♥ 24 Dec 2023 - Christmas Eve! ♥
I was able to do some work on a psych module last night after i felt better!
However today, i got my period! Ugh, right before Christmas too! Decided to do some well deserved self care (hair & face mask, healthy breakfast, at home mani, and small sleep in). My hair feels sooo good now!
Doing more uni work, will probs do some tomorrow as well (yay)... although the modules i find kinda fun... I've always loved psychology and analysing people (kinda related, got really into criminal minds last month... i love the profiling)
Also been trying to find cute youtubers to help with motivation, for study and getting my shit together lol. If you have any recommendations plz share!
I've been trying to fuel my mind whilst taking breaks by watching more video essays, it's sooo good! There are many in depth, academic and educational ones on YT, but also more lighthearted comedic ones about random things.
Like i just watched a Burback video (great channel btw) about PokemonGo's release, it was so interesting! Did you know that 3 bodies were found bc of PokemonGo in the first 10 days of release?! Or that Nintendo stocks rose the highest they had ever been since the 80's because people mistakenly thought Pokemon was owned by Nintendo??
Anyways, should go back to studying now, if you've read this far, thanks so much for listening to my rambles. :) ♥

I do my skin care, but my skin doesn't care
Does anyone have any tips for reducing acne breakouts?

11:11 as i type this and i have dried clay all over every limb, and a very happy heart, and a very clean face, mellie and i have been spending a lot of time on self care and love- truly one of the most important things i think ever. it’s such a good tool to use to stay grounded, clean, and shamelessly enough- very pretty and pampered !!! i love listening to spotify dj together each night, taking turns with the broken gua sha and snail mucin (that really truly seriously is awesome) i love and will always back up healthy (genuinely healthy) self care and wellness. same as taking the time to make yourself a cup of tea, i can’t think of many other better things than just cleaning yourself before bed with rlly good music and a rlly good girlfriend
NINIGHT!!!
Tips and Tricks
(Please?)
Just for you.

I use a local anaesthetic spray on my feet, it's called Aspercreme Pain Relief Dry Spray with Lidocaine, it totally and completely numbs my feet and makes it very easy for me to walk in heels without any sort of pain, I can't feel my feet or any pain for up to seven hours, and I'm always comfortable after I take my heels off. I also use these Dr. Scholl's Gel High Heel Cushions for the balls of my feet and I cut another pair in half for my heels, they're just to cushion my feet and keep them comfortable, I use a thin layer of clear Dry Idea Advanced Dry Gel Deodorant and Gold Bond Foot Powder to prevent smell or chafing, and then finally I use NexCare Sensitive Skin Tape on the areas of my feet that I know are prone to blistering. My feet look normal but they never hurt, I can walk 10 miles in Louboutins and have no pain, I can wear my super high stripper heels, I can dance and run and play in my heels, and I can go about my life without ever having to think about my feet hurting. Part of my job involves always wearing high heels or shoes with a platform, I rarely ever wear flat shoes, and so this trick has been a godsend for saving my feet and ankles and allowing me to wear my heels.
I'm usually under an immense amount of stress and no matter how much water I drink or how careful I am with my skincare routine, I still sometimes get painful acne, especially when I'm about to get my period. I use a mixture of Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion and Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Acne Patches to clear up the acne I get, it's a super fast overnight fix as long as I stay hydrated, I wash my face with my usual L'Oreal Glycolic Acid Cleanser, and I stay away from stressful situations and eat my greens, fruit, and fresh fish. It's pretty simple, face wash, lots of water before I go to bed, a patch or some of the acne drying lotion, and my skin is perfect when I wake up. As long as I use the patches when I start to feel pain around the areas where I usually tend to get stress related or hormonal acne, I'm in the clear, I can get the inflammation and pain to go within 9 hours, and my skin doesn't bruise or scar. I also wear heavy makeup and so these patches and the lotion are a godsend after I fully cleanse my skin and make sure my face is clean before I apply anything to help clear up any of my face/body acne.
My eyes are a dead giveaway for when I'm headed towards exhaustion, it doesn't help that I have monolids because I start to look tired faster and my eyes get super bloodshot so I use Lumify Eye Brightening Drops to brighten up the whites of my eyes and make me look like I'm alert and awake. To brighten up my entire eye area, I also tend to take off my winged liner and any dark eye makeup, apply a lot of concealer and powder, use a shimmery very soft eyeshadow to brighten up my eyelids, I lighten up on my eyebrows, and I clean up and brighten my entire eye area because bloodshot eyes and a smoky eye left over from the night before that I did in the back of an Uber headed home just don't click together, I've been able to come home in the afternoon after being out for 16 hours, fix my makeup, throw some eye drops in my eyes, and then go on a late night date looking completely refreshed and like I haven't fallen up the back stairs before walking out the front. These eye brightening drops are always in my going out bag and I find myself constantly making use of them.
I refuse to get lip fillers again because they hurt and they looked bad so I scrub my lips with a Lip Scrub from Lush, I use Cherry Balm Dot Com from Glossier, I use Plump it Lip Plumper, I wait a few moments until the products have dried and settled and my lips look very visibly plumped, then I use Lip Injection Extreme Lip Gloss from Too Faced, I apply my Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, and then I finally use a very very thin coat of Buxom Lip Plumping Gloss in Jasmine for some more shimmer and wow. I want a natural look and my lip routine absolutely does that for me, I hated how I looked with lip fillers back when I was 16 and as long as I keep my lips hydrated, I can easily get the same look with less cost and less stress, it takes me close to seven minutes but my lips always look nice and flawless, I don't have to over line anymore, and I like how I can switch things up with a different Balm Dot Com, a different cream formula lipstick, and a different colour of Buxom Lip Gloss, it's a simple solution for a huge pay off and my lips look like they're fully natural, not like I've filled them up with hyaluronic acid and tried to make them look natural.
I whiten my teeth at home and I love the process, I was recommended Opalescence by a close friend of mine because I have slight damage to my teeth and I loved the brand so I ended up switching the majority of my dental cleaning and dental care products over to Opalescence just to make things easier. I use the Opalescence Sensitivity Relief Whitening Toothpaste, I use the Opalescence Opalpix Dental Flossing Pick Cleaners, and I also use the Opalescence Go Dental Whitening Kit. I go to the dentist every 3 months for intense dental cleaning just to keep my smile and my gums healthy and so then I have the Opalescence Boost in-office Dental Whitening. My teeth are the healthiest they've ever been, they're white and I can smile, I don't feel like they'd damaged and my dentist has told me they've become stronger and healthier, and I was originally going to get dental bonding done to have the perfect smile but I love my natural smile more than I ever have now. The price is much better than dental bonding or permanent veneers and I feel like I'm just taking care of my teeth instead of going through the trouble of having a cosmetic procedure.
Although this one is against everything I preach, I always use fragrance-free Summer's Eve cleansing wash before I go on dates just to feel extra fresh and clean and then I use the Summer's Eve Active Chafe Gel on the areas of my body that tend to chafe and become irritated. I'm sure it's not the best for me but to be able to enjoy myself, not worry, and enjoy sex. I also carry the Summer's Eve Fragrance Free cleansing wipes in my purse just in case I feel like I need to freshen up in the powder room before I step out. I don't ever use these often, I always use a very light Castile baby soap and cool water to clean and rinse my intimate areas but I can't just carry around a bar of fucking soap when I go out to wash myself up. I've never had any irritation or any sort of infection, I'm always very gentle with my body, and the wipes are just something to keep me fresh and happy. I used to use an Italian gel called Chilly Gel but I personally feel like unscented Summer's Eve is the move, it's light, it doesn't sting, it doesn't make me feel toxic or irritate my vulva or vagina, and it's easily diluted so it's not just a soapy cleanser, I water it down and rinse really well and it's the perfect fix.
Finally, while I love love love love wearing perfume, sometimes I want to be more casual and while I love my big bottles and my heavy scents, I often buy hair mist so I can wear it in my daytime dates. I don't just spritz it in my hair, I spritz it on my body as well and it wears off faster but leaves a very gentle scent and I love it, it's not overpowering, it's not too bold or sexy, and it's a nice way to wear my favourite sexy scents during the day, I don't like to be too sultry and dark during the day, I prefer to be bright and gentle. I love the Diptyque Ilio Hair Mist for when I want a gentle Mediterranean and breezy scent, I love how it smells like the flowers and the sun near the ocean and makes me smell like I'm back in Monaco, I love the YSL Black Opium Hair Mist that I have because it's lighter and a touch less obviously sexy than the real deal and it makes it nicer for me to wear to go out to brunch and during the day, I bought the Maison Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge Hair Mist because it's like hundreds of euros cheaper than the real deal and the scent isn't as overpowering as the full eau de parfum is. My all time favourite is my Oribe Côte d'Azur Hair Refresher, it's my holy grail, men love it, it keeps my hair looking sleek and my body smelling amazing, it's lightweight, and the scent is pure sex, it's next level.

Y’all know I don’t share skincare/bodycare products like that but here are some general tips:
-If your lips tend to be on the dry side, hot towel them every morning then throw some Vitamin E on them. You can do this with your body parts as well, especially the hands if you stick them in gloves right after.
-Use body rollers/muscle rollers for body contouring and stretch marks—I linked one with multiple tools but really anything that targets cellulite is golden.
-Keep your feet elevated when sleeping. This is why I refuse to have a bed that’s not adjustable lol, but it helps with lymphatic drainage especially if you wear heels or do a lot of walking!
-Wooden hairbrushes stimulate the scalp the best, second would be boar bristle brushes.
-Dry brush! I use a boar bristle brush for this as well, it helps with lymphatic drainage, digestion, and makes your skin glow.
-Buy a Japanese salux cloth or hammam glove for exfoliation-if you have discoloration or need softer skin, do this lightly (no hard scrubbing) then throw on some lotion with lactic acid.
-Using benzoyl peroxide washes for your underarm kills scent and can actually kill sweating, if you don’t sweat much.
-Filtered shower heads always, it should be so heavily filtered that it’s drinkable. The difference in the water is palpable. Heavy metal toxins found in the body actually come from hard/unfiltered water and can affect the feel and elasticity of the skin.
-When washing your feet, I’ve found it’s best for them to have their own soap, normally an antioxidant or detoxing soap, with massage nodules for extra comfort.
-Throw CBD oil on your feet for long term heel usage, they numb pretty well.
-Get a lotion with multivitamins.
-Pussy steams/yoni steams are the best, benefits are internal and external. Also, it feels great.
-Oils/butters that’ll change your skin: cupuacu butter, emu oil, black cumin seed oil, kukui nut oil, & baobab oil.
-I’ve learned it’s best to have a separate bodycare routine for certain body parts (I have a neck, pussy, general body, & foot routine) so that you can target specific problems. Also, never neglect the neck or hands.
TIPS/PRODUCTS/HABITS TO INCORPORATE IN YOUR LIFE
Give yourself a manicure and pedicure at least once a week- you don’t have to paint your nails; simply maintenance.
Wear sunscreen whenever you go out (yes even cloudy days there will still be damaging UV rays)
Use a face wash that has zero soap and zero fragrance to avoid irritation
Wake up early and exercise! This is the best way to start your day to gets fresh start. Inspiration for some form of routine can be found here.
MOISTURISE! I cannot stress this enough. At night I use Nivea anti wrinkle revitalising night cream, along with by hydrating B3 oil. In the morning I use simple moisturiser along with Decléor aromessence ylang cananga oil
When you shower- do NOT scrub your body unless exfoliating. It’ll irritate your skin and it’s pointless.
When exfoliating I use soap and glory maple scrub- you don’t need to exfoliate for long or very hard
Always sit up straight. Good posture is attractive.
NEVER look to the ground when you’re walking; always look up straight ahead, if you make eye contact with someone; just smile and move on.
if you wear jewellery, keep it simple
wake up early- if you want to have a productive day, its easier to get a head start.
have some form of way to vent. keeping emotions and rage bottled up will lead to an ugly and hurtful breakdown. this can be taken out through a new hobby, journaling, or even talking to someone.
always make your bed in the morning.
never use your phone at the table, same with your elbows; keep them off when the meal arrives.
