I just want everyone to be careful. There seems to be an increase of right-wingers on Tumblr lately (at least I'm getting them put on my radar more often), including the ""enlightened centrist"" types. it may be tempting to call them out, but you're better off just blocking those people. no meaningful conversation will result from interaction with them.
Rant Time: TW for pregnancy, Christianity, school shootings, and rape
For context, this happened after Roe v. Wade was overturned
I remember on my way back from a family vacation that we had to go to church. Which is hard for me because I’ve never felt comfortable in a church ever since I found out people will use the Bible to justify horrible things (example: if she was rape it was god’s will) and also because these preachers say Queer people (a group of people I’m a part of) are all going to hell
That was what happened this time. The preacher basically said that abortion was wrong because “God made the soul of that fetus” “God knows that fetus” “God knows that fetus and what it will grow up to be”
Yeah. God also knew the Sandy Hook children and what they would grow up to be. God knew the Uvalde children and what they would grow up to be too. God knew the soul of the mother who died from a pregnancy complication that wouldn’t have happened if abortions were available where she lived.
Yet you only care about fetuses that have no emotions, no thoughts, and when that fetus becomes a living breathing baby you’re okay with it dying in a shooting. At least that’s how I understand it.
And going back to the whole “God knows the soul” thing, he also knew the mother was going to get a abortion, so why did he give the fetus to the mother? Just for her to “kill” it?
This is probably gonna be one out of many rants I’m just…angry and confused this happened and…idk I’m feeling a lot of emotions. I might delete this later

The conservatives on the Supreme Court just killed Roe v Wade, ending the federal right to abortion in America. And they are coming for contraception and same-sex rights next.
The dismantling of Roe v Wade will go down in history as one of the most damning indictments of american politics and a public health decision, no matter how short or long lived, that will shape the pain and suffering of generations to come.

Banning abortions doesn't stop abortions. It stops women from getting safe abortions & forces them to look for other dangerous alternatives, putting more women's lives at risk. It is fucking evil that women's healthcare is being taken away from us. Pro lifers but willing to put millions of women's lives at risk by seeking out backstreet abortions & being forced to carry the pregnancy out full term. Today is a dark day to be a woman

We knew it was coming but now it's official, the supreme court has ended Roe V Wade and I'm in tears. Women's rights has just been set back 50 years.
