announcing Heatwaves - a rotational gameplay story!
what is heatwaves?
Heatwaves is literally what happens when you lie in bed late at night thinking about your blorbos and wondering what their lives would be like in high school. So I created a new save file, took some of my favorite sims (who are all successful adults in my main save) and turned them into teenagers so they could experience the best time of their lives - filled with drama, hormonal chaos and exams.
who are the protagonists?
Heatwaves focuses on the lives of four high school students and their classmates. Each family is played in turn for 7 days (Monday - Sunday).

I'm not very familiar with the US school system, as the German school system works a bit differently. The school system in Heatwaves will be a mix of my own experiences and made-up stuff.
The protagonists in Heatwaves are all between the ages of 17 and 19, as that is the usual age to graduate from high school in Germany.
I had way too much fun creating this yearbook. Also I'm fully aware that a yearbook is usually created at the end of a schoolyear (at least that's how it's done in Germany) but what better way is there than to introduce the characters in a high school story than via a silly yearbook entry? c:

Avery: Sorry for the wait. Tom had some trouble with his luggage. Tom: *tired noise*
Tom: I can't wait to leave this stupid place and have some fun together. Alexander: By fun you mean what exactly? Tom: Shall I give you a heads-up on this?
Tom: *kisses Alexander* Alexander: *surprised* What the f---?! What are you doing?! Stop it! Tom: C'mon! It's not like your parents are around or something... Let's have some fun for once. Alexander: Even if my parents aren't around... You can't just kiss me! What if someone sees us?! Tom: *is annoyed* Avery: Is everything alright? You don't look very happy. Tom: Yeah, it's just... ugh.. I was hoping that Alex and I could finally have some fun without him constantly worrying all the time. Avery: Well, you know his parents. I'm sure he will be in a better mood once we're in Sulani.
William, Grace and Nasja: *feeling bored while waiting for the others* Grace: *yawns*
Grace: Let's go!!!

Tom: *yawns* Damn, that flight was exhausting. Alexander: At least we finally made it. And this rented car isn't too bad. Tom: Must have cost a fortune tho.
Avery: *calling his mother* Hey mom. Sorry for just calling now. We arrived pretty late yesterday. We're about to head to the beach. Yes, we'll put on sunscreen. I promise.
Tom: *giving Alexander a kiss* It's great to be able to kiss you without worry. Alexander: Better not get used to it...

Tom: Shh~ no need to be upset. We'll figure something out.

Tom: Still upset about what Nasja said earlier?
Tom: I know it's difficult for you, but let's enjoy the last few hours of our vacation instead, okay?

Teacher: We have career day on thursday. Participation is mandatory. There will also be the opportunity to talk to a career counselor. Please make use of this offer if necessary.
Teacher: If there are no further questions, let's get started with our regular lessons.

Maksym: So, how was your first day of school? Did anything exciting happen?
Nasja: We have a new classmate. He's an exchange student from Mt. Komorebi. And we have career day on thursday. Maybe I could…? Kasper: Nasja, not again. We've talked about this so many times.
Maksym: Alex will take over the company so that you can focus on marriage. Kasper: Exactly. No need to waste the best years of your life chasing a career you don't need anyways.
