I DON'T UNDERSTAND with the TOO MUCH hate thrown to Sansa Stark
As a fan of Sansa Stark, as sansa stan, I can't understand why she receives so much unnecessary hate from people, even for the smallest reasons! It's frustrating to see negative comments about her, even in discussions that have nothing to do with her. Comments like "Sansa is power-hungry" or "Sansa only cares about herself, Sansa this, Sansa that", etc don't reflect her true character, invalid reeasons. I mean, if you hate Sansa, fine, but at least find valid reasons to hate her LOL. A lot of hate that I found thrown at Sansa is baseless or invalid, like.. you claim to hate a character but the reason why do you hate the character is MEH đŤ¤. And even I found some statements regarding Sansa are misleadingâď¸.
Like.. you are wasting your time on a character that you hate by saying invalid/unreasonable things. We, the Sansa stans are like: đđđđ
In both the book series and the Game of Thrones TV show, Sansa Stark is the opposite of what these comments say. She is a kind and empathetic person who genuinely cares for her people. Her character has shown significant growth and development throughout her journey. She has become smart not the old naive Sansa anymore, she learnedâď¸.
It's normal for teenagers who just hit puberty, whose emotions are unstable, including Sansa, to have moments of immaturity, and it's unfair to judge her for that. Don't act as if you all didnât act like a brat when you all were teenagers who hit puberty.
The negative reactions toward her seem to stem from a misogynistic mindset that can't accept a traditional feminine woman being powerful and resilient, it's you all who are just misogynists or anti to a feminine woman. Just because she is a traditional feminine woman and doesn't need to pick up a sword to be powerful and she survived and she has done so much for her people, so you all hate her for that⌠really??? And if you say that Sansa did nothing you better touch some grass cuz it's so wrong
She cannot use weapons, she only knows basic fight and she is not a combatant like Arya or Brienne, but she is powerful. Power does not always rely on the physique, Sansa's true power is on her brain, and she played the game. She's a deadly politician, diplomat, tactician, and manipulator (manipulator in a good way). She is strong LIKE A LADY, LADY-LIKE STRENGTH LIKE HER MOTHER.
Sansa learned from Cersei, Petyr Baelish, Tyrion, Margaery, etc. She absorbed the good but she threw the bad one. Sansa Stark they could never make me hate you â¤ď¸â¤ď¸. I love her â¤ď¸đĽş.
I find it frustrating when people continue to speak negatively about Sansa after all this time. Some people seem to have issues with Sansa for invalid reasons, which is ridiculous. You can hate a character, but if you hate the character for invalid reasons of course people would questioning you. Moreover hating without valid proofs and misleading understanding.
And by the way in the TV show, it's important to remember that Sansa is winning, she's the Queen in the North, and the last words on the show were her people proclaiming her as their queen. All of the surviving main characters respect Sansa's competence, kindness, intelligence, and strength. In addition, Arya expressed love and admiration for her sister, and Jon killed Dany for Sansa. So, feel free to talk negatively about her, but Sansa and her supporters have definitely come out on top.

People are flipping out because there are ratings online of Sansa being described as the most beautiful in asoiaf. Why are they mad? because Dany isnât number one, Sansa is. I mean both are beautiful⌠but Sansaâs got that winter rose beauty.
sandor is still an old man who needs to stay away from sansa.
âYou look almost a woman ⌠face, teats, and youâre taller too, almost ⌠ah, youâre still a stupid little bird, arenât you?â he made like this comment towards a 11-12 year old. donât even get me started on him telling arya about how he wished to assault her. if you honestly ship sansa with him i donât trust you.
Perhaps the most weapons-grade stupid anti argument is, âIf you ship Sansa with an old man, youâre not a real Sansa fan and even less so if he's disabled in some wayâ because itâs such low hanging fruit and ableist and gross.
I assume that many of these people self-insert themselves into Sansaâs place and thus react to Sansaâs canon pairings as if they themselves were presented with those options. (For the record, if a Sandor Clegane-type man shows up at their door, they can certainly send him my direction and I will take him off their hands and into mine đ)
Itâs not inherently wrong to identify with a character. In fact, one of GRRMâs strengths as a writer is writing compelling characters who are flawed and dimensional. But trying to police what parts of a character and character arc constitute being a âreal fanâ is even more laughable than just engaging in a good olâ fashioned ship war.
And whatâs ironic is that these are the same people who ignore and trivialize the canon basis of SanSan and Sandor's role in her character arc. Notice I said nothing about them being end game here. I simply acknowledge that they both had a meaningful impact on each other.
So, tell me again whoâs the TrUe FaNâthe people who read the books and correctly comprehended Sansaâs arc and how other characters impacted it or the people who try to shoehorn their teenage heartthrob fantasies onto a fictional character and get mad when that shoe doesn't fit.

âshe was," eddard stark agreed, "beautiful, and willful, and dead before her time." -arya II agot
âsansa wondered. vainly, she searched for friendly faces. not one of them would meet her eyes. It was as if she had become a ghost, dead before her time.â- sansa V agot
the fact that sansa rejected the pomegranate which symbolizes death(and in persephoneâs story it symbolized her imprisonment in the underworld) but instead she chose the pear which represented life, immortality and prosperity.

asoiaf twitter got angry because sansa and ned have actual parallels.. or that lyanna and sansa have a few parallels, apparently the only parallel sansa has is with lysa who tried to kill her???

sansa would have known who he was, and the fat one too, but arya had never taken much interest in titles and sigils
each of the lords declarant had brought a thousand [men], and there were six of them. alayne knew their names as well as her own- alayne I affc
petyr had given her a roll of arms to study, so she knew their heraldry if not their faces. - alayne I affc

just thinking about how sansa stark is named after a stark woman whoâs birthright got stolen..

sansa stark affc outline âresolve to be sansa stark and take northâ.
i always love your responses because i think you do such a good job explaining things (even though some of it is just common sense)... so i was wondering if you could read this meta? i've come across this sort of idea about sansa before in their circles, but this is the first time that i've seen them try to argue that she is somehow inherently unloveable *rolls eyes*
-Something I find really interesting is that for all Sansa craves admiration and âloveâ from others, sheâs not especially good at making friends or inspiring supporters. When people do decide to support or âbefriendâ her in the story, it is always with ulterior motivesâalmost all of which serve themselves. This includes characters like the Hound, whose connection to Sansa is built off his own ideology concerning knighthood and gender in their social system.
Her inability to create that support system is partially due to her environments: Kingâs Landing and the Vale, neither of which are necessarily forgiving places. However, despite her hostage status and shamed House, Sansa is still a valuable person to befriend, even if only for ladies. Sheâs pretty, performs her ladyhood well, has a famous bloodline, and is tied to the very wealthy ruling family. Whatâs more, sheâs obviously mistreated (for a portion of her time in the capital) and without much actual power. If anything, she should garner sympathy friendships, but with everything else in mind, she should attract at least some love, some support that isnât totally disingenuous or self-serving, however minuscule. And yet even that eludes her for some reason.
The way similar charactersâher siblings particularlyâso easily find friends and supporters throughout the books really draws Sansaâs lack of them to the forefront. Jon, for example, finds friends in both the Nightâs Watch and amongst the wildlings. Bran forms close friendships with Jojen and Meera. Arya literally makes friends in nearly every place she goes, be they high- or lowborn. Daenerys finds companions in her ladies and Missandei and gathers loyal supporters in people like Ser Barristan. Even Catelyn as Lady Stoneheart earns the support of the Brotherhood. Granted, many of these supporters operate in their devotion to specific Houses, but theyâre not doing it to serve their own wants and desires, which is a stark contrast to those âsupportersâ who surround Sansa at various times.
All in all, Iâm intrigued at the way Sansaâs desire for loveâgenuine or affectedâevades her while many of her contemporaries, misfits and traditional characters alike, garner it quite easily. Aside from her environments, what is it about her specifically that seems to repel genuine relationships? And what does this persistent inability to gather loyal friends, companions, and supporters indicate about her future role, if there is one?-
if you can probably tell its written by an arya stan
I laughed. đ Anything to cling to the idea of queen Arya - or rather not!queen Sansa.
As if being a hostage of the royal family in the royal palace in the royal capital, surrounded by enemies and spies is not the entire reason Sansa is isolated. Do they even consider how much more risk is involved in even casually approaching her, than there is for anyone having a chat with "Arry" or "Nan" or "Cat"? There is nothing "partially" about it. She is a well-guarded hostage and no one safe and well-intentioned enters the perimeter of her prison, end of.
Once Sansa is in the Vale, she is still more difficult to approach by anyone than a "simple" lowborn girl, as the bastard daughter of Littlefinger (soon Lord Protector) - who takes pains to control who she interacts with and how. And still she begins to form tentative bonds to the people around her - mindful to keep her emotional distance to a degree after what happened with Margaery and Dontos.
Which highlights another crucial aspect. Arya's bonds? Generally represent her attachment to others, not the other way around. She declares Hot Pie and Gendry her pack and feels betrayed that they have their own lives and plans, she never asked them if they feel the same way and I doubt it - and yet her bond to Gendry (also on the run, no threat to her!) - is the single most genuine mutual attachment she forms after she becomes a fugitive. Do they think Yoren helped her because she's uniquely worthy and not because she is Ned's daughter? Do they think Jaqen has no ulterior motive? Or Harwin and Beric? They are kind because they can afford to be but their motives are their own ends. Do they think Lady Smallwood would have somehow withheld this same kindness from Sansa? The captain of the Titan's Daughter knows she is connected to the Faceless Men, ffs. And what possible risk is attached to the women of the Happy Port being kind to a beggar girl?
To her vast credit, Arya forms quick and genuine attachments to other people. More so than Sansa, whose situation also doesn't allow for it. But these attachments don't represent a support system and they aren't deep bonds.
This distorted representation of their ability to connect to people certainly doesn't allow for some kind of speculation how Sansa would act and be perceived in a safe environment and or in a role of political leadership.
