoil.

You turned around, your eyes filled with concern. "Of course, Ken. What's on your mind?"

The way you said his name made him all fuzzy inside, he always felt at peace, at warmth with you and he was realizing that the more you talk to Barbie, the more he is getting replaced which meant he wouldn’t be able to speak to you again, he wouldn’t be able to hear you talk to him and he didn’t want that

So deep in thought ken hesitated for a moment before pouring out his feelings. He admitted his jealousy and insecurity, explaining how it hurt to see you with barbie. He confessed that he feared being replaced in your heart. you listened attentively, your expression softening with each word. When Ken finished, there was a moment of silence before you spoke.

"Ken, I understand why you feel this way, but I want you to know that you're irreplaceable to me. You've always been there for me, and our connection is special. Barbie is a friend, and nothing more. You hold a special place in my heart, and that will never change."

Ken felt a weight lifted off his shoulders as he absorbed Your words. He realized that his fears had been unfounded, and he had let jealousy cloud his judgment. He apologized for doubting your bond and thanked you dearly for understanding.

From that day forward, Ken vowed to trust your guys relationship. He learned to appreciate the friendships you formed with others and understood that it didn't diminish what you guys shared. Together you guys continued to embark on adventures, your love and bond stronger than ever before.

BarbieLand became a place of love, laughter, and understanding, where jealousy was conquered by trust, and hearts grew even closer.

if there's a trope that instantly kills suspense of disbelief for me, it's the tragic rain of sadness i.e. when it begins to rain the moment something sad and personal happens to the character

Gorthalax and Gilear both have “do it for her” type boards for Fig in their offices. Gilear’s is full of old pictures he’s saved that Fig had drawn as a child, pictures from spring break, photos that the other parents send him of Fig and her friends being rowdy teenagers, selfies in the weird Snapchat filters she insists they take together. Gorthalax’s board has a lot of tour pictures, pieces of paper with songs that he and Fig worked on (covered in doodles and commentary from both of them), receipts from restaurants and ice cream hang outs and mall runs, and little postcards they bought and signed from every town they visited. He also turned bits of the ruby she shattered into the tops of push pins to remember just how badass his daughter and her girlfriend are. Both have different ways of bonding and involving themselves in their daughters life, but there’s no doubt that Gorthalax and Gilear love Fig very, very much.

It’s a breezy summer day and the rustling from the leaves outside sound like whispers from my small apartment. I’m sitting in front of my laptop, silently studying the 1.6 billion faces speaking simultaneously in front of me. It’s Monday, the day of the weekly conference call between all Muslims.
