Fun fact: spiders don’t have ears, they use the hairs on their legs to feel vibrations.

What if when Peter Parker got bit by the spider, one of the side effects is that he lost his hearing, and the spidey sense formed as a direct result of that. Since he can’t hear the people around him and wouldn’t be able to identify a threat coming from behind him, he developed the spidey sense to replace his hearing.
