nom, love bites : heizou, wanderer
米哈游 原神┊drabble┊wc. 1k

humiliating. mortifying. there’s no other way to describe the sight of the nation’s number one detective—self-proclaimed—moseying down the city’s main thoroughfares in the middle of his work break. it was tough to figure out if he was simply aloof or ignorant of his surroundings.
bystanders gasp in shock as heads turn to look at the awful sight of him.
the icing on the cake was how he wore them in pride, as if it was a medal of honor he had won by merit. his little idiosyncrasies were expected by the residents of narukami island and his agreeable personality made it easier to bear, though this was going too far.
heizou’s flagrant show of what transpired on your late-night rendezvous prompted a wide range of responses. some were indifferent, others were downright scandalized by how shameless he was to carry himself in broad daylight… there are children here!
the elder citizens clutch their sango pearls in horror. what a time to be alive! a member of the tenryou commission had chosen to roam the streets while flaunting such blue marks littered all over his neck with great delight.
“oh, may the almighty raiden shogun have mercy on us all,” a graying woman prays to herself, wise eyes turn shut after the quick show of his bruised skin when he strides past her in the direction of the komore teahouse.
“celestia knows we need it.”
the highly esteemed tengu kujou sara thought of chastising him for his less than savory appearance once she caught wind of the snickering in the background. it was considered dishonorable to the kujou clan after all, a giant offense even. however, she was at a loss for words; too embarrassed over the suggestive nature of these blemishes.
hence, she placed the burden onto you instead.
wonderful.
“darling…”
“lovely…”
“light of my life? fine. i can speak for the two of us anyway,” heizou puffs his cheeks then sighs out loud, “in all honesty, i don’t understand why i’m the bad guy here. i didn’t do anything wrong?!” he shakes his head. “i’m willing to argue this goes against protocol since it involves my personal life and—HUH?”
your hands planted on either side of his face, squishing it to stop him from rambling on and on and on.
“heizou?”
“hmph?”
“shut up.”
you lean back to study your work.
he was very lucky you decided to bring your hand kinchaku today. without it, he would’ve been out of commission for a day or two. and although the beauty product failed to properly conceal the love bites, it did a pretty decent job. it was now impossible to see unless you squinted.
“please stop making this more difficult than it should be.”
“b-but! why would you wish to conceal the evidence of your love for me?” you roll your eyes. how dramatic. heizou stares at you with a pitiful yet endearing look of desperation on his face. “it ISN’T noticeable, in fact, much of it is hidden by my collar.”
“don’t care, you’re the tenryou commission detective,” you mumble, refusing to succumb to his request no matter how cutely he refutes the comments about his public indecency. “it’s inappropriate for you to come to work looking like this.”
“well, you weren’t thinking that last n—OUCH!” he pulls out the theatrics, massaging the spot you pinched with the sulk of sulkiest pout known to mankind. “it was the truth!”

a nosy architect observes and gives him a quick once-over, “i see you’ve woken up on the right side of the bed today.”
wanderer scoffs at him then returns his focus to the grand sage’s discussion with you on the akademiya’s renovation plans to accommodate more students by supplying better facilities. his gaze lingers on you instead, and kaveh wasn’t blind to his actions.
from the moment you stepped inside the room together, he sensed a change in the air. it was… eye-opening? to say the least.
he overheard the personal aid of lesser lord kusanali wasn’t the most pleasant of companions, yet you enter with a coy expression, which is rare for the recently elected sage of the rtawahist darshan.
“oh?”
kaveh draws his bottom lip between his teeth. it was fun to see the infamous man grow increasingly irritated by his inquisitive stare. “there is no need to get defensive. i’m not interested in what you and the new sage do in your outside of work… especially when you two are consenting adults.”
wanderer glares.
“right side of your face, below your ear.”
in an attempt to be as invisible to the naked eye as possible, he cranes his head downward in hopes that his hat obscures his face as he checks his reflection on the smooth marble flooring to figure out what the nosy blond was going on about.
upon seeing what he did, heat rushed into his system and dusted his cheeks.
the moron was telling the truth, he inwardly scoffs; a faint bruise paints his neck directly below his ear, leaving little to no room for interpretation.
it was loud and clear.
wanderer was thrown off his balance by its presence that he was hardly able to react to the architect’s snickering next to him. no number of years in this world could’ve prepared him for this tricky situation.
(he secretly adored it!)
he appreciated the lengths you went to let him understand how much you wanted him, desired him, but my goodness, couldn’t you have chosen a less noticeable part of his body?
perhaps his lower stomach?
maybe even his chest area?
there was no saving him now… he spent his morning hiking through the streets tending to nahida’s errands like checking on the welfare of its citizens, so he was hilariously late on conjuring up a fool-proof plan to hide it.
everyone and their mother saw it by now. he could only pray the opposite happened for the young archon.
he was abruptly removed from his thoughts by the sound of you bidding alhaitham farewell; doe-like eyes make contact with his wordless agreement to meet one another in private after the this.
he didn’t want to be too obvious, so he waited for everyone to finish their business and leave before he moved, thinking he could walk away scot-free.
alas, he spoke too soon.
“have a wonderful evening, my friend!” kaveh greets loud enough for many heads to turn and stare at him curiously.
he was definitely going to have a word with nahida about the grand sage’s associate.

𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊𝐙𝐃!𝐂𝐊
Tired of your antics and the horrible day he’d had, DILUC presses a hand on your mouth, preventing any coherent words and sentences from spewing out of your mouth. You let out a surprised muffled noise which he paid no attention to. His eyebrows were knitted together in irritation as he places a hand next to your head. Eyes piercing into yours before you look at everywhere but the red-head in front of you. If you had focused on his forced-smile form, you would have noticed the vein popping out of the side of his head.
‘ Damn, do you ever stop talking? ’
Happily chatting away to ITTO, you don’t realise a bee buzzing around that eventually flew next to you. He was listening to your stories however the bee had distracted him. Instead of making eye contact with you whenever you both would converse, his gaze was fixed on the bee that stuck to you like you were a flower it was tempted to pollinate. For a few moments, he wasn’t too bothered but as the time passed and the buzzing grew unbearable, he was annoyed. He slammed his hand to the wall where the bee was, crushing the poor creature between the palm of his hand and the brick wall. Your mouth snapped shut at his sudden action. Noticing your surprised face, he retracted his arm from the side of your cheek.
‘ Sorry, there was something.. You were saying? What did the traveler do again? ’
CHILDE was telling you a detailed story about his recent fights, one of them being with the ‘almighty’ traveler. You let a hum out occasionally, letting him know you were listening as you admired the glaze lilies blooming in the night, underneath the glowing moon. He saw fatui patrolling from his peripheral vision. Knowing you both kept your relationship a secret in case anyone found out and decided to question his loyalty and effort he swore would all go to the Tsarista, he pretended to interrogate you. As he expected, the fatui turned his head and watched the scene play out for a few moments before going back to his assigned task and travelling somewhere else. He sighed, removing his arms away from your head.
‘ Heh, sorry about that! Anyway, as I was saying.. ’
It was late at the tavern and you admired Diluc’s patience as he watches his own brother, KAEYA, slur his words and flirt with you. By the time he had you pressed on the wall, you wonder why Diluc had yet to throw him out. Sweet nothings were whispered in your ear as he rests his head on your shoulder, arms that were beside your head slightly dropping. Soon, exhaustion got to him as he continues to mindlessly babble incoherent noises, head resting on your chest. Your back was flat against the wall and he had pressed his own body to yours, arms fully dropping from the wall and snaking themselves around your waist.
‘ Hm, has anyone told you how pretty you are? ’
ZHONGLI has heard the term before but has yet to actually try it. Ever since you agreed to be his partner, he’s been rather curious. How you would react is his main question here. And so, naturally, he decided to experiment. Now here you were, cheeks flushed as the man in front of you leaned his face closer, his breath fanning yours. One arm wrapped around your waist, the other placed next to your head. His deep chuckle was the only thing you heard in that moment as you averted your gaze from his.
‘ Interesting.. ’
𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓𝐖𝐈𝐑𝐋𝟓
Letting his defensive side take over when you suddenly surprised him, AETHER glares at you as he places his hands firmly on the structure of what the hilichurls must’ve built near the sides of your head. A solid five seconds of silence passed before your eyes widened in surprised and you squealed, scrambling to get out of his hold. He, although surprised as well, manages to stutter an apology before hugging you, with your permission after what had just happened of course.
‘ Ah! I’m sorry, I thought you were a hilichurl.. ’
Updating KAZUHA on Kabedons was boring to be vague. The boy didn’t act all too intrigued about the topic of the conversation which led you to think he was disinterested, but you were proven wrong later in the day. You were out with him at the market, looking for some fruits to be eaten as a snack before dinner. He was talking, something about his new haiku and you were too busy inspecting the fruits. His lips were pursed in a thin line and he became quiet, quieter than usual. Yet even you didn’t notice when his talking ceased. And so to earn your attention, there he was, in front of you, pushing you to an alleyway between two inazuman houses.
‘ Put down the damn fruit and pay attention, will you? ’
Rubbing his temples, HEIZOU was stressed. He had a lot on his agenda that night and boy, saying he was exhausted was an understatement. It didn’t help his situation that you wouldn’t stop running that mouth of yours. Usually his icy glare would’ve shut you up but you’d just brushed it off and continued yapping. You were so focused on trying to annoy him for your own entertainment that you didn’t notice the chair screeching and his presence right in front of you. He squeezed your cheeks and pushed you against his desk, a hand slammed on his desk.
‘ You better shut up right now. ’
VENTI had been looking forward to your attention all day. Yet, here he is, arms wide open and you still walked past him. He pouted, a genuine pout. He’d try getting your attention but you merely just waved at him briefly before going back to your work. Did you even try looking at him, smile and then wave? He was beyond annoyed now. As you strolled around Mondstadt finding the next venue for a delivery, you were pushed on a thick pole. There you finally met him, in all his pissed off glory, narrowing his eyes as a frown was etched on his face.
‘ These packages can wait, can’t they? ’
He knew he wouldn’t admit it, but XIAO was aware that he was jealous of the traveler. How could he not? He saw you spending majority of your time with them instead of him. Have you acknowledged him at all for that whole week? He clicks his tongue, narrowing his eyes as he finally decides to confront you about it. As soon as you were alone, he pops out of nowhere and corners you under the bridge near wangshu inn. Faces so close to each other that his breath was fanning your lips.
‘ Is the traveler your partner now? ’

꒰ ☆ : seeing you in a wedding dress (modern)

shikanoin heizou [鹿野院 平蔵]
ah, weddings… the union between two individual to journey through the remainder of their lives facing every high and low, and in sickness and in health together side by side. the silver band slithered around your finger acts as the ultimate symbol of love and companionship. unfortunately, majority seem to forget how stressful it is behind the scenes. although well-known due to the many bridezilla jokes made over the years, it was never taken seriously.
heizou was grateful your best friend and her fiancée had yet to succumb to the pressure when they begged for your help in tending to their wedding plans. it is one of your many duties as her maid of honor. she did a superb job at keeping her emotions at bay; however, if he squints hard enough, he could spot her eye twitch when the dress shop clerk tried to recommend other dresses while they wait for you.
he didn’t know if this was a part of the process but he didn’t bother to question it when she decided to shove you inside the dressing room, insisting you try on the bridal gown you were evidently admiring. as they sat there, she not so subtly circles around the question of when he intends on tying the knot with you.
it felt like he was under police interrogation with the slew of questions she threw at him.
was this what his suspects felt when he grilled them for any answers? he thought, as your best friend proceeds to shake him for more information about your relationship and if he’s got plans to take it to the next level.
“uh… guys?”
it was as if time itself slowed down when you shyly step out wearing the white garment. everything and everyone seems to fade into the background as his olive eyes traces your figure. you were… bewitching to take in. heart pounds in his chest while his cheeks flush red. he couldn’t find it in him to speak. the words dried up in his mouth the moment he cast his sight on you.
it was like falling in love with you for the first time again.
it was like he went back in time and he was that starry-eyed and bushy-tailed college kid who was struck with the grand epiphany that the funny, warm feeling he felt whenever you graced him with your company was love. his palms begin to sweat and he lets out a shaky breath he didn’t know he was holding.
i can’t believe you’re mine, he internally sighs, as the tips of his ears turn a deep pink.
“oh, my goodness!” your best friend squeals, and nears you you to wrap your arm around hers. she faces you towards the mirror to see your reflection. despite being stressed out by her schedule today, a wave of emotions wash over her as it sinks that she was about to enter a new chapter of her life with you.
wiping the tears off the corner of her eyes, she shows you a toothy grin. “look at you! look at us!”
she glances at heizou to see his reaction on you wearing the bridal dress, might even tease him to say something, anything! for a chatterbox, he surprisingly kept silent for the past minute. no one heard a peep out of him. she soon finds out when she spies how fondly he drinks in your image from his seat. she’d have to be blind or in denial to ignore the way too obvious look for adoration on his face.
she can’t help but silently wish that you catch her bouquet at the wedding reception.
“god, you left him speechless!” she wiggles her brows. your hands immediately cover your face. you want to dismiss her juvenile taunts, howbeit, when you peeked through your fingers, you were stunned to see she wasn’t exaggerating at all.
the lone thought swimming in heizou’s mind on a loop right was “i’m gonna marry her some day…” and he had a stupid, lovesick smile to match it too.

kunikuzushi [scaramouche]
“and what the hell are you doing?!”
suffice to say, you’re a hopeless romantic at heart. growing up, you read through stacks on top of stacks of fairytales to pass time—each one held near and dear to you. its tellings of ‘happily ever after’s mesmerized you. you had your head in the clouds as you fantasize about meeting your ‘one true love’ who’d take your hand and whisk you away to your own happy ending.
and you did… sort of?
you found your handsome prince charming, though, he was less than kind and grouchier than the grinch himself. while he hasn’t carried you off into the sunset to spend your both of your lives in unadulterated domestic bliss, you were very hopeful to say it was a work in progress.
he loves you.
and you know deep down that he’d do anything for you and your happiness. therefore, you had a big chance of swaying his current perspective on marriage and weddings.
again, he loves you.
if he wanted to make you his bride, he would’ve done it at a moment’s notice. he couldn’t understand for the life of him why you’d want to rush your relationship. your clear fixation on marriage annoyed him to no end. to him, you already have good thing going on, why ruin it? you knew you were it for each other, what was the point of planning a gaudy, and unreasonably expensive, ceremony?
it’ll do nothing but leave you swimming in loans! now that’s for sure!
still, it didn’t stop you from dreaming or talking about it day in and day out. and without a fail, you’d get a glare or a loud scoff from him. but did that ever stop you? of course not. whether he wanted to deal with it or not, you spiraled down into your wedding fever, which only worsens thanks to your cousin recently announcing his engagement.
life just loves to get on his nerves, no?
you didn’t hesitate to offer your assistance when you heard his best man was unavailable. while you were able to evade your boyfriend’s suspicions during the days leading up, you should’ve known better because, unbeknownst to you, your cousin invited him to have dinner with both of you and alas, it led him to arrive at the most inopportune time.
“i can explain!”
you ramble excuse after excuse, however, none of it reaches his ears. it puzzled you to see him silent for once. normally, he wouldn’t waste a second later to—gently—scold you for your latest shenanigan. instead he stands dumbfounded, as his eyes roam over your figure. how does he respond to this exactly?
you were dressed in a… bridal gown? the nth one within the hour whereas your cousin checks his chosen selection from the other side of the store with the clerk’s aid.
“now i know i promised that i wouldn’t do anything wedding related or talk about it; and i know that you’re probably mad at me right now, so why don’t you go on ahead and get it over with?” your eyes squeeze shut, almost bracing yourself for impact.
it didn’t come.
to your surprise, your boyfriend stutters a weak, “y-you’re… you’re beautiful,” before facing the ground, away from your prying gaze.
“oh, my gosh…” you gasp, “you like me in a wedding dress… which means that we’re gonna get married one day… which means i can finally talk about it without you getting grumpy with me!” falling into one of your many musings about your dream wedding.
kunikuzushi grunts in reply before he struts over to you and hauls you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. he plops your body behind the dressing stall then closes the curtains mid-conversation. out of sight, out of mind, right?
