Recycle - Tumblr Posts
It is really important that we take care of our Earth. Things cannot continue like this. Please spread awareness and do as much as you can to help prevent this future.

Gish Item Day 9: It's alivee!!

Residents of the small Swedish town of Eskilstuna don’t have to go far to get their shopping fix – or to help save the planet. Whether they’re looking for a TV, furniture, fashion, sports equipment or houseplants, they will find them all at ReTuna, Sweden’s – and probably the world’s – first shopping centre dedicated to refurbished and recycled goods. Everything sold has either been recycled or reused, or organically or sustainably produced.

Although Sweden is known for having some of the best recycling rates in the world (more than 95 per cent of glass, 85 per cent of newspaper, 70 per cent of metal and 65 per cent of plastic are recycled), there is still room to challenge perceptions around consumption and the circular economy.
To that end, ReTuna’s shops also offer workshops where customers can learn how to repair household items.
“People imagine that a sustainable lifestyle takes extra time and effort and is symbolic of a reduced way of living,” says Bergström. “But at ReTuna, we really try to help people be sustainable – and have some fun with it too.”

✨ veggie garden year 3 ✨ made almost entirely of recycled & upcycled materials. So far, lots of leafy greens and baby bunnies!
Saw a fireman recycle a Monster can today. Sometimes it's just the little things in life that make me happy. ☺️

I did NOT paint the entire painting I simply added the lines and little details in yellow, and white, the point of this was to update this old painting that belonged to my grandma, she had it for ages and since she passed i ended up keeping it, instead of letting it go to trash I fixed it and updated it,both to help cope over her being gone and to simply spread my creativity to it, my grandma always supported my creativity after all #angel #angels #art #recycledart #recycle #painting #oldpainting #angelpainting https://www.instagram.com/p/CRsNPa-jbHW/?utm_medium=tumblr
DIY Pencil Holder
I made my own pencil holder out of an empty plastic bottle during the online art class. So I’m painting it in bright cerulean blue, putting some shades of green seaweeds and light blue bubbles. Also, I’m decorating with seashells I collected from the beach last year.

Easy Ways You Can Help Save the Planet
Use reusable water bottles and straws- you can find cheap reusable water bottles practically everywhere nowadays in a bajillion different styles- find one you like and stick to it! I also enjoy those straws that fold and come with a case, so you can bring it with you everywhere!
Reusable lunch bags and containers are also a thing and will honestly save you so much money in the long run (as well as save the planet!!)
Recycle! If you happen to use plastic bottles or bags, aluminum or metal cans, paper and cardboard- these can all be recycled! Throw em in the recycling bin! (If you’re unsure if something is recyclable or not, a quick internet search can help decide! A lot more can be recycled than you think.)
Support Wind Energy. It’s clean, renewable energy that will give back to the Earth rather than continue to take away. This could help slow the effects of Global Warming, as well as lessen the usage of non-renewable resources such as coal, oils, and natural gases. In other words, it’s healthier for us and the environment.
Support Solar Energy! Solar panels are a great alternative to the non-renewable sources mentioned above, and similar to Wind Energy, is clean and renewable (not like the sun is going anywhere anytime soon). Now, I’m not telling you to go out and buy Solar Panels (I mean... unless you want to!), but simply supporting the use of it can be a huge step towards making the use of it more mainstream, and raise awareness!
Ride a bike or scooter, skateboard, rollerblade... the list goes on! I know using a car or taking the bus is easier and tempting (and I understand you often have to), but if you’re going somewhere close, hop on a bike or walk! Not only is this good for your body, but it will decrease the gas emissions that are released into the atmosphere when we drive motor vehicles (helping fight the Greenhouse Effect and slowing Global Warming).
Live Green and give back to the Earth! Plant a tree if you ever get the chance, clean up trash on the beaches (or anywhere you see it!), volunteer to help environmental groups or animal rehabilitation, and much like I’ve already mentioned above, recycle, seek out renewable energy sources, and think outside the box.
We’re rapidly nearing the point of no return, but we haven’t quite reached it yet. We have time to slow down the negative effects that have been building up over the past several hundred years. It’s not too late to help out and make a difference. It’s never too late.
If you have anything to contribute, please speak up!!
