there’s so many similarities between love and cutie—the late love that became obsessive and only cared about being near marcus.
i wanna go over one because it’s making me think, so:
them only wanting to be around their partners, and disregarding their feelings/ well-being.
-love: when they were told by james that he knew about their relationship with marcus, their reaction was indifferent, so much so that even marcus was shocked by it.
“you’re not even upset..at all. because you’re holding onto me, and that’s all that matters to you anymore. you have me, so none of the red flags are even registering.
they couldn’t seem to realize that there was even a problem, because all they cared about at that point was having marcus in their life.
-cutie: when them and geordi get in an argument over cutie wanting to be in his head and him not wanting that, he ends up fully explaining his feelings to them. he talks about not only how those feelings are important, but also how he cares about their’s and doesn’t want them to be uncomfortable. after, he says:
“i want to know…that you can understand, where i’m coming from. do you get why i’m so upset?”
based on geordi’s reaction after that, we know that they said something along the lines of “no”, or stayed completely silent, which would still imply they did not.
much like love, they find it hard to understand their partners feelings, or disregard them completely. all cutie wants is to be in geordi’s head, even though he’s expressed his point of view multiple times. and all love wants is to be near marcus, consistently, even though it could clearly result in them getting caught—and love getting terminated.
both characters put their love (or fixation) for their partners before particular factors that could literally result in their relationship ending.

Detroit Become Human but it’s Sweetheart and Love as Connor and Hank (Love as Connor for obvious reasons and Sweetheart as Hank for even more obvious reasons) Project Meridian sends Love out to The Department as a sort of experiment. And Love gets assigned to be Sweetheart’s partner.
Love can’t help but be internally excited about solving cases with a Stealth Investigator, and is just looking around The Department in total wonder until they’re face to face with said investigator. They’re a little aggravated to be slowed down by an android, especially when they need to be investigating Closeknit as quickly as possible- but they literally can’t say no.
As they work on cases together more and more- Sweetheart slowly becomes attached to Love: let’s be honest these two would do anything to protect the other. Sweetheart getting seriously injured in their investigation on Closeknit and Love being really concerned about them. They’ve never felt something so intense it almost scares them- Sweetheart can’t be rebooted like Love can- if they die now, they aren’t coming back.
Love is a curious thing, as they should be. Always asking questions and trying to figure something out, it’s almost cute. And to be free and away from Marcus gives them a new sense of freedom they never sought to have before. This contrasted with Sweetheart’s endless determination and familiarity in solving cases. At first, they’d roll their eyes at Love’s curiosity and bewilderment- but that slowly grows to be a comforting fondness- it makes them feel smarter and more responsible.
Love has never met a Stealth before, ever since they first learned about the existence of magic, they’d been intrigued by the idea of intangibility. So needless to say, Love is burying them in questions. “So what does it feel like to phase through things? Does it feel like the wall is going through you??? CAN YOU FEEL THAT???” “Uhm-no?”
Cutie (who I headcannon also works for the department) thinks Love is absolutely adorable. Love demands they buy Cutie some donuts before making it to The Department Headquarters. (And some coffee too of course)
Love using their strength to defend Sweetheart when things get heated during investigations, or when someone pisses the stealth off in the office. “Do you want me to beat the shit out of them for you? Because I will if that’s what you want.” “I don’t think that’s necessary, but I appreciate the thought.”
Love calling Sweetheart investigator 99% of the time. Sweetheart calling Love by their chosen name, or ‘Droid.
