RWBY Volume 9 Theory
Saw the Rwby volume 9 trailer and opening and you got to wonder, what happened to Jaune and Neo? Well in the trailer there was a women talking to Ruby about her hardships and loss (like Penny) and offering to take it all away. You know who else lost someone? Jaune. Him and Neo are the only odd ones out, but Jaune is the only one we see, other than posing, being actually shown. What I mean like moving or interacting or give any clue on him. The only scene close to that was a scene where we scene what looks to be Jaune but almost empty, like he’s been brainwashed. I have a theory that the women offered help in their loss, Like Jaune’s loss of Pyrrha and Penny (especially since he had to kill her himself), maybe taking all the pain away, but not just the pain, that’s the price, she takes everything, all that you are as a person leaving you an empty husk, what Jaune is in the trailer. This most likely leaves you to be a slave to do her bidding in return, so I definitely think maybe Juan’s will be a enemy they will have to fight, at least that’s my theory.
Obviously Neo’s the mad hatter, and I remember in the movie him being surrounded by his little merry crew, that’s what I think the shadows are, people that she knows that she recreated like roman, her parents, and so on, but people to do her bidding,

Okay with the new episode out and more info about what went down with alex I have a theory
In the new episode jaune told the story of how alex fell with her brother lewis, they met up with the curios cat and jaune but after meeting the herbalist Alyx distrusted them, drugged Jaune and then she, Lewis and the curious cat left, the problem was that Alyx was the only one in the book so Jaune deduces that Lewis was sacrificed to the tree and went through “ascension” and the curious cat was involved
But I have a theory that despite what Jaune thinks the cat truly didn’t cause what happened to alyx and lewis cause he wasn’t there. They left Jaune then at some point as stated by the curious cat (I think he was honest hear) tricked and ditched him before they went to the tree by themselves but LEWIS was the one that got out and wrote the book in memory of his sister, Since he’s most likely named after the writer of Alice in wonderland.
I also bet the cat wanted to leave because he actually hates the ever after, he himself doesn’t like ascension and hates having to force others to go through with it so this was an out

Just something on my mind...
The sound of metal crashing filled the air as Ruby and the Knight traded blows. Their fight went on for quite some time as Ruby started panting from exhaustion, the Knight on the other hand wasn't even tired.
The Knight rushed at her with an overhead strike, she blocked the attack but the force from the blow was strong. The Knight repeatedly attacked her, making her step back from each blow connecting.
Their weapons connected as Ruby struggled to resist her opponent's strength. She grunted and tried to push back, but she was losing slowly.
The Knight saw the predicament she was in and decided to taunt her.
Knight: You are going to die. Just like your friend, Jaune Arc!
The mention of her first friend's death greatly angered Ruby. Pushing with all her might, Ruby briefly gained some distance against her enemy, which was all she needed...
She used her semblance to perform hit-and-run attacks against the Knight, slashing at him from every angle, greatly overpowering him. The Knight struggled to maintain his defense against the onslaught of blows from Ruby, his armor was bearly holding on. It was too much and fell to his knee.
Ruby stopped her attacks and looked at her weakened foe. The Knight weakly stood up and tried to attack Ruby, only for her to sidestep out of the way and shot a .50 caliber round on the Knight's back, launching him for a few feet.
The Knight stood back up and turned to face Ruby, only for him to see Ruby deliver an overhead strike to his helmet!
The Knight cried out in pain, but it felt very familiar...
Ruby saw a mop of blonde hair beneath and she froze.
It couldn't be...
When the Knight stood straight and looked at her, she almost dropped Crescent Rose...
It was Jaune...this whole time...
But this wasn't the blonde dork she met back at Beacon, this was someone who wanted destruction, even his eye was orange and filled with hate, anger, and pain.
Ruby: J-jaune?
The Knight looked at her for a second before responding in the distorted voice of her friend.
Knight: Jaune is gone. I am what remains.
Ruby couldn't believe it. She didn't want to believe it, but here is the proof standing in front of her.
Ruby felt tears rolling down her cheeks in sadness, this was her friend...
Ruby: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Jaune. I'm sorry about Cinder killing Penny. I'm sorry for getting us into this mess in the first place.
His eyes soften a bit at her apology, and his eye slowly turned blue.
Knight: You have nothing to be sorry for, Ruby.
Ruby felt happy hearing her apology, only for it to be swiftly crushed by what he said next.
Knight: Besides, Cinder didn't kill...Penny.
Then, his blue eye turned back into orange filled with rage.
Knight: I did.
Ruby was heartbroken by his words and felt more tears drop down.
Knight: The same way I'm going to kill you!
Ruby stepped back.
Ruby: Then my friend is really dead.
Knight got into a fighting stance once more.
Ruby: Goodbye...Knight...
She folded Crescent Rose in its compact form and Petal Burst away from him.
Leaving him all alone...
Enraged, he called out to her.
Knight: Ruby!
Nothing...
Knight: RUBY!
His roar was heard throughout the island.
Yeah...
